- Several more drinks were purchased for Simeon, who loosened up a bit more, and told the party about a tale from his childhood which involved gargoyles, very similar to one of the three they encountered. The legend followed the pattern on the pedestals.
- Ukurdiel spoke with the butcher, and paid for a slab of meat. He identified the cut as a slab of rust monster shoulder. It would appear the Duergar get by, even when times are scarce.
- They decided to speak with 'Doc' Larin. He was rather forthcoming, once intimidated and cornered. He revealed Olgarr was in his employment, procuring difficult to find ingredients for poultices and spells, sometimes through unsavory means. Furthermore, he has pledged himself to the Beyond, in the hopes his sacrifice will benefit his people. He appeared to be forthright with this explanation.
- Somewhat disgusted with the man, the party decided to leave towards the exit Marty told them about. They left up the 'stair', which was merely a collection of tree roots.
- Upon exiting to the swamp, they were ambushed by an elven warband. They madly threw themselves into battle, but Emilia, Alasdair, Ukurdiel, and Ryardynin were victorious.
- Upon inspecting their bodies, Ryardynin vaguely remembered their tattoos are related to their warmongering goddess.
- Alasdair remarked how they would not be reborn if their bodies were burned. To some, this would seem cruel.
- The party decided to throw them down the stair, and not burn their bodies.
- Next, they decided to follow one of the few leads they have, and venture to the Lost Hills. They took eleven days to travel on foot, overland. The four of them avoided an elven patrol leading out of the swamp, but otherwise enjoyed the journey unbothered.
- They reached the lost hills, and found it to be a large structure looming before them. It appeared to contain a stone megalith, not dissimilar to the founder's runestone they previously investigated. This time, however, it appeared to contain a sprawling dungeon complex beneath the ground. Perhaps here, they would find the relic of Mortwin, the illusionist, as Olgarr spoke of.
