  1. During the 5 year intermission, Vadim resides near Red Larch, staying at the inn he cooked his famous soup in as he lives a quiet life. Of course, he harbors a need for adventuring, and constantly leaves for lone expeditions to the vast area surrounding Red Larch in search of new ingredients to concoct new dishes and spice up his existing ones. Very rarely is he ever seen actually /in/ Red Larch, as he prefers to stay out in the wilderness, camping and hunting using his newfound powers. He cooks for the inn, taking whatever they offer him, and splitting it in half, stating that he doesn't need much money, as he gives the rest of it back in a subtle way, by disguising himself so he could pay for rooms and food.
  2. However, Vadim does not have it easy. He pledged himself to serve the Raven Queen, but the box he received as a calling from Mythos still haunts him day and night. He's lost many days worth of sleep, thinking about whether or not he should answer the call, and it's slowly eating away at his mental health. He slowly became less social in Red Larch, and would often use disguises to walk around, even going so far as to abandon Julia just because he became paranoid and untrusting. The only person he would even communicate with would be Luna, as he still wished to speak to nature, as well as vent his troubled mind, not letting his true nature as a warlock slip past his lips. He all but cut off contact with Ignis, fearing that the paladin would eventually be forced to strike him down, should he know that Vadim received a calling from Mythos.
