  1. Trickysticks here, judging another contest. Yay. This one involves lasers everywhere and only lasers.
  2.
  3. Scripts will be judged solely on gameplay. While the danmaku is the vast majority of this category, things like sound effects and graphic design choices do affect how the game plays. Scores will be calculated by rating every pattern out of 10, then taking the average of those values.

  5. This review is for Guilmon's contest entry. I played on Hard mode.
  6.
  7. Nonspell 1: Wow knife lasers look terrible. Anyway it's a thoroughly-average pattern. 5/10.
  8.
  9. Spell 1: It's like the nonspell before it but different. Woo. Feels pretty much like more of the same. 4/10.
  10.
  11. Nonspell 2: It's streaming and then some simple dodging. It's okay. It's hard to read due to the nature of the bullets you're firing, so if you don't KNOW it's aimed you might just die. 4.5/10.
  12.
  13. Spell 2: I think it's really easy to get pinned under some knives, and trying to dodge high up on the screen results in Sakuya doing Eternal Laser Meek. It's a good idea with bad execution. 3/10.
  14.
  15. Nonspell 3: Requires dodging ahead and baiting the aimed knifetrianglethings away from the gaps in the main pattern. If you don't do this then you're easily walled off with no room to even try to get out of the bad situation. Okay idea, but little leeway given doesn't make it very fun. 4/10.
  16.
  17. Spell 3: Jack is doing WHAT now? -10/10 wurst name evr
  18. Anyway, it's very interesting. I think it's a bit too much when you have to dodge the lasers from Sakuya while also being surrounded by the spiral of lasers, since sometimes it just feels impossible to deal with if you get unlucky. Otherwise it's neat, if a bit slow to start. 6/10.
  19.
  20. Spell 4: As for the opener, the gaps you have to dodge through with your speed halved get REALLY small, and you're not given all that much time to adjust. It's hard to see the laser lines and when a laser passes by when the field is covered by massive amounts of warning lasers - sure, it's a good warning, but they get in the way of you getting out of the way. Consider using a different warning graphic than simply more lasers. The final phase is so red it's ridiculous. 3/10.
  21.
  22. Spell 5: Great idea. I enjoyed playing this card a lot and really like the concept behind it. 8/10.
  23.
  24. Total Score: 4.69
