- ------------------------------------------------------Spectrals AKA You!-------------------------------------------------------------
- Spectrals are humans that physically interact with spectral entities such as ghosts and spirits. They possess spectral energy, and can be mistaken for a human ghost from a distance.
- Spectrals possess spectral energy, and manipulate it to fight or otherwise interact with other spectral entities.
- Spectrals can host dying spirits, either as a medium or by wielding a tool. The hosted spirit will absorb stray spectral energy exuded by the spectral until it has fully recovered. While hosting a spirit, the host can utilize a form of the spirit's powers. Spectrals can only host spirits that have the same color of spectral energy.
- ----------------------------------------------------------Tools AKA Woah Oh!-------------------------------------------------------
- Tools are the supernatural items used by members of the Activity Club to jump-start their development as spectrals and fight off malevolent spirits.
- Spirits that are fatally wounded can use the last remains of their power to inhabit an object they come across as they are on their "last legs". When this happens, they must reside in this object for an extended period of time - that is, until a spectral with the right energy color comes across it, possibly with the spirit subconsciously calling out to them.
- When they finally reach their tool and take it as their own, the spectral can draw upon the original powers of that spirit and use it however they please, while the spirit inside slowly absorbs the energy of their host and uses it to heal themselves, in a sort of spiritual symbiotic relationship that is beneficial to both parties. During this process, the tool also eventually comes to look like the spirit inhabiting it, until the spirit eventually emerges from the tool fully restored.
- The process can also work on people and turn them into mediums, which lets them use the spirit's powers all on their own.
- A spectral can activate a sort of "heightened perception" and see the world their spirit apparently inhabits alongside their own, which moves extremely slow as a result. It is in this state that a spectral can fully view and even communicate with their spirit, though it is also only during this time that a spirit can harm and even kill the spectral. Contact with the tool can be harmful to the spectral in other ways, as the spirit shares their senses of the outside world and can apparently even take control of their body for a time,
- Example Tools
- Baseball Bat - Attracts metals to the bat but the metals themselves cannot harm spirits. Spirit is a large black snake
- Paint Brush - create large strokes of black paint in thin air that stay there.
- Sunglasses - Creation and manipulation of light. Spirit is a robed figure with a birdcage for a head. The bird inside speaks with a british accent
- Toilet Plunger - Bring reflections to life. Spirit is a large frog-like creature that is racist against spectrals.
- -----------------------------------------------Character Creation--------------------------------------------------------------------
- At character creation you get to start with a total of 8 points to spend on positive qualities. For instance: 4x Good[+2]=8
- So you could start with four good qualities. Or you could have one Expert[+4] and two Good[+2] qualities. No matter what you chose however, you need a weakness aswell, a Poor[-2] quality. This can never be increased as it represents a fundamental flaw in your character.
- These qualities are the normal qualities, now lets look at Static Qualities.
- Along with the qualities you chose for yourself, you get some at game start that cannot be improved in the standard way(via exp points), if at all. These are increased by me at either certain story beats, or by your actions.
- They are:
- Motivation[+2]: This should be a single word or short phrase that describes your characters current goal in life. Examples: Love, Wealth, Respect, Protecting. As a student you could also just have this be whatever they want to be when they grow up!
- Origin[+2]: Describes where your character is from, usually where he or she was born and raised. Examples: Crime family, Latchkey Kid, Street urchin
- Note: For Motivation and Origin, you CAN decrease your bonus in one to pump up the other. Motivation[+4] and Origin[0] for instance, leaving Origin as simply fluff for your character.
- Tool[0]: This starts at 0. It represents your power as one of the spectrals. It augments everything you do under the right circumstances.
- Social Link[0](Name): Starts at 0. Ranked up as I see characters develop relationships and respect for one another. One for each character in the party. Note that you can only add a name to the stat when your characters have been introduced to each other.
