      — MINHYUN is quite conceited, enabling his default persona to be extremely cocky. he is especially arrogant towards those who try to gain power over him; he likes to be the dominant one. when someone attempts to interact with MINHYUN, he shuts them out with either an arrogant statement of "shut up don't talk to me" or "go away". though the main reason he puts up this arrogant exterior is to defend is fake ego and his hidden low self esteem he gained from the lack of friendship, or any relationship in general. MINHYUN frequently tells himself that he should be more kind to people around him, to fill in the hollow part of his heart, to just maintain if not many than just one, strong relationship. though, one of his negative traits is that he believes that he will be alright alone, and every single time he thinks this, he gravely regrets all of his past actions. MINHYUN always regrets things when it's way too late. often, he has thoughts of suicide and when anxiety strikes up in him, he finds himself either in the kitchen staring at a knife or on his balcony railing looking below him, thinking over his life; his empty and useless excuse of a life. but, he doesn't realize he's staring at a knife, or even sitting on a balcony. he's quite a bothersome person to deal with. this side of him is a complete contrast to his external walls coated in arrogance. it's really rare to find him showing signs of affection and care towards an individual.

      — growing up with out the care of a motherly and fatherly figure, he was labelled as an orphan. his mother and father, they never had the brightest relationship with each other after their marriage due to stress and overloaded work. the main problem was from his father. the rest of minhyun's family from his mother's side and his father's side all despised the marriage of minhyun's parents. minhyun was abandoned by them at a very young age as they had scattered across the world in hopes of putting their failure of a marriage behind them. the only choice minhyun had was staying at an orphanage in his birthtown, daegu. the people at the orphanage was nice towards him, well only the staff. the other kids had an unreasonable hatred against him. without parents to teach him manners, minhyun was quite rude to the other kids. though, you couldn't really blame him. around high school, he decided to live by himself in an apartment in seoul with the money he'd been saving up since he was in middle school. in high school, he was able to make a small group of friends that were able to deal with his cocky personality. at the time he had thought they were true friends, but in the end, they only used him for his good looks and undiscovered charm he had that attracted girls. he had been utterly hurt on the inside, but simply scoffed and stated that "i'd be better by myself anyway". he hadn't realized how mistaken he was until a few months after.

      ► it was natural that minhyun required the comfort and that sense of security that he was never able to experience throughout his whole life. it was his heart's desire, to be loved wholeheartedly, cared for and be accepted for who he was. even if he constantly denied the fact that he needed this, it will always be his strongest desire. being all by himself, he had learned many things and had the basic knowledge to survive, but his heart was hollow; and he knew that he needed the right person to fill it.
