  5. -------- [This is basically an RP between me and another person, I play the part of Kirin and he plays the part of Kael]----
  6.
  7. Kirin's mind was prone to wandering, even more so now than before because she had so much free time on her hands. Granted that free time was reserved exclusively to bars, diners, and other dive areas. Still, she had her fair share of fun, even in those places. When the drifter came through the door her nose immediately picked up on the fact that he was different, the winds carrying his scent all the way to her she turned to look, but then quickly turned around when she saw him getting closer.
  8.
  9. Mentally sighing once she heard him take a seat behind her, she figured he'd be like everyone else, buy her a drink, chalk it up with small talk and then eventually try their luck with her, very few people were lucky and those who were, wished they weren't.
  10.
  11. "Hmm?" she perked, she was the only lady in the place, and she already was finishing a drink someone had bought her not too long ago. "Why?" she questioned, as if she was offended.
  12.
  13. Well. That was an unexpected variable. She had yet to outright confront him about the drink.
  14. A mental shrug later as well as the downing of his own drink, he turned to smile brightly at her. "Honestly, I find it an easy way to get your attention without coming up with some story to make you interested." A physical shrug followed those words and before she might be able to respond, he conjured a small magical light to twirl amongst his fingers, out of sight from most of the patrons but easily within the other's.
  15.
  16. When he went on to explain that a few 'baseballs' had gotten rid of his pursuers she held a look that clearly showed she didn't trust that statement. "Hmm, baseballs huh? Must've thrown them pretty damn fast." she shook her head and then leaned back in her chair. "Kirin Trinity--" the moment he spoke of the relic she had in her pocket her hand tensed tightly around the glass, causing it to shatter and then others looked in their direction. Now that the place had gone effectively quiet and all of the attention was on them she pinched her lip between her teeth. Rage filled her gaze and the area would get increasingly warmer, "You're not going to see it..." she said vaguely, just in case others were truly listening. Blood dripped on the counter, the acidic properties eating away at the wood before she stood up from her stool. "Thanks, Kaelos." she said before holding her hand, mainly to stop other people from being harmed. Making her way to the backdoor of the bar she left her two pistols on the stool beside her. Etched in the metal of the weapons was a reactive red energy, she'd probably want those back.
  17.
  18. Hm. That.. went considerably better than last time he tried this approach. His eyes were drawn to the weapons on the stool and he swept them into two pockets inside his robes. Analytical eyes noted the blood was slowly eating away at the wood and he took his drink with a small nod to the bartender.
  19.
  20. A few steps took him outside the door his conversation partner had left while he sipped his beer, waving the hand not occupied with booze to ward himself against heat and a physical alteration. She was fond of those when she didn't have weapons, throwing punches. Fire was definitely up on the list, but she could also use cold as easily. Maybe he should ward against that as well..? Another mental shrug, worst case scenario he could simply draw himself back to his Echo.
  21.
  22. "I assure you, I have nothing but respect for items of great power, Miss Trinity. No desire to take it from you nor fiddle with it's functions, merely see and understand it. This would be much simpler if you cooperated."
  23.
  24. She hadn't figured he'd study anything about her, especially if he planned on approaching her. He'd know not to. After breaking out into the open air she looked behind her, was he going to follow her? The door pushed open right afterward and she was there, waiting for him. Anyone who knew about that relic knew why she had it, and they also knew what she would probably need it for. Even though the cliche alley was their setting, it didn't make the situation any less serious. "I don't even have what you're talking about!" an obvious lie, and should he notice, even if he were unaffected by the heat, he'd probably notice the radioactive frequency within it as well. Reaching behind her for her pistols she realized they were gone, hands stuck behind her though she tried her best to act as though nothing wrong had occurred. "The last time I 'cooperated' with someone I woke up ten days later!" she simply just charged at the male, and yes, her intention was to punch him.
  25.
  26. Mind racing with answers to this problem, he settled on a simple one. "Arun'dor Shala!" Spewed the arcane words from his lips, time slowing to a crawl as space warped in on itself to spit him out where she had begun her charge. It seemed unwise, but in previous situations attempting to flaunt power over her ended in quiet resentment, so he dispelled the slow-field as he reappeared in normal space.
  27.
  28. He quickly turned, leveling one of her own pistols at her grip-first while bringing his rapidly heating drink to his lips. "I would appreciate if you would simply talk with me, Miss Trinity, this is the fifteenth time I've attempted to persuade you and honestly, it's getting old. Not to mention draining on my reserves."
  29.
  30. As she ran at him, time seemed to go incredibly slowly. It felt as though she were in a dream and now it was the fight of her life. Needless to say she wasn't going to accomplish hitting him, he was gone before the punch could even start. Once she realized that she had missed him her keen instinct prompted her to turn around, where her pistol was given(?). This caused her to stop and hear his words, but only because she figured hitting him again would just cause her to feel that horrible feeling once more. "Fifteen times? This is my first time meeting you!" she exclaimed. Such anger released from an otherwise small female, a bundle of fire with the words to boot. "You're not getting it." emphatically proclaiming that, even though if he were to go with force, she had very little to protect her, at least at the moment. "And how do you even know I have what you're looking for!?"
  31.
  32. "Your first time, yes. My fifteenth. Perhaps you noticed how everything seemed to... slow down? Simple explanation; Time Magic." A small smirk came over him as he downed the last of his beverage, grimacing at it's warmth before flourishing the glass into a small portal.
  33.
  34. "I understand what you're saying. I don't want it, merely to study it. Understand what it does and how it works. As for how I know you have it, you've told me. At least twice now, with contradicting statements. In this timeline. When I mentioned I was an apprentice, perhaps it helps your understanding that magi are apprentices until we master a subject. I have simply yet to do so because I find the studying of everything to be more benefic-"
  35.
  36. His face suddenly contorted and he shuddered, turning to the side before wretching violently, sinking to his knees as he shook his head. ".. ah.. guess I ah.. missed something." He reached into his robes once more and held out her other pistol in the same manner, giving a small smile. "Mercy?"
  37.
  38. Time travel? That captured her attention, centuries had gone by since she lost everything that meant anything to her. The mansion, the people within the mansion, it was more than just a home, it was a sanctuary for her. It gave her purpose, and now she was ready to berid of that purpose due to loneliness. "So you travel through time? Or just slow it down?" a more calm tone, but still on edge. If what he said was true, then he could simply replay the scenarios over and over again until he got it right. "What happened the other fourteen times?" she inquired, wanting to know why the previous versions of her didn't trust him. There had to be a reason. As he explained that he was a scholar and that he merely wanted to study it she thought back to Nyx, and how she had an infinite capacity to learn things, even to the point of obsession. The fact that he could've taken it from her without her noticing said much about him, but why waste time speaking with her? Her distrust was written on her face, and when he turned to do what she had suspected she watched, then shook her head as he did his. "Radiation poisoning, it'll kick your ass..." she took the gun from his hand, and then holstered it. Somehow the heat aura just--wasn't there anymore. "If you run off with it, I'll find you, and I'll eat you." she hadn't threatened to do that to someone in awhile, but with him she genuinely meant it. "But I can't show you here..." it was much too dangerous, the thing was basically a beacon.
  39.
  40. I can travel in limited amounts, back to a- ack, copper tastes awful, forwards or backwards about a full day if my magical reserves aren't drained. As for the other times, they were various plans that didn't work and I'd prefer to leave it at that. I could list them if you-"
  41.
  42. He grimaced as he shifted into a sitting position, starting a spell mumbled under his breath to begin removing the toxins from his body. "-if you really desire. I assure you, as I have every time and multiple in this one, I have no desire to leave with it, merely study the thing." The magi nodded at her last words, giving a small bloodied smile. "Is that to say you're willing to work with me, Miss Trinity? Because I'd very, very much appreciate it."
  43.
  44. "It's not the best of tastes, my blood's not any better. But I'm sure you probably know that. Figured out I was radioactive, that's why I try to stay out of huge cities..." she explained, watching him hack away from the copper taste. "So you can't go far back in time... figured you only explained that because I've asked before..." she was starting to understand that he had tried this multiple times, and rather than learn her combative abilities (evident from his severe reaction to the radiation), he tried to reason with her. The small smile he had was returned, followed with a roll of the eyes. "No, It just means I'm willing to let you study it." she said, watching him sit. "I don't sleep far from here, there's an inn not too far... You can't miss it. Don't follow me." she pointed at his position on the floor. "But, it's room 12, I'll leave the door unlocked for 30 minutes..." she turned, and then proceeded to the very place she had said she'd be.
  45.
  46. He nodded, smile stretching into a grin as he simply took in steady breaths to help cleanse his system of whatever may still be left inside. "Be that as it may, I still appreciate giving me a fair chance." His fingers began to spell out a few runes, each glowing in the air as he once more bent the laws of space to deposit him within the specified room, having been there before. Taking stock of his surroundings, he frowned, reaching up to rub his neck softly while it twinged with phantom pains.
  47.
  48. Now all he had to do was wait for her arrival, the shock and or anger of how he got there before her, hopefully he wouldn't have to rewind yet again. Though, this course didn't work badly, so he could always try it again..
  49.
  50. As she walked away she thought about the small prism inside of her pocket, the glowing and sentient object that reacted with her demonic aura so intimately. It radiated a crimson red, and in the center was a swirl of a black sludge, trying to form something it seemed but not getting it quite right. The prism was no bigger than a rubix cube, but it had the ability to become larger, or smaller if need be. To be nothing and everything at the same time, truly an oddity in any world. When she reached the inn she pulled out the key that was needed to unlock the door. Switching the lock and then opening it she found the male in question waiting for her. "You're making it really hard not to kill you..." she said closing the door behind her.
  51.
  52. "I'd dispute that. It's relatively easy not to kill someone. Though I would very much prefer you don't attempt to eat me again." He gave an easy smile, having conjured a hot meal and bottle of strong alcohol to sit upon the table mere moments before she had opened the door.
  53.
  54. The energies of the artifact weighed on his magical senses like a ton of bricks, emanating a sickly aura from the femme. "If it helps any Miss Trinity, I'm afraid I've never quite gotten this far, so as of now any advantage I had over you is null and void, minus the obvious of Time Manipulation."
  55.
  56. "Yeah, well, you haven't had the urge like I do..." she said under her breath, it was hard to fight that ever needing desire to harm something, or someone. It wasn't easy going against what she genetically felt. "Only if I'm not hungry." she returned the smile, kicking off her shoes and placing them close to the door. She still kept to her normal look, long sleeved black shirts to hide the demonic markings and scars that just wouldn't heal, and shorts to show off whatever assets she had. Aside from the wide hips and prominent posterior she didn't try to flaunt what she didn't have. Although the front was appealing, the real party was in the back. "Assuming you had an advantage over me anyway?" she took the bottle and then flopped in her single-personed seat, popping the top and taking a sip. Lazily kicking her feet over the arm of the chair. "Here..." she pulled it out of her pocket. Once her barehand touched it it reacted accordingly. The black sludge within the middle would seem tortured, an orange aura surging through it periodically and the sludge near forcing to a shape, but nothing concrete. Once it left her hand, via her tossing it, the sludge would go back to being sporadic, no rhyme or reason as to why it moved the way it did.
  57.
  58. The male's eyes flickered for a moment, drawn less to her form as the movement of her kicking off her shoes. Several alarm bells tried to tell him that she could crush him in an instant, but he silenced them. Most mages he dealt with could simply overwhelm him with their own magic, nevermind the beings they summoned. Then again, he could probably channel raw mana into his muscles an-
  59.
  60. Another movement snapped him out of his reverie, coupled with his magical senses screaming in horror at the object flying towards him. His hand came up, first to catch it with a simple telekinesis field, but that slipped right off the artifact like one's feet did ice, so he repositioned to physically catch the item with his opposite hand, clad in an enchanted leather glove. He looked between it and her, an eyebrow raised. ".. So.. this may sound.. stupid, but, what do you know of it that you're willing to share?"
  61.
  62. She figured at one point he'd look at her, let his eyes gaze wherever they would and she partially didn't care. The other part only did because she knew that if he did see something he liked, he'd pursue that, instead of the whole. Still, as she drank her alcohol straight from the bottle she heard his question, seeming to not be phased by the fact he nearly dropped the object. "Not much, I know that it reacts to me when I touch it, I can't burn it, I can't melt it with my blood, and It's not affected by radiation. It basically nullifies everything that I can do, or at least anything I can do to it." she sighed. "I have dreams about it, and in those dreams I see some place, I don't know where and it's always different, but... in my dreams, it feels incredibly important to bring it there." she grumbled. "But, the place is always different... It's like the damn thing doesn't know where it needs to go." hinting that it probably had sentient thoughts and actions. "That's all I know..." not that he would know, but there was an experience she had with the object, one that she left out purposely. "I'm sorry to say, but that thing is nothing more than just a small relic, and it's useless.." far from it, the prism would get incredibly hot in his leather covered hands, like it was protesting being away from its host for so long.
  63. Hm. That's.. actually rather helpful. That would mean it's got a Psychic component to it's spell-work, which include the ability to influence thoughts, but low enough that they're subconscious only. Or.. perhaps it just doesn't have enough power. It's resistant to your effects, so it may be tied to you specifically. Or perhaps it simply attunes to it's wielder." He continued to ramble on several different lines of thought, staring at the prism that became hotter and hotter in his hand. Not that he noticed by touch, this glove was made to retrieve things from molten lava, but it was certainly odd that it began to act up when away from the femme.
  64.
  65. "Where did you get it?" came the question after nearly a full minute of silence on his part, during which he was making sigils on some parchment he had procured from within his robes and strange motions with his free hand. "It.. it doesn't seem to like magic. Everything I try simply slides off, but that only makes me more curious. I'd imagine that I'd get more answers from it's place of making than the relic itself."
  66. Normally ramblings would bore her, but some of the things he talked about genuinely seemed to make sense, perhaps he could help her decipher it? Not that she was heavily versed in magics, some could say she didn't know much about it at all. "Tailored to me specifically?" she saw that he was able to hold it, even though it was giving off an excessive amount of heat, but no hotter than magma, not even close. It was more akin to a flame from a lighter. "I got it, from a settlement. Said they were waiting for 'someone like me'--" she threw in air quotes "-- To come around, and then they bestowed that on me. Been stuck with it ever since."
  67.
  68. Looking at the parchment he was writing on she decided to give him more information on the prism. "It--speaks, but not verbally, through action, or motion..." the information slipped through her teeth as if she were internally struggling with releasing that bit in the first place. "It insists that I power it up, but I have no idea on how to do that or where to begin. But I can't leave it anywhere, If I get too far away from it, it sends out a dangerous shockwave continuously. So I have to have it." it was the reason why she was so pressed with him running away with it. If anyone had known her previously, they'd know she didn't give a damn about humans, but for some reason now, she did. "I'm damned if I do and damned if I don't..." she looked outside, it was definitely dark.
  69.
  70. "Look, it's nice that you want to study it and everything. But how did you find me? Or it? Have you been following me?" if he could find her, anyone could, and that meant she was in danger.
  71.
  72. "Well, about that.. This." He held up the artifact, grinning as he turned it over and let it spit it's flames of defiance from being away from it's owner. "Gives off a unique signature. One that calls to those looking for rare items. If I had little common sense, I'd say it's looking to be caught. But if it can't be removed from you, then it's looking to test you, or merely cause chaos." The mage shrugged. "No good way to tell though. Unless.. we take it to that place it wants to go. I'm sure that'd give some sort of answer."
  73.
  74. "I'm afraid most of my magic just.. slips off, no matter how much power I put into the spell. It's.. rather frustrating and keeps me from getting any concrete answers." He gave the item an underhanded toss back towards the femme, eyes flickering along her form for a brief moment.(edited)
  75.
  76. Seeing how it reacted while being away from her made her chuckle, did it really grow attached to her on some level? And if so, why? More questions arose when even the mage couldn't decipher origin. "Cause chaos..." she caught it when he tossed it, seeing where his eyes flickered. Many people gave her those looks, but not so innocently. At least compared to other times it was innocent. "I think it's mistaken if it thinks I'm destroying anything else." she chuckled it off, and then pocketed it. "Do you have a place to sleep? I'd hate that you traveled this far to get no answers." not always hospitable, but she did understand his disappointment.
  77.
  78. Kaelos raised an eyebrow at her question, a faint tinge of pink coming to his cheeks. "Ah.. no. I hadn't.. thought that far ahead. I figured either I would find my answers and be on my way or be trying to convince you still." He sheepishly rubbed the back of his head and hissed in pain, taking the still-hot glove away to cast an ice spell upon it. ".. why?"
  79. Sensing the heat in his body, more specifically his face, rise she decided to look at him in eyes. Of course the demon had to play with his emotions in some sense, she wouldn't be living up to her species if she did otherwise. "I'm not hard to convince, given reason, but I'm also not naïve either. I figured you knew I didn't have all of the answers. If I did, I wouldn't have this thing on me." she looked outside, wondering if anyone could hear them outside. "But, you can stay here tonight. There's only one bed, but, It'll work." she sounded like she was trying to convince herself more of that than anything. Taking the neck of the bottle she poured herself an official glass this time, and one for him as well.
  80.
  81. "Wanna tell me stuff about you? So we don't have to center around the artifact all night?" she walked and handed him a glass, insistent that he drink from it. "Any family?"
  82.
  83. "Well.. thanks. I wasn't looking forward to using a charm on the local hotel secretary." He gingerly took the glass in his hands, taking a quick sip from it to wet his lips and throat. Ouf, outdid himself this time with the strength.
  84.
  85. "Ah.. no. I'm afraid not. Father died when I was young, heart problems. Didn't know him too well. Big brother went off to join the military and I haven't heard from him since. Mother.. I think she's still alive. I should send a letter sometime, I've been rather focused on my studies and haven't given it much thought. I've learned Fire, Ice, Arcane, minor amounts of Necromancy, some Divination and recently a small amount of Illusion. I'm not fantastic with it though, so they don't often hold up to inspection." He shrugged, taking a longer draught of his drink before sighing with content. Good drink. "How about you? Anything you feel like sharing, other than your bed?" A small grin came over his face, cheeks flushing again, though perhaps not only from the drink..
  86.
  87. "Save the charms for someone a little more deserving, yeah? She wasn't even -that- attractive..." slightly offended, but not much, that he wouldn't use that on her. Although she hadn't given it too much thought, not until he had said he was going to charm someone else.
  88.
  89. "Your family is pretty scattered out, but you don't seem to want to get into contact with them." if she wasn't already, she fixated herself on the bed, on her designated 'side' considering she was sharing it. Towards the left, on the upper portion crossed legged and engaged. She took note of many things, mostly about him, others about his story. "No wife waiting for you?" the question seemed to play right into her palms. Although it was probably masked by him asking a few things of herself, taken back, she figured her answer would wait. "My parents are long gone, I'm actually rather ol--old-er, I've been alive for awhile, this'll make it my eighth century. Plan on living a few more. I've learned fire, it's my main element. From there I've explored explosion and radiation manipulation, as well as the acidic blood you probably noticed." she exposed her forearms, cut marks, not from self-harm, but from using them in battle. "I fight a lot, I love it actually. I crave it, some call me a demon, the others, don't live to tell what I really am..." her eyes held a flare to them, a devious undertone yet it wasn't overshadowed by her attention to his cheeks. "Something on your mind?" she asked, leaning back on the bed, against the headboard. He'd probably notice she left out a lot about her family, and her home away from here, the shortness of her answers raising more questions no doubt.
  90.
  91. Kael shrugged, the spell-work manifesting itself in the air. "Well, I tried it on you the second or third time, but you found that.. in poor taste, shall we say? Besides, somewhere to sleep is nice."
  92.
  93. After pouring a bit more drink into his cup, he snorted in amusement at her first question. "Hah, no, afraid not. Most of the girls where I studied were too into the Archmage to give me a second look and I found that just fine." He nodded, taking another drink to try and cover the slightly bitter tone in his words. A few moments passed and his eyes moved along her form slowly, a thoughtful expression on his face. "For a few hundred years, you look damn good. I've known thirty some odd witches that wrinkled like raisins." The Mage's eyes became sharp and attentive as she spoke of her powers, but almost as quickly the glass of alcohol returned while he raised a hand to rub his chin thoughtfully. "You lack the skin and horns of most demons I've seen, so if it's all the same to you I might just stick to calling you a woman." Anything she had left out of her answers was quickly brushed from the male's mind as her final question came through the fog on his mind and his cheeks flushed a darker red. "Ah, no, just ah.. heh, bad joke.." Came the response as he nodded, quickly finishing off the rest of his drink while refusing to meet her eyes with his.
  94.
  95. He scowled, smiling all the same. "Sometimes." Came the response as he set his glass down. "No, no, Witches are usually.. women who trade themselves for power, and not sexually. They give parts of themselves." Kael smiled, eyes half-lidded as he watched her.
  96.
  97. The sudden declaration she was to call him a man made his body temperature rise, heartbeat beginning to get faster. Was.. she..? Oh. Oh yes. His eyes widened and he took in a fast breath as she crawled towards him on all fours, the mage leaning back on his hands as she got closer, then closer still, finally putting her lips right beside his ear to whisper the words into it. His mouth was dry suddenly, heart rate now racing a mile a minute. The heat radiating from his body would've been more than palpable to a normal person, nevermind someone who could see the heat as she could. ".. a-ah.. well... I.. can't say.. there isn't."
  98.
  99. Every alarm in his mind was going off as he lifted his hand. He hadn't done this before! He didn't know what she could do! But, it seemed she was offering.. something, something he wanted more than he had known he did. The hand came to rest atop her bust, breath coming faster as the blood rushed through his pointed ears. ".. are you.. offering, something.. K-Kirin?"
  100. It was in her nature to toy with those that kept their emotions out so transparently. As she had sat there, on all fours and her lips so close to those increasingly hot pointed ears. Panic set in however when his hand raised, resting atop of her bosom, which made her look at him. There she saw all of the embarrassment, and questioning in his face. It reminded her of the look her first husband would give her when she would do such things. "Hmm?" breaking her trance-like actions for the moment. "Umm---" she went silent, leaning back off of her arms and now just resting atop her knees. "I'm sorry, I was kidding..." she definitely wasn't.
  101.
  102. If he allowed it and she definitely would, there would be a long period of silence. She wouldn't say anything, only give him a glance every few moments or so. It was there when her heart started to beat quickly as well, not so much as his with the mile a minute, but not too far behind. "I can-" she motioned to her eyes. "I can see the heat rising in different portions of your body, and it's fun to...toy with it sometimes." clearly, she had been working on her people skills. Had Kael met her a few years before, they wouldn't be having this conversation now.
  103.
  104. "I think we should go to sleep..." she motioned, to the bed that she was kneeling on, and her side that had pillows scattered about along with a wrinkled portion of the sheets. "...Yeah?" she said with a nervous smile, just like him she didn't realize that she had been starved for such a thing until the opportunity presented itself.
  105.
  106. "O-Oh." Came the simple response. His eyes slowly moved to the floor, cheeks burning brighter. He let the long silence hold, unsure of what to say with his heart in his throat. He hadn't necessarily gotten attached, just.. felt foolish for looking too deeply into a simply joke at his expense. Her explanation faintly reached his ears and he quickly nodded to show he was listening, blinking to catch the steel in his eyes from taking as he looked up at her. "I see. I suppose you did earn that, after my amount of 'toying' with you to get a look at the artifact."
  107.
  108. That.. sounded a little bitter, even to his own ears, and he bit his tongue to simply nod at her next question, reaching up to rub his eyes. Quickly, he doffed his robes, revealing the simple red button-up shirt beneath missing most of it's sleeves. Those revealed several faded scars along his arms, the skin long since healed but telling tales all the same while he climbed into the bed opposite her, resting his head on the pillow as he faced away from her and closed his eyes. Partially to avoid looking at her out of shame, another to hide as much of his embarrassment as he could from a thermal-sighted being. His ears still felt as if they were on fire, he'd only imagine how red they were, never mind his lower region still keeping time with his heartbeat as it strained against the tight fabric of his jeans.
  109.
  110. "Sleep well, Miss Trinity." He mentally berated himself. Did he have to sound so cold? Or.. was it frustrated? Either one, a terrible stance to take with the woman who offered him a bed for the night.
  111.
  112. The coldness of his voice, tone, and actions didn't need to be scanned with a thermal vision to be understood. The look his face held as she had unintentionally crushed his dreams or intentions. She wanted to reach out to him, to apologize. But she simply said nothing.
  113.
  114. "Ka--" she paused, he had turned over and effectively cut her off from saying anything. His skin was red, at least in her eyes it was, and he was much hotter than he was before, indicating he was probably embarrassed. A single hand reached out to press against his shoulder, right after he had wished her a good night, or at least sleeping well. With that press came a grab, and over came her MUCH warmer form. Slightly above the average human, it was potentially welcoming, like a portable blanket.
  115.
  116. Fingertips curiously trailed up those warm ears, moving to his hair to touch in it should he not snatch himself away. "Sulking is a very unattractive look on you..." she voiced, but it was playful. "Look at me..." she commanded, although there was little to no authority in her tone, only a command.
  117.
  118. Her hand closed around his shoulder and for the briefest of moments he was worried her teeth might follow, but what happened next, her warm- perhaps even hot body being pressed tightly against his.. It sent more than a few tingles down his spine. Next came the fingertips along his ears, the warmed appendages sensitive from the elven blood in the mage's veins and it showed as he shuddered, letting out a hot breath when the fingers continued on to tangle into his hair.
  119.
  120. "H-Hah.. is it now~? Suppose I should.. just stop then.." Came his response to her playful banter, and almost as if she had charmed him instead, his eyes were moved to meet Kirin's. By now they were slightly dilated, the fog of lust beginning to cloud the bottoms. Every little spec of his blue eyes seemed to twinkle with contained magic, another shiver running down his spine.
  121. The moment he turned to look at her, she found herself lost in those intoxicating blue eyes of his. Blended with a world that she knew very little about, yet with the time she took looking into them. One would think she knew everything. "You could, put that effort into something else...or.." she cleared her throat "-someone-, else..." she tried to cover it up with the sound of her throat being cleared.
  122.
  123. Although she had many forms previously, this ginger one told many things. Like the blush that was forming on her sun-kissed cheeks, and the fiery hair that covered her forehead. Her body was thick where it counted, and lithe where it did as well. "But you don't have to, if you wouldn't want to..." she reached upward, going to touch his ears again with her fingertips, one hand, brushing over the tips of his ears as if she hadn't seen them before. "Elves are, interesting..." she mused aloud.
  124.
  125. "This may sound odd, but... how many times have you rewinded to get the outcome you wanted?" she was interested in that, perhaps she felt this way because he manipulated it to be so. Clearly she had trust issues.
  126. He hummed, smiling a little as his hips pushed closer to hers. "I think.. I could do that. If it would please you, Miss Trinity~" A wink came from him, the blue eye disappearing for the briefest of moments before returning. One hand moved to rest on her hip, the other moving up to rest on her bust. Any charm he had was quickly lost as her hand brushed over his ears again and his eyes half-lidded, a moan escaping his lips as he shuddered. "Haah.. no, I.. I want to. Very badly~"
  127.
  128. He swallowed as she asked her next question, blinking to try and clear his mind of the haze of pleasure she had helped to cast over it. "Ah.. Fourteen, technically speaking. This.. wasn't entirely the outcome I wanted- not that I'm complaining, mind you.." His hand on her bust began to rub and squeeze gently. ".. but, I was thinking of maybe not getting my ass handed to me by radiation or you trying to eat me. Ah.. in the.. literal sense~" He winked again, chuckling and making pleasurable sounds as she stroked his ear-tips still. They seemed to be more sensitive the closer to the end one got and his hips started to grind on hers. "And, if I could, leave with the relic, but from what you told m- Mnph, me, that's a.. hah.. that's a bad idea."
  129.
  130. The small hum, followed by him pushing their hips together made her back away incredibly slightly. She hadn't actually expected him to be so receptive to her touch, and confident enough to shoot a wink at her. Then again, he had been feeling her up too. The hand that rested on her hip was welcomed, while his hand rested on her bosom "Oh? Tell me about that..." she whispered. Steadily trailing her fingers along his ears now that she knew they were a sensitive area for him and she'd once again take advantage.
  131.
  132. "Fourteen times," she went silent, "What was the outcome you wanted?" she felt his hand squeeze on her, rubbing gently which made her draw in her bottom lip, gripped by her teeth. Her fingers stopped, right before they got to the tips of his ears and they slowly trailed back down, curling around his cheek and lowering to his neck.
  133.
  134. Hearing him go on about the relic in joint with the grinding of their hips, her rational thinking had long found itself out of the window of their room. A forceful hand from the demoness pushed against his chest, while the other (if it was allowed to stay) would be pressed against it's spot on his neck, along his Adam's apple. She'd work her way on top of him, around his waist and straddling him, looking down with a flare in her eyes and body. Noticeably, she was hotter, and her skin tone wasn't as pale as it was before, but not by much. "If you talk about it again, it'll be an even worse idea..." she rose her hand up, slowly, so he could understand the release of her grip and the mercy that came with it. Only to find another spot that blocked the airway, his mouth. Palm covering those lips of his so she could bring herself down to him, letting their faces get incredibly close to the point where she could see the magic that dwelled in the elven eyes of his. "How about, you focus on me?" an incredibly suggestive pair of words followed by an even more suggestive tone.
  135.
  136. A gasp came from the mage as her hand clasped around his neck, one of his moving to wrap his long fingers around her wrist. He shuddered, eyes starting to glow with mana as she pressed him down to mount him and give him the warning of speaking of the relic. When she held up the hand to show mercy, he understood and nodded quickly, taking in a breath of sweet air before her palm covered his lips and she drew ever closer.
  137.
  138. Her tone, along with her words, made his heart feel like it was trying to beat it's way out of his chest. He wasn't entirely sure if he was scared out of his wits or aroused beyond anything he had felt before, but it was certainly something to have the slowly transforming demoness atop his hips dominating his thin form. Kael nodded slowly, eyes unfocused as his hands moved back to her bust, each taking one of the large, soft orbs and squeezing gently before trailing the digits down to her rear to dig into the flesh there. Every little touch on her body seemed to be charged, small amounts of mana working into the skin and electrifying the nerves, making them more sensitive, less painful as to enhance her experience.
  139.
  140. Even if she wasn't pressing against his hips, the throbbing rod now trying to escape his pants on it's own would be very obvious and the mana in his eyes make them look more like a reflection of the night sky than orbs one would see through.
  141. Her mind wandered as her hand stayed firm around his mouth, she could feel the pressing hit underneath of her rump, the steady increase and the growing strain on the mana-filled eyes of the elf underneath of her. A grin formed on her devilish features. "I think I found what someone likes..." she chimed. Those, pesky curious hands of his, capturing her breasts once more to squeeze at them, and it noticeably broke her fortitude. Her lip curled inward again, especially since the mana-infusion was wildly accepted by her. Once they traveled lower, she found herself leaning into the gropes, her hand sliding from his mouth to rest on his cheek.
  142.
  143. Now she was plagued with a decision, to follow through with what her body so desperately wanted, or to believe that he had indeed charmed her like he would've the lady at the front desk. She couldn't help but think of it. Paranoia forever a spot in her head, yet the relaxed nerves helped calm her rapid thinking mind. For a moment those eyes shut, and there was a small chuckle from the demoness' form. "You're cute.." she said, close to his lips before she pressed her own against his.
  144.
  145. Warm, soft, and intoxicating to the touch. One wouldn't assume that someone like her knew nothing of passion, but she knew the very definition of it. Curious hands now traveled to -his- chest, although they weren't mana infused like his own, they were warm. Eager to get him out of his clothing, but not letting their lips break, her fingertips would press to his fabric. Slightly tearing at it until the elf underneath of her was shirtless, with each side of what remained of his shirt on either side of him. Pulling back, Kirin observed the damage, happy with what she had done she leaned upward. Straddling him and the pressing against the rod in his pants she removed her bra, alongside her shirt so he could see what he was so eager to feel before.
  146.
  147. His cheeks flushed and he nodded a little at her sly comment, taking in a deep breath before letting out a shuddering one. Every little motion he made only helped to pour more mana into her form, enhancing the effects of his minor charm as he massaged her reddening flesh.
  148.
  149. Kael simply watched her internal debate, his mind racing at what might happen to him when she was done having her fun. He knew that talking about the artifact was a definite way to death. What he wasn't expecting was her to call him cute, then kiss him. He had no complaints, all things considered, about the soft lips against his. His eyes, like hers, closed to simply enjoy the embrace.
  150.
  151. Somewhere in the back of his mind, an once of rational thought commented on how dangerous this could be for his health, but that was quickly silenced by the sheer amount of pleasure coursing through his form. That same voice had a moment of displeasure as she tore open his shirt- this was a good shirt!- but it was again silenced a few moments later as she removed her shirt and bra, his jaw going a little slack as he made a sound of.. something. His brain wasn't working that well anymore.
  152.
  153. "W-Wow. Uh.. hah. Goddesses above, you keep in damn good shape!" Not to say that he wasn't in good shape himself, he often trained with a sword to keep himself ready for a fight, on the off chance that he got caught in an anti-magic zone. This lead to him having a toned form, though without much muscle mass to speak of that showed through the skin.
  154.
  155. Kael's comments about her form, mainly how she kept her toned body made her uncharacteristically blush. Although her skin was slightly reddened due to the increased heat in her body, it had a peak. Seemingly reaching it on her cheeks while she turned away. Folding her arms in her embarrassment, hiding her exposed top from him. "Hmph..." she didn't want to look at him. Why did he have to say that? To compliment her? Why couldn't he just accept it like everyone else? Internal thoughts racing through her mind before she spoke again "Well, I eat a lot of protein..." mainly because she ate a lot of PEOPLE, and chasing humans needed a body to topple them. This didn't cause the poise-broken infernal to turn back but instead slide downward, avoiding eye contact with him but steadily making her way downward towards the beacon that he was so generously emitting from below.
  156.
  157. Centering her head between his legs, her hands went up to the buttoned prison, unfastening it with relative ease and pulling them along his lithe waist. If he tried to rise up to look at her, she'd simply use a forceful hand to push him back down. Auburn hair covered the majority of her embarrassed face, but there was still the matter of her arousal, and his own that was staring right in front of her. Perhaps it was intrigue, or slight hesitation (who could ever know) but she marveled at his size. Not that she expected him to be inadequate, but, not as endowed as human men. She was clearly wrong. A hand would press to his length, perhaps blocked by a last ditch layer of clothing that would be more frustrating than the pants she had just removed. "You--keep a good shape..." she retorted, probably a joke. Especially how she coiled her palm around the crowned tip of him, imagination beginning to set in, and with that, action.
  158.
  159. Those same warm hands now went to the last line of 'defense' his last chance to back out although the window for that was small, unlike him. Pulling down to his waist, and eventually his knees the demoness finally connected eyes back with him, but only from her low position down at his pelvis. Glancing downward, she slowly opened her mouth while gripping at his base and took him within that warm, spacious mouth of hers. Barreling quickly towards her throat and only to be met with an incredibly skilled tongue. Trying her best to take the bulk of him at once, she found herself reaching close to the base but not far enough. Not without 'help', which is where he would come in. Sliding upward, her saliva cooling along his shaft as the air was exposed to it once more, she looked at him again, before making that member disappear inside of her mouth once again, this time she didn't look away. There was a certain 'haze' about the demoness' movements, perhaps from the charm and mana he had poured into her. He'd notice that the marks along her body, deeply rooted in demonic sigils and markings, would hold his mana well, not like she was absorbing it, but holding it, or letting it merge with her own sources.
  160.
  161. His smile faltered for a moment when she made a discontented noise and covered her chest, eyes having been drinking in the wonderful form atop his own. "Mph, I'd imagine your diet has a fair amount~" Came the quiet joke, though his good-natured smile (hopefully) helped to diffuse any chance he had of becoming part of that diet.
  162.
  163. Then, she began to slide down. And his brain had nothing. Nothing to react with any sort of wit, beyond a blush and to lift his hips to aid her in removing both layers he wore of clothes. He attempted to follow her down, but was quickly flattened to the bed by her strong arms and he settled for simply eyeing from where he lay.
  164.
  165. The first layer was his pants, with the second being more to hold the engorged flesh from making a tent of the first if ever he was in a 'situation'. Much like this, as she revealed the eight inch half-breed wand he carried with him at all times. His breath came in small gasps, as if he couldn't believe this were happening, but he dare not ask lest he wake. "T-Thanks... cardio.. lots.." He breathlessly rattled out, not realizing she had been making a joke while her hand worked magic.
  166.
  167. Of course, as with any sane male, those breathless words slurred together with a single moan as she took nearly the entirety of his length into her, hips bucking upwards on instinct to help stuff her throat with him. He was visibly torn between thrusting into her lips and ensuring he did not overstep, entire body quivering as it radiated heat. "K-Kirin.. oh fuck~" His body now pulsed with magic, every heartbeat making him radiate with raw mana that started to leak into the room itself, perhaps into the demonic runes etched onto her skin.
  168.
  169. ====================================[ FADE TO BLACK ] ==========================(edited)
  170.
  171. The black markings that were littered across her body were infused with that foreign energy source, only momentarily due to the two being so close together and connected for such an extended period of time. The area around them would be noticeably warmer, more so than it would be naturally and yet it was still steadily rising. Slightly tanned fingertips, a contrast to the otherwise pigment-less color of the demoness, would drop over the Elve's ears. Knowing that those had gotten her in trouble originally, she didn't care as she laid tiredly on him. Their bodies not connected but still rather close (she kept his seed with her, after working so hard for it), and it was clear she wasn't moving anywhere. Labored huffs slowly calmed as she pressed her lips to his again, this time slower and less lustful than she had previously done. Almost as if she were thanking him in that embrace she slinked down to press her head to his chest. No doubt his heart was probably beating faster than his mind could process, but she wanted to hear that. It was so much different than her own. "Rewind that if you want to..." she chimed out, first set of words she had actually used dialogue had been lost in the action.
  172.
  173. His eyes were closed, chest heaving with breaths as he pushed oxygen into his lungs. It felt like his brain was buzzing with the overflow of dopamine it was drowning in, only reinforced by the slow massage on the Elven ears. When her lips pressed against his again he made a small sound of pleasure, pressing back into it before she rest herself on his chest once more. "Ha.. ha ha. I.. I dunno if I could take that again, honestly~"
  174.
  175. "So is that saying I'm bad? Or are you just afraid?" she leaned up, her fingers couldn't seem to stay off of him. Trailing on both his ears and then his cheeks and in some odd combination of the sort. Her eyes looked at his half-lidded ones, seeing and sensing how tired he was. "I could..." not now, of course, perhaps he didn't know that. Shifting, restrictive to her own soreness and euphoric wobbliness as she bent over to grab the relic. Perhaps staying bent for a second longer to tease him she pulled out the relic. Climbing back on his nude form into the position she was she brought it between the both of them. Up close the relic was more like a small vortex within a cube, normally chaotic but calmed in her palm, the liquid within it spiraling in accordance to her temporary mana-infused form. "You can't go anywhere with it, without taking me along..." she said, placing it at the center of his chest and letting it rest there. It held a small hum, and had a considerable weight for its size. "So... If you wanna research it, you have to take me with you." she declared.
  176.
  177. "Ah- no, no not at all, just.. worn out. Felt like I went three rounds with a Golem. Uh, in- in a fight, I mean, not..that." Every movement she made on his flesh was making his nerves alight in pleasure, not necessarily of the sexual variety, but something inside still stirred. Eyes drifted to watch her bend over and he purred at the sight, then his eyes blinked when she mounted him once more, then held the highly destructive relic in her palm. Then on his bare chest. Again came the warning bells, but rational thought silenced them, knowing that so long as she was within range it wouldn't annihilate him. "Are you suggesting that we becoming travelling.." His eyes flickered along her form, a sly grin coming to his face. ".. 'companions', Miss Trinity~?"
  178.
  179. Out came the chuckles as he talked about going multiple rounds with a Golem, or something much larger than she was herself. Wiggling her hips along his probably less than full-attentioned appendage, she held a playful glimmer in her eyes. Picking up the destructive prism, she held it between her palms. "I'm saying that if you're going to take an interest in this thing..." she looked directly at him, "--and an interest in me..." she looked back at the relic, "Then I should keep you where I can keep a close eye on you. Seems only fair..." she toppled over onto either side of the bed, using the bottom of her foot to kick at him as she snuck away under the blanket. "And call me Kirin, Kael...." she chuckled shortly after, glimmering with a better attitude than she had displayed earlier in their meeting she placed the tool in question off to the side. Her stomach growling audibly. "mmmmm...." she grumbled. "...fuck..." she threw her head back, thankfully a pillow was there to break its fall.
  180.
  181. "I suppose I could concede that fact, Kirin~" He sighed happily as she got off of him, tucking under the sheets so he could stretch and several pops came from his back. As her stomach grumbled and she threw her head back, assumedly in frustration, he chuckled before moving his hands over her chest to gently massage the still very warm breasts before moving down to her midsection. "You know, my fingers are dextrous for a reason.."
  182.
  183. Slowly he pulled them back, murmuring a few words in the arcane language. A moment later, there seemed to be a small sucking noise followed by an audible 'Pop!' and the smell of cooked eggs, bacon, toast, as well as hash browns filled the room. Beside it was something that looked akin to a dragonfruit, as well as a bucket of ice with a wine bottle and two light ales. The mage shuddered a little, breaking out into a sweat as he reached over her to grasp one of the ales and bring it against his forehead, the amount of mana pouring from his flesh lessened considerably. "Voila, breakfast in bed."
  184. A happy sigh left her when he didn't mind the fact that she could follow him about. Perhaps it wasn't such a bad thing she hadn't gone with her original plan of harming him. His touch over her breasts caused the sensitive tingling tips to scream in protest, assuming their work had been done she jumped from the jolt. Covering herself accordingly with a playful chuckle. "Hmm? But I thought you said you couldn't--" she paused, rightfully so before she made a fool of herself. Food was conjured before her and the smell of it attacked her senses almost immediately.
  185.
  186. The spread would've surprised anyone else, enticed anyone else. But unfortunately for her, the pallet wasn't exactly fitting, of what she craved. Still, to keep appearances she attacked him a sort of hug, making sure not to spill what he had worked so hard to create. "Thank you!" she chimed, grabbing the bacon, considering it was the closest and easiest to play off. She ate the food in a single bite, regretting to chew and skipping to swallowing. Not the most convincing of liars, she chewed the hot air trapped in her mouth for a few seconds, at least long enough to convince him before she stopped. The taste was, repulsive to say the least. But she did it for him, she didn't want to drive away someone who she may enjoy spending time around. "Did that take a toll on you?" perhaps she could distract him, keeping his mind occupied and less on her stomach. Idly grabbing the bottle of wine with her hand, causing the bottle to fog from the contrast in temperatures.
  187.
  188. He took a sip of his ale as he watched her carefully and simply smiled, motioning to the undercarriage of the cart. "A little, but eggs are rather easy to make. It's what you don't see that took the toll, and I'm not entirely sure how you liked it, so I made a couple. I know it may not taste.. the best, but the top is mostly for me, minus the alcohol... well, the wine. You seem like the type to enjoy a vintage bottle. '45, by the way." He winked, a magical hand taking a hearty scoop of eggs and several of the bacon pieces, then two or three hash browns for him to dig into.
  189.
  190. Once she looked, she would find three thick steaks, easily four or five pounds each. The first was Rare, the second was Medium-Rare and the third was cooked through, with the barest hint of pink in the center. They all appeared to be seasoned with a few different sides of sauce to be chosen from behind the platter.
  191.
  192. Bottle in hand, she realized how it must've been for her to just take and not once had she thought of him. Examining the bottle she noticed that it was indeed vintage. "That's...old." she mused, excited as she opened it faster than a kid who had made it to their final gift on Christmas. The aroma tackled and clashed with the others in the air, ultimately her time in that room was a lot more fun than she could remember in recent memory. The thick steaks were noticed and judging by the serving style, as well as the rarity or lack thereof, it was for her. "Ah..." came her mouth agape as she went for what was essentially for her. The rare one was the first for her to grab, reaching to grab her knife from out of her discarded pants. It was an old hunting knife, inscribed with plenty of runic markings and even held the remains of a bird feather on the handle. The metal of the blade was clean though, sharp on the eyes and turned meat into butter. A portion was sectioned off and placed into the demoness' mouth. Suddenly the room wouldn't feel so hot.
  193.
  194. "You're going to spoil me if you keep doing this, I won't expect any less as your traveling companion." she threw his own term back at him, mouthful but in a different way than he was probably used to. Nude form cross-legged as she sectioned away pieces of the meat. Going through the first slab in a matter of minutes, without any real strain on her. The tan in her skin, the tint behind it faded away, no longer rushing within her veins the demonic influences retreated to the depths of her mind, and with it, he'd probably notice the black markings leaving as well. Lips perched around the wine bottle and she tipped it upward, chugging for a brief second before placing the bottle on the countertop beside the bed. "Mmmm..." came her closed eyes and a caress of her own cheek. "I'm trying to imagine the cruel reality when I wake up and you're not there..." she whispered. "And I have to go and get the food myself..." she chuckled, opening her eyes which carried an unnatural auburn hue.
  195.
  196. His eyes were drawn to her knife, magical senses casting out to brush over it without disturbing the energies within as he shoveled more food into his mouth and washed it down with beer, humming quietly. "Well, if that's what you desire, then I would be a fool to refuse. Especially if you spoil me with workouts and not eating me instead." The curiosity in his eyes roamed over her form as the room became cooler, her skin beginning to lighten and the markings fading. Then, an idea came to him and he very quietly set aside his plate, shifting over to begin massaging her shoulders before whispering into her ear. "Would you be disappointed if you were already awake, and I were at your service whenever you desired~?"
  197.
  198. The sense he would probably get from the knife was that of conversion, converting the raw meat he was giving her and even the partial cooked meat into what she could consume safely. A human enzyme found only in, humans, was what she needed as far as nutrients. It was as if it were the only thing her body truly needed. Her mouth went to the tip of the bottle again, drinking now a quarter before she placed it down. "Hmm? Workouts you call it..." she itched the knife on the back of her neck ".. I'd be up for more, working out..." she watched him as he got up, massing her shoulders and speaking in her ear. The demoness visibly shuddered, combined with what she had just disclosed, she leaned back into him, and thus, his touch as well. "You're going to get yourself in trouble Kael..." she warned, moving the tray of food out of the way she leaned herself forward down the rest of the bed. Bent over at her knees, showcasing that previously explored womanhood that he still very much had access to along with her pale pigment once again. Long hair covered most of her lower back and her legs crossed over one another, her thick thighs closing the space between her legs. Then, in a teasing gesture, she lowered her top portion downward, her plump rear cascading into the air before being brought down like the rest of her. Kirin then rolled over, her lithe body and complementing thick assets showing as her stomach glistened. Both from the low lighting and because she was still showing the labors of their previous encounter. Knees lifted upward, still closed, hiding that forbidden fruit from his optic view, but the image probably still engraved in his mind. "...A lot of trouble..." her lip pulled inward, and she looked to him for a reaction, wondering if he could catch onto her advances.
  199.
  200. A deep breath was sucked through his teeth as he bit his lower lip, eyes and hands being drawn downwards while she bent over. Whatever information his magical senses return was quickly ignored by his physical ones, the midnight orbs he called eyes followed every movement she made and his jaw slowly slacked, a slow breath escaping while drinking in the sight of her thick thighs and plump rear were put into full view. By the time she had rolled over, he was back to full mast, practically drooling at the sight of her before his hands moved to grasp her thighs and begin to massage them without moving them from their spot, resting his self on the soft flesh below where his hands dug into powerfully. "Well.. I always did find myself in.. sticky situations.. and I don't think I could magic my way out of this one~" The Half-Elf's lips slowly turned upwards, eyes half-lidded while he again began to give her nerves the barest hint of mana to make them more sensitive.
  201. No doubt she had his attention, it was so focused she could practically feeling it weighing on her. But it was welcomed, just like his adventurous hands that moved on her thighs, closed together for the moment as she rested on her back looking up at him. Seeing that tool of his return to how she was first introduced, she had a grin on her lips that was much like his own. "Hmm, it might.. I'm still a young demon by nature.." she reached up, pulling him down onto her and wrapping her legs accordingly around his waist. She wanted him close, for whatever reason, she did. Her lips inches away from his and back to idly toying with his ears she went. "Things still work," she teased. Pecking him on the lips to get a hint of the intoxicating mana he seemed to be filled with. Looking downward, "And I could say the same for you..." she chuckled, but then nervously looked away. It was, slightly bigger than she had expected, now that she had time to focus. Embarrassed as previous visions of how eagerly she took it before rushed to the forefront of her mind.
  202.
  203. He hummed, enjoying the closeness as his flesh pressed against her own. His hands moved from her thighs to her sides, every little motion made to draw the maximum amount of pleasure from her nerves. Perhaps also to relax the still nervous demoness as he pressed his wand into her slowly, mana beginning to pulse from his body. How he still had any left would be a mystery to those without the capability to find it, but were one to look into his stores they would find a deep well indeed, to a size that would be odd within a mortal frame.
  204.
  205. Her hands on his ears made him shiver and melt under her, eyes quickly clouding with lust as he moaned, that being silenced by her kiss. "Mmnph.. good goddess, if this is what I could expect every time I made you a good meal, I don't think I'd hesitate for a moment~"
  206.
  207. That moment, between his hands going to her sides and him pushing into her could've lasted an eternity, in her mind it pretty much did. Feeling him fill her channel once again as he had previously, her body took to his shape a bit better. Although it was still a firm fit by any means, he'd find that her walls gripped around his shaft, but didn't confine him as they probably did before. A soft, and then labored exhale left the form of the demoness, her form giving a small shudder from the amount of pressure built up and now being inserted inside of her. Their kiss turned into a near feral attempt to bite him, deepening the kiss between the touch of their lips and the savage and near barbaric way she went for him. The bites first started with her taking his bottom lip, akin to razor blades being as they were to tear flesh from bone, her teeth held onto his skin well. But she never once drew blood, just until he was in close proximity. Her mouth would snake down further, probably just enough for him to get those words out, hands following suit down the rest of his body, feeling the natural curve of his muscles however they were. "Not every time..." she said in a higher tone than the rest of her words, "However..." she paused, leaning up so her teeth could pinch his neck. "... I could make you the meal..." she teased, but there was a bit of seriousness in her tone. Perhaps she liked to play with fear, or keep his mind racing, either way her bite would get harder. To a point, it'd stop before piercing his skin, only to bring her hands back down, and relish in their missionary position.
  208.
  209. A small enticing wiggle of the hips was given, a hand snaking down between them both to toy at the bundle of nerves centered where their bodies met. Rubbing slowly, she looked at him, matching his lustful gaze she continued to work on that bundle while he watched. Inner channels tightening around his shaft buried inside of her, she'd let out a small moan. "D-don't just look at me..." cycling through an array of emotions, almost like two people were enjoying themselves at the same time.
  210. ============================================ [ FADE TO BLACK ] ==========================================
  211.
  212. The mage took in a deep breath, chest heaving again as a hand moved up to rub the still-bleeding bite marks on his neck and shoulders. He.. wasn't sure how to feel about this ending. On one hand, he had a really, REALLY good time. On the other... His body throbbed as his heart beat, oozing more lifeblood out of his skin. It wasn't enough to make him worry, but it did make him a little light-headed. "Phew. That.. ah.. wow. What got into you? I don't mind, much, just.. wow." Kaelos' body still radiated mana, but more of a passive leak than a focused exertion. His arm was wrapped around the femme as he stared at the ceiling, wondering just what he had gotten himself into.
  213.
  214. Exhausted, was an understatement. As seconds flowed into countless minutes which later descended into hours and now it was in the calm of the night. Everyone had ran off to their beds and only the creatures of darkness wrestled through the moonless sky. With his arm wrapped around her she didn't stare at the ceiling. Instead she looked at the wall, the only witness to their actions, and it'd keep that secret until the foundation crumpled over it. "It's not what, more.. like who.." she chuckled, making a joke before turning over to him and planting her lips on his once again, this time in a more thankful manner than one of lust or even passion. A hand rubbed at the bite marks on his flesh, perhaps a bit too hard as her finger was coated in the crimson liquid. That liquid later went to her tongue, "You're an elf, and your blood is... intoxicating. I used to have a wife, and she was a vampire, so I got to taste a lot of different blood types. It's nostalgic, I haven't had it since she was alive..." she tripped over a few of her words, but it seemed her attention was drawn to the series of punctures and jagged marks on his body. Snatching herself away, she rested her head on his chest where that beating heart laid. "Thank you. Kael..." she said as she placed her hand on his stomach.
  215.
  216. For awhile, she'd be silent. Catching her breath after having it stripped from her so many times, whether in ecstasy or in punishment that he administered. Still, lazily she found her way on top of him again, his seed very much packed into that thick form of hers. "Now's the part where I normally eat the person I'm with, so they don't tell anyone..." she confessed. "It's...customary. It's just a precaution, I don't want anyone to find me..." she said as she lowered herself down. Her lips going past his and down to his neck where the blood was beginning to possibly dry. Teeth pressed against his flesh in a near harsh manner, but then it stopped, abruptly. Not to startle him into actually defending himself she fell over him in a hug, arms thrown around him the best she could given their position. "I'm kidding, I'm kidding... I like you, Kael..."
  217. The male gave a small chuckle at her joke, his breathing starting to level out as he closed his eyes to simply enjoy the moonlight coming in through the window. Her kiss had him a little startled, having not seen it coming, but the affection set him at ease and let him enjoy it. The crimson liquid coming from his neck had begun to slow, more of a trickle than a flow, until it was agitated by the movement of her fingers against the wound. "Half.." the male begun to correct her, but not loudly enough to be heard over her continued speech about her late wife and his mind made the decision to keep quiet when it made the connection with her state of un-life. Then, there was a weight on his chest and he opened his eyes to see her resting her head upon him. It was... oddly comforting. That brought a smile to his face and he began to run his clean hand through her hair, saying nothing.
  218.
  219. Part of him wondered just how beaten her body was from his sudden bout of nearly feral actions. Another part wondered how different his day might have been had he simply walked away after his initial attempt. The very tired part of him that shared a brain with his lower head mused that it would never have been this good, and he was tempted to agree. That was, until she lifted herself onto him again and spoke about eating him. At first, he smiled, thinking her to be joking, but in the moments after when the demoness lunged at his neck, time seemed to slow. Adrenaline flooded his veins and the injuries across his body would bleed profusely while the magus brought his hands up, drawing upon the last reserve of mana he had tucked away in his earring to begin weaving a spell that, in theory, would tear her insides apart while leaving the outer flesh undamaged.
  220.
  221. The end came too quickly though, even for his skill. Her teeth sunk in nearly half-way through the arcane beginning to form and he begun to shake, eyes wide while preparing to discharge the raw mana offensively should she begin to tear. He could still teleport, slow his body, get help- Then, she hugged him, saying it was a joke and she liked him.
  222.
  223. The breath he had been holding came out as a shuddering sigh and he drew the mana back, hands moving up to rest on her sides. "Fuck, Kirin. Don't do that to me! I was scared out of my wits you were actually gonna take a bite and that'd be it for my magical arse." He huffed, ears and cheeks burning brightly with embarrassment.
  224.
  225. Him being startled forced a small giggle from her. She had felt the increase in heat and knew he had the genuine fear of her eating him. Needless to say if she had that intention, she would've had done it sooner. Seeing that the blood had leaked out of him due to the increased blood pressure, she lingered her finger over it once again. "Half..." she chimed, indicating that she had heard him. Again she stayed silent, letting silence fill their once audio-filled room. There she just looked at him, curling her finger from his wound to his jawline and then to his lips, placing that liquid on his bottom lip. Where she promptly licked it off with her infernal tongue, "I'm not going to hurt you..." she whispered. Then bit his lip, giving it a small tug before dismounting from his form. Nude and proud of it she slinked her way to the bathroom, waddling as only she knew how. The bathroom door laid open and eventually she came out of it, turning off the light and resettling herself in the bed beside him, pulling the sheets above her bosom. "Mmm...." she hummed. "So, there's something else I haven't told you... About the Relic." seemed good of a time as any. "...I'm not the first person it's been 'bestowed' upon. There's more, people, within the relic. They speak, but only in your dreams. You'll hear them while you sleep." she then snuck back over, shuffling through the blanket to make sure her warm body was as close to his as it could've been, without repeating their previous action. "But, I'm here, if they terrify you..." a demon, terrified of voices? She was, being alone scared her. She was thankful for Kael's presence. "Tomorrow, we've got to leave here." looking to the wall past him, past them both. "Your mana signatures, while flattering and... enticing..." admitting that she enjoyed whatever interaction his ability base had with hers. "But, it's a beacon, a marker. They'll find me, and they'll take it." she looked worried, organically so.
  226.
  227. The male took in a sharp breath as she hovered over his freshly bled wound, to keep the black at the edge of his vision. He wasn't afraid of bleeding out, but he was a little light-headed. "I'm ah.. only.. Half-Elf. My mother's side. Part of where I get these dashing good looks~" He grinned, ears twitching upwards for a moment. That grin faded ever so slightly as she placed liquid life on his lips, and his eyes half-closed when her tongue removed it. ".. I believe you." Came the reply, sapphire orbs watching her form leave before he lay his head back down.
  228.
  229. Figuring she might be a bit, he raised a hand and quietly incanted a spell, a crystalline mass flying from the pile of his robes into it. The quartz glowed softly with white light as he pressed it to his wounds, the magic within knitting his flesh back together and stemming the bleeding over the course of about a minute. Feeling better, Kael tossed the spent crystal back into the pile and stretched out, yawning.
  230.
  231. When she returned, he happily wrapped an arm around her and slipped beneath the covers. His ears perked up and he listened as she spoke, taking it in with a small hum. "Thanks for the warning. I.. should be okay, with the whole voices thing." When she spoke of others being attracted to his magic, he chuckled a little. "Alright." A hand came up, beginning to stroke her hair softly in an effort to soothe the worried femme while his other made a few gestures in the air, quietly murmuring words of the arcane before the spell-matrix solidified and there was a pulse of energy that radiated out into the still-silent walls of the room. "If something happens, I'll bring us back to here."
  232.
  233. His jaw opened again, not to say anything, but to yawn as he stretched and pulled his companion closer. "Now, I'm sleeping. You've tired me out~"
  234.
  235. "Tired you out huh? Won't be the first time that happens..." she let out, feeling him assume his final position before she let his heart lull her to sleep once again.
  236.
  237. A few hours would pass before the sun broke through the blackout sheets, a sliver of light where the two curtains met and the sun barging its way into their room. The light was bright, a contrast to the rest of the room and as luck would have it it would fall onto the slumbering demoness. That was until the light made its way to her eyes. A groan from the woman signaled she was alive and well, along with the ample amount of soreness in her body, centered around her pelvic region and posterior. Signs of a good night, at least in her mind. The warmth of her companion still behind her, although probably nowhere near the position he had fallen asleep in. Quietly, the femme shifted. Naked even still she went to the shades and drew them closed even more, making the room completely dark. In that darkness, her eyes were an illuminating red, surrounded with an abyss that seemed void of light and her movements were best summed up as methodical. She found her clothes amongst that, and then left the room without a sound.
  238.
  239. An hour passed, and she'd return quieter than she had left (if it were possible). The smell of iron would fill the room, along with the taste of metal in the air, but then it left quickly behind the bathroom door behind shut. The shower would run, and with it the evidence of her endeavor, they were leaving, no one would suspect it. Water fell on her lightly tanned skin as runic markings receded underneath of her flesh, her hair, black in color, along with the crimson evidence washed down the drain and the familiar auburn color revealed itself. Seeming to shake the skin of whomever had left she came out with a towel wrapped around her, going to Kael and placing a kiss on his forehead. "We gotta go...." she whispered in his ear, turning to go and grab a better change of clothes.
  240.
  241. Kael was certainly not in the same position he had fallen asleep in, jaw now hanging open as he took in deep breaths, not quite snoring but neither was he quiet with an arm over his eyes. He did not seem to stir as she got up, nor when she left. Upon her return, he seemed to have moved around a fair bit more, now covered in a thin sheen of sweat and a furrowed brow, murmuring soft nothings in his dreams. He held that stance until she came to place a kiss on his forehead, her words piercing his dream-state.
  242.
  243. Like a coiled spring, he sat up and backed against the headboard, both hands at the ready and a torrent of arcane energies surrounding them while his eyes glowed an icy blue. His entire upper body flared, runic sigils becoming apparent as their shine poured through his skin. A few seconds passed as he sized up the one who had woke him and he let out a deep sigh, the energy around his hands as well as under his skin fading. Both of the appendages moved so he could rub his tired eyes, the magus not looking to have slept well. "Right. Sorry, forgot I had fallen asleep with.. someone else. Startled me."
  244.
  245. Swinging his legs out of bed, he stretched and called his belongings to him with a simple wave of his hand, dressing in the magically cleaned clothes once more before turning to look at Kirin with a yawn. "Real breakfast or magic breakfast?"
  246. The moment he jumped up she jumped back. There was little to nothing she could actually-do. The demon had gone back to its den, whenever it would return would be when she needed it. Her hands rose, to try to protect herself but nothing came out. No flames, no weapons, nothing came to her beck and call. Heart pounding in her chest and her body relatively frozen. For as long as the two would stand in their momentary stand off, a black tank top over her and cargo pants unbuttoned but fixed at her waist. She looked into those icy blue eyes, they looked brighter with the sun hitting them the way it did. Hearing him come to his senses she lowered her hands, going to the button on her pants and fixing it. "It takes getting used to..." she huffed out, putting on a pair of steel-toed boots and grabbing her holster. "At night, like some fuckin' curse. The demon has a lot more influence than I do..." she pulled the straps up, tightening them and fixing them into knots around her feet. "She takes over too, the look you saw last night, it's... What we used to look like before we were separated ( Revy from Black Lagoon )." her hand circled her mind. "Mentally, we were separated, we can't be parted from the same body. But, we have an agreement. I take the day, she takes the night..." she fastened the belt along with the holster carrying the two rather heavy pistols. "..and as of last night. We share you too..." claiming him like she had staked a flag and marked her territory, it'd probably click why he got lucky twice in the first night. "...But we don't share clothes..." she looked in the mirror, hating the 'tomboy' look on her ginger-clad frame. Freckles and a lack of glasses on her face as she put her hands on her hips. "Damn bitch took my clothes out with her this morning." turning her back to him and focused on the mirror.
  247.
  248. His question caught her gaze within the mirror. Examining her teeth to make sure no bits had made it's way back she styled her messy fiery locks. Using a brush to lazily pull it into a ponytail while she shook her head. "Mmm... not hungry. But you can make some coffee..." she looked to the bathroom door, her clothes, the blood soaked ones, would be tucked into a corner. "Can we go?" she saw him getting his clothes. "We can get something on the way..."
  249.
  250. He listened with intent, groggy eyes attempting to focus on her explanation. "Hm. So.. does that mean I'm sleeping with.. two people? Never took myself for a swinger, but, hey, can't say I didn't enjoy it." A giggle came from the male as he stretched, moving through several poses and gestures as well as cracking his knuckles. His eyes followed hers as she looked towards the bathroom, which in turn led him to the life-stained clothes. "Do you need them cleaned? I've got a spell for that. Never know when you're gonna get bloodied out in the world. That, and it might be easier to lay low without lugging around blood-stained clothes. Especially if there's a story to go with them.. Not that I'm asking, just.." He trailed off, shrugging as he stepped towards the door. "I'll be fine in a few minutes. Though if we can grab a coffee on the way out of town, I'd be ever so thankful."
  251.
  252. The chuckle from the joke was returned as she placed her hand over her mouth. "No, it means you're sleeping with someone with a severe bipolar issue." she corrected. "But, yeah, essentially two people..." after momentary silence she heard him talk about the clothes in the bathroom. "Umm, I'd prefer not wear them. I don't know..." she patted herself down. "Feels odd to, what happens if someone sees me in them? Or worse?" just as they stepped towards the door. People could be seen flooding in droves out of their hotel rooms. "Oh, right!" she turned back, grabbing the relic and pocketing it. Opening the door she caught a few inhabitants walking by, all of them having some sort of mission to get to the larger crowd which was growing by the minute.
  253.
  254. "Did anyone see anything!?" a random man called out from the crowd. Murmuring and speculation beginning to flood as everyone remembered where they were the night before, linearizing their alibis for when the authorities eventually showed up. They'd be able to know the type of attack, mangled corpse, what was left anyways. It fit the M.O. of the others.
  255. "Still want that coffee?" she asked, pulling him by the wrist as they snuck away from the group of people. It wouldn't draw any attention, as more and more people flooded towards them they would be the ones walking away. Diving off into a cafe that was empty due to the commotion.
  256.
  257. "Hi! Welcome, how can I help you guys?" the overly cheerful barista called out as the bell on the door rang.
  258.
  259. Kael nodded sagely at her answers, a small grin on his lips. "No worries. I understand needing to look a certain way." He motioned towards his robes with a small flourish, and that was the end of that conversation before the two walked out the door.
  260.
  261. The mage's attention was drawn towards the crowd, then towards the femme with a raised eyebrow. He didn't vocalize the question, but it was there. "Yeah, I'm still groggy. Coffee makes a mage happy." There was no resistance as he was pulled away from the group, casting an illusion upon the both of them to make them less noticeable towards those who might be seeking them.
  262.
  263. Strolling up the barista, he gave a charming smile and slid a fifty across the counter. "Large Half'n'Half, two shots of caramel, one of espresso, as well as a banana muffin, double-chocolate brownie, to go. Thanks, doll." Then, he glanced back at Kirin, raising an eyebrow for the second time in a small space. "You want anything? I'm buying."
  264. "Umm, yeah, latte, caramel please?" she looked between them both, "Large." she looked outside to the crowd, wondering what they were musing about.
  265.
  266. "Seems to be an early start in the morning! Everyone's up early..." the barista chimed in, taking the money from Kael. When he called her 'doll' she ran a hand through her hair, opening the register she handed him his change. "Here ya go, it should be right out!" The female ducked off to fulfill the order made by the two of them.
  267.
  268. Kirin knew the question was there, he probably wanted to know what happened, all of it. Truth be told, she wasn't completely sure of what had happened, only the result. "I don't know, if that's why you're looking at me like that..." she defended before he could even get a word out. "And... thanks, for the coffee..." she flopped onto a barstool, resting her palm against her cheek. "So where are we going? Back to your secret lab so you can run tests on me and the relic?"
  269.
  270. Unbeknownst to the two of them, the barista's attention would gravitate to their conversation, long enough for her to hear that last bit before she brought them their order. "Here ya go! All ready for you, I made the latte cold brew, it tastes a bit better that way and you didn't specify." she slid the cup to Kirin, and then handed Kael his with a smile.
  271.
  272. "...Thanks." Taking the cup, she adjusted her glasses on her face while trying not to harm the Barista's. "Ready?" she looked over, swallowing that anger to not cause yet another incident.
  273. "Yeah, no kidding. Thanks~" He nodded, throwing her a wink as he took the change and slipped it into a pocket up his sleeve while moving to sit upon a seat. His attention returned to his companion quickly, interlocking his fingers and pressing them forward to crack the joints in them. A happy sigh came from his lips before he wiggled them, quickly making a few arcane signs as practice.
  274.
  275. "If you don't know, you don't know." Came his simple response to her answer, a small smile of thanks to her thanking him for the coffee accompanying a dismissive wave of the hand. "Well, if you simply must know, yes. I've got an underground lab in the Upper Arctic Circle, staffed by golems that operate the place twenty-four-seven. It's got all the essentials of home as well as a trans-dimensional gateway I can channel for easy access."
  276.
  277. The magus didn't seem the slightest bit surprised as the barista showed up, his ears having twitched upon her starting towards them. He took the coffee with a smile, tipping the cup in thanks before taking a small sip of it. "Mm, perfect. Thanks." Kael looked back at the femme, taking another sip. "If you are."
  278.
  279. The wink nearly earned the barista an early demise, was the amount of jealousy she held connected to their one night together? Probably. Still, she had a right to claim what she felt was hers. Fingers interlocked calmed her forever darkening thoughts, which broke at the sound of that content sigh. "Hmm.." she hummed to his comments, until he talked about -actually- having an underground lab. Chalking it up to a bad case of plot convenience she went along with it, not that she knew anymore or less to do. "So what? You just, travel through time picking up broads, relics and coffee?" she watched him take the cup and a sip from it. "Yeah, let's go..." a final nod to the other female and then they were out the door.
  280.
  281. For the most part the crowd had grown tiresome of watching what was a mangled corpse in the middle of town, if people could ever become desensitized to such a thing. The body was still warm! Still, as more important tasks and officers cleared the area they'd get their first glimpse at the person in question. Kirin looked over, although her instincts told her otherwise. Memories rushed back of the encounter, as it did every time. Pausing, clinching her coffee tightly so she didn't spill it in the intensity of the memories hitting her she still kept pace with Kael. The way out of town was close to the hotel, the area they were in was more of a rest stop than it was anywhere worth noting, plenty of adventurers, travelers and undesirables walked through.
  282.
  283. A small labored breath left from the demoness' mouth, followed by a shaking of the head. "Do you have any children? Would you ever want any?" an out of the way question, but it was different than the alluring death topic surrounding them. Speaking of life seemed better.
  284.
  285. Kael let out a small laugh at her comment, grinning as he took a bigger gulp of the coffee. "Sometimes it's studs with artifacts and tea~" He gave Kirin a wink, a small blush on his cheeks as memories of past adventures raced into his head. Then he got up, slipping a hand into his pocket and half-offering her his arm to walk with as they left.
  286.
  287. Eyes drawn to the crown that was thinning, he attempted to get a glimpse of the body. His grimace was covered by another sip of the almost-finished coffee, humming in delight as the sweet nectar at the bottom slipped past his lips. Nearly Half-way into their walk back to the hotel came the question from her lips and he furrowed his brow in confusion, opening his lips to respond, they were swiftly closed in the same instant.
  288.
  289. "I'm not sure. Perhaps there are little ones with my blood in them running around somewhere out there, but I'm hardly a father to any. The closest I came was an apprentice who looked suspiciously like a femme I dated a while back, nearly thirty years ago. Do I want them?" He shrugged, looking at Kirin with inquisitive eyes that drank in her details. "I dunno. Takes the right person, I suppose."
  290.
  291. The conversation was more a ploy for passer-byers than it was for anything else, but the information was--accepted. A small nod while she walked beside him, albeit without his arm over her considering she had declined it back at the shop. "I have three." she admitted. "Two daughters and a son. Although I've never met them... they're not mine to meet." the last part of the sentence held a bit of regret with it, as if she had tried countless times only to be welcomed with the inevitable. "I've always wanted some I could though, who knows. Maybe one day..." she trailed off, seeing as he was looking at her, for good reason. "...One, day.." she repeated, nervously looking away. "... True, don't want to fall into the ever broadening area of children without their fathers. Turns out terrible for them in the end." she chuckled, as they left the town and was met with two things: A dirt road, and wilderness. For what stretched for miles one could see trees and a tiresome walk ahead of them, followed by the sun, the only true companion on a journey such as theirs.
  292.
  293. "I used to be an apprentice, not for mage-craft or anything else, but for fighting. I guess it'd be a student or a prodigy, but the same thing right?" she looked to him for confirmation, not that she needed it as she went on moments after. "I've learned plenty of fighting styles, weapon arts, mastered some. But never touched mana-resources. I've always wanted to, but, I was warned I probably shouldn't." one boot in front of the other caused dirt to shuffle. Wilderness budding around them and the fresh coat of spring being pushed onto them [pollen, in small quantities], a sniffle left the female. "Something about discipline, and my lack of it... who knows." she sighed and ran a hand through her hair. "I've been using fire for as long as I can remember...." obviously there was a competitive spirit even in the non-possessed state. To continually evolve was deeply rooted in her, a hunger for power only amplified by the relic she held, which laid dormant.
  294. "I don't know why you'd be interested in such a thing," she pulled out the relic, examining the black substance in the center that was less animated than it had been when the demon touched it, almost to a stand still. "...Damn thing is more of a burden than it is something to be admired." perhaps it was, but in the light, with the rays of the sun. Very faint markings could be seen written, near inscribed on the outer material. Faint markings that with enough time could probably be restored to some sort of literacy
  295.
  296. He nodded, seeming satisfied with her words as his eyes drifted to the woodland surroundings. A grunt of approval came from him when she asked of apprenticeship, his mind abuzz with formulating a portal spell, as well as what effects it could have on the local populace. The mage listened to her ramblings as a quick flourish of the hand made equally quick work of the cup still within it and causing his eyes to become a solid blue. "You have discipline, you just forget to use it. A natural curse of those gifted with fire, they are as volatile as the element."
  297.
  298. The Magus stepped to the side of the road, raising his arms in a circle before bringing them down and forcing his hands outwards from his chest, the ground in front of him becoming charged with arcane energies as it reformed into a circle. "Alana'shu Verok, Taelindu Girava." With those words, the world seemed to slow to a crawl. The air itself seemed to rebel as it was torn asunder, the plants around withering as their life force was drawn into the circle and repurposed as raw, black mana to fuel the greedy hole in reality.
  299.
  300. Kael looked to Kirin and motioned towards the portal, eyes wreathed in ice-blue flames. When his lips moved, it took a few moments for the words to reach her. "Come. Let us be gone, before others find us." Before he had finished speaking, the male stepped through the portal. Beyond was a clean, metal space with dark green lights and he appeared to be speaking with a metal man- one of the golems he mentioned earlier, perhaps? Only one way to find out..
  301. "Add it to the list of other 'natural curses'." she chuckled out, stopping once she saw his eyes become a solid blue. Panic set in, she had only seen them like that when he was worried, perhaps he had picked up on something while she rambled. Turning around to look behind her she found the same view as the one before them, save for the companionship of the sun. So what prompted the response?
  302.
  303. A spell, no less. The duo had paused and when he casted the spell, a circle was laid in its wake. At first she figured he wanted to show off his geometric shape skills but when the area around them slowed, the air thickened to a standstill and it seemed like life itself was nothing but a catalyst to something further, she was no longer concerned they had followers. Now seeing the power of what mana could hold, behind those eyes of hers the demon smiled as a Cheshire cat would, knowing that it had found its own gem.
  304.
  305. The non-verbal motion to the portal got a hesitant look from her. Kirin trusted Kael, but portals not so much. She didn't like this power, something within her told her that, while the other rushed towards it. It was different, too different and before she knew it she had subconsciously found her way through. Stepping into a world that was a complete contrast of the one they had just left, she looked behind her, and quickly to the ceiling if there was one. "Hmm?" the panic on the gingered beauty's face quickened when she saw the metal man. "Where is this?"
  306.
  307. Kael turned as she stepped through, seeming to be done his conversation with the metallic being before it trod off to likely do whatever he had told it. A few steps took him towards a console and he pulled a lever, the large gateway in it's frame shutting down as it sputtered spitefully. The omnipresent hum that existed until that point slowly whittled down to a low rumble beneath the floor of sheet metal, the room seeming more akin to a giant sized metal box than anything.
  308.
  309. His eyes seemed normal now, staring at her with amusement as a sly grin came across his face. "I told you, didn't I? My lab in the Arctic Circle, Staffed by Golems. Granted, there are only two, and it's about eight rooms in total, but home is home, right?" He winked, snapping his fingers to change the lights to a dull white instead of their green before shrugging out of his robes. He still wore the torn shirt beneath, several scratches she- or perhaps the demon- had inflicted upon him still an angry red.
  310.
  311. Another two snaps in rapid succession brought glasses to his hand and a bottle to the other, the cork popping itself as he filled one for him, eyes asking if she wanted one as well while a soundtrack of some upbeat electronic mix began playing from hidden speakers. "I'll give you a bit of time to adjust, despite the heating it still probably feels awful to you, but I'm attuned to the Cold Dark, thus less affected by temperature changes. Afterwards, we'll begin a few tests, I'll show you to your quarters, if you'd like your own, or we can have dinner, meat's on the menu, then turn in for the night. Any questions?" He spun on a heel, downing his drink before throwing his arms to either side on a particularly bass beat, a wild grin on his face. "If not, welcome to Domus Ad Callum, we hope you enjoy your stay~!"
  312.
  313.
  314. Combat boots clicked upon the ground material as she approached him, not catching the end of the conversation with the metallic structure before it had went off. Naturally untrusting, she found it odd. "What was that about?" she asked, probably hidden under the sound of the gateway tearing itself open, revealing what laid behind it.
  315.
  316. A quick flash to his eyes, the blue had faded and there were the captivating and intoxicating oracles that she was used to seeing, a small grin to assure him when he talked about home. "Yeah," a smile came that forced her eyes to a close. "Especially when you've lived in homes like I have. Eight is plenty..." to further her sense of comfort, she figured she would unholster the two heavy pistols that laid in their respective slots. Lowering them to a nearby couch arm, she took the drink he offered, examining the marks from their encounter the night before as well. "Never took you for one to carry trophy marks openly." she said after her first sip. Unfortunately she wasn't the drinker the demonic entity was, tipping the glass in his direction. The music faded in nicely, and her anxious being must've alerted him, given he said he'd give her time to adjust. "Umm, sure, it's just the teleporting--thing. I'm not good with it. I'm not good with tests either..." the temperature changes weren't at the forefront of her worries, but now that he spoke of it. It was uncomfortable.
  317. A theme that'd present itself, especially now that she had been brought out of her element and into his. That aura of heat made itself known, spreading out to the far corners of the room should it be allowed to. Radiating from her form and heating up the small area around her. "Oh?" came the amused tone as she was told that she'd have her own room should she decide to go there, as well as what was on the menu. 'Meat' standing out to her the most considering he hadn't specified it. "We?" an odd choice of words, but perhaps she was being overly skeptical.
  318.
  319. Another sip of her drink came.
  320.
  321. "What are the tests?" she mused, clearly bothered by the term
  322.
  323. "Eh, home is where you can drop your pants, right? No need to hide anything here and the cold air is nice." He smiled, motioning with his head towards the door as he began to walk. "That's fair. I know when I was learning to teleport I had to make sure my stomach was empty. Now it's nothing~"
  324.
  325. He felt the heat spread and smiled, closing his eyes ever so slightly to bask in it. Nothing had said he didn't enjoy the cold, just that he was used to it. "Well, Me, Myself and I." He motioned to his left, then right. As he did so, copies of himself stepped out from behind to stand in accordance with the Magus, the left smiling slyly while the right stood with analytical eyes. "It's useful to have more than one pair of hands when working with volatile magical creatures, such as yourself. The tests are nothing more than simple.. y'know. Poke you with sticks and see what you can kill." Kael shrugged, splaying his palms out to either side as his clones gave him high-fives.
  326.
  327. "Of course, this is all within your field of 'yes' or 'no'. I'm not going to force you into tests and one of the labs can contain a thirty-five megaton explosion on construction, nevermind when I magically enhance it, so I was also going to test the artifact. See how bad it blew, see what it's resistant to, see if it's got any markings or distinctive build-patterns that relate to ancient civilizations, ecetera."
  328.
  329. "Umm, sure?" she answered with a quirk of the brow, subsequently rolling her eyes while idly finding things for her fingers to do, normally resting at her pockets. The clones were--interesting, she had remembered someone who also used different clones of himself. But those uses were for more malicious things...
  330.
  331. The smile on the left clone unsettled her, causing her to take a step back on her heel, shifting her weight to examine the one who was examining her. "Volatile, hmph..." she turned her head from him, perhaps she was offended? Either way her feigned offense didn't last long, especially when he went onto the tests. "So you'll have me kill things?" she questioned. "I...don't have any real abilities at the moment, you'd have to wait for the night. Unless, you want me to go fetch her?" clearly the thought of tests had gotten to her, and perhaps there was a story there too.
  332.
  333. Anxiety built up to the point of her fingers beginning to shake involuntarily and the heat aura would creepily crawl upward, not to an uncomfortable degree--yet. "I know but, I think I'm not suited for it, I probably should go get her. I'm pretty sick still from the teleporting." she ran a hand over her forehead, trying to reinforce the fact that she was actually tired.
  334.
  335. "Well, not right away. You can take a rest if you desire, or we can do some low-stress tests. I'll also relieve you of your 'burden', if you would be so kind..." The clone on his right stepped forward with an open metal box, cold eyes never leaving hers. Almost as if there was a test going on right now and it was the one to grade her.
  336.
  337. The clone on his left took a few steps forward as well, each one making him bounce ever so slightly before he held out a hand, charged with mana. "To calm your nerves. We don't want them being shot before high-stress situations, that could skew results and slash or get you killed." He winked following these words, with Kael rolling his eyes behind the two. The Magus himself turned, beckoning her with two fingers over his shoulder as he started through the door into a metal hallway. "Do try not to have too much fun with those two before we start~"
  338.
  339. The moment the clones took steps towards her she took a step back, while one was staring directly at her she saw the other with a hand charged with mana. Unsure of what she should particularly do with such a gesture, other than take his charged hand. Therefore she didn't take it, out of being uncomfortable with the idea. "Umm, thank, you?" she backed away, more when she saw him enter through a door and down the hallway. Kirin followed quickly behind. When she was away from the two she nudged the Magus "Those two are, weird. Seeing three of you at the same time is odd. Especially because they just listen and follow orders it seems." returning to herself, condensed and now she did feel the genuine fatigue, perhaps from feigning it for so long.
  340.
  341. "When he said 'burden' what did he mean?" she asked, looking up at the taller half-elf as they walked in the hallway. "Probably me being sick..." she answered her own question shortly after, mumbling something inaudible under her breath.
  342.
  343. While she enjoyed Kael's company, there was much written on her face that showed she didn't enjoy being the focal point of experimentation. Anything that was done for analytical practices, more specifically on her, made her weary. "I'm sure you bring all the girls here too huh? Show'em your big place and your clones. Must like orgies with yourself a lot..."
  344.
  345. The clones watched her walk away, then looked at one another. They both sighed and began to follow behind at a respectable distance. Kaelos looked to his side, smiling a little. "I suppose they are to someone who's not used to it. They're only fragments, after all. Kae is the one with the smile, he's.. a people person. Los is the other, he's just another brain to bounce things off of honestly. They only follow orders because they don't have enough of me to want anything else beyond a purpose." He shrugged, having acquired a tablet with a touch-screen from somewhere along the walk and tapping a few things, adjusting bars whose labels were made in sigils.
  346.
  347. "I believe you had mentioned you felt as if the artifact was.. more of a curse than a blessing, or something as such. He was attempting to be witty, but that usually falls to Kae." Up until this point, he had been rather calm and collected, like a predator in it's lair. Her comment finally broke his cool façade and made heat wash over his cheeks, as well as his pointed ears. "Ah, 'hem, I ah.. no. You.. would be the first sentient visitor. Well, the first.. that I brought. Intentionally. Guest, I suppose?" His eyes drifted over to her, seeming inquisitive. ".. are you hoping to get filled by three of me? Because, I mean..." The magus trailed off, letting the implication and offer hang in the air as they continued to walk.
  348.
  349. If one were to be paying attention, it seemed as if they had walked for a mere minute or two, several signs directing the occupants to various rooms. 'Mess Hall' said one, 'Sleeping Quarters' another. There was even one labeled 'Artifact Storage', under the one that said 'Test Zone' which the two were proceeding towards.
  350.
  351. Kirin remained silent for awhile, letting him speak and explain the abode in which she found herself in. If she had to be honest, she felt pride in the fact that someone who owned this, or anything akin to it would be looking for her. That same pride was rivaled by the fear that she would disappoint, but that thought was shelved away with the other negative ones. Seeing as he was pressing keys upon a touch-screen she tried to look over, even successful in doing so she had no idea what the sigils meant, or how to depict them. "Must get lonely..." she added, right as he explained she was the first person he had brought willingly to this place. "Maybe I should stay..." she prompted, not that she had a house of her own to go to. It was just--quiet, in that mansion.
  352.
  353. His comment about the orgy made her laugh, quickly, but she lost herself in it. "No no no..." she managed to get out between chuckles and breathing. "I don't think I could take that much, I've never been with that many people at once, even if they are all the same person..." she wouldn't be opposed to it, if the circumstance arose. "It's only a burden because -she- takes value to it so much. Sometimes I wish we were rid of the whole thing, but, obviously we can't be done with it--" when the paths divided, she looked to the room labeled "sleeping quarters". "So I assume this is where you said you'd dump me off at?" joking, and bringing her attention to the Test Zone which the others had been moving towards, she followed without much hesitation.
  354.
  355. "Sometimes, yes, it does. So you're more than welcome to if you desire." Part of the mage stopped to look at himself. He hardly knew this woman, yet he was offering her to stay in his home which he had purposely built to get away from the rest of society?
  356.
  357. And yet.. she wasn't really part of that society, was she? She was.. another like him. A power that people feared, thus shunned. As he was musing these thoughts, she began to laugh at his sidelong comment about having multiple of him and it made him grin. "Well, if ever you change your mind..~" He winked, shaking his head ever so slightly as he listened, still imputing things into the tablet. Adjustments to bars, changing some data values, if one didn't know any better, they might just assume him trying to look busy.
  358.
  359. "Only partially. I had another thought so we'll be going to a different section of the test site than originally planned." He turned, tapping on a section of wall that opened into an elevator. After stepping in, he tapped a button and held the door for her, smiling warmly.
  360.
  361. At first her quip about staying with him was only a joke, something that she didn't expect for him to take seriously, nor answer the way he did. Logging it in the back of her mind, she allowed her optimistic mind wander to the possibility of staying with him. Eventually come to build some sort of future, or something. Collecting relics, perhaps even learn to manipulate mana as he did. A reality that was shrouded in convenience, and perhaps her own optimism too.
  362.
  363. Seeing as he was occupied with the tablet she didn't say too much more, not until he talked about going to a different test sight. "I didn't even know where the first one was going to take me..." she quipped, knowing that if the test involved combat she'd be virtually useless. Unless she called upon the help of the other side. Stepping into the elevator she looked up at his warm smile, inquisitive and untrusting eyes scanning him over. "What are you so smirky about?" she questioned, folding her arms. "I can't wait to run through these hoops for you." if sarcasm could kill, she'd be the most dangerous woman alive.
  364.
  365. He shrugged, still grinning. "Not every experiment I get to study something so nice on the eyes as you." The doors closed with little more than a hiss and a lurch of steel on steel. "Of course, if you're so against it, I can be an emotionless machine to poke and prod you with age old torture tools in the name of 'science'." His eyes flicked over to her and for a moment, they were cold as the void they oft represented. If one had any doubts that he would live up to his words, they could be cast aside as quickly as they appeared. Then, he smirked again, a playful fire reigniting in those blue orbs.
  366.
  367. The cage came to a stop and the doors opened, Kael stepping out into a room that looked like a stereotypical mad scientist's lab minus the tesla coil. He had stepped towards a console and inserted his tablet, chuckling softly as a new interface projected itself upwards. Several button taps latter and two of the machines the looked more akin to Iron Maidens moved along rails to link into a large machine. "So, what I'm thinking is that I'll try to separate you and your.. other. Not permanently, just like.. how Kael and Los are, pieces of a whole."
  368.
  369. "Well, I would hope not... a girl might get jealous..." she said in a quiet tone, hearing the doors close with a shockingly quiet murr for the material involved. Arms still folded, she felt an unnerving chill crawl up her spine at the foreshadowing glare he gave. For the sake of 'science' was not a mode that she wanted to see him in, although the darker companion inside would lunge at the opportunity. When the hue's vibrance returned, she appreciated them more.
  370.
  371. Upon reaching the other room she stepped out of the doors first, mainly to greet the new platform and get a feel for it. The other was to get out of the awkward situation she had just found herself in not moments ago. Examining the many capsules and beakers around she took little note to his tampering with the console. She couldn't understand it, so why glance at it? However when the two machines she -did- recognize came into play, she watched the center machine fit them perfectly. "Why--would you want to do that?" curiosity replaced anger and anxiety. Walking up to the console she took a more in-depth glance than she had before, now that it directly concerned her. "What if she breaks away?" worried now, but eager for the opportunity.
  372.
  373. "Well, that way we could test you.." He pointed to the femme, palm-up as his other started to adjust bars and input a small series of sigils before digging through a drawer. ".. and her.." The finger drew back towards his chest and tapped the center, eyes not leaving her. ".. at the same time. It would also make any containment easier and you may find you rather enjoy being apart. If she tries to leave, well.. that's what I've got gadgets like this for." The hand that'd been looking for stuff pulled out a thick collar made of smoothed black metal.
  374.
  375. It had at least a dozen runes inscribed in it's surface and all of them pulsed faintly with red energy. "It should limit her powers by siphoning excess and should she act up.." The Magus' eyes became hard ice, a hunger that seemed to be endless staring into- no, through her own orbs, as if he was only half-speaking to Kirin. ".. then I'll force her down into a pit and drain her of any energy she creates to power my facility until she begs for me to kill her." As if to accentuate his point, black energies began to ooze out of his frame, the tendrils slowly sweeping through the air. Almost.. alive. Seeking something. Then, they were pulled back and he blinked, the starry night returning from it's hiding to match his cheery tone of voice. "But, that wouldn't happen, now would it~?"
  376.
  377. Test me? But I have no real ability, if you count me being able to start small flames by myself an 'ability'." she chimed as he would adjust bars and input sigils on what he did. "Her? She's... dangerous, by herself." she added, but it seemed as though he was fully into the idea of separating the two. With plans to divert her worries if they arose. With the thick collar being put into play, there was a small flare of resentment behind those eyes of hers, as if the demon inside was already protesting any sort of 'leash' that he would have on it. Inquisitive eyes scanned the runes however, seeing how they had an energy in them. When he explained why it would work, she nodded with a soft 'hmm' added behind it.
  378.
  379. Not that Kirin didn't trust him, but she hadn't been apart from the demon in quite some time, and it was never a permanent venture. "Good luck..." was all she said, or it would've been. But again it seemed he had a darker portion of him like she did with herself. Hearing what he could do was one thing, but seeing it, the dark energies of himself spewing out of unseen pores and a few tendrils made themselves known. This caused the duo to step back, even though they were in a singular body he'd probably be able to tell both of them agreed on that action. "N-no, it won't..." she rubbed her forearm nervously. Stepping to the machine, "So which one do I get into?" trying to change the subject, while also getting that thought out of her mind.
  380.
  381. "That's alright. I'm sure I could find.. other ways to test you." He winked, twirling the collar several times before tossing it to the femme. If he noticed the emotion from the creature within her, he didn't show it and began to fine-tune a few things on the screen.
  382.
  383. A flip of a switch and the machine came to life, the metal beneath her feet hummed. The spikes inside the iron cages retracted, replaced with hard-light constructs, some of which were braces and others that seemed to be for insertion or removal of organic materials.
  384.
  385. His next move stepped him up onto the platform beside her, motioning towards the left maiden. "You go into that one. She'll come out the other. And I'm not going to lie, it will hurt. I'm quite literally cutting a piece of you out. I say cutting because I'll be able to stitch it back together rather easily, unlike a rip or tear. Well, the machine, not me, but.. I built it, so I'll still take credit~" His aura exuded a sense of satisfaction, half-lidded eyes watching her for any additional reactions to this new information.
  386.
  387. Alternative testing methods for her seemed more of a reward than it did a burden. Still, there was always a pass or fail when it came to tests. Failing meant more, passing just meant harder tests. Caught between a rock and if she examined his body, she'd be able to find the hard place. Catching the collar and examining it closer now, it wasn't her eyes that was looking at the object, especially considering she assumed that the object wasn't for her. Holding it in her hand she saw the other gadgets on the machine whirl and spin, pain wasn't something she was against, as he would know. Didn't mean that she sought it out however.
  388.
  389. "The pain will be fine. I'm not opposed to it. You should feel what it feels like to have her inside you..." she paused, not for a joke, nor comedic relief, but because it was dawning on her that she had forgotten what it felt like to not feel that pain, or have to worry about it, suddenly she was a lot happier. "That's fine!" not chipper about being cut open, but definitely more into it than anyone else who had been delivered the news would've been. Stepping into the confines of the structure presented to her, she awaited for him to start the process, whatever that entailed.
  390.
  391. His confidence was momentarily mired by confusion, but he quickly took it as an advanced case of masochism. A shrug of the shoulders later and he stood in front of her within the cage, taking the collar to put it around her neck softly. It was neither tight, nor loose, but enough one would take note of it's presence. Immediately any influence the demoness had would be quieted, as if someone had placed a pillow between it's presence and hers. The runes upon the trinket pulsed softly, starting to glow all the brighter as Kaelos helped to secure her within the bindings. A smirk came to his face as he had the idle thought that she may enjoy this, and certainly wanted to test that theory later.
  392.
  393. A hand came up, gently and hopefully comfortingly stroking her cheek while he placed a kiss upon her forehead. "Next you see me, you'll be a different person~" A wink followed these words as he closed the cage, engulfing her in darkness minus the light blue glow of hard-light instruments. He repeated the process with the other cage, ensuring both had their bindings and power feed without decay. Then he went back to the console and hit the largest of the sigils, beginning the process.
  394.
  395. It was invasive from the get-go, the tool feeding into her flesh and soul as they searched for any trace of the demoness. When they found it, she was literally cut out and stuffed through the tubes into a new body, one that resembled the form she admired, or perhaps one of her past self? Whatever the case, it seemed to last hours. The pain dragging on and refreshing itself at every tiny piece it found to remove. Finally, when it was done, the bindings released Kirin and the cage opened to reveal the mage standing there, arms out as he knelt to catch her if she needed it.
  396.
  397. When she was better fixed into the machine, she felt him move the collar around her neck. Hesitant at first, he'd see her hand go to stop him, but quickly, forcefully, thrown down. The fit wasn't terrible, nor was it something she could easily slip out of, which played into the point even more. Still, if she refused, any of it, she wondered if he would've gone through with it anyways. The machines seemed constructed to hold down unwilling participants, alluding back to what he had said earlier that she was the first willing participant to go there, she had her doubts. When the collar collapsed, she felt the demon's influence stop completely. Fear, was the last thing she felt before it was ripped away and if she was being completely honest, she felt for the creature.
  398.
  399. The start-up sequence came quickly, no longer than she had felt the kiss to her forehead fade, she only thought about his last words. Different person? Surely she couldn't go back to what she was, the vessel had been destroyed when she got their new one. No doubt the two of them, including the demoness, would be unlike either of them had seen before. The instruments tore and ripped at her flesh, tearing at an incredibly fragile and 'taped' together soul. What it was able to do however, was decipher the two. Screams could be heard echoing from the machine, she was NOT enjoying it. At least not at the moment, the pain lasted for an eternity, not just hours and what he would notice is that her soul was a lot harder to transport than previously thought. The screaming in pain began to host small bits of laughter. Crying turned into chuckles and just like his own aura, she had one too.
  400.
  401. A red mist confined into the structure disappeared an a more omnious laughter could be heard, dark, demonic, and clearly not the same person he had put in the machine. When the machine had finished, the person he would see before him would not be the person he had locked in. As a matter of fact, the change was so dramatic one would probably think someone had snuck in beforehand. Auburn hair swapped for a turquoise, eyes mirroring them, lithe figure, same hips and a sizable bust and awkwardly the same height. Collapsing into his arms she weakly chuckled, "I thought--that would h-hurt more..." she nuzzled into his neck.
  402.
  403. When she stepped out, on the other side of the machine was another figure, unphased, but sporting the collar he had placed around her. "What are you talking about? You passed out half-way through..." the voice was darker, not in tone, but in feel. The aura of such a creature brought darkness with it, but the visual, said the contrary. Runic markings spread along the auburn beauty, and it was clear to see that the lustful looks was on the shoulders of the demon. "Been through worse, still not exciting... vertigo, that's... a thing.." the demoness stopped, looking at the duo as he held Kirin in his arms. "Is... she going to be okay?" concern, probably odd for someone who hadn't met many demons. "Also, was this damn vessel the only thing you had laying around?" she examined herself.
  404.
  405. "She'll be fine. I'm more curious about you. How do you feel? Enjoying your mental projection of yourself made flesh?" Magical tendrils snaked out, reaching towards the demoness. Tendrils of red energy moved from her collar to meet his, the magic pulsing as it moved through her form and began to rip shards of energy from the femme. Not enough to be harmful, just enough to weaken her natural abilities. "If you'd like another, I could easily put you into a Phylactery and make a new one. Though, that means you'd be rather under my control and something tells me you wouldn't enjoy that too much. Unless.. you'd really enjoy that?" He grinned, raising an eyebrow. Then, his expression fell and he sighed, mood abrubtly shifting.
  406.
  407. Waving a hand to dismiss whatever answer she may have before it came out her mouth, he stretched his arms to either side. "I'd like to make one thing very clear. If you try to subvert me. If you try to break my lab. If you attempt to hurt myself or your host.. I will break you down into magical components and make you a staff using the artifact as a focus. Do the opposite and we'll have a grand time with much learning about the both of us. Clear?" As the Magus spoke tendrils of mana reached out to connect with her collar, the enchantment within shaving off shards of the demoness' magic. Not enough to be harmful, but enough it would leave her less powerful than usual. As the reddish magic drifted back towards the half-elf, the tendrils turned black and devoured it. Then, they reached beyond the collar, into her. If one had to describe the feeling, it would be like some sort of snake that had pierced her skin to inject a poison that froze the blood, numbed the skin and fogged the mind, leaving little more than a husk of a body in it's wake.
  408.
  409. But that was for mere moments before the black tendrils drew back, staying behind him and swaying as if alive. Kael's skin seemed to have a reddish hue, the runes beneath his skin pulsating with the same energy he had stolen from her. His eyes lost their starry quality, looking more akin to the depths of blackened space than a cobalt color. Her theory that he too had a darker side.. may have held some merit.
  410.
  411. The lifeless human form in his arms held little to no motion, aside from the occasional rise and fall in her chest to indicate that she was still breathing. The demoness on the other hand, clinched her fist tightly to an awakened spark. An ember forming at the brace of her knuckle as he asked how she felt. The runic markings surged with such an evil that it was almost visible. The smile on her face told everything. "I feel, a lot better... Feel like I can stretch my legs--finally." the ending word was laced in the giggle that could've made a weak stomach turn. The tendrils went unnoticed, that was until she felt the dark intentions laced behind his motivations.
  412.
  413. His words, the amount of sheer violence that they promised. To someone who was used to pain on both sides of the spectrum there was a small part of her that wanted to indulge in that fantasy. Perhaps when she was done with him she'd go for it, nothing but time to use while she waited. The shards of energy he'd strip from her would feel chaotic in nature, with no real signature to it. Such was flame at its core, having that stripped away to a manageable degree, it happened faster than she could object. The pain ensued, and he'd activate those runic markings that would extend in defense of its host. Only for that power to be ripped away with the abyss-like tendrils that sapped her power away from her. Her eyes held a bright auburn flair before she had finally had enough. Kael would likely want to take note that even with him absorbing that power from her. There was still massive reserves left, still, it was kept in check by the collar. Her mind was barely able to make heads or tails of the situation. "... we're clear.." she said it reluctantly, only because he probably wouldn't let off of it unless she agreed.
  414.
  415. The demoness remembered how this felt, and logged it into her memory.
  416. When he had manifested her energy, either battling it to go against it consuming him or perhaps analyzing it to better tame it. She didn't show much signs of concern. "It's...painful, and consuming. The many voices. You hear them? They don't shut up you know." she asked and quoted, as if she was mocking him for wanting to siphon her power away. She had seen plenty of creatures, but none quite like him. Despite the lingering pain he had inflicted it sickly made her drawn to him more. "Do you mind telling me what you are? Don't give me the half-elf bullshit you gave the scatter-brain." she pointed to emphasize that only one of them walked out of the chamber, the obvious stronger one. "Gadgets, thirst for artifacts, the ability to withstand demonic corruption? No half-elf could do something like that..." and here she was, aesthetically more 'elf' than he was for argument's sake.
  417.
  418. A quiet laugh came from the male as she asked her questions, eyes focused on her, yet seeing more than her physical form. The runes continued to pulse and if one were to watch carefully, they seemed to be pulsing in time with the beat of her heart. "I do. They say things that may so ever slowly tempt me to become a thrall. Perhaps if the mistress is as lovely as you, I might think about it."
  419.
  420. He rolled his shoulders, the tendrils of black energy forming themselves into black wings of bone and sinew. "I did not lie, I am half-elf. I am not, however.." A hand came up, gently taking hers and guiding it to his chest to feel his heartbeat. Except.. there wasn't one. Surely, Kirin had felt it earlier, the night before? But, now.. it was absent. "Living. I was ambitious and it cost me. But, my Reaper was rather kind. We made a pact and now I take the life from others as you do flesh, in a sense to replace what you have lost. Kin cut of different cloth, as it were." Kael's right 'wing' drew closer, nearly grazing the femme once more as his gaze returned it's focus to her eyes. Then, the wing was back in it's place, the Magus watching her reaction closely with half-lids and a wry grin.(edited)
  421.
  422. "You'll be responsible for them." she remarked. "You hear them, you fulfill them. Fuckin' radio..." she wiggled her ears, unknowing that she could even do that. "They're tormented people, all at their wits end and asking for a way out. Make deals with them, and they go away. But then you're more of a personal servant than a collector of...." she paused when he talked about her, and how lovely he found her. "... Oh..." she paused. Her heartbeat slowly escalating before she tried to re-center herself, "Than a collector of souls really. But, that tempting you're hearing, it's not them. It's other beings, wanting to corrupt and take that form of yours." she warned, but she didn't have to tell him that anymore. He knew it for himself.
  423.
  424. Nonchalance aside, the tendrils caught her attention yet again, seeing them form into instruments of flight, although by the structure that shouldn't have been possible. Captured visually her hand blindly followed, his words becoming more of a backdrop to her already piqued interest. The moment her hand touched over her chest a few things went through her mind, the first was to hurt him out of some harbored malice that he had a collar around her, if she hated anything, it was being restricted. The other was that she felt sorry for him, to live without a heart, she empathized with it more than he'd probably know. "So many people give up what they think is little while they're ambitious..." again, speaking from a place of experience. A lot in common it seemed. The wing that came to her caused her to flinch, assuming that it was going to sap more of her energy from her, however it didn't. It just went back to where it was. His stare was--uncomfortable, not because she found him creepy, but because she was enticed. Inside of the other she was able to hide her shortcomings when it came to her fortitude, outside she couldn't. What could be only taken as a blush was hidden by her turning away, turning her back on him. "We have tests to run, do we not?" she said hoping that'd break her need to inquire more about him, in not only a knowledgeable way.(edited)
  425.
  426. He listened to her words, her warnings, with curious eyes. Part of him wanted to give one what it wanted, to see just how strong it was. But another part warned him against trying to use something more powerful than him, just in case. Last time, it had cost him his life. Her pause was not unnoticed, but he didn't act on it.. yet.
  427.
  428. The amber eyes drawn to his wings gave him a sense of power, knowing he could easily enrapture her with such small actions.. then her hand on his chest, feeling her heart beat faster through the pulse in her hand.. the whispers got stronger, urging him to simply take what would already be his..
  429.
  430. Her flinch away from his wing was not unnoticed either, but it was quickly withdrawn as to not hurt her. Then.. she blushed? Oh, the fun he could have with this.. Quickly as she turned, he stepped forward and put his arms around her form, one hand on her hips while the other moved up to rest between her breasts as it grabbed the collar about her neck. Wings of negative energy wrapped closer around the two of them and Kael let out a hot breath upon her ear before gently nipping it with his pointed teeth. "Mm.. we do. The question is which you'd like to do first~?"
  431.
  432. Being trapped in the dual consciousness of them both had its limits. Mainly the fact that when she felt things, they were normally deluded in some shape or form. Here, she was able to feel much more than she wanted to, much more than she had anticipated. The way he captured all of her movements would've amused her, if everything he did didn't already. Wondering if he'd move on with the topic of tests, but judging by his movements he thought otherwise. She felt his heat come closer, and soon she could feel his hand on her hip. At first she jerked away, which resulted in her leaning back into him, and in turn she squeaked. "Ka--" she almost said his name, but instead he had pulled at the collar on her neck. Where his hand rested, more specifically where it found itself comfortably resting forced her heartbeat into a sprint. The wings went unnoticed and instead she felt the same haze as when he had sapped the energy from her, however it was without the pain, this was her own undoing. Lost in the lust of her own mind and imagination.
  433.
  434. The irony was, she had toyed with him with his ears before, and now she was on the receiving end. Which she never thought would particularly happen, the hot breath was enough to cause her ears to wiggle and her cheeks flushed a bit more, the heat rising in her body but being stopped by the collar. "I--I don't know.." she wasn't even fully paying attention! The moment his teeth gripped to her ear she curled her lip inward, moving her head away from the teeth pressed against her flesh. A silent protest, and an incredibly weak one. Perhaps it was just for formality, if he knew how enticed she was, he'd let it go to his mind, if it hadn't already.
  435.
  436. A low rumble came from his chest as he chuckled, lips moving to re-capture her ear and bite down hard, almost hard enough to draw blood. Perhaps as a sort of revenge for the night of passion they shared, or simply because he wished to. He could feel her heartbeat both in his arm and fingers, the latter stretching out to trace up her neck while the thumb of said hand tugged the collar tight. The hand on her hips drew back for a moment before coming back down on her rear with force, the sound echoing through the quiet room intertwined with whatever sounds she might be making at this point.
  437.
  438. Then, as quickly as it began, Kael withdrew. His arms drew back, but not without leaving a claw-mark down her center as the mage took a deep breath, still grinning. "I see that your body is working just fine.. reacts to stimulus.. properly~" The power in this man's aura had reached a new high since he had met the two, still half-lidded eyes making it understood he held all the cards and she was merely a play-toy within his realm.
  439.
  440. "Now come, I'm sure you've got.. tension to work out, so let's see how you do against some live-fire targets." A wave of his hand and several words later had a gate appear, the door in reality leading from this lab to another that seemed of the same construction with the exception of several doors in it's walls. Sealed blast doors, to be precise..(edited)
  441.
  442. Mentally patting herself on the back was quickly shut off by the re-capture of her ear. A shock of both overwhelming pain and a sadistic pleasure washed over her, spewing out a hybrid of a curling scream and a "Fuck you". Pushing away but also wanting to stay captured in it too. The grip he had on the collar stopped her from going anywhere, obedient, partially, she drew herself back within the confines of his reach. The force placed on her rear echoed, her flesh giving a small clap back to him and the sting could be felt even though it had happened a few seconds ago. To say that the heat centered itself elsewhere would be an understatement, but when he let go, she was allowed to recompose herself. A growl had left her just as it had left him before, the mark that slid down her center would draw dribbles of blood, thankfully before the acidic particles touched him he had pulled away and the wounds had healed quickly.
  443.
  444. "Yeah, no shit..." she rubbed her affected cheek, the blush still written on her upper ones. There he was, looking at her again.
  445.
  446. "Oh yeah, plenty of fuckin' tension to work out..." she said with a growl, and then walked toward the gate that appeared. Reaching out her hand both Rebellion and the pistols would come to her form, if he didn't stop them of course. "What am I killin'? Excited, in a different way it seemed."
  447.
  448. The Magus stepped through the gate into the other room, awaiting her to do the same as his smouldering eyes followed her every move. The demonic energies were having more of an effect on him than anticipated, wings fluttering occasionally as he took in deeper breaths than usual. If one listened closely, they could even hear a low growl coming from his chest as he breathed, watching the femme with intense eyes.
  449.
  450. Another snap of his fingers made one of the medium-sized blast door locks spin, the two sides separating while the entry opened to reveal a panther. Or.. two. Was it three? The air around it seemed to shift, after-images projecting themselves to it's sides, behind it, in front of it, sometimes above or below as well. Another notable feature of this creature was two long tendrils from it's lower spine, each equipped with a suction cup upon the end filled with teeth. It glared hungrily at the both of them, but kept it's distance.
  451.
  452. "This is referred to as a Displacer Beast. You're without powers, only your physical form to work with unless you begin to die. Then the collar's restraints will either A; release and allow you to access your energy source or B; return you to me." Kael nodded, stepping close as his voice dropped to a whisper. "Though this is for testing.. care to make it more interesting~?"
  453.
  454. Following behind, she gripped the broadsword in her hand. However it was more focused on the energies coming from him. Rebellion was a sword that was given to the Sparda brothers sometime ago, the surname was more of a myth and legend considering it had been some time. But the blade was rumored to be the rival of Yamato, the blade that could split time and space, this one was said to be forever sharp, and able to break through most materials. Near weightless for the wielder, and impossible for those who it didn't choose. Another 'relic' that she'd have to explain that she had if he asked about it, still, with how old the sword was it probably has lost some durability, but the main function was seeking out demonic threats, and at the moment his was higher than hers. "Are--you okay?" she said with a bit of concern, she could only imagine what they were doing to his consciousness. He looked as though he was on the verge of splitting.
  455.
  456. The snap broke her focus, and to the doors that spun open, revealing the four-legged creature. Multiplying until the numbers advantage was near overwhelming, even by their standards she heard the rules of the test. "Hmm, guess I won't be needing these then." she tossed her pistols downward, grinning as she cracked her knuckles. On instinct she tried to output more heat, but instead the collar negated that. "On second thought..." she picked her pistols back up. "Just in case." she chuckled, looking at him, but with the intensity in his eyes, her smile slowly drew back. "Sure, interesting, what do you have in mind?"
  457.
  458. His mind was a rush of voices, suggestions, demands and questions. All of them vying for a piece of this powerful mage as his eyes drifted along her form. The sword set off bells in his mind, somewhere in the part that was still focused on the task at hand, but they were quickly silenced by the other screams that made him ache in all the right ways. "I'm fine. Just.. a little power-drunk~" He chuckled, stretching fingers that looked suspiciously more like claws by the minute. Just how badly was her energy affecting him?
  459.
  460. "How about.. for every beast you defeat, you get an hour without the collar. And if you can get through five, without powers, I'll let you put it on me for that time, as well as let you call the shots. But, if you lose.. I get to use you like a toy and you can't resist~" He grinned, pointed teeth helping him radiate a sort of thinly-veiled malice as his eyes showed a hunger within them. A gamble for sure, but demons loved to make gambles, especially if they thought they could win them. "What do you say? Mix some pleasure with the business?"
  461.
  462. Oddly enough, the beast still kept it's distance, as if still chained in some way. That didn't keep it from trying to dart forward, being caught and yanked backwards every time it did.(edited)
  463.
  464. At the moment he said he was fine, she knew he was lying. Not many people could bear that burden, sometimes even she couldn't stop, which was why the incident in the town happened. His fingers, clawlike in nature and she made a small whine noise in the back of her throat. "If you say so..." Even the broadsword knew something was up, and it was a (mostly) inanimate object.
  465.
  466. The wager seemed simple enough, kills equaled freedom, failure equaled servitude. That collar was getting on her nerves, all two of them. "You got yourself a deal." she couldn't resist, he was right. Quick on the draw when it came to her nature, knowing that a bet was not something she could turn down. "Although you're going to be wearing this thing, so get ready." confidence now restored in the demoness as she approached to the lengths in which the beast couldn't get. "So what? You wanna see if I can kill an innocent creature in cold blood or something?" she asked, pulling out the pistol she had picked up earlier, cocking it back and pulling the trigger in direction of the beast. Looking at him and expecting to hear a carcass slamming against the ground "See? No problem" again, confident, so much so that she had even turned her back without knowing if the bullet had hit, or if the creature was even alive.
  467.
  468. As her gun fired, there was twin howls from the creature. One of pain, the other of anger. Kaelos chuckled, raising a hand towards the beast and a ring of snapping steel echo'd as a compliment to the howls. "Enjoy. And remember, five for your grand prize~"
  469.
  470. The Magus erupted in Hellfire, being consumed by the blaze and a few charred pages falling down in his place. If one were to look closer, they would notice both words as well as pictures upon them, one looking suspiciously like her current opponent.
  471.
  472. Speaking of said creature, it was now stalking towards it's prey with nothing more than it's fangs and claws. There were easily three of it, one of which sporting a wound in it's shoulder, presumably from her blind shot. It's eyes, multi-faceted purple orbs that reflected more than what they saw stared into hers. Would she simply engage the beast, or try to dance around it, understand her fight before she did.
  473.
  474. "Five for my grand prize? I'll kill six if it'll make you crawl." she joked, and as the snap sounded off she heard the steel release the beast. Her grip at her pistol and on the hilt of Rebellion tightened. Shifting from one side to another she saw the Magus leave, leaving her alone with the creatures that seemed to have a pack-like mentality. "I guess fairness is out of the question?" she poked fun at them as the pages fell down, noticing this she picked them up and started to read over the contents of the pages.
  475.
  476. For only as long as the creatures would allow her to she'd study the charred pages, making sure she kept the barrel of the gun targeted towards them, more specifically the wounded one. "Alright..." after she had her fill. "Time to get this damned collar off..." she would reel back the broadsword, curling it behind her form and pointing the tip upward. She may not have been able to use her abilities, but her swordsmanship would be more than enough to fend off some hounds. A split second to bring the sword from behind her and then forward, cutting the air with a slash that went vertically, slicing through all it went through and if it missed it would continue going until it hit a wall, dealing the same amount of damage a rocket propelled grenade would. Two more would follow behind this slash, one horizontal, and then one across. Afterward the demoness would move, strafing to the left while laying down some pistol bullets down range. She was a mobile fighter if anything.
  477.
  478. Kaelos sat in his observation room, watching the fight below with a keen interest. She would very easily deal with the Displacer Beasts as he sipped his wine, then flipped another lever to release a second creature. This one was a lumbering beast, something texts referred to as an 'Umber Hulk'. They were unaccustomed to light, and as such the Magus turned off the test room lights. "Do hope you are as adept in the dark as you are in the light, as this one is very comfortable."
  479.
  480. Then, he sat back and kicked up his feet. Part of his psyche wondered how much this demonic energy was affecting his physical form as he flexed his new talon-like fingers. Another part wondered if he cared, with his enhanced senses. Wine was like nectar, Chocolate an ambrosia. It was absolutely wonderful~
  481.
  482. The creature, made of chitin and bone, flexed two of it's arms that were tipped with wicked looking blades. It's multifaceted eyes blinked in quick succession and it's mandibles clicked a few times to match, almost as if it were seeking something.. or.. trying to speak?
  483.
  484.
  485. After the first creature was done with, she watched as the effect of her attacks splintered it to near non-existence and if it did survive one wouldn't be able to recognize what it was originally. Confidence boosted, which only fueled the chaotic demonic energy that radiated from her form. Perhaps connecting with what he had siphoned from her before. Pistols holstered as she wondered if she would have to deal with five of the same creature, or if they would get continually worse. Turning back to look to Kael, she waited for her answer.
  486.
  487. Coming quickly, his voice echoed in the complete and utter darkness. The quick vanish of light created a vague outlay of the room, but even that went away while the creature made its entrance. The demon wasn't accustomed to darkness, but sound was always the same, even in darkness. Her arm outstretched, thinking to call upon the flame that she was so famous for. Without hesitation the collar would punish her for her efforts, asserting its dominance without any restraint. "AAahhh!" she whined out, falling to one knee and Rebellion's tip driving into the ground. No doubt this alerted the creature, and she prepared for it to find her, but that didn't mean she had to be where she was when it did. Quickly moving, which created fleeting footsteps, she placed both hands at the hilt of Rebellion, feet planted, waiting.
  488.
  489. Kael winced as the collar reacted, his mind pinging with an alert that she had attempted to access her powers. Of course, the spark of lightning in the otherwise dark room was a better alert. "Ouf, that seemed like it hurt. Perhaps you'd like to give up now, get some medical attention~?" Came the slightly-mocking tone, echoing through the steel hall.
  490.
  491. The creature, despite her worries, simply waited until she had recovered. She might not be able to see, but it had crossed it's arms over it's chest for a moment before beginning it's charge. Every step was a thick slab of meat hitting a gong, the floor itself reverberating with force before it roared. The air itself begun to shake, as if trying to throw off her inner sense of balance before it swung, once, then twice with each blade in crossing directions.
  492.
  493. The sting from the collar still radiated through her form, she could feel her muscles tightening uncontrollably due to the shock and her mind was in scrambles. This didn't go away, nor did it seem like the haze would disappear any time soon. Even with the pain, his mock got a smile out of her. Pearly whites in darkness, like a Cheshire cat. "You forget what I am. Pain is what I do." called out before the creature made its charge. Right then she realized the size of what was coming after her. Assuming it was no bigger than the last creature was a mistake, and while the ground rumbled with pressure and the shockwave of sound came closer and closer she further centered her gravity. The shriek of a roar tore at her sensitive senses, making the first strike land over her left upper body. It was a miracle then that the femme didn't split into two, but instead it stopped on her sturdy structure. Hoping the blade would get stuck in her skin she seethed with the pain, blood dripping onto the blade to drench it in the acidic properties. Less than a moment later Rebellion's structure came into contact with the second blade. "I just wanted to get a good look at these pawns you're sending after me." she said through gritted teeth, obviously she was in pain.
  494.
  495. A chuckle came through the speakers, followed by a muffled reply. The sound of.. crunching? Whatever it was, certainly less important then the creature with it's large blades threatening to take the life from her.
  496.
  497. Speaking of, said creature's bones seemed to be resistant to the acidic nature of her blood, if the one in her shoulder trying to dig in more was any indication. It was not however resistant to another blade, especially one such as what she had. It's weapon chipped upon contact with hers and it screeched in pain, spitting up it's own gooey globule which latched onto her chest, beginning to burn through whatever clothing was left there from the previous beast.
  498.
  499. "Well, if you want to get a good look.." Two claps came from somewhere in the room, the lights springing back with twice the intensity, as if there were deep-sea floodlights attached instead of regular bulbs. The creature screeched again at the sudden brightness, it's eyes closing while it attempted to reel backwards from the pain, taking whatever was on it's blades with it.
  500.
  501. The moment Rebellion's blade was seen going through the weapon of the creature she gained a smirk that had been lost due to the pain of the blade wrenching into her flesh. Acidic fluid flowed as she too reared out a scream towards the creature. Pulling the blade from her shoulder and creating a distance between the two. She could hear crunching, and then the lights would flash on, blinding her and the creature for moments. However once she caught on, she wasted no time in following up.
  502.
  503. Rebellion's structure was compact, efficient work that could only be best admired as it cut through what its master deemed unworthy to live anymore. Drenched in the blood of many creatures, it held no stain, and looked no less sharp than the first day it was created. Still, it was heavy, Kirin's strength only made it look as light as a dagger. Curling the sword behind her, just as she had before when the stinger air missiles were launched, she would dash from view. Not from a teleport, but rather her speed. Leaving an after-image where she had just been she would charge forward with the tip of rebellion aimed at the core of the beast in front of her. "Stop playing games with me Kael, and give me something worth my time!" she yelled as she charged, hoping to use all of the rage and fury she had to barrel through the creature.
  504.
  505. Thunk went the hilt of Rebellion as it sunk deep into the creature's core, the being screeching an unholy sound before sinking it's own blades into Kirin in return. Just as it seemed poised to rip her back open, it shuddered and stopped. There was no sound but the sizzle of acid as it dripped down onto the floor and the laboured breathing of the only remaining combatant.
  506.
  507. "Well well. It would seem the kitty has claws after all~! Two down, one to-" As the Magus spoke, the creature's corpse jerked, pulling the girl closer as it's mandibles snapped into either side of her head, squeezing with force in an attempt to crush her head. Inside it's mouth were tentacles that had smaller barbs, each attempting to rip pieces of her face or her eyes out.
  508.
