  1. To whom it may concern. On this day I come to you with a strange and weird question. It is regarding the fridays "fun raid" and the fact that not many people find it fun or enjoy it per say. The question is can you guys make it so that its more of a "free / do whatever you want day" than "we will try to do 25 achievement run of something so we really need as many people as we can, even though some of the people that have joined do not enjoy the athmosphere or raid at all".
  2. I have been an observer of few occasions already where we would need few last people to try and fill the raid as much as possible and whisper people who are not in the raid individually asking if they can join, or talking about them on gchat, or any sort of mentioning, which puts the set person in a little bit of pressure to join the raid. That being said we are all aware that nothing is required and nobody is forced to join any raids. It's just the feeling that somebody might get, even though they should not. There is a prime example of 2 members, the name of which I will not mention, who are under the impressions that if they join the "fun raid" they will get a bit of a "thumbs up" from the officers for helping make the raid, or trying to do achievements as a guild, or anything of that sort, which might help them with future rank, or LC items, or whatever. I know that it is not the way the council functions, but if I am aware that people might think that, then there are definitely more than 2 that might think, or consier that. You could see where this might lead - false prejudice / motivation to join raids and after 4 hours of a guild run, nobody comes out happy at the end, something that the name "fun raid" might suggest. I think there are more negatives than positives in those kinds of raids and if I may, I would like to point some of them out (even though this is a message and asking "if I may" is quite redundant :D )
  3. Positives: Higher EP than regular raids, a chance for an achievement (if you are an achievement hunter), a chance for transmog (if you care for that as well)
  4. Negatives: Peer pressure; wrong motivation to join the raid; sometimes double the usual raid time; some people are also under the impression that you are trying to "bribe" them with high EP rewards, even though I have explained that the reward is tied closely to time and effort put in a set raid and how difficult in this patch it is; nobody, except maybe very few, sees it as having fun, enjoys or cares for old content, beacause people simply don't expect such runs in end game guild where we do end game content 6/7 days (yes i will put TOGC 25 here as well as we try to do chest runs, which is harder than it seems and drops bis items), this is also shown by the amount of sign ups and how random, or scattered they are (by that i mean the only people who sign up regularly for those runs are people like me, zombi, priestism, pathrocle, gandalf, because we will raid anything anyway); some have asked for at least 1 free of raids day and they don't have other choice, but to take this friday off as it is of least importance.
  5. Looking at the most resent poll on our site you can see that 14 have voted for "yes" and 36 have voted for something else. In my opinion this is a bad poll that does not show or conclude any reliable information. If you guys still want to survey our memebers again, I would like to suggest a poll that asks "would you like to keep "fun run" friday raids?" with ONLY 2 options: yes, keep them as they are, or no, make it a "free/decide in gchat" day. The choise for those options is simple imho, you need to have an incentive to join those raids, if you vote yes (as everybody has their own reasons to join LOD or Halion runs), or we can do whatever we want (just ask in gchat - bane, glory runs, tbc runs, boosting characters in icc, getting gear for togc, even ulduar). Most of those raids are preferable to be only in 10man version, as we will almost never have the people for 25 raids. This gives us the option to chose whatever we want and people cannot be upset for joining something they voted on.
  6. As i see it, it is just a combination of cons that leads to unenjoyable run that contradicts its name.
