  1. Mac Nessa is a former feudal world that had been cut off by Imperial influence by warp storms until 200~ years ago. When the warp storms subsided, the planet was seized upon by three interested parties- a Chaos warband called the Blasphemous Maw, a Dark Angels fleet-based successor chapter known as the Adamant Angels, and a ship holding a regiment of Black Templars. Upon landing on the planet, the Angels Adamant and Black Templars agreed to work together to defeat and purge the Blasphemous Maw from the planet.
  2.
  3. Upon landing, they found that the planet's settlers had degraded to the point of feudalism and technology equivalent to the European middle ages. Shortly afterwards, the Chief Librarian of the Angels Adamant, Israfel, received a geneseed memory of Caliban, the destroyed planet of the Dark Angels and their Primarch Lion El'Johnson. The planet's human populace had fallen apart into warring tribes and kingdoms in the most habitable regions, and had not made much progress. The following campaign was enacted to expel the Blasphemous Maw as well as unite the planet and bring it into the fold of the Empire. The planet's name was given by the kingdom of Mac Nessa, the largest and most cooperative kingdom. Shortly after landing and making contact, the Space Marines of both chapters met with King Mac Nessa to tell him the history of the Imperium. Upon reaching the climax of the Horus Heresy, the king was so excited that he drew his sword and pledged his loyalty, but his head burst as the result of an old war wound which otherwise required him to remain calm.
  4.
  5. Still, with the pledged loyalty of Mac Nessa, the Angels and Templars went out to purge the planet. Reinforcements were called from the Imperial Guard to engage in standard warfare while the Space Marines went to perform tactical strike operations as were proper for their strategy. While most of the engagements went in the favor of the Imperium, trouble was found as they went further into the forests of Mac Nessa and found Beasts of Chaos which had been tamed by Chaos Sorcerers and utilized as mounts by the renegade Space Marines of the Blasphemous Maw.
  6.
  7. Further troubles were found as mines which had been opened up to farm the resources of the planet also contained Beasts of Chaos. The greatest battle of the campaign took place in orbit, as Chaos reinforcements exited the warp and engaged the Black Templars' ship, in combat, exchanging fire and boarding actions. The damage to both ships was great, and almost symmetrical, leading to the both of them falling through the atmosphere and landing in the northern hemisphere of Mac Nessa. In the ruinous crater, combat continued among the survivors of the Black Templars and Blasphemous Maw, as planet-bound reinforcements made their way to the wreckage to provide support. In the end, the Chaos ship was disabled and destroyed, and the wreckage of the Black Templars' ship would be refurbished and remade into an impromptu base of operations, hereby renamed as Fort Fist. A call for reinforcements to the Black Templars' chapter was made, but would not be received and acted upon for some time.
  8.
  9. The Adamant Angels came to further appreciate and desire the world, as more and more of the chapter's members had awakened genetic memories of the planet. Some would describe falling into a reverie or trance where they would hallucinate and see visions of Caliban, even those who had no trace of psychic power. As they fought the numerous Beasts of Chaos and their riders, the Adamant Angels would strip the corpses of the beasts and reuse their hides, bones, and claws as adornments for their armor and weaponry.
  10.
  11. Over the course of several years, the resource bases of the Blasphemous Maw would be reclaimed and purged, and a final mission into the earth would lead to the destruction of the Blasphemous Maw's headquarters and leaders. The site was cordoned off, and efforts to purge the area of the taint of Chaos began. However, further investigation found numerous escape hatches and tunnels from which the warbands members had escaped.
  12.
  13. With the threat mostly destroyed, both chapters came to meet and begin negotiations for the future of the planet. The Adamant Angels and Black Templars both desired to use Mac Nessa as a recruitment world. The Adamant Angels wished to headquarter their forces there and oversee its reinforcement and future, whereas the Black Templars would begin their standard practice of installing a recruitment base with an associated Chaplain. As both chapters had no ill will towards each other and came into little conflict during the course of the campaign, it came to be decided with a metaphorical coin toss.
  14.
  15. A commemorative stone slab 'coin' was carved, and two members of each chapter would work together to throw the slab into the air. Each side was marked with heraldry of the chapters. The coin toss was an event where members of both chapters, as well as nobility of the planet and their retainers, attended. Upon throwing the coin into the air, it became engulfed in a golden light and a vision of an angel in gold power armor appeared to all in attendance, proclaiming that both chapters would take residence and recruits from the planet, before the slab fell to the ground on its side.
  16.
  17. The initial toss was met with suspicion and complaints from both chapters, and the heads would initiate a second toss with all psychic members of the chapters and locals removed. Again, the angel appeared and said the same thing, and again the coin landed on its side. For the sake of absolute assurance, it was decided that the third toss would be held underground and with no witnesses besides those who would toss the coin and a neutral member of the Adeptus Mechanicus, who would record the event. This time, the angel appeared and said the same thing, but this time began listing names before the coin was dropped onto its side. Within hours, the long-requested Black Templars reinforcement ship arrived in orbit. When the ship's manifest was brought to the leader of the Black Templars, it was found that the angel was reciting the names of the Templars aboard the ship.
  18.
  19. With this third toss and its nature, it was decided that despite the redundancy, both chapters would station themselves upon the planet. The Adamant Angels would take in recruits from the nobility of the planet, and the Black Templars would take recruits from the most pious or criminals of the planet. Within 200 years, the planet would be developed, cities built up, and mines delved into. Much of the forest remained, though, and various sightings of Beasts of Chaos would be reported. The Beasts are commonly used as part of the trials of recruitment for both chapters, as well as a source of entertainment for Rogue Traders or nobles who wish to engage in a safari hunt. The escaped members of the Blasphemous Maw have reared their heads from time to time, attempting to begin Chaos Cults. Local members of the Adeptus Arbites have done their best to stomp their heads in, but the potential for greater danger and implications remains.
  20.
  21. Now, Mac Nessa has caught the interest of the Inquisitor Gammera Fochs, who has recruited members for a coterie to investigate the goings-on, oddities, and heresy which have arisen.
  22.
  23. Tier 1/2, non-Xenos. Space Marine Scouts must be members of either the Angels Adamant(Dark Angels), Black Templars(Imperial Fists), or the neutral third party chapter, Marines Malevolent.
