He snickers and shakes his head, using his free hand to reach up and remove his mask and hood, tossing them onto her bed so that arm can go back around her. "It's nothing bad, I assure you. Might embarrass the shit out of myself though."

He mumbles the last bit, not realizing it's come out aloud at all. "I wanted to talk a little bit about... Us? I guess? Is that alright?"

When did Giselle kill a Gnome? That didn't matter. He'll forget she said that, right? The relief was heavenly and Giselle sighed loudly, wrapping her arms around him once again.

"Us? Mh... yes, I suppose that is alright... do not be so embarassed! Nothing you can do would bring such forthright judgement from me."

Not even picking up that there might be a dead gnome somewhere - not that it really mattered, he'd have accidentally stepped on at least thirty by now if his kin went to the other side - he nods and takes a moment to gather his thoughts.

"Do you... Like me at all? I mean, beyond just friendliness." It feels so juvenile to ask this, and it's clear by the way he hesitates. But! No way to be sure unless you ask. "Or are we just fuck buddies?"

Romance was complicated, to say the least. Most Illidari could call themselves "more demon than Elf", but Giselle was quite literally that! Her Imp took thoughts at a mile per hour too fast to think of emotion with kisses or hugs, and the only real time she resembled an emotional, thoughtful Elf was when she was mad or in despair.

And the latter was rare.

Zak was being honest, and the Huntress had a hard time lying. She would try to be sincere. Ignore the cackling demon within that was likely insulting Zak for such candidness. "Romance is... hard, to be quite frank..." she began. "I remember the feeling of love and to be close, long ago, but these days, it is but a distant memory. I do believe I truly loved one-- my battle-partner-- but perhaps... not a romantic love."

Giselle softly pursed her lips and glanced away. "She has since fallen in battle, but, I suppose I should ask, do you like me?"

In a way, it's difficult for him, too. Not nearly as, but when something seems perfect and it's ripped away, it leaves a nasty scar. One that has him currently kicking himself for bringing this up at all instead of shoving it somewhere deep, deep down to fester until he eventually dies. Likely in the next couple of years or so.

He doesn't seem to realize that his arms have significantly tightened until a moment has passed, and he clears his throat before shaking his head and looking back down at her. "I mean, I do. But it could just be being with someone after being alone for so long. I'm not really sure."

Yes, he is. It's either that specific thing, or he likes her. She accepts him and he doesn't have an ounce of self doubt around her that's... Refreshing. "I just wanted to ask. It's not really a big deal or anything."
