- I want to fix enough of my broken self to write good fiction.
- I see certain things in a grandiose way but bog down on specifics.
- My most difficult problem is writing credible, real, good, character
- interaction in the society I would create. I loose...focus...cohesion...
- and then despair that this ignorant fumbling is worthless.
- This is a premise with a current observation and then *poof* mystical,
- magical, a cardboard Greek god from the machine (deus ex machina)
- intervention.
- Known: Certain activities that should be driven by factual information
- includes engineering, some human behavior, some science have a
- reasonably quick feedback loop that will show an error. You build a
- bridge wrong, if falls, you drink too much water too fast you'll get
- sick or die, your work can't be duplicated and your science is foul.
- Other activities that should be driven by factual information but take
- multiple generations of distorted information to show error is where I
- see us failing drastically now. Faux money, the holy religion of
- immutable science, etc, in essence anything that does not have an
- immediate failure mode that can be twisted by humans to be an irrational
- condition is where I see us failing.
- Story fodder:
- If the printing of faux money causes the politician(s) who directed its
- creation to die instantly would we have faux money? Same for any
- activity that if allowed to fester would cause grave harm. Note: While
- bad things happened after two presidents who did this without proper
- obeisance to the 'real power' were killed the 'real power' were also
- human so don't really count.
- Just a mysterious death, consistently applied for certain acts, that is
- sadistic, brutal and final. No vast and hollow proclamations from
- curtains, no explanation, nothing. When it occurs should be a fixed
- time from when the offense occurs. I'm all for them dying hideously
- when submitting it to become an official act but before it becomes
- cemented in law, rule or regulation.
- Now write how people deal with that. Also does this usher in a glorious
- golden age or does it destroy their spirit, their culture...and if ....
- yea I get lost at this point. I'm not very good with people and suspect
- they'd screw it up somehow.
- Perhaps writing the screwup as screwed up as possible...
- The rules are kind of writhing around in my head.
- The rule can be idiotic, irrational, etc but has to be consistently
- and ALWAYS applied.
- These are mostly designed to effect government officials or lawgivers or
- whatever happens to be ruling.
- Now does the law take effect or do all the promoters of it die
- hideously before any law can be made?
- When should the lying scientist die?
- Some rules:
- No faux money, no paper or plastic ONLY items that have an intrinsic
- worth. You direct it to be made and you die. Yea, that's going to be
- fun...wtf are checks? Also no bits or bytes. No loans, no stocks,
- bonds or bondage. Woops free speech takes a hit. Stating how much of
- a currency item you have may be construed as a measure of worth. Tsk Tsk
- No junk science, you don't get to promote your delusion. You just die.
- That kind of warps folk to be very careful to do no science...perhaps
- the society ends up with volunteers who die for science...
- Perhaps it ends up with slaves who die for science...
- Such ick...such glory. ;)
- You weave your religions excretions into the law, die. You might want
- to make sure the will of the whole people are on your side.
- You probably will die anyway. I expect there to be a lot of martyrs.
- Doing the stupid over and over again.
- etc etc adnauseum...
