- Who are you?
- Shondos Husband.
- You have been planning this for years. Ever since you found her in 2018, you were entranced by her unique personality. Girls like her cannot exist. How many times have you told yourself that? But everytime you thought it was over, the witches spell roped you back in. In January 2021, you made your decision. You’d get her out of that asylum thinking themselves a family. Shondo was nothing but a convenient ATM to those pieces of trash. You networked diligently. You became a white collar criminal. You bought up a small abandoned house in france, made key people indebted to you. You studied up on everything there was to know about anatomy and mental illness. Concrete planning began in July 2023, when you finally found out the adress.
- Shondos meds, chloroform, benzos, forged papers, a burner phone, a rental car with blacked out windows. A signal jammer, a transport box and a cargoship waiting for you in Suffolk. Everything was ready.
- You knew the date her family would be on a small weekend outing. She had always been too loose-lipped in her streams.
- Six months. I’ll have at least six months of piece and quiet for our honeymoon.
- As far as your family and environment were concerned, you finally had enough and decided to ditch everything to go on a sabbatical in South America. You already had them convinced you were going off the deep end with conspiracies like non ionizing radiation. They did not expect to hear from you anytime soon. They never really cared anyways. No one did. No one but my beloved Shondo.
- 3 am. You finally arrive at the house. You had parked the rental 12 hours ago. Dogs are notoriously noisy. Can’t take my chances.
- You dyed your hair and wore contacts, like in your forged passport. You put your hand in your pocket and find what you’re looking for. The most powerful instrument in your kit. The cold metal is making you feel at ease. The door is solid. No way you could’ve bypassed it. Luckily, you have a key. I’m really doing this, aren’t I?
- The landlord, on the other hand, had laughable security. They always keep a spare, legal or not, don’t they? He didn’t lock his door properly and the gap was just big enough for the shaped wire. You snatched his spare key, let a locksmith made a copy, and returned it to its place one day later.
- You are quite proud of your diligence. 2 months ago you took 7 days off just to scout that old farts routine.
- You put your gloves on and make your way to the car. You need the transport box for the cat and the chloroform for shondo.
- Let’s get to work
- You open the door, still trembling. Would she be there? Would her family be gone as expected?
- After you set down the transport box, and close the door behind you, you navigate to a bedroom. It is empty. Her brothers...
- You open another door. So this is it. The room is an utter mess, like you always imagined it to be.
- You see her setup and the empty bunk bed. And there she layed. You had known what she “really” looked like for a while, but it didn’t matter. To you she will always be a little girl. Sheltered, yet surprisingly wise. Born to suffer, she had to learn navigating a scary world filled with scary people and even scarier thoughts. She wasn’t made for this hell. Therefore, her sealed fate was to die young, yet stay even younger. What others, including her family, call disturbing escapist regression has always been the most gorgeous thing to you. This crippled hull concealed a beautiful girl, her radiance unmatched by anyone else. Your body and your mind is just a cage. I will set your soul free, if you let me.
- You make your way to Shondos bed and put her to sleep. So light
- You carry her through the mess and glance out of the front door.
- No witnesses.
- You can’t help but look at her face. It didn’t matter to you, but the girl in your arms really looked cute. After you drop Shondo off in the trunk you return for the cat.
- Otis was sleeping. He didn’t make a sound when you grabbed him. You always had been good with animals. You grab Shondos phone and the transport box.
- After the deed is done, you hurry to the port. You are meant to rendezvous with your contact at 5 am.
- The ship is scheduled to leave for france at 6.
- 3 days later
- It is a shame, but you had to drug your wife for the rest of your plan to work. The rental was self checkout. Making some pictures of it’s state and sending it over WhatsApp is all it takes. Everything is so convenient these days. I’m glad they took cash. You had given the car, the evidence and your burner phone to another middleman, who would deal with it somewhere else. No one would know you boarded a ship that night. You and your wife, that is. Oh, and Otis, too. The perfect crime.
- The sailors and the captain treated you and your fosterling kindly. The whole crew were bought by a kind family in Mexico. You had done their paperwork for them since the beginning of 2022. Accounting was your passion, after all. And once again, as always, you accounted for everything.
- Today is the day. You can’t wait to see your wife. You attended to some business in the small village, some little surprises you ordered in advance to gift her once she feels comfortable in her new house. A place just for herself and her husband, like she always wanted. As much as you despised her family, they should’ve found a suitcase filled with cash, in Mamas little wardrobe, by now. If she was as rotten as she was dumb, and as selfish and neglectful of her daughter as you always suspected, the police would never know of its existence. With the in-laws taken care of, your thoughts are with your wife alone.
- You enter the “abandoned” house. One door, no windows. You turn the lights on and lock the door behind you. Kitchen, bedroom, bathroom, two basements, living room with no media except books and board games. You make sure her phone is in the safe. It is, along with her meds.
- You hide the bag with the gifts for Shondo in a cabinet in the living room.
- Finally, it was time to meet your wife. No more narcotics. It was time to meet her for real.
- You unlock a reinforced steel door and close it behind yourself. You turn the sterile white lights on and go down the stairs to your very own playgrund.
- Antique torturing devices, your most priced collection, decorated the bleak, cold, L-shaped room.
- You almost trip over a small bowl adorned with cartoon cats. It was filled with mouse shaped cat treats.
- How cute you think to yourself. You’d bought it the day before. Now, standing in the rooms center, you turn your head around, trembling with excitement. And there she was, in the corner, chained to an ancient pillory, obviously completely out of it. The ugly creature guarding her. It makes you smile affectionately. Thanks for taking care of her these last few years, little one.
- “Hi Shondo, hi Otis, I can’t wait to get to know you.”
- What do you want to do?
- Be nise.
- Cherish her in the way she deserves to be treated.
