When her boyfriend dumps her before their exotic vacation, a young woman persuades her ultra-cautious mother to travel with her to paradise, with unexpected results.
When her boyfriend dumps her, Emily, a spontaneous woman in her 30s, persuades her ultra-cautious mom to accompany her on a vacation to Ecuador. At Emily's insistence, the pair seek out adventure, but suddenly find themselves kidnapped. When these two very different women are trapped on this wild journey, their bond as mother and daughter is tested and strengthened while they attempt to navigate the jungle and escape.
Snatched starring Amy Schumer and Goldie Hawn is a movie that is funny (sometimes), but when it's not all that funny or when a joke falls flat the film has the dynamic duo of Hawn and Schumer to fall back on. They have really fun, electric chemistry when put on screen together. The movies script is overall pretty good, not great, not hilarious. It's pretty funny in places, and in one scene in particular, it's touching and very very sweet. I love movies like this. A parent-child or best friend trip gone haywire, complete with comedy and scenes of dramatic touching moments. Another one of my very favorite comedians besides Schumer is also in this movie. And that brilliant stand up comedian/actress is Wanda Sykes. She has a few somewhat funny lines, overall her character is there to provide a way for Schumer to do something, not much else. Although Sykes didn't have all that much to do in the film, it's always great to see a brilliant artist like her in any movie. Joan Cusack is also here, she literally says nothing throughout the whole movie lol, but that's because she apparently cut out her tongue years ago because she was in special ops and didn't want to risk giving away information. So she really wasn't given any material either, but I love Joan in general so it was nice to have her there. Overall this is a good time feel good film about a mother-daughter relationship in a crazy comedic adventure. 7/10 overall for Snatched.
Myself and my partner went to see this last night and both laughed and smiled many times throughout the film. Don't get why people hate Amy Schumer so much, she was very funny and acted well. Goldie Hawn was also good in her return role but the plastic surgery made it pretty difficult to look at her, wish women would quit with this hideous plastic surgery s@#t. If you want an enjoyable, lighthearted and fun movie that makes you happy then go see Snatched.
