- TL;DR of the next Side Story
- Protagonist: Unknown, male talker (Talks in first perspective)
- Other characters: Bellona, Achates, Lidica, Enott, Crozet, Jena
- This side story seems to be a type of "Choose your Adventure" Story. There are mentions of a Bad, a Good, and a Special Ending.
- The story takes place before Bellona's escape and after Diene's death.
- The story starts with the talker holding a monologue about wanting to make different choices - probably alludes to the choose your adventure thing. Afterwards, he and Achates have a conversation, and he says he feels a bit out of it - she mentions there is a banquet coming up, most likely to celebrate Aither's crowning. He also states that a noble who had visited the castle dropped an ornament with their family's crest on it, and he plans to give it back later.
- The talker and Achates stumble upon a group of people talking about being dissatisfied with Aither being crowned. They are planning a coup during the banquet to bring down the Senate/Charles in order to gain control over the throne. Enott catches them listening in and quickly chases them away before they can find out more. Achates doesn't want to tell the Senate that she has caught wind of this plan, since there's a possibility that someone from the Senate is involved in the plan/the culprits will change the plan if they get caught.
- The talker and Achates plan on infiltrating the banquet instead to find out more and stop the plan themselves. Since neither of them are nobles, they can't usually go in - luckily, the ornament they found belongs to Bellona. They visit her, and she promises to help them get into the banquet.
- The parts after this are mostly filler, talking about how Bellona dresses them properly. The day of the banquet comes, and she dances with the talker for a bit. There's mostly talk about Bellona being like a "caged bird", and she expresses her wish to find someone who she can run away from her home with.
- During the banquet, they are looking for the nobleman that is behind the coup (unsure why a nobleman specifically). They also meet Lidica, and Achates ask her if anyone from the Rose Apostles was acting suspicious (especially Enott). She states that she didn't (unsure), but cheers Achates on.
- A bit after, Lidica talks to Jena, and tells her of Achates' question. Jena tells Lidica that she is worried and fears that Achates may be planning something or has been manipulated, since there are people who want to weaken the senate, and even a slight scandal could cause an uproar. Lidica says that she will look into it and prove that Achates is innocent.
- During this time, Bellona and the talker approach some noblemen to find out more, including a person called Baden. The talker says that he is Bellona's lover to have a cover (they don't really believe him). They talk about her planned marriage to Aither, saying that it's in her family's, her father's and many noblemen's best interest. One of the noblemen hits on Bellona and the talker goes full Chad, slapping his hand away and walking away with Bellona.
- They talk about it in a rose garden outside of the castle. The talker asks Bellona why she let's them do what they like, and she says that she doesn't really have a say in what happens to her. Again, lots of stuff about being a caged bird who can never be free. The talker encourages Bellona that she can be free, nonetheless. She doesn't want to talk about it, and tells the talker that they won't see each other after the banquet, anyway - the talker agrees, but Bellona seems sad despite her words.
- Achates, Bellona and the talker meet up later. Bellona says that the nobleman called Baden Sternende, to whom they had talked earlier, would be the likiest person to have planned the coup, since he has power and seeks a seat in the senate. However, Bellona also says that this is all she can do to help, and leaves.
- Achates and the talker have another conversation, and she found out that Baden was involved with the priest Noah, who had also been in the senate. Apparently, that's also how he recruited Enott (?). The talker says that they know the motive and what people are involved in the coup now, and decide to hand the information over to the senate.
- BAD ENDING:
- The coup succeeds. An assassins attacks Aither, and Baden throws himself in the way to protect him, making him a hero. He accuses Charles of having a hand in it, since he led the Royal Escort, essentially chasing him out of the Senate. Bellona marries Aither, neither of them are happy about it, and the noblemen's plan succeeds. The talker wonders if this was really the right choice, and it cuts (?) back into the past.
- Bellona is talking to some noblemen. Now that she is alone, they talk to her about their plan to incriminate Charles, so she can marry Aither and they can control the throne, and tell her not to interfere.
- It cuts back to Achates' and the talker's conversation from before, except, this time, Bellona jumps in just before the two of them decide to head to the senate, saying that she has documents that have definite proof of the people involved and their plan. Her family was apparently involved in it. The talker, Bellona and Achates decide to stop the plan themselves. They hurry to the ceremony hall.
- Lidica interferes with the three. She states that she has been following them around to prove that Achates is innocent, and heard about them talking about Baden - she went to him to confront him about the claims, and he told her that Bellona and the talker were lovers, trying to assassinate Aither themselves in order to avoid marriage to Aither and run away. She doesn't listen to their defense, fights them, and gets wrecked. Bellona stays behind to watch Lidica (?).
- Achates and the talker hurry to the ceremony hall, where Enott and a priest attempt to stop them from entering. However, Achates wrecks them, too, and they manage to stop the plan before it comes to fruiton.
- GOOD ENDING: Afterwards, the talker and Achates are questioned about the matter. The talker refuses to say who had given him definite information about the coup to protect Bellona and is suspected, but Achates defends him and he is let go. Bellona and the talker exchange letters. She states that Lidica will face heavy punishment for siding with Baden and being ignorant of the circumstances, but wasn't a bad person. The talker asks if they can meet again, however, Bellona's own house was under heavy surveillance, they cannot Charles also offers him a position as Aither's counsellor as he seems to be a trustworthy person, and the talker accepts.
- SPECIAL ENDING: After talking to Charles, a letter from an unknown person came in, telling him to meet them in the rose garden. It was Bellona, who could leave for a while under the excuse that she was checking to see how Aither was doing. Bellona talks about how the talker made her realise how she lied to yourself and pretended she was fine with the life she was living, and now says that she will fight her mother in order to be free one day. The talker and her share a dance in the rose garden, and the scene ends.
- There is another short tidbit from when Bellona goes shopping with the talker and Achates for new clothes. They find a suit made for Crozet, who ordered it in order to propose to Jena in the future. There is some talk about what kind of proposal is romantic, and they all agree that Crozet is really bad at romance.
- TL;DR of the TL;DR: There is a coup against the throne, so Charles can be kicked out of the palace and Bellona can marry Aither for her family and other noblemen to gain control over the throne. Achates, the talker and Bellona stop it.
