  1. Game 1:
  2. Goat was obvious; so, I assumed he makes good plays and wouldn't set goats (or clog his field) without meta/tribute. Which is why I set serpent, because a person would meta before NoC.
  3. But, here we are:
  4. -He assumed my first set was a real enough threat to use NoC, especially when he had tokens and a set; somehow thinking that if I had a MoF play, that I would risk its effect with a trinity in grave by leaving it so vulnerable.
  5. -He also DID NOT have meta, so, we are just doing this for fun I guess. It gets funnier because later on I ended up seeing that his deck was CC, which makes this clog even more hilarious.
  6. Anyway, getting my serpent banished tilted me for the whole match.
  7. Obviously, the card was very important with what I had. The argument could be made that serpent was too valuable to even be put at risk there, but everything basically told me that if my opponent was making good plays he would have the meta in hand and/or that he would not use NoC if he had it.
  8. I thought about it afterward, and I guess it is justifiable because he did not know my deck (although we have played before with the same decks).
  9. I digress.
  10. I pretty much lose game 1 because I lost serpent, oh well.
  11.
  12. I set tsuk vs sangan to wall it, of course, would be nice if I had BOM to go along with it. But with a snatch+AKP play in hand, I wasn't too pressed about needing tsuk to out TER.
  13. I remembered thinking that he may not have meta because of the serpent play that I was still wrapping my head around but remembered after my play that he added one off merchant. Thought I'd be fine because you know, he already went through 2 level 1s.
  14. But, since he NoC'd serpent earlier, he's probably thinking my set now is real; giving him more incentive now to just meta despite what he tributes. He just so happen to top that level 1 this turn, oh well.
  15. In retrospect, I wonder if I should have set the tsuk at all.
  16. I mean, now I know he had the meta, but the level 1 argument is pretty good imo; but there is no way to really confirm whether he ever had a level one at all.
  17. I was already at 5500, would suck if I kept getting poked with sangan; obviously, did not want to invest a scapegoat for it. Especially at the cost of making my MF vulnerable (he won't read TT, he could freely summon a breaker [that he'll top, ofc], or dust/mst, then I'd probably retire)
  18. What do you guys think I should have done?
  19. Of course, this would have been trivial if I had serpent.
  20.
  21. Yes, he ended with 7 cards in one of the turns; as stated, I was still tilted, was hard to pay attention.
  22. Anyway, it seems the accumulation of metas/no body in my later hand sort of contributed to my loss. Of course, lost a lot of utility by losing serpent early game. Oh well.
  23.
  24.
  25. Game 2:
  26. I should have set merchant the turn before I actually set it; idr what I was thinking. Probably about that G1 serpent.
  27.
  28. Although he does not run tributes from what I can tell, I still had to get rid of MOF from the field since he still has BOM in deck and heavy in grave. So, I unclogged him with breaker but he's seeing all his MOFs and I am seeing no akps or 2/3 metas half way in deck.
  29. I am not sure if this was contributed to my NoC usage earlier, but I did hit 2 flips anyway..
  30. So of course, you see tokens, the opponent has 12 cards in deck and 1 meta in grave, already used a NoC, you would think my serpent would get TER'd right? Nah! He tops his 2nd NoC and I lose my body; which hurts even more because I had a COTH into TIV play accessible.
  31.
  32. It's obvious that the turn where he set 3 s/ts in one turn, one of them was TT.
  33. My regret was not using Dust on his remaining 2 s/ts on meta's activation since TT was his only way for game; would have been a 50/50, he would have no followup.
  34. Anyway, it's frustrating that he didn't have chaos left but still scraped a win because my good cards do not like me; it is even more frustrating that none of his reads were good, but I guess my misread in G1 costed me in the first place.
  35. Thoughts?
