  1. The story of the Roman Centurion. This man while considered by Jewish people to be a heathen had a longing for truth. Through this desire deep within his heart, God was able to lead him to believe that Jesus was Messiah of promise.
  2.
  3. In the teaching of Christ, as it had been reported to him, he found that which met the need of the soul. All that was spiritual within him responded to the Saviour's words.
  4.
  5. But in the last few days a young man that he cared for very much was dying, his mind was brought back to think of Jesus and the healing that he had done for others, although he had never met Jesus his heart was inspired by Faith in Him.
  6.
  7. Not feeling worthy to come to Christ directly he sent a request with the Jewish leaders.
  8. At thy word healing can be imparted, please command on my behalf that my servant be healed. I am not even worthy that you should enter my house.
  9. "When Jesus heard these things, He marveled at him, and turned Him about, and said unto the people that followed Him, I say unto you, I have not found so great faith, no, not in Israel." And to the centurion He said, "As you have believed, so be it done unto you. And his servant was healed in the selfsame hour."
  10.
  11. I love how the faith of this supposedly heathen man was stronger than anyone Jesus had met in the enlightened jewish nation.
