  1. Oculus Perifico Industries
  2. OP Industries is a relative newcomer in comparison to some of the other enormous corporations, but their strength lies in their inventiveness and willingness to indulge in risk-taking. A small operation, they nevertheless attract plenty of oddball designers and engineers whose egos are stroked by the chance to indulge their fantasies that might have long been suppressed by the need for steady employment. Licensing fees keep the small company afloat while their "unique" products pop up hither and yon like some squadron's tech sergeant's twisted dreams.
  3.
  4. OPI Silent LAM
  5. The OPI Silent Land-Air Mech is a highly experimental toy, designed to indulge the flights of fancy of three of its engineers. A small mech by most accounts, it possesses a unique component that, when activated, causes the machinery to shift and transform until the Silent LAM takes off as an aerospace fighter. Trial runs of the completed mech resulted in several instances where pilots jammed the transformation sequence midway, giving the engineers still more ideas, resulting in a bastardized hybrid mode, much to their amusement.

  25. | Mode Transformation |
  26. | The brainchild of two eccentric engineers, the Mode |
  27. | Transformation system lets the Silent LAM shift |
  28. | between its normal mech structure, an aerospace- |
  29. | capable craft mode, and a hybrid mode that attempts |
  30. | to combine the better aspects of the two. |
  31. | |
  32. | Passive: Transformer - At the start of each of your |
  33. | turns, you decide whether you are in mech or plane |
  34. | mode. In mech mode, you have access to your Main mount|
  35. | and your Flexible mount, but lose access to the two |
  36. | Auxiliary mounts. In plane mode, you lose access to |
  37. | the Main mount and Flexible mount, but gain access to |
  38. | the two Auxiliary Mounts. Plane mode also has the |
  39. | following features: |
  40. | - your Armor becomes 0 |
  41. | - whenever you move or boost, your mech gains |
  42. | Flight (perfect) |
  43. | - your mech's base evasion becomes 11 instead of 8 |
  44. | - you lose 5 HP from both current and maximum HP |
  45. | values. If this would make your current HP come to |
  46. | 0 or less, you cannot activate plane mode |

  50. | For the rest of this combat, you gain the Gerwalk mode|

  52. | your mech in a hybrid mode with a smaller profile than|
  53. | the base mech design but with arms and legs unlike the|
  54. | plane mode's design. In this mode, your mech uses the |
  55. | base mech stats but gains the following features: |
  56. | - whenever you move or boost, your mech gains |
  57. | Flight (perfect) |
  58. | - your mech's base evasion becomes 9 instead of 8 |
  59. | - you gain access to all four weapon mount slots |
  60. | - you lose 3 HP from both current and maximum HP |
  61. | values. If this would make your current HP come to |
  62. | 0 or less, you cannot activate Gerwalk mode |

  64.
  65. GBH-3 Buster Bomb
  66. Heavy explosive ordnance, the GBH-3 Buster Bomb is a classic guided munition with a shaped charge, designed to penetrate and then detonate, unleashing its fire and fury on the soft innards of its target. Reliable and easy to produce, the GBH-3 is one of OPI's most commonly licensed bits of equipment.
  67.
  68. 2 SP
  69. Limited (4)
  70. Thrown 5, Blast (1)
  71. 2d6 explosive damage
  72. Targets caught in the blast must pass an agility check or be knocked prone.
  73.
  74.
  75. Reinforced Rails
  76. The need for more than a couple of popguns quickly made itself known to OPI's engineers. In plane mode, these underslung rails provide hardpoints to attach deployable weapons or other devices.
  77.
  78. 1 SP
  79. You may attach up to 4 deployable items to the Reinforced Rails. Weapons with the Plant keyword are armed as soon as you release them, and require an attack roll from you as though you're firing a normal weapon (instead of the target needing to make an agility roll). A hit indicates the deployable does its indicated damage as though the target had failed its roll. Other deployable items with the Plant keyword may be planted by targeting the ground (it has evasion 1). Deployable items with the Thrown keyword have their Thrown distance doubled.
  80.
  81.
  82. Dart 441 Rocket Launcher
  83. Developed in tandem with the EM-1 Temperance Laser system, the Dart 441 is a slow-cycling launcher that delivers a payload large distances. The payload is usually a submunition system, unleashing dozens of smaller explosives that rain on the target. Armor penetration is poor, but unprotected hulls suffer intensely.
  84.
  85. Auxiliary Launcher
  86. Range 15
  87. 1d3+1 explosive damage
  88.
  89.
  90. EM-1 Temperance Laser
  91. Originally a target designator laser for the Dart 441 launcher, the EM-1 saw upgrades that included a more intense power source and better lensing. The result is a powerful laser that boils through armor so fast the impact site flash-explodes, jarring the target's stability.
  92.
  93. Main Rifle
  94. AP, Range 15
  95. 1d6 energy damage + 1 heat
  96. On a critical hit, this weapon also inflicts 1d3 extra kinetic damage
  97.
  98.
  99. Fire Concentrator Module
  100. Realizing that the Silent LAM seemed undergunned, the men and women behind its debut put their heads together and came up with a neat trick: by synchronizing the flight computers in each warhead, they could compound the effects of a volley, giving the Silent LAM a greater punch than its otherwise modest armament suite might suggest.
  101.
  102. 4 SP
  103. Protocol
  104. 1 heat (self)
  105. Until the start of your next turn, all of your attacks from weapons in mounts deal 2 extra damage
  106.
  107.
  108. AN/AWG-21 AI
  109. An experimental AI system (what else would OPI produce?), the AN/AWG-21 enhances the mech's sensor capabilities to an astounding degree, making it a formidable fighter against airborne threats.
  110.
  111. 3 SP
  112. AI, Unique
  113. Your mech gains the AI quality and the AN/AWG-21 Protocol
  114.
  115. AN/AWG-21 Protocol
  116. Protocol
  117. 2 Heat (self)
  118. Until the end of your next turn, attacks you make with Launcher weapons are at +1 Accuracy, and all attempts you make to Lock On to other flying targets are made at +1 Accuracy. Any flying target you have locked onto suffers +1 Difficulty on rolls to stay airborne if you hit them with a weapon while this protocol is active. In addition, until the end of your next turn, you may fire your Auxiliary Launcher weapons twice as part of the same action.
