  1. Statement: Earlier today I reported two bursts of automatic gunfire around the area of NE Vinewood and proceeded to investigate with other units in the area. After a third and sustained burst of automatic gunfire rang out I determined the location to be roughly in the are of The Vinewood Bowl and proceeded up the hill to the area with a highway unit and other deputy. Upon arrival a green, open top car owned by Balthazar Jones was parked in the south east, interior corner of the parking lots. Not shots were heard during our drive up so I requested a 10-28 which came back clean. Upon search of the area another officer reported a man shot. It took me and a fellow LEO around 2 minutes to track them down as the officer was experiencing radio troubles causing him to be uninterpretable. Upon arriving to the man, who was located at the bottom of the northwest-most green pillar around the main amphitheater seating, it became apparent that he was wearing a vest and no bullets had penetrated him. We immediately requested medics to medically clear the victim. Upon further questioning the victim revealed to us that two men, identified later as Miami Florida and Chris Freeman, were having an argument on twotter that resulted in them agreeing to meet to fight at the location of the shooting. The victim stated to us that he was only there to break up the fight if it did happen though he later admitted he just wanted to see the fight happen. The victim stated a man shot at him from up the steps, a good distance away. We believed that he was probably mistooken for the second man in the dispute when he was shot. When the victim was being assessed by medics he allowed myself and another deputy into his phone and twotter to take screeenshots of evidence. During the course our gathering of evidence we noticed that the two were planning at that time to meet at grove street to fight again. We immidiately informed dispatch of their plans and returned the suspects phone. He was medically cleared and county investigators were called to process the scene. Me and fellow originating officers began to respond Code 2 to grove street to continue our investigation and backup responding units. A shots fired call was made by someone are radio and our request was bumped to Code 3 by dispatch. [END OF REPORT] BCSO-Deputy III Garret P. 3C-189 #14308
