- [20:57] Romani cos Montclaire says, "Close enough."
- [21:00] Dun would at last arrive before the ensemble of his family members, his mechanical artifice scanning over them and translating their visages into something almost resembling actual sigh as he tapped his chin thoughtfully with amusement.
- Not that could complain, they were his family after all.
- "It's relatively simple. Vanamir was my little sister. They married Robin, my former sidekick. Their children had you two. Romani's grandfather was my best friend, and Valero's wife was a former fellow retainer to House Brienne with myself before I left Osrona."
- The elder of the Fireblooded would nod firmly, it was all relatively simple when laid out like that.
- "Now, what brings all of you to my home on the precipice of war. Scones, conversation, scones and conversation?"
- (Dun Task)
- [21:03] "I knew all of thaaaat."
- A quick nod follow his statement, as the teenager kicked his feet up onto the table, leaning a bit back in his stool, before those emerald eyes of his shifted away from Dun, and over towards Romani.
- "He wanted to see ya', so I brought him here."
- A shrug follows, as he leans just a bit further back in his seat, threatening to fall out of it at any moment.
- "I do hope you are well though, Uncle."
- (Sparrow cos Queen)
- [21:04] The noble would sit at the table, glancing towards Task before nodding.
- "I was expecting a more friendly greeting, in all honesty." Romani admitted. "Nothing like the first topic brought up to a table being war and scones." A small sigh ever left him as he shook his head.
- "I came to talk. Because you are ever so bad at sending letters." A small tease from the Priest before pulling his attention upwards to look towards Dun.
- "When we last spoke, I had a bit of an epiphany, and things turned out alright. So perhaps, I am just attempting to follow that same spark as last time, and seeing where it leads me."
- "But first, are you well?"
- (Romani cos Montclaire)
- [21:05] Yani tucks the lazy child into his right, and let the other tuck into the left. Sometimes they swap places, clear signs of Magi. However, the father was able to keep in contact with them each as he listened to the cousins speak.
- "I'm talking about -- seeing that Rinn is basically your adopted daughter, what the heck would they be to you, and what would they be to them?"
- (Yani orn Task)
- [21:09] Arthur took a second as he look at the yevon and just shook his head as he looked at the man and hit him with his bottle. That was being a dumbass and getting two of his fingers chopped off as he look at the man and then setting his bottle on the table as he washed his hand to make sure they were clean. Taking the cloth from his bag as he laid it on the table folding it over as he smoothed out the cloth and pulling Yevon over to the table and resting his hand on it as he looked at the stumps there were his fingers. The problem was that the wound had stared to heal and he was going to have to cut the sink off if he wanted to make the parts fix.
- He took a second as he washed the blade before he started to push his mana into the weapon and started the cut, running the blade on the edge of the finger as he cut into the muscle. It was a sharp and heavy cut and for something like this he might have numbed the area but there was a lesson in what he was going. That lesson being to make sure that one was prepared to climb down a mountain. That was the third person that he had to treat because they didn't think to bring rope down with them for the most part and that was something he was going to make sure they remembered.
- Wiping down the area with the a mixture of gin and another disinfectant as he took out the prosthetics he took a second to make sure they were the right size for the finger that he was going to be replacing. Slowing placing them to the wound as he started to pour his mana into the prosthetic he needed to reconnect the mana circuit that was in his body. Give it a trail to follow he inch it alone until it was able to complete the circuits the man already had.
- "There ya go and don't get fucked up again ya hear? Or next time get some fucking rope."
- (Arthur)
- [21:12] "Ohohohohoho, you aren't wrong young Romani. I am not the best at friendly greetings these days, I reckon. It is good to see you are in good health, especially considering the recent antics within Osrona."
- Dun would nod steadily, finally formally greeting Romani and Sparrow as he clicked his teeth together, contemplating the eruption of war that was about to come and shatter the foundations of this fragile peace.
- "And....okay fair. I entirely forgot to send my letter, or write it for that matter. But I am also old, so you can't BLAME ME FOR BEING FORGETFUL."
- The elder of the Fireblooded would chuckle mirthfully, gesturing to both Sparrow and Romani with his remaining hand as he nodded.
- "I am as well as I can be for a man struck with a mortal, chronological disease that will kill me in twenty years. However, that is irrelevant now, what is relevant is that you do follow that spark. Offer me your doubts and concerns young men of the cloth, I will grant you wisdom."
- (Dun Task)
- [21:15] As Dun nodded, and clicked his teeth, Romani would raise his finger and waggle it back and forth.
- "I can entirely blame forgetfulness, even in old age. One must always attempt to do what they say they will and you never sent a letter. My poor child feelings, trampled upon." His tongue clicked against the roof of his mouth as he teased before hands came together.
- "A greeting is a greeting all the same." He gave a small nod.
- "I know that a lot of older people have been dying, recently. I had to read the Will of Berrios to his loved ones. But before I offer my doubts, I must first ask;"
- "Has Orsona done anything towards Theria after the war besides the transport of the head? And I do not mean hostile actions, but friendly ones as well."
- A hand would raise, waving towards Perciles and Del as they entered.
- (Romani cos Montclaire)
- [21:19] Up the mountain they went, a familiar sight for the Stellus as he further moved up the rocky stairs. His last adventure up to Theria was unfortunately one not of pleasure, but this time it was different.
- Sights to be seen, the biting cold that never left you to be once more felt upon his skin.
- A joy.
- "See, it's a beautiful place in its own unique way Del."
- An index-finger pointed out a few interesting sights, before finally arriving within the cities marketplace, familiar faces spotted within the crowd.
- Some he didn't expect to be up here too.
- "Romani, Sparrow, I didn't expect you two to be up here also."
- A hand of his own waved, before shifting his blue orbs towards other occupants of the table. Dun, Alya and Yani the trio that he actually knew of and had met before.
- "Yani, congratulations. Your children are blessed to have you as a Father. Dun you're still looking as energetic asever, and Alya, a pleasure to see you again."
- Sincere, the children were examined, a soft smile curling visibly on his lips as he briefly nodded, before offering further words towards the others.
- (Pericles Vitalis)
- [21:20] How exciting! It's so cold that death felt inviting. Perhaps they should have planned better but the snow and the thin air has their heart absolutely pumped. To venture up the mountain for the first time- The streets where their family spent several years of their life.
- They look around. The trees! The ground! All of the Drakanites!
- But their attention shifted to Urist, a smile ever present on soft- Somewhat red features due to the chill.
- "We're from the Celestial Church, yes..." A few steps closer. "This is my first time in Theria...! I'm very, very excited. I've been meaning to come for quite some time. My family is from here..." Quite yet overjoyed words.
- They peer around again before looking to the two Keepers, their beam smile directed to them alongside a smile.
- (Del mer Joyau)
- [21:25] This was certainly a fascinating sight to behold. The Church rolled up to say hello. At least four of them were around. Alya wasn't sure, given she hadn't exactly seen them come. It'd come to no surprise that she'd seem a bit suspicious of this sudden visit. Slowly, she made her way to the table that had been invaded by both Romani and Sparrow.
- "Yes, hello, all of you."
- Uncertainty was very obvious in her expression. The news of Theria's position was public and yet here they were. The very sudden and strange nature of this encounter did make for a rather confused Alya.
- "I'm glad you're enjoying the sights here, but may I ask what exactly brings this lovely congregation here?"
- She didn't sit down, instead keeping a straight posture and hands on her hips.
- "Just for the sake of transparency, you are aware of our stance with Myllenoris, yes? I don't want any unpleasant plot twists to sour moods."
- (Alya Kriemhild)
- [21:27] Dun would glance briefly over to Kaida's knitting, nodding lightly in the seeming endless industry of the fisherwoman. His mechanical eye turning to Romani, he'd scan over the young man for a time with a sense of general approval. This was Valero's blood, of that there was no doubt.
- "Ohohohohohoh, you got me. I, the villain of the tale, the fell wizard Task, have smitten your heart with my roguery and lack of THOUGHTFULNESS. BE FELLED NOBLE HERO, YOU ARE BUT ASH UPON THE WIND."
- The elder would cough lightly, his overlord voice straining his vocal cords after all these years. It had been far too long since those days.
- "Oh, Berrios passed? That actually is rather sad. He was one of my friends long ago, I recall chatting with him at a Gala about something regarding cheese and giraffes."
- Dun would nod lightly, clicking his teeth once more.
- "But to answer your question, no. I daresay the gift basket with oneof our god's children's skull was the first effort of even half assed diplomacy I've seen from their front throughout the whole conflict. The king is an opportunist advised by opportunists."
- The elder would nod firmly, this was the way.
- "And yes, I knew your grandfather young Joyau. He was one of my fellow warlords....one I admittedly probably wasn't the best friend back to. It was a chaotic time."
- Dun would snap his fingers once more, nodding.
- "Greetings champion, looking healthy as ever. Might I say this is an ideal time to discuss the stance of the celestial church on the war to come? In truth, you'd all be better off getting out of Dodge while you can, the corrupted fabric of Osrona doesn't deserve the purity of your faith."
- (Dun Task)
- [21:29] "For full transparency and knowing of what is going on..." He places his two kids down on the table, close together while letting his eyes focus on the people from Osrona. "We're with Myllenoris in this."
- "We heard the story, about the cabbages and the possible utilization of things. How they were on the offensive, again, and basically following Serea's footsteps.
- You know me. I am never going to work with the crown. However, I do love people. So, I ask you, kindly, to go tell Alexander, if hundreds of thousands of people do not want to die, to, well, fuck off; step down or something."
- Clear, concise and to the point. No holds bard, and no punches.
- (Yani orn Task)
- [21:31] With his feet still firmly planted on the table, those emerald eyes of his would shift over towards the Drakanite.
- "Visiting family."
- A hand would motion towards his cousin, and their two kids, before another would motion towards the elder. A glance would then be spared over towards Yani.
- "You could have said this when you brought us up here, y'know."
- Oh well.
- A shrug follows, as the Keeper shifts his feet off of the table, planting them on the ground.
- "But no, we weren't aware of Theria's stance. If that's the case, I suppose we can leave this family reunion for later."
- (Sparrow cos Queen)
- [21:35] Alya looked uncertain, and suspicious, and spoke of a stance with Myllenoris. But ultimately, and for that same transparency, Romani would simply shake his head.
- "I have not heard the stance currently between Myllenoris and Theria. But either way, I suppose it does good to clarify our own as well. To my knowledge, the church defends from attacks on Orsonan territory, as well as the bridge. It is not a force often on the offensive."
- His eyes would then look back towards Task, before offering a nod.
- "Percisely." He teased. "The vile Task, ever working to bring down the courage of children. My heart, it is ever shattering from your thoughtlessness." He shook his head, but then the topic changed to Berrios.
- "He did. It was heart breaking, in all honesty. There was a lot of crying, regarding it." A click of his tongue against the roof of his mouth as he shook his head. "And unfortunate. I kept recommending that they try to stay in touch and communicate but it truly does seem that no attempt for such was made."
- Even so? Yani's words do catch him off guard. A shake of his head, a small tutting of his tongue. "Again, as long as things do not happen to harm the innocents of Orsona, and it is not about Witches, I do not feel as if it is my place. If I see people attacked in front of me, I will attempt to stop it, and if I am attacked, I will fight back."
- "But again, my stance is defensive, not offensive."
- (Romani cos Montclaire)
- [21:37] Attention shifted from the wonders of the snow and the biting breeze to semi-exposed legs to Alya. Her brilliant white wings recalled vividly from the woman's appearance alongside darkness at the bridge.
- Hopefully they're more pristine- The white and golden that protrudes from her back... But she soon speaks of transparency. Politics? Would such arise on an entirely neutral and personal trip up the mountain? At least on the part of the two Clergy members not at the table. Del looked to the side. Talks of this- Stances and alliances with who and what being what they disliked...
- Politics...
- So, they looked at the elderly sounding masked man. Del recalled a picture, somewhere, that they saw. Who showed them it? A glance made to Yani, before looking at Dun, eyes a little wide.
- "Oh..."
- Surprise, first. Someone alive who knew their grandparent? Yet, the two weren't the best of friends as he describes. Del knew very little of those times. Their father being a child at the time of it all. By the time Del came about it was all a foggy memory. Hazy stories told.
- "How- Mh... What were those times like...?" They asked. Stances once more ignored. It was personal, this trip. Del had no enemies. "I didn't get to speak with my grandparent that often..." Already out and about, this sunken Warlord.
- (Del mer Joyau)
- [21:37] Pericles remained standing as blue eyes looked across the myriad of faces that were within the bustling market, it was a pleasant sight the whistling Kaida to the side that knitted away had his gaze pausing for a moment.
- It probably was time for him to buy more clothes, a mental note made as he turned back onto the table, but more specifically Alya.
- "Language Yani."
- An index-finger idly pointed towards the children placed onto the table, their cherub faces getting a lasting glance, the innocence of the world seared within memory.
- "But, I did not know of Theria's stance, otherwise truthfully I wouldn't of come up to the mountain. I wouldn't wish to cause a conflict to spark between us."
- Information that he hadn't known about freely admitted to, it seemed he would have to think further on the matter, Dun's words catching his attention and knocking him out of his thinking.
- The wizard still had a way with words, drawing eyes upon him with the overlord voice that sounded out. A slight sigh escaped his lips as he spoke about the skull, the dragon in general caused distaste to run rampant.
- And not towards the flying beast, but towards how the matter was handled after they had claimed victory.
- A ransom would of been preferred.
- "There'll be an announcement soon about the Celestial Church's stance, so there's no confusion for the future. But, we're the spirit of Osrona, the defenders. We are not conquerors."
- Words that would be easily deciphered when thought on, a smile remaining on his lips as he looked around at the occupants, gaze shifting towards the buildings he hadn't got the chance to examine on his past journey when politics were involved.
- (Pericles Vitalis)
- [21:38] "If you're not conquerors, then why aren't you... telling the King to step down as well with the Queen?"
- That was the only question he had going forward, he didn't care if they were defensive or offesnsive, but it did make him unhappy.
- "If you're fully aware that they are going to try to conquer, basically did a whole thing to conspire, then?"
- (Yani orn Task)
- [21:38] Pericles Vitalis says, "If only it was that simple."
- [21:39] Romani cos Montclaire says, "It is not the job of the Faith to tell the Monarch to stand down. It is not our role."
- [21:39] Yani orn Task says, "Let me walk you through a one, two step process. Step one. You acknowledge the situation thoroughly. Step two. You get the entirety of the city to go 'this is madness' and then either force them to give it up, or to ..."
- [21:43] "We've tried."
- A sigh escapes from the teenager's lips, as his head slowly moves from side to side, as he pushed himself out from his seat.
- "He seems Helbent on... Whatever this is."
- A few steps would be taken to move away from the table, all while those emerald eyes remained locked on the table. Only for them to focus on his cousin.
- "It's not that easy Yani. I wish it was, believe me I do."
- Another sigh follows, as he begins to make his departure. There was no reason to stay here any longer. Tensions would only increase, and he'd rather avoid all of that.
- "But, I'd rather not start something that doesn't need to... Happen. So I believe we should take our leave. Yes?"
- (Sparrow cos Queen)
- [21:47] Family matters.
- Oh boy. Now if she did anything about this, Alya would be the big fat bad guy. And maybe sometimes a leader had to be that. But it almost seemed out of place, given the relationship some of these people had with the inhabitants here, she didn't downright explode.
- Many had their say, some humour was directed right at Yani, Perciles kept the peace and overall the information disseminated by Myllenoris didn't make things too clear.
- "No, it isn't the Church's place."
- She spoke up, pinching the bridge of her nose in visible annoyance over the situation. The people didn't annoy her, merely the piles of crap that accumulated over this conflict.
- "It's the duty of the PEOPLE to tell the Monarch to stand down. And you, in all your status-quo loving glory, are letting some boy-king drag you into another war born out of his complete and utter fuck-up."
- Steps were taken, closing the gap between her and the Stellus.
- "If your goal is to actually defend Osrona, then get rid of the actual problem. EVERYONE outside of your walls hates your King, or rather your leadership. You're dragged into a war over HIS DRAMA. Fuck, replace him with Mary or whatever jerkoff you prefer, but you have a VERY easy option to prevent many, many deaths. And it doesn't even involve killing your King, unlike the choice you've given us to basically give Duana away to die."
- She needed to cool down. Pausing, a breather was taken.
- "Mm. If you wish to spend some time with family before blades are drawn, fine. I won't stop you. I won't arrest you. Pericles has proven time and time again he can be trusted with diplomacy and peaceful exchanges. Don't linger too long, if you are adamant on fighting your King's personal war."
- (Alya Kriemhild)
- [21:54] Alya had... Raised quite a fair point. Which elicits a hum from the Keeper, as he ponders what exactly to do from here, only to let out a small sigh.
- "It's something to consider."
- In the end, it the choice wouldn't come up to him. He was but a humble priest, but he trusted in his teacher, Pericles, to make the right call when it comes to all these sorts of things.
- He was the Stellus, it was his duty.
- "Thank you for your time, and I'm sorry for causing any disturbances. That was never my intention. I do hope you'll come to forgive us for this."
- It was never their intention to cause a scene. Just to visit family for a bit.
- A split second before the Priest would make his departure, a familiar voice would reach his ears. Which prompts him to turn on his heels, as his emerald eyes rested on Osiris.
- "...Yes. We should probably talk. Not here though, I know a place."
- Unless stopped, Sparrow would motion for the Felinae to follow, before walking out of Theria.
- (Sparrow cos Queen)
- [21:58] "You need not worry, champion. This is a visit of your faith, and it is not one you are endangered upon. Your people are under my protection within this city. I would insist you do not leave yet Sparrow, or else I will...not tell you more stories. You are undone."
- Dun would thoughtfully click his teeth together as he mulled upon the matter at hand, humming to himself as he heard everyone's piece and part with a calculating disposition. It was a lot of information to process after all, but he did his best to break it down bit by bit.
- "In truth though? It sounds like Osrona is relying upon the priesthood to be blooded for the sins of their conquering nature. They started a war knowing they can't finish it, knowing armies will come to siege your walls and force you to act, to die protecting innocents because of the wants of a conqueror boy king and his slightly more conqueror mother."
- The elder of the Fireblooded would nod steadily, clicking his teeth together.
- "My take young heir of Valero's faith? Take the innocents and build a temple somewhere the crown won't drag you and your actually moralistic beliefs down."
- Dun would nod to Lukas' descendant briefly, trying not to ignore them while also responding to many people at once.
- "Yes, I knew him well, I'd be happy to tell you stories from that time in the future. It is what I'm rather good at these days."
- Turning back to the group, he would nod again.
- "I'll offer you some simple guidance. If Valero still lived, he'd be disgusted by the monarchy's lack of piousness, and would have left himself. He served the original Queen Petrakis because they were far, far less pathetic."
- (Dun Task)
- [21:59] Towards Yani's prompting, Romani would have said only one thing. "It is not the job of the Faith to tell the Monarch to stand down. It is not our role."
- However, Romani would shake his head in disagreement with Alya. "The Petrakis family was given the divine right to rule by the angels. It is not the duty or place of the people to tell such a chosen monarch to stand down. It is the duty of the angels to take away that divine right if they have lost it."
- "It is not the place of men." Perhaps it was the nobility in Romani talking, but he would make a simple shake of his head. "In that same way, it is not our place or role to attack. It is the church's role to find Witches. In this war, I have no reason to believe there are."
- "It is a noble's place to advise. And I do intend to talk to the King when I return back from here. However," Romani would then stand up, trailing back towards the group of his fellow priests.
- "It is a place of a church to defend the Faithful. Should the war take place inside of his walls? We will defend. Should it be on the bridge that people make livelihoods off of? We will defend. To me, that is our role."
- "We do not replace. We do not question the choices of the angels. They may always make their choice to change known." A shake of his head before finally stopping next toe the rest of the Celestial church.
- "Dun, I must apologize. We may wish to converse further over letters. In the desire for less bloodshed, it would be better not to be here to ease tensions. That said, your words are noted. I appreciate the advice."
- (Romani cos Montclaire)
- [22:02] "The duty of the church is to protect those and to teach, isn't it? Tell me, in the Codex Cosmos, wasn't there a story of such a thing that happened, when an Angel came down and spoke to people that wanted war?
- This isn't the will of Kraus, or whatever," he muttered as he was only remembering the Codex Cosmos like he could. He didn't remember it much, but it was enough to have him get the point across. "Conquering isn't something that the people who follow the stars should do, to follow false pretenses. They are to guide those towards peace, through words, not by violence and blood shed."
- (Yani orn Task)
- [22:03] Dun would simply shake his head, gesturing towards the skies above with his remaining hand as he nodded lightly to Romani.
- "The angels are corruptible and fallable as any, Romani. It is why the celestial faith looks at the incorruptibility, vibrance, and purity of the stars. Because angels can make mistakes, and stars can't."
- The elder would nod firmly, clicking his teeth together.
- "It's why Valero put all his faith in his star, to be a prophet of Geist. He saw past the machinations of the nobility and the court. His delving into the depths of scripture derived such a viewpoint, he scorned the angels as corruptible. Now, did the stars choose the boy king?"
- Dun would click his teeth.
- "I doubt it."
- (Dun Task)
- [22:04] Alya Kriemhild says, "I said they could stay and visit their relatives, but not dick around either."
- [22:05] Time to leave.
- A shame their trip had to end so fast, but politics was something the commitment avoiding Stellus did his best to avoid, especially when it was something that wouldn't actually benefit the Faith or the people.
- "We'll be heading out now, thank you for your time."
- A dip of his head followed his words, Romani's words were a perfect representation of what he could of spoken, a smile further curling on his lips as he pivoted on a heel after a moment of pause.
- No, he couldn't think of anything else to add to the departing words, anything more might have him staying for longer.
- "Well, now that we're all together we can have this last meeting hm?"
- Words for the trio as he left the snow, and headed back towards the Shimmering City.
- What a mess.
- (Pericles Vitalis)
- [22:08] "You are talking of 'Mikael beseeches the heavens', are you not?" Romani would inquire towards Yani. "It is a book of many things, and while that may be one of the lessons, that Angel choose to come down and speak of it. This is not a case where one has." The Priest said, simply.
- And after, his glance moved towards Dun. "Leonaus, the Celestial Lion. Under the Petrakris bloodline, that is the protective constellation which guides Orsona. The stars have chosen the Petrakris bloodline, and while they do not choose child by name, they indeed did choose Alexander all the same."
- With that, Romani would turn, nodding to Perciles. "As you ask, Perclies. I will follow out."
- (Romani cos Montclaire)
