- >You glance over at the girl and give a sigh.
- "Hey, Sunset. I just couldn't sleep. It's too hot, and with the busted AC, there's not really much that can be done," you say before walking to the fridge and grabbing a bottle of water.
- >She smiles at you and places a hand on yours.
- >"You know, Anon, you could always slip an ice pack in your pillow, or even just take your blankets off the bed," she says, also grabbing a bottle of water from the refrigerator.
- >She takes a seat across from you and unbuttons the top button of her pajama shirt.
- >"I do agree with you, though. It really is a stinker tonight." She sighs.
- "So, what's keeping you up?" you ask, trying to keep up the small talk.
- >"Oh, nothing. I'm just a little bothered by something, that's all," she says with an upset look.
- >You rub the little sleep from your eyes and gently stroke one of her hands.
- "What's up? If you don't mind me asking," you say, trying your best to keep a positive tone.
- >Her eyes point down at the table and she gives a little sigh.
- >"It's about us, Anon. I'm not going to lie, I've been in a better place before. It doesn't seem like this is going to work out," she reveals, a slight wavering in her voice hinting that she's trying not to cry.
- >Your eyes, on the other hand, were filled up with water already.
- "W-what? Is it me, Sunset? Please, tell me, if it's me, I can change," you beg, wiping your eyes.
- >Everything about this feels surreal, like it's not actually happening, but deep down, you know this isn't a dream.
- >"Anon, it's nothing like that. I just feel like we're lacking something," she says with a sigh.
- >You're trying really hard not to just scream and throw yourself off the balcony of your apartment.
- "Why didn't you tell me? This whole conversation could have been avoided if you'd just told me. We've been together for three years. When did this start?" you plead.
- >"Last month. I'm sorry Anon, I can't do this anymore. I'm leaving in the morning. It can't be stopped," She says.
- End.
