「新たなゲートは東京都の西部山中、
檜原村にある神戸岩の上空約100メートルに出現し、
そこに存在し続けておる」
Dr. Yotsuya: A new Gate has appeared and continues to remain open in the mountains of the western Tokyo area, approximately 100 meters in the air above Kanoto Rock in Hinohara.

四ツ谷博士
「なお、ゲートから何かが現れた様子はなく…
現在、自衛隊が付近の封鎖を進めておる。
そして、我々に政府から出動要請が来た」
Dr. Yotsuya: As of yet, nothing has emerged from the Gate. The JSDF are sealing off the area now. And lastly, the government has requested that we mobilize our forces and make our way there.

ミサト
「これまで確認された時空跳躍ゲートは三種類あります。
まずは、突発的に出現し、すぐに消失するゲート」
Misato: There are three types of space-time leap Gates which have been confirmed thus far. First are the Gates that appear and disappear almost immediately.

ミサト
「次はディーダリオンによって開かれるゲート。
そして、今回のように安定したゲートがありますが、
いずれも最終的には消失しています」
Misato: Next are the Gates that Didarion opens. And finally, there are Gates like the one we’re dealing with now which are stable. However, all Gates ultimately disappear at some point.

ムウ
「質問。神戸岩ってのは?」
Mu: Question. What’s Kanoto Rock?

四ツ谷博士
「神の通り道という伝承がある岩だ」
Yotsuya: A gorge that, according to legends, serves as a pathway to the gods.

メグ
(さっき、マイコが言ってた
パワースポットの類いね…)
Meg: (That sounds like the kind of Power Spot Maiko was talking about before...)

マオ
「神はともかく、通り道ってのが気になるわね」
Mao: Gods aside, the pathway part has me thinking.

ロックオン
「偶然じゃないのか?」
Lockon: Isn’t it just a coincidence?

マオ
「もしかしたら、安定ゲートの出現位置は
パワースポットと関係があったりして」
Mao: I’m just wondering if the appearance of stable Gates has something to do with the locations of Power Spots.

リツコ
「霊山である富士山の近くに出現したゲートは
それに当てはまるかも知れませんが…
全てに共通しているわけではありません」
Ritsuko: The Gate that appeared near Mt. Fuji, a sacred mountain, would fit that qualification... But it’s not the same for all of them.

ミサト
(でも、第3新東京市にもゲートは現れたし…
あそこもある意味パワースポットよね。
地下にあれがあるんだもの)
Ritsuko: (Although, Gates have appeared in [Tokyo-3]... That could be considered a Power Spot as well, due to what lies underground.)

ミナト
「では、ゲートはパワースポットの上に
開かれる傾向があると考えるのはどうでしょう?」
Minato: Then could it be that the Gates have a higher likelihood of appearing over a Power Spot?

リツコ
「…それは今後のデータ次第です」
Ritsuko: ...Determining that depends on the data the future brings us.

ロックオン
「即否定しなかったな。
単なる偶然じゃ片付けられないってことか」
Lockon: Well you didn’t deny it outright. So that means not necessarily just sheer coincidence.

マオ
「でしょ。適当に言ったわけじゃないんだから」
Mao: Of course. It’s not like I said that without giving it any thought.

ミサト
「…ディド、何かわかることはある?」
Misato: ...Dido, do you know anything about this?

ディド
「さっき、ゲート出現の気配のようなものを感じた。
だが、それだけだ」
Dido: I felt a sign that a Gate had appeared a while ago. But that’s about it.

ミサト
「そう…」
Misato: I see...

万丈
「ともかく、神戸岩へ行ってみるしかないようだね。
どこの世界への扉なのか知るためにも」
Banjo: Then all we can do is go to Kanoto Rock ourselves. We can figure out which world the portal leads to once we’re there.

ミサト
「ええ。
現地へ到着次第、無人偵察機を
ゲートに送り込むつもりです」
Misato: Right. We’ll send in a recon drone as soon as we arrive.

ビスケット
(今度こそ僕達の世界につながってるといいけど…)
Biscuit: (Hopefully it’s connected to our world this time...)

(Benkei connects a line to the room.)

弁慶
「みんな、聞いてくれ。緊急事態だ」
Benkei: Listen up, everyone. We’ve got an emergency.

弁慶
「ゲートの中から機動兵器群が現れ、
自衛隊を攻撃したらしい。日本政府は
我々に対し、緊急出動を要請してきた」
Benkei: A group of mobile weapons appeared from the Gate and attacked the JSDF. The Japanese government is ordering us to dispatch at once.

ミサト
「少佐、機動兵器群は既知の物ですか?」
Misato: Are they mobile weapons we’ve seen before, Major?

弁慶
「それはまだわからんが、
自衛隊側に損害が出ているそうだ。
各員はすぐ配置に付いてくれ」
Benkei: That remains to be seen, but the JSDF side has already taken losses. All personnel are to assume their positions immediately.

アムロ
「了解。みんな、急ごう」
Amuro: Roger. Let’s hurry, everyone.

メグ
「はい!」
Meg: Right!

『コンバット・パトロール』
Episode 33
Combat Patrol


(Scene starts on a map of a forest with some mountains on the sides. Londo Bell appears.)

トーレス
「艦長、目的地に到着しました。
なお、自衛隊の部隊は撤退済みです」
Torres: Captain, we’ve arrived at our destination. Furthermore, the JSDF forces have withdrawn.

ブライト
「機動兵器群の反応は?」
Bright: Are there any mobile weapon readings around?

トーレス
「ありません」
Torres: None.

弁慶
「既にここから離脱したのか…?」
Benkei: Did they already leave the area...?

ブライト
「自衛隊に改めて問い合わせてみろ。
何か情報が…」
Bright: Check with the JSDF again. They must know something about—

トーレス
「高熱源体接近!
0時方向より蛇行!」
Torres: High enemy heat sources approaching! Dead ahead! They’re using a serpentine pattern!

ブライト
「識別を急げ! 各機は直ちに出撃!」
Bright: Confirm their identity quickly! All units, launch immediately!

(The player’s team and Sousuke deploy.)

トノムラ
「識別終了!
[AS]です!」
Tonomura: Identification complete! They’re [AS]’s!

マリュー
「じゃあ、あのゲートの先にあるのは!」
Murrue: Then that Gate must lead...!

キラ
(僕らの世界なのか…?)
Kira: (To our world...?)

(Gauron and enemy ASs appear.)

ガウルン
「まさか、ここで奴らに会えるとはな」
Gauron: Didn’t expect to see those guys here.

クルツ
「姐さん、あいつは!」
Kurz: Ma’am, it’s him!

マオ
「銀色のAS…!」
Mao: The silver AS...!

宗介
「ガウルンか…!」
Sousuke: Gauron...!

ロックオン
「あの機体のパイロットと顔見知りか?」
Lockon: You guys know that machine’s pilot?

マオ
「ええ、質の悪いテロリストよ。
あいつが真っ先にゲートを通り抜けて来るなんて…
いったい、どういうこと?」
Mao: Yeah, he’s bad even by terrorist standards. I can’t believe HE’S the first one to come through the Gate... What the hell is going on here?

ガウルン
「つまらん仕事だと思っていたが
引き受けて良かったぜ。
カシム、お前と会えたんだからよ」
Gauron: I thought this would be a boring job, but now I’m glad I took it. Good to see ya, Kashim.

宗介
「どんな仕事だ? 誰に頼まれた?」
Sousuke: What do you mean “job”? Who hired you?

ガウルン
「知りたきゃ、俺を倒してみな。
拷問の一つや二つもされたら、
思わずゲロっちまうかもしれんぜ、ハハハ」
Gauron: If you wanna find out, then you’re gonna have to take me down. Who knows, with a couple rounds of torturing I might actually confess. Hahaha!

万丈
「確かに、質が悪いな」
Banjo: I can see what you meant about him being bad by terrorist standards.

クルツ
「その上、凄腕だ。おまけにあのASには
[ラムダ・ドライバ]が搭載されてる」
Kurz: He’s an expert on top of that. Even worse, his AS is outfitted with a [Lambda Driver].

伊奈帆
「ラムダ・ドライバ?」
Inaho: Lambda Driver?

リナリア
「解説。搭乗者の精神を斥力場に変換する装置。
不可視の力場を発生させ、攻撃や防御に転用可」
Rinalia: Explanation. Device that converts the pilot’s will into a repulsion force field. Generates an invisible force field that can be used for attack and defense.

韻子
「えっ、どういうこと?」
Inko: Uh... So what does that mean?

伊奈帆
「つまり、見えない攻撃やバリアを使うということか」
Inaho: In other words, it can be used to form an invisible barrier and make invisible attacks.

宗介
「肯定だ」
Sousuke: Affirmative.

シンジ
「見えない攻撃なんて、
どうやってかわせばいいんだ…?」
Shinji: How are we supposed to handle an attack we can’t even see...?

アスカ
「あんた、バカ?
エヴァならA.T.フィールドで
防げばいいでしょ!」
Asuka: Are you stupid? We can just use our EVA’s A.T. Fields to defend against it!

シンジ
「でも、当てずっぽうに展開したって…」
Shinji: But, that’s just guesswork...

ガウルン
「さて、手始めにこいつを見せてやるぜ」
Gauron: I think I’ll start by showing off a little.

(Gauron attacks Sousuke with his Lambda Driver.)

宗介
「 ちっ…!」
Sousuke: Tch...!

韻子
「な、何!?」
Inko: Wh-What was that!?

伊奈帆
「あれがラムダ・ドライバの攻撃か」
Inaho: That was the Lambda Driver’s attack.

ユキ
「本当に見えなかった…!」
Yuki: We really couldn’t see it...!

ヒイロ
「今のは牽制だな」
Heero: He was holding back.

キリコ
「ああ。こちらに損害を与えるつもりなら、
初手で母艦を攻撃していたはずだ」
Chirico: Right. If he was serious, he would have attacked one of the battleships first.

デューク
「だとしたら、あの男の目的は…?」
Duke: Then just what is he after...?

三日月
「そんなのどうでもいいでしょ。
やることは一つなんだから」
Mikazuki: It doesn’t matter. There’s just one thing we have to do.

豹馬
「ああ! 何を積んでいようが、俺達の世界に
ちょっかいを出すつもりなら、容赦はしねえぜ!」
Hyoma: Yeah! I don’t care what equipment he has, if he wants to mess with our world, then we’re gonna put a stop to him!

ガウルン
(俺達の世界、ね。なるほど)
Gauron: (“Our world”, huh. Thought so.)

(Battle 1 begins.)

(This exchange triggers if Sousuke battles Gauron.)

宗介
「ガウルン…!
さっさと貴様を捕まえて、ここに来た理由を
洗いざらい吐かせてやる!」
Sousuke: Gauron...! I’ll capture you and make you tell us everything about what you’re doing here!

ガウルン
「そう来なくっちゃな。
久しぶりに殺し合おうぜ、カシム!」
Gauron: That’s the spirit. It’s been too long since we tried to kill each other, Kashim!

(Battle 1 ends when Gauron’s HP is 40% or lower.)

ガウルン
「ほう、思ってたよりやるじゃないか」
Gauron: Hey now, you’re a little better than I remembered.

宗介
「ここに来た目的を吐いてもらうぞ」
Sousuke: You WILL tell us why you’re here.

ガウルン
「まあ、そう焦るなよ。
せっかちは愛しのカナメちゃんに嫌われるぜ?」
Gauron: C’mon, don’t be impatient now. Your darling little Kaname would hate it if you were too pushy, yeah?

宗介
「貴樣…!」
Sousuke: Bastard...!

トーレス
「新たな高熱源体が接近!
6時方向より真っ直ぐ! 数は6!」
Torres: More high energy heat sources approaching from 6 o’clock! 6 units confirmed!

ミサト
「ゲートとは真逆の方向…!」
Misato: They’re coming from the opposite direction of the Gate...!

トーレス
「識別終了!
ASです!」
Torres: Identification complete! They’re ASs!

(More enemy AS appear.)

キョウ
「まだいたのかよ!」
Kyo: There’s still more!?

ガウルン
「斥候を呼び戻したのさ。
さあ、第2ラウンド開始だぜ!」
Gauron: I just figured I’d call my scouts back. Now, let’s kick off round 2!


(Scene ends.)

(Next scene picks up where it left off.)


ガウルン
「仕事の半分は終わったようなもんだ。
後はお楽しみの時間だぜ」
Gauron: My work’s already halfway done. Time to have some fun for the rest of it.

健一
「あいつ、また見えない攻撃を!」
Kenichi: He’s going to use that invisible attack again!

クルツ
「おい、ソースケ!
お前もラムダ・ドライバで対抗できねえのか!
この間は使えただろ!」
Kurz: Hey, Sousuke! You should be able to counter his Lambda Driver with yours! Like you used it the other day!

宗介
「駄目だ。
試してはいるが、うまく発動しない。
今はあてにするな」
Sousuke: I can’t. I’ve been trying, but it won’t activate. Don’t count on it now.

龍馬
「見えない攻撃だろうが何だろうが、
当たらなきゃどうってことはねえ!」
Ryoma: It won’t matter if the attack is invisible or not if it never hits you!

チャム
「当たっちゃったら、どうすんの!?」
Cham: But what do we do if it does!?

童馬
「耐えるんだよ!」
Ryoma: Take it like a champ!

チャム
「そんなぁ! ゲッターと違って、
[オーラ・バトラー]は頑丈じゃないのよ!」
Cham: No freaking way! [Aura Battlers] aren’t half as sturdy as Getters!

アムロ
「防御力が低い機体は下がれ。
耐久力がある機体は前に出て、壁を作るんだ」
Amuro: The machines with less defensive capabilities should back off. The ones with better durability should move up and form a wall.

アムロ
「奴はそこから抜け出そうとするはず。
それを狙い撃ち出来たら、ベストだ」
Amuro: He should try to get around it after that. That’ll be our best chance to shoot him down.

アスカ
「[一年戦争]の英雄様が何を言い出すかと思ったら…
結局は力押しってわけ?」
Asuka: I was wondering what the Hero of the [One Year War] would come up with... So all you’ve got is brute force, huh?

甲児
「ヘッ、俺はその方が性に合ってらあ!」
Koji: Heh, that’s just the way I like it!

アスカ
「私やあんたの機体は
それでいいかも知れないけど…!」
Asuka: That may be fine for our machines, but...!

伊奈帆
「アムロ大尉の指示は的確だ。
あの敵は、割とすぐに撤退すると思うから」
Inaho: Captain Amuro gave the appropriate instructions. I believe that enemy will retreat shortly.

韻子
「どうして?」
Inko: What makes you say that?

伊奈帆
「ゲートの先がどういう状況かわからないまま
攻め込むのはリスクが高い。にも関わらず、
戦力が少な過ぎる」
Inaho: Conducting an attack beyond the Gate without knowing what the other side is like would be incredibly risky for them. In spite of this, they went through with relatively few forces.

伊奈帆
「だから、あの男の目的は偵察…そして、それを
無人機で行わなかったのは、彼の雇い主が
精度の高い情報を必要としているからだと思う」
Inaho: Which would mean that man’s objective was reconnaissance. And since he is carrying it out himself, his employer must need the most accurate data possible.

カミーユ
「無人機だと、臨機応変な対応が出来ないからか」
Kamille: That’s true, drones wouldn’t be able to adapt as well.

シズノ
「捕獲されたら、そこで終わりだものね」
Shizuno: And if they’re caught, then you’ve gained nothing.

伊奈帆
「無人偵察機を送り込めない事情があるのかも
知れないけど。あと、あの男は機体の整備や補給に
必要な物を持っていないように見える」
Inaho: There may be other reasons why they can’t send in drones however. Also, that man doesn’t appear to have the appropriate equipment for repairs and resupply to maintain his machine.

伊奈帆
「多分、何らかの理由によって、
ごく短時間でゲートの先の状況を調べて、
帰還しろと言われてるんだ」
Inaho: It’s possible that, for whatever reason, he has been told to only briefly investigate beyond the Gate and then return quickly.

伊奈帆
「そして、自衛隊や僕らとの接触によって、
目的の半分は達成されたはず。だから、力押しで
時間を稼げば、あいつは撤退すると思う」
Inaho: So after making contact with the JSDF and ourselves, his mission should be halfway to completion. Therefore if we apply pressure on him, I believe he will withdraw.

アムロ
(…優れた観察眼と鋭い読みだ)
Amuro: (...He’s got excellent observation skills and a keen judgment.)

アスカ
「ご高説はもっともだけど、
あいつが任務を放棄する可能性があるわよ。
ああいう奴なんだから」
Asuka: I get why you’d think that, but there’s still a chance he could just abandon his mission, you know. I mean, have you seen the guy?

伊奈帆
「その時は持久戦に持ち込むしかない」
Inaho: If that happens, then this will turn into a war of attrition.

アスカ
「結局、力押しじゃないの!」
Asuka: So then we’re right back to just using brute force!

三日月
「文句があるなら、下がれば?」
Mikazuki: If you’re gonna complain, why don’t you just sit this one out?

アスカ
「誰が! やってやるわよ!」
Asuka: Oh hell no! I’m doing this!

ミサト
(あの子、アスカを乗せるのが上手いわね。
意図してやってるわけじゃないでしょうけど)
Misato: (That boy’s pretty good at getting Asuka to go along with things. Although it’s probably not intentional.)

ガウルン
「さあ、楽しもうぜ!! カシムゥ!」
Gauron: Now, let’s have some fun!! Kashim!

宗介
「ラムダ・ドライバが使えなくても、
貴様を倒す…!」
Sousuke: I’ll defeat you, even without using the Lambda Driver...!

(Battle 2 begins.)

(Battle 2 ends when Gauron is defeated.)

ガウルン
「煽った甲斐があったな。なかなか楽しかったぜ」
Gauron: That was worth riling you guys up. This was a damn good time.

宗介
「貴樣…!」
Sousuke: Bastard...!

ガウルン
「向こうで待ってるぜ、カシム」
Gauron: I’ll be waiting for you on the other side, Kashim.

(Gauron leaves the map.)

宗介
「逃がさんぞ、ガウルン!」
Sousuke: You won’t get away, Gauron!

マオ
「待ちな。
ゲートの向こう側で敵が待ち構えてたら、
袋叩きにされるよ」
Mao: Hold it. If the enemy’s waiting on the other side of the Gate, then you’re just gonna get ganged up on.

宗介
「…!」
Sousuke: ...!

クルツ
「ガウルンが相手だと
熱くなり過ぎなんだよ、お前は」
Kurz: You get way too emotional when Gauron’s the opponent, Sousuke.

宗介
「すまない…」
Sousuke: I apologize...

トーレス
「艦長、敵機はゲートへ突入しました」
Torres: Captain, the enemy unit has entered the Gate.

ブライト
「全艦は警戒態勢を取りつつ、待機だ」
Bright: All units, remain on alert status and standby.

デューク
「…伊奈帆、君の読みが当たったな」
Duke: ...You read him like a book, Inaho.

伊奈帆
「でも、あの子の指摘通り、
あいつが居直るというリスクはありました」
Inaho: But as that girl pointed out, there was a possible risk of him going on the offensive.

アスカ
「式波・アスカ・ラングレーよ。覚えときなさい」
Asuka: My name’s Asuka Langley Shikinami. Remember it.

伊奈帆
「わかった。僕は界塚伊奈帆」
Inaho: Understood. I’m Inaho Kaizuka.

アスカ
「ま、バカシンジより賢いってことだけは
認めてあげてもいいわ」
Asuka: Well, I’ll at least admit that you’re smarter than stupid Shinji.

シンジ
「な、何で僕を引き合いに出すんだよ…」
Shinji: Wh-Why did you bring me into this...?

クルツ
「やれやれ、どっかの誰かと同じで
素直じゃないねえ」
Kurz: Sheesh, she’s about as honest with her feelings as a certain someone we know.

マオ
「それよか…よりにもよって
あのガウルンに並行世界の偵察を依頼したのは、
どこのどいつなのかしらね」
Mao: More importantly... Who was it that would hire Gauron of all people to scout out a parallel world?

クルツ
「さあね」
Kurz: Who knows?

マオ
(もしかして、
あたし達がこっちにいることを知っていて…?)
Mao: (Could they have know that we were here...?)

マオ
(いや、そんなことはあり得ないか)
Mao: (No, that would be impossible.)

Dr. Hell: ...This may be a blessing in disguise.

「仰せの通りでございます、Dr.ヘル」
Baron Ashura: It is as you say, Dr. Hell.

Dr.ヘル
「このバードス島上空にあの光球…
並行世界へ繋がるゲートとでも呼ぶべき物が
出現した理由、それは…」
Dr. Hell: The light sphere over Bados Island... The reason for the Gate’s appearance...

あしゅら男爵
「我らに時空跳躍の術を手に入れよという
天の思し召しでありましょう」
Baron Ashura: It is the will of heaven that we would obtain the means to perform space-time leaps.

Dr.ヘル
「天などという不確かな物ではなかろう。
ワシは、ゲートを生み出す存在の意思だと見ておる」
Dr. Hell: It is not the result of some uncertain thing such as the heavens. Rather, I suspect this is the will of the entity that creates the Gates.

あしゅら男爵
「それはどのような…?」
Baron Ashura: But for what purpose...?

Dr.ヘル
「おそらく、数多の世界へ
災いと諍いをもたらすつもりなのだろう」
Dr. Hell: Most likely, to bring about a multitude of calamities and wars to the worlds.

Dr.ヘル
「だが、ワシはその力を利用し、
ゲートで繋がれる全ての世界を掌中に収めようぞ」
Dr. Hell: However, I shall use my power to seize control of all worlds connected through the Gates.

あしゅら男爵
「おお…!」
Baron Ashura: Oooh...!

Dr.ヘル
「あしゅらよ、直ちにゲートへ機械獣を送り込め!
ゲートと並行世界のデータを集めるのだ!」
Dr. Hell: Ashura, send the Mechanical Beasts into the Gate at once! Gather data on the Gate and the parallel worlds!

あしゅら男爵
「ははっ!」
Baron Ashura: Yes, my master!

「ゲートは安定しているが、いつ消えるかわからん。
だから、早急に今後の行動について皆と相談したい」
Bright: The Gate is stable, but we don’t know when it will disappear. So I’d like to discuss what actions everyone intends to take now, while we have the chance.

オルガ
「相談も何も、やることは決まってんだろうが」
Orga: There’s nothing for us to discuss. You know what we’re going to do.

ブライト
「まあな」
Bright: Even so.

オルガ
「俺は行くぜ。
向こう側に俺達の世界へ繋がるゲートが
あるかも知れねえからな」
Orga: We’re going. There could be a Gate to our world on the other side of this one.

シマ
「我々も自分達の目的を果たすために同行します」
Shima: We have our own duty to fulfill, so we will be coming along as well.

マリュー
「私達は言うまでもありません」
Murrue: It goes without saying for our group.

ブライト
「万丈、君達は?」
Bright: What about your group, Banjo?

万丈
「無論、一緒に行きますよ」
Banjo: Naturally, we’ll be accompanying you.

ブライト
「では、各艦は直ちに出立の準備に取りかかってくれ。
葛城二佐、ゲート突入の作戦立案を頼む」
Bright: Then, I’d like all ships to prepare for departure immediately. Lieutenant Colonel Katsuragi, I’ll leave devising a plan for infiltrating the Gate up to you.

「了解です」
Misato: Roger.

Hyoma: So what’s this about wanting to talk to us Super Robot Army members, pops?

「先程、ブライト大佐から報告があった。
彼らは神戸岩上空のゲートへ突入するそうだな」
Dr. Yotsuya: I received a report from Captain Bright not too long ago. It seems they plan to enter the Gate over Kanoto Rock.

大作
「そりゃ当然ばい」
Daisaku: That makes sense.

ちずる
「これでみんなとはお別れになるのかしら…」
Chizuru: I guess this is where we say goodbye to everyone...

弓教授
「いや、バトルチームと鉄也君は
ブライト大佐達に同行してもらいたい」
Prof. Yumi: Actually, I would like the Battle Team and Tetsuya to accompany Captain Bright and the others.

豹馬
「!」
Hyoma: !

「ちょい待ち!
何でまたワイらが余所の世界へ行かなあかんのや!
戻れる保証はあるんかいな!?」
