47. Seattle cop Lon McQ investigates the murder of his best friend and the corruption within the police department.
 48. In Seattle, early one morning, two uniformed police officers, and plainclothesman Stan Boyle, are found shot. The two uniformed officers died of their wounds. Boyle's partner, Lt. Lon McQ, is certain local hood Manuel Santiago is behind these killings, especially after a known hit man, employed by Santiago, tries to kill McQ. Defying the orders of his superior, Captain Ed Kosterman, McQ tails Santiago. After confrontations with both Santiago and Kosterman, and despite the sympathy of city councilman Franklin Toms, McQ enlists the help of private detective "Pinky" Farrell, and soon becomes involved in a major narcotics deal - one that blows up in the face of both McQ and Santiago and that leads to the discovery of a stunning secret for McQ.
 49. I think it took some guts on John Wayne's part to do these kind of roles late in his career, roles like "McQ" and "Brannigan" instead of playing it safe and giving his long term fans more of what they expected of Wayne(The War film or Western) I felt Wayne pulled off the role quite well even at his advanced age! I thought the basic message of this film was that everybody has a price, not at all unusual a theme for a 70's film. It was nice to see John Wayne in such a contemporary themed film. Of course he would of been great as "Dirty Harry" but I'm glad Wayne met the modern times with films like this and "Brannigan". I LOVED the chases and lingo here!! If I had to choose my favorite film between "McQ" and "Brannigan", I would say "Brannigan" by a very very *slim* margin because I feel it has aged a bit better because there's more humor in "Brannigan" than "McQ". However that doesn't make this film any less worthy of a entertaining view by the fan of John Wayne or the casual film viewer. *** out of a possible **** stars!
 50. Before hand I would apologize if there is grammar errors. English it's not my native language. This movie, fr me it's up there with bullit maybe more enjoyable because Mr Wayne communicate the street lingo well and it's less stiff than Mr. McQueen.

I'm actually would like to purchase the music score but it's not commercially available.

I don't understand why Elmer Bernstein does not included the music on his repertoire.

I thought the cast was superb, A great line, when the snitch said " you're no badge anymore, what ya gonna do, go fist city on me". The car chase it's equal or better than bullit's chase. Hopefully, in a near future it's re-released on HiD and we get to enjoy it again.

I lived in Seattle during early 90's and just now I gather the movie was shot there. You darn right it's one of John Wayne's under appreciated, under-looked pieces.
