  1. Monday
  2. >A loud crash startles you from your sleep.
  3. >Looking at your nightstand, you see it is completely destroyed.
  4. >Sighing, you reach over and make sure the magic rune you placed on it won't trigger again.
  5. “So much for a magic rune alarm...”
  6. >Yawning, you take a quick look at your clock.
  7. “Well it worked... just not how I wanted.”
  8. >Deciding to look into it later, you start getting ready for school.
  9. >Clean
  10. >Clothed
  11. >And fed. You make note of the time.
  12. “Should be plenty of time to find my new class.”
  13. >Grabbing your bag, you head out the door.
  14. >It's a rather dull day as clouds hang in the sky, hiding the sun.
  15. >But it's a nice change of pace from all the sun recently, plus you enjoy it not blinding you.
  16. >Down the stairs, you look both ways, almost expecting Twilight to be there.
  17. >After a minute or two, Twilight appears from around the corner down the street.
  18. >You smile and wave at her as she trots closer.
  19. >”Good morning Anonymous,” she chirps as you begin walking with her.
  20. “Morning Twilight.” greeting her.
  21. >Her horn glows as her saddle bag opens.
  22. >Two books fly out and into your reach.
  23. >”No pony ever checks out magic books but if you wish you can borrow them.”
  24. >Grabbing them, you put them in your bag.
  25. “Thanks Twilight, I'll look at them later, I visited the library again and got some new books as well.”
  26.
  27. >Small talk bounces between both of you as you head towards the school.
  28. >Most of it was about the books you got from the library and recent study of magic runes.
  29. >Using magic elements to etch symbols into objects or even the air itself can provide pretty interesting effects.
  30. >Such as your attempt for an alarm clock!
  31. >”But they only last an hour if you get it perfectly right.”
  32. “I know, that's why I used multiple runes.”
  33. >Twilight makes some noises as if she can't believe what she's hearing.
  34. >”Ah pft but...how?”
  35. >Before you can speak it dawns on her.
  36. >”Ohhhhh... that’s pretty clever Anonymous!”
  37. “Thanks, but it failed, like I said.”
  38. >”They are not meant to be chain-casted like that.”
  39. “I know that now... My nightstand knows that too.”
  40. >She just gives you a questioning look as both of you are walking into the schools' hallway.
  41. “It looks like someone just ran into my room and body slammed my nightstand and walked out.”
  42. >”What?!” Twilight asks, trying to hold back her giggle.
  43. “I'm serious! It looks like someone just ran in body slammed my nightstand and left.”
  44. >Twilight manages to hold back her giggle as both of you walk into the office.
  45. >The pony behind the counter looks up at both of you with a special hatred for those that are about to make her work.
  46. >”What is it?” Her gravely voice grinding into your ears.
  47. “Uh hi, I'm Anonymous, part of Celestia's special program for unicorns-”
  48. >”You don't look like a unicorn, she looks like a unicorn. She's supposed to be here, you're not.”
  49. >Deciding 'fuck this lady,' you keep talking after she's done.
  50. “And since I passed kindergarten and-”
  51. >”A Minotaur passing magic kindergarten!? Nothing special, please leave so I may help someone who can do magic.”
  52. “Oh, okay.” you say calmly as you step aside, gesturing Twilight to step forward.
  53.
  54. >Keeping your rage in check, you dig through your bag until you find the papers proving you are enrolled into the school.
  55. >Twilight's trying to reason with the old lady behind the desk as you walk back up.
  56. >”I thought I told you to leave,” she's clearly getting annoyed by you just existing.
  57. “Read this and give me my next class.” you demand, shoving the paper in her face.
  58. >You're having a harder time remaining calm as she takes her time to read it.
  59. >She even got a magnifying glass and started scanning it.
  60. >Looking over to Twilight, you can see she's stressing over something.
  61. “Go to class Twilight, I will be fine. Worse case scenario I'll go wait in Princess Celestia's court for an hour.
  62. >”Are you sure Anonymous?”
  63. “Yeah I'm sure,” keeping your annoyance in check is a bit harder.
  64. >Her head hangs low as she mouths the word “Sorry” as she trots off slowly.
  65. >Minutes pass as this cranky old pony scans over your papers.
  66.
  67. >Two ponies which look like guards come in scanning the room.
  68. >You're not enjoying the look they give you.
  69. >”That's him there, he won't leave after forging Princess Celestia's signature.”
  70. >You wanted to run over and bitch slap her.
  71. >But you stopped because the spear barely grazing your neck is more important to deal with.
  72. >The other guard is only looking at you rubbing his chin.
  73. >You sit very still as your brain attempts to deal with this.
  74. >You want to scream.
  75. >But you just sit there at spear point.
  76. >”You were in Mrs. Snowflakes class right?” The guard rubbing his chin addresses you.
  77. >The guard with the spear backs off just a bit as he looks at his partner.
  78. >The cunt screams, “What are you going on about, he's disrupting my work!”
  79. >You nod your head slowly.
  80. >The guard looks at the pony behind the desk.
  81. >”Let me see those papers.”
  82. >Before she can say or do anything he yanks them off her desk and begins scanning them.
  83. >He looks back at you.
  84. >”Use magic.”
  85. >With no thought, you make fire, holding it above your finger.
  86. >”Enough for me,” He scans the papers again, “Anonymous.”
  87. >The spear is removed as you relax.
  88. >The cunt behind the desk is stuttering and stammering something about it being forged.
  89. >One of the guards goes behind the desk and pushes her to the side as they begin going through papers.
  90. >Eventually he floats your papers and a new one to you.
  91. >”Here you go Anonymous, I'm sorry for this incident.”
  92. >Taking a look, it's where your next class is at.
  93. “Thank you,” you nod to the guard as he joins his partner, who is talking with the office cunt.
  94. >You hear something along the lines of “You need to take your medicine every morning, you can't come to work like this,” as you walk out.
  95.
  96. >Choosing to forget what just happened, you begin walking to your next class.
  97. “Mrs. Twinkleshine, huh. These pony names seem like they are straight out of a little girls cartoon.”
  98. >Reaching the classroom, you take a quick peak through the window to see if you are interrupting anything.
  99. >Of course you are, you're twenty minutes late!
  100. >You can see what you assume to be your teacher talking to the class.
  101. >Walking in, she stops as the class turns their attention to you.
  102. >The first thing you notice is her class seems to be mostly grown up, no mini ponies.
  103. >Second thing is Twilight's in the back with the biggest smile.
  104. >”Ah you must be... Anonymous was it?” your teacher with a pink mane and white coat asks as you float a piece of paper to her.
  105. “Correct.” You hand her your paper which she checks real quick.
  106. >”I hope you don't mind if we skip introductions today and just jump straight into today's lesson, if you need help with anything we can talk more after class.”
  107. >You can tell she's annoyed by your late arrival but you nod as you move to the back of the room and claim a seat next to Twilight.
  108. >Mrs. Twinkleshine begins talking about what makes up the “elements” that unicorns use for magic.
  109. >All you knew was that this thing in the air could be controlled and used with magic, letting you cast spells or use it to lift things.
  110. >What you didn't know was its properties to change into something else.
  111. >Taking fire for example.
  112. >The elements, when triggered by a spark, will become a flammable gas.
  113. >This is interesting to you because you had no idea about this change the elements went under.
  114.
  115. >The class goes by very quick, which doesn't surprise you, considering you found yourself taking notes.
  116. >Class was also longer by a few hours compared to kindergarten.
  117. >But it comes to an end when a bell rings, causing the class to quickly rush out the door, leaving just you, Twilight and Mrs. Twinkleshine.
  118. >”No matter how old they get they always rush out when that bell rings,” Twinkleshine talking to her self.
  119. >Directing her attention to you and Twilight, she walks closer with a packet of papers in her magical grasp.
  120. >”Normally we are supposed to wait until Friday, but I feel like doing something different! This is your test, most of it won't be taught in class so you will need to study after class. On Friday you will perform a spell of my choosing. While not required, it will help you pass.”
  121. >Twilight and you grab your test packets.
  122. “So, test then?”
  123. >”Yes, is that a problem?”
  124. “No I'm fine,” you begin putting the packet in your bag.
  125. >”But the test is supposed to be on Friday,” Twilight sounding disappointed.
  126. >”Yes yes it's been done like that for fifty years, a change of pace wont hurt.”
  127. >Twinkleshine can see Twilight is still disappointed.
  128. >You're unsure what she's really disappointed about.
  129. >”If you want, you can wait until Friday to start the test.”
  130. >”No that’s fine, I was planning on helping Anonymous.”
  131. >”Noone said you can't work on it together,” Twinkleshine winking at you.
  132. >Why is she winking at you.
  133. >Suddenly you feel uncomfortable, but you can tell Twilight feels better now.
  134. >”Now get out of here, I'll see you tomorrow,” Twinkleshine hurrying both of you out of her class room.
  135. >Walking out of the school, you fill Twilight in on what happened in the office.
  136.
  137. >”I'm so sorry that happened Anonymous-” you stop her.
  138. “It's alright, the guards she called ended up helping me, I overheard them say something about medicine. I'm not really sure, I will be fine as long as I don't have to deal with that pony again.”
  139. >Twilight seems rather down about the event but drops it.
  140. >Even thinking about it gets your blood boiling, but you move your thoughts to other subjects.
  141. >Such as magic!
  142. “So, got anything planned today? Want to get started on the test packet... thing?”
  143. >”Sure,” She smiles at you, “But I'm not doing it for you.”
  144. “Of course, wouldn't learn anything if you did,” you smile back at her as you near your place.
  145. >As you get ready to climb the stairs to your place, a Pegasus comes down looking rather winded.
  146. >”Are-” He coughs before speaking again, “Are either of you-” He looks at a mini clip board attached to his wing, “Anon Y mous?”
  147. >Laughing a bit at how he said your name you reply back.
  148. “That’s me, why?”
  149. >”Oh good! Cause I left a package in front of your door, can you sign here?”
  150. >Extending his wing, you scribble down your name quickly before he takes it back.
  151. >”Have a good day,” He nods before taking to the skies slowly.
  152. >”Who would send you a package?” Twilight tilting her head slightly as both of you begin walking up the stairs.
  153. “Not sure.”
  154. >Reaching your floor, you find a massive package sitting in front of your door.
  155. >It begins to make sense why the Pegasus just left it.
  156. >Walking up to it, you can see it's much bigger then Twilight.
  157. “Jeez.” you comment as you begin trying to find out who sent it.
  158. “Think he put it upside down...”
  159. >Opening your door, you let Twilight go in first before you begin playing “fit the bigger object through the little doorway” game.
  160. >Couple minutes of struggling, you get it inside.
  161. >”What did you order Anonymous?”
  162. >After catching your breath you reply.
  163. “Nothing, god this thing's heavy.” you groan
  164.
  165. >You begin searching for who sent it.
  166. >After scanning the box, you realize it's still upside-down.
  167. >Cursing a bit, you flip it over until you find a sticker that should say where it came from.
  168. >But it's blank.
  169. >After small sigh, you decide to just open it and find out what's so heavy.
  170. >The tape that was wrapped around the box only stopped you for a bit.
  171. >A thin shield layer acting like a very dull pocket knife or key proved useful.
  172. >Opening the flaps, you find it's full of clothes.
  173. >Your clothes to be exact.
  174. >Twilight picks up a shirt and quickly realizes that it fits you.
  175. >”Where did these come from?”
  176. “I think I know...” you reply back as you pull out more clothes until you reach a smaller cardboard box.
  177. >This box is much smaller and jingles as you set it aside.
  178. >As you continue to check the box, you find another box a bit bigger than your hand.
  179. >Moving the box, you can feel there's only one item inside.
  180. >”Hey this one has an envelope with your name on it,” Twilight pulling the envelope off the box that jingled.
  181. >She floats it over to you.
  182. >Opening it, you find a letter.
  183. >Opening the letter, you find it's addressed to you.
  184. >But that’s not what interests you, you want to know who it's from so you look at the bottom.
  185. “Love Mom and Dad,” it says.
  186. >”So this is a care-package? Kinda big for a care-package isn't it?”
  187. “Yeah, I don't really need all my clothes...” Taking the letter, you get conformable before you begin reading.
  188.
  189. >”Dear Anonymous, we know you said you didn't want any help, but this is the first time you have been gone for so long and we worry about you. Not knowing what the weather is like, seeing as the Pegasi are much better at weather control then us griffons, we hope you don't mind that we packed you some clothes.”
  190. “Some?” you look at the box again.
  191. >You think the only thing missing from the box is maybe the clothes you arrived in and stuff you ruined.
  192. >”We also sent some bits over. Don't get fussy about it, your father and I remember what you said, but we just want to make sure you are fed and clothed.”
  193. >Explains the jingling....
  194. >”You forgot your claw, you know how we feel about you going anywhere without it. We all miss you Anonymous, and hope to hear some good news soon. Love Mom and Dad.”
  195. “They didn't.” worry is very clear in your voice.
  196. >Twilight picked up on it as she watches you grab at the box and tear it open.
  197. >There it is, the claw your parents had made for you.
  198. >Panic begins to set in as you attempt to come up with ways to deflect the situation.
  199. >You know the Equestrian laws, bringing a weapon in from the outside kingdoms is a punishable offense unless you're part of the guard, even then you had to make a request for it.
  200. >”Anonymous, whats wrong? You don't look so good.” Your head snaps up to Twilight.
  201. “Uh, fine, just uh- parents sent me bits and I’m not too happy with it,” you slide the box with your claw to the side and grab at the other one, opening it up.
  202. >A small bag filled with coins falls out.
  203. >The look Twilight's giving you says she not buying it.
  204. >”You don't need to be embarrassed Anonymous.”
  205. >'I'm not embarrassed, I'm scared!' you think to yourself.
  206. >”I know griffons eat meat, and humans eat meat too, you wrote down your diet, remember? While us ponies are not a big fan of i,t there’s nothing wrong with you eating it.” She smiles trying to make you feel better.
  207.
  208.
  209. “Twilight, it's not meat.”
  210. >She cocks her head, confused.
  211. >You're not about to lie about it.
  212. >You have had enough lies blow up in the past.
  213. >Plus do you really want to lie to Celestia's student?
  214. “What's Equestria's law on weapons?”
  215. >”Uh, well, we had this old law where weapons from outside were not allowed, but that’s a very old law, much older then my parents!”
  216. >Had?!
  217. “Had?”
  218. >”Yes, Princess Celestia replaced it with a new one, weapons may not be shown in public unless you are part of the guard.” Twilight looks confused.
  219. “Really?”
  220. >”Yes, why?”
  221.
  222. >Grabbing the box, you hope this doesn't backfire.
  223. “My parents are very protective, when they saw I had no claws, no wings or sharp teeth, they grew scared of me just going outside.”
  224. >Pulling the glove out, you set it on top of the box.
  225. “So they took me to the closest blacksmith and had a this claw created so I have a way to defend myself.”
  226. >Twilight just looks confused as she inspects it.
  227. “The reason I ask is because the book I read on Equestrian law stated weapons brought in from the outside is a punishable offense.”
  228. >Twilight adopts a look of understanding.
  229. >”And you left it at home so you wouldn't get in trouble?”
  230. “Correct.”
  231. >”But why would you need something like this?”
  232. >She floats it up to get a closer look.
  233. >You can see it's been sharpened recently, each blade jutting out from the finger tips.
  234. >The entire thing itself looks ugly but you had to admit, your hand fit it perfectly without risk of injury.
  235. “When hunting, anything can happen, and thieves will do anything to get away. The claw itself has many uses aside from harming others.”
  236. >Twilight nods her head like she understands.
  237. >”I had no idea Griffons were so protective.”
  238.
  239.
  240. >laughing at the comment, you shake your head.
  241. “I got lucky when I arrived in this world. They are unlike most griffons, they are very caring.”
  242. >”I can tell,” She gestures to the boxes.
  243. >”But I do find it interesting that you consider them 'Mom and Dad'.”
  244. “Well, everything they have done for me, taking care of me and teaching me about this world, it just feels natural to call them Mom and Dad.”
  245. >Twilight nods in understanding as she begins floating various objects to your table.
  246. >While she's doing this, you grab the clothes and put them back in the box before pushing them to your room.
  247. >Coming back out, both of you begin studying the night away with small talk passed back and forth about your adventures over the weekend.
