  14. Ok So let's talk about a few things. First off, Denial of Service. Now the term DoS and DDoS have corrupted this community. I'm here to explain that Denial Of Service Is not actually SKIDDY (unless ur attacking a home connection over a game). First when the term Ddosing or DoSing comes to mind, people think "sending packets to render someone offline." But what a lot of people do not know is Denial of Service means using a source until that source is not available. A few years back an AT&T Head of Cloud Security told me, "DoS is just the over use of a source until its not available. For example, sending a fork bomb to a target causing it to crash is a denial of service attack." Now for everyone that is wondering why I said Denial of service is not skiddy, here's why. Denial of Service IS NOT SKIDDY IF YOU ARE NOT ATTACKING SOMEONE OVER XBL OR PSN, OR EVEN A HOME CONNECTION. Now let's talk about the term BOTNET. Now when people think botnet they immediately think, " some ddos tool or some booter." Botnets are not booters nor do they only ddos. A botnet is a group of compromised devices being controlled by a BOTMASTER. A bot is a compromised device that is connected on a network with other compromised devices. Botnets can be used for many things other than Ddosing such as, BTC Mining, CC stealing, Info Gathering, malware spreading, etc. Because of botnets such as Mirai and Bashlite (qbot), the term "botnet" has changed from group of compromised devices to something people boot connections off with. And one final little rant, this is a big one. BE WILLING TO ACTUALLY LEARN NEW THINGS. When people in this community get into augments and get asked questions they don't know, RESEARCH WHAT YOU DO NOT KNOW. It's okay to google things AFTER the convo. Talk to new people and listen to your enemies. They may teach you things you did not know so you may grow bigger and become better. Don't just trash talk them (unless it's @computings, that's a different story). But anyways I hope you guys learn from this and have more understanding why this community has become corrupted. We might have ruined this community, but that doesn't mean we can't rebuild it.
