  1. "What if there was a PC nation in Hyperdimensional Neptuna that had always been around?"
  2.
  3. Laputer was actually originally Vert's nation. It is an island a good ways off shore, so it went mostly untouched by the Console Wars.
  4. Vert came to the mainland some time after the Wars and founded Leanbox.
  5. No one's sure who is currently the goddess of Laputer. Some say Vert, but she has almost nothing to do with the place anymore, outside of the occasional Leanbox adventurer going there.
  6. Laputer is a trade and economy based nation, and there is currently a battle for the top position right now between the various guild leaders and heads of commerce in the nation, a battle that may end with a goddess being created if certain parties have their way.
  7. There is no official guild, but there are a few "privately-owned" guilds to fill the role.
  8. The most prominent is the Pipeworks, named for the delivery tubes all over the island they use to transport goods and information. The Pipeworks started as a way for adventurers to share information and get publicity, but now is the defacto guild to join, despite the cut they take and their infamous lack of support if someone needs help with guild business. They also have started accepting basically anyone, lowering their standards quite a lot.
  9.
  10.
  11. The Pipeworks are run by Vavlie, an adventurer who retired to become a businesswoman. She has several adventurers who work directly for the company, including Tiff, Dota, Portla, Costri, and Swarm. However, her most well known adventurer hasn't been seen in years. Some say Halife was the first Laputer adventurer to Ascend, while others rumor that Vavlie has her locked away deep inside her HQ, kept in a coma and guarded by a warrior armed with ricocheting discs.
  12. Vavlie's rivals for the top position include Eia and Ubi, both of whom have much smaller organizations, mostly made up of their own adventurers. They seem to be having a miniature version of the original Console Wars, fighting for the most shares to become the leader, and possibly a goddess.
  13.
  14. There's also "Greatest Of Gamindustri", often simply called the Good Old Guild, a guild who's selling point is the lack of a contract- adventurers can take jobs as they see fit, and work for any other guild at the same time. Arfoire has used this guild in the past to locate adventurers of interest to her. Laputer is also much more friendly to independent, non-guild adventurers than other nations are. Mainlanders tend to think of Laputer citizens as being demanding, needing lots of money and power, while those from Laputer consider the others inferior, using weak equipment without much reduction in cost, and having much worse eyesight and reaction times.
