  1. [00:38] "Good people don't lose what's deep down inside their heart, even with war and destruction. Their vision might be clouded but... it remains there. They remain themselves. It may take months, or years, but eventually they'll go back to being who they are."
  2.
  3. Kofe's view on people's mental state showed why he had quite some trouble accepting Tea's death, taking two years after the obvious fact she was gone to actually process it properly.
  4.
  5. She could have been saved. Even to this day he believed so.
  6.
  7. "Alice wishes for the faith in the stars and the angels to remain strong. I.. joined the battlefield because I've determined that her culture and her beliefs are worth protecting. She would protect mine, too. I may not join the church, Romani, but I'm well-aware of what the stars above our heads can do.
  8.
  9. .. And I know that Iberl is watching me, always. I can feel our bond more clearly than ever before, almost as if I feel its... thoughts. Or at least, what it thinks of me."
  10. (Kofe)
  11. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  12.
  13. [00:44] "I do not think so."
  14.
  15. Romani would shake his head. "There can be good people who do lose what is in their heart. There are people who are irreversibly changed by the things that they experiences, from the losses that they come to know. Sometimes, outside intervention can assist with fixing that, but othertimes it does not."
  16.
  17. Romani gives a shake of his head.
  18.
  19. "Take an occultist, for instance. I believe that there is some that have been turned to a dark path from the things they live through. Things not their fault. And unless this occultic taint is purged, they may fall further and further into evil. But another can rescue them."
  20.
  21. "But alone? Their visions, their morals, their beliefs? They change. And they become something far from the good people they once were. The good people they could be."
  22.
  23. The Stellus would pause and take in a breath.
  24.
  25. "I do hope that we are both able to stay strong. I also will be taking to the battle field. What we are and the things we do are worth protecting and doing. The stars believe in us, and others do as well."
  26.
  27. A small smile would be given towards Kofe.
  28. (Romani cos Montclaire)
  29. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  30.
  31. [00:50] "No one does anything for no reason, Romani. Occultist, witches, even beasts. They all act for a reason. Survival, strength, fear, desires. They exist. Determining what they are is... the path to helping them recover." He said, pausing for a moment and uttering another thought.
  32.
  33. "As twisted as someone who's mind has been tainted could be, I still think there's a chance they could be good. My kind's been called savage for many generations, yet, here we are. It's.. perspective. It's being given a shot. An honest chance."
  34.
  35. He shrugged.
  36.
  37. "Sure, people like Mihalis probably will never be good. But it's the same with some people in Osrona. Thieves who hoard coins just to sit on them exist everywhere. It's giving the people in unfortunate circumstances a chance to get better that makes someone a great person. Just look at Sanna."
  38. (Kofe)
  39. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  40.
  41. [00:53] Romani would pause.
  42.
  43. "It depends, to me. Just how far they have fallen. A Witch who decides to never use her powers and instead create a device capable of negating them? I believe that maybe there could be good in that. An occultist who willing purges themselves of the occultic magic and goes against with drives it? A beast that controls itself and does not spiral into bloodlust?"
  44.
  45. "These things are all possibilities. Unlikely, but I would say they could be good. But most will be unwilling. There is much that there is no redemption for."
  46.
  47. "It depends. Situation on situation." A nod. "I also think it is unlikely Mihalis will ever be good. And Sanna, to me, is an example of someone who had outside assistance. People were there to support her."
  48. (Romani cos Montclaire)
  49. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  50.
  51. [00:59] "Why would they have to suppress what they've earned just because the world sees it as bad?" Kofe asked, turning slightly to Romani. "If it can be controlled, then why should it be killed off? You should know yourself how it feels in battle sometimes; how the thrill just... gets to you, and empowers you."
  52.
  53. Or perhaps it was just a personal anecdote. From a time where a life was taken, where the world made less sense, yet felt all the more real.
  54.
  55. "Cosmic energies shoot up your mana circuits like nothing else when they hit you. I've never played and performed better than when Iberl was surprised and shocked by my performance. If someone thought that music was loud and ugly, should I have to quiet myself for them?
  56.
  57. If a nation believed so, would it be right?"
  58.
  59. A pause, and more thoughts.
  60.
  61. "Music. A symphony of sounds can be intoxicating. It can make one mad, but itcan be controlled. Yet, other forms of expressing yourself are shunned. I'm not saying we should let people harm another's soul, but... If an occultist is using their affinity to win wars and knows where to aim their insanity, are they evil?"
  62. (Kofe)
  63. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  64.
  65. [01:05] "Because some things are bad. If someone hurts others and goes out of it's way to do so? Then it is bad. Sometimes it can be controlled, but other times it works at a point that is not controllable. Occultism is one of those things."
  66.
  67. Romani would shake his head in disagreement, not all too much dwelling more on that.
  68.
  69. "Music is different from something that goes and directs you to strike and brutalize things. There are differences in issues between not liking something, and killing something, Kofe."
  70.
  71. With Stellus turns a bit, not entertaining the thought further before starting to move a bit more east.
  72. (Romani cos Montclaire)
  73. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  74.
  75. [01:10] "I'd rather look forward to the day that those thoughts are proven wrong than look at everyone I meet with negative expectations of them."
  76.
  77. Kofe's piece on the matter was spoken, and thusly, the conversation would come to an end. Where Romani moved east, Kofe remained where he was. Perhaps it was best.
  78.
  79. For he was the one who decided to trust someone who was, or was close to witches. For he protected that person.
  80.
  81. Perhaps in defeat of his opinion he would learn, but as it were? He dreamed the same way that he dreamed of great adventures with the one he loved. Reminiscing of the day that Alice really did start falling for him in an odd twist of fate, charmed by his words and ideals, united by a hunger for culture, beliefs, tales, and adventure.
  82.
  83. One last thought was given.
  84.
  85. "I'm going to marry a Princess."
  86.
  87. For the Rhoynish had been considered as nothing but murderers and monsters.
  88. (Kofe)
