At times a faulty piece of equipment plugged into a jack can cause many phone issues including no dial tone, noise, etc. A simple line reset can quickly resolve issues caused by a faulty device and avoid an unnecessary dispatch and possible charges.


•Disconnect all devices connected to the phone jacks to remove a potentially faulty device. This includes anything plugged into a phone jack including corded and cordless phones, modems, fax machines, filters, satellite receivers, and caller ID units. It's important to disconnect the device(s) from the phone jack and power source when performing this step.
◦If you have an alarm system this does NOT have to be disconnected.
•Once all devices are disconnected plug one phone, ideally a corded phone, and test if this resolves your issue. Try different combinations of jacks & equipment.  This will help you determine if a faulty piece of equipment or phone jack has caused the issue.

•If this does not resolve the issue and a repair ticket needs to be created there are several quick and easy ways to do this.
