- [22:22] Romani cos Montclaire says, "Alright."
- [22:22] Romani cos Montclaire says, "We should review."
- [22:22] Pericles Vitalis says, "Truly a eye opening experience."
- [22:23] An inhale.
- "Theria is deciding to march with Myllenoris. We do not know Illburg's stance, but based on how that is went, I imagine most of the diplomacy in the alliance was done by Myllenoris. I would not be surprised if Illburg supported them as well."
- "Which would mean a war from all sides on Orsona, or at least from two sides."
- (Romani cos Montclaire)
- [22:26] The meeting room was one that was slowly becoming his most visited room as of late, his gaze running along the chairs as he made his way over towards the one designated for the Stellus.
- "Myllenoris, Alabastre and now Theria are all going to be waging war against Osrona."
- Settlements ticked off as an index-finger drummed into the chairs armrest. It wasn't looking like a beautiful future at all, a sigh sounding out from his lips as be leaned backwards.
- His mind a whirl.
- "From all sides, when the Starfall Tower most likely is taken over by their push, it'll meant the southern side of Osrona is opened up too."
- Worrying, a frown overtook his visage as he looked between the pair that were in the room with him.
- "Indeed, they abstained from the previous push of Osrona's, and also didn't aid us in our recent defence against the dragon. They were in the perfect position to offer whispers to Theria."
- (Pericles Vitalis)
- [22:31] Politics. It was the worst way the trip could've ended- Alongside them all dying horribly. It and politics sat together holding hands.
- Once in the Church, Del settled into the chair, arm propped onto the armrest and the side of their face cupped with a small hand.
- They also inhale.
- "While it consists of a third of power within Osrona- It's its own entity. While we're claimed to conquer, alongside the King.. the Church does not need to assist with it..."
- "Whatever is happening as of now..."
- Conflicts that tore them away from others. How many weeks has it been now?
- "I'm still for acting for defense. Our arms shouldn't be drawn against... Those the Order as a whole aggress. Though, with that said, there are many that Osrona makes its enemy..."
- "This my first time hearing of conquest. I want no part in bringing suffering to others. I'll act indefense..."
- (Del mer Joyau)
- [22:36] Romani's eyes squint closed.
- "It is terrible, almost. All this time, I have want to bring peace to people." His mouth cracked into a smile, one of sorrow. "And at long last, most of the other regions in Esshar seem to be in peace with only an enemy in Orsona. It is ironic."
- A sigh would breathe past his lips.
- "If Starfall tower falls, they will likely push directly into Orsona, and take lives. I am no fan of military installations. But if they do arrive at our gates, that means life will be lost."
- "I am no fan of protecting military installations. But do we ultimately risk it, and risk them being able to lay an attack directly on Orsona? IF it was just Myllenoris, I think it would be fine, but if it is all nations against Orsona, that army would most definitely overwhelm our walls." An exhale breathes past his lips.
- (Romani cos Montclaire)
- [22:48] Pericles sighed, fatigue seemingly seeping into his very body from the drawn out breath as he looked down into his lap, how he wished the cosmic-codex that his father had given him was with him.
- But alas, it was passed along to Alice when she spoke about marching to war.
- "Perhaps we have been passive for too long. We aren't conquoerres, we're like I said. The spirit of Osrona, the innocents are those that we have sworn to protect, to guide."
- "But if we remain passive within the walls of Osrona, waiting for the enemy to come to us..."
- Plenty of thought had slowly been given. And now that even more settlements had declared intentions of trying to take a piece out of the Kingdom of Osrona.
- It brought out options that they would have to think on properly.
- "If we push them back at Starfall Tower. It will show even against all odds, we are strong, we are resolute to protect those within Osrona's domain."
- "But, it will also drag us deeper into the war. The church is an organization within Osrona that few truly do not understand the martial prowess which we hold."
- His own view. The magi within their ranks were extremely powerful compared to the average walking around Osrona. Their faith only further fuelling their confidence when they truly acted.
- "If the Faith moves to defend Starfall Tower, it will send a message. And, it will maybe allow for talks to begin anew, especially if we push back all opposition."
- "The table will be available again, where peace can be spoken of. A show of strength that gives people a moment of pause, a moment where they return to their lands to think about options."
- Pericles words came to a slow end, his soft tone voice never rising above his usual tone as he finished off.
- "Right now they only see one conclusion, victory, Osrona defeated."
- (Pericles Vitalis)
- [22:50] Peace.
- On a few occasions they've been told the world would be a better place if others were like them. Yet the Lightbringer did not want the Church to idle when there's an entire army at her fingertips.
- "You're right."
- Del agreed. To stop further loss, the Church should intercept now. While they hated the idea of bringing arms to men and over issues that could be settled without the usage of armies.
- It's the reality that exists, the current one. This version of an endless, ever spiraling circle.
- "Unfortunately, it may be what's necessary... Even if just providing aid there and defending who we can... I hate for the Church to be a part of this... The Stars are not threatened, nor are the faithful... Yet lives will be lost at the result of a loss..."
- "Countless..."
- A dainty digit tapped at the side of their cheek as Pericles spoke.
- A beautiful message sent out to those who turn blades to Osrona. An announcement should be made, and quickly.
- (Del mer Joyau)
- [22:55] Romani would give a slight nod.
- "I do not like to think us as passive. Our actions often have impacts, large impacts. Our presence during the bridge battle, working to eliminate Duana from within Theria, which ended the war. But equally so, we must not abandon our goals."
- "We ultimately want peace. And we must make that seen. We can even the odds at the Starfall tower, we can show we are strong and resolute. But I do not think that, by itself, is enough."
- Romani would stand up.
- "If Myllenoris, Theria, and Alabaste all work against Orsona, first, we need to push them back from the tower, and not wait for the fight to be brought to the gates. But more then that, we need to prevent further fighting without conquering."
- A glance is made towards the Stellus. "We should make a proclamation. The church will, first, be defending Starfall. After, if we succeed, we will hold a summit inside, inviting ALL leaders of nations. Not leaving some out like what happened with Illbrug, Myllesoris, and Orsona."
- "If there is no force that is for the peace of all nations, we need to create that force. We have the strength. We should not ask for it. At this point, we need to demand it."
- "And we need to get that in writing."
- "First, I think we need to approach the King, have our words written down. If we succeed in pushing back the outside forces, he will agree to be part of the Summit. Simple as that. If he is unwilling to work for peace, we are unwilling to protect their installation."
- (Romani cos Montclaire)
- [23:03] There was a slight sigh after all this was what Inante had said from the first, He could already see that reality that faced them and remaining passive inside the walls would only sew discord between the Trimutive.
- "I agree, Well I've said from the first that we should defend the tower. I already could tell that it was a point of interest and not doing so would put a heavy burden on us regardless. There's also another thing I'd like to discuss since we're meeting here like this."
- He'd adjust his weight as he shifted in his seat placing one leg atop the other.
- "I think its worth also considering Excommunicating Regulus from the Celestial Church as an addition to what hes doing. He is actively siding with people who are working to destroy our kingdom.
- Doing so will also send a clear message that we side with the King at the very least in terms of stance against our enemies. ITs worth at the very least considering regardless without Osrona there will be no faith. We must do something or we will suffer for it later..."
- He shook his head.
- "Of course it doesn't mean we can't use that as leverage to negotiate peace with Myllenoris again. We have to use smart tactics and sharper tongues if we want to truly bridge the gap that has been caused by nothing more than arrogance."
- He listens to Romani's words smart as the were it Inante couldn't find a way it would work.
- "It could work but we would need far more leverage than that, And the forces of three settlements coming down on us means we'll take heavy losses I don't know if are odds are even in our favor to win this battle, if we do manage to win the battle at the tower I don't believe we will unscathed...And even then what reason can we urge the leaders of the other three settlements that hate us and no longer desire peace sit at a table to discuss it?"
- He'd at the very least want to know what they could bargain with otherwise they'd show up empty handed.
- (Inante arl Salis)
- [23:11] Plenty of opinions thrown forth, the Stellus's mind slowly going over the advice from the others. Plans that the Stellus didn't truly think of before, mainly because when it came to political matters he tried to stay clear.
- But it seemed, no longer would it be a reactive stance, but more proactive.
- Terrifying.
- "A peace summit. The chances of failure due to bad blood is an extremely high chance, but. But there's a chance of success, of showing them that the losses that would come fort from a decision of war would be irreparable to their forces, to their kingdoms."
- "Peace will never come through war. War may sometimes be a necessary evil. But no matter how necessary, it is always an evil, never a good. We will not learn how to live together in peace by killing each other's children.."
- Pericles's body rose to a stand, it seemed they would be heading out straight to speak to the King. To get matters immediately dealt with, for words to be spoken swiftly.
- It wasn't a time to stall.
- "Romani's plan will be put into motion. Starfall Tower will be the start of the Faith's movement to attempt to solidify a peace throughout Esshar. Many seem to have forgotten about the Barsburg Empire that waits to snap away at our lands when they see strife."
- "And currently, we are easy targets."
- Another patter, outside presences that could so easily strike out.
- "The matter of Regulus's excommunication truthfully, is something that would have to be heavily thought upon, a matter that could only further cause chaos to spread."
- "For now, let's take the first step towards obtaining a peace throughout the lands."
- (Pericles Vitalis)
- [23:12] Malikos Caelum says, "As you do."
- [23:14] "I do not like defending the tower, but at this point it is a message more then anything else." Romani would say simply, letting out a sigh. A nod would be given towards Inante, until they spoke of excommunicating Regulus.
- "No."
- "If he has discriminated against the Celestial Church? If he has worked against us specifically? Then yes, Excommunicate him. But this is not a religious conflict. We would be using that power foolishly. More then that, it would lead to Myllenoris being less likely to come when we call for Summit."
- "We must have tact in how we act. We are a Church, a religious institution, not something specifically to appeal to the King. We are Peacekeepers. We need to act as if we are serving something bigger then us."
- "Because we are."
- An exhale, perhaps he spoke a bit too loudly there, before shaking his head.
- "I must apologize. I am stressed right now."
- "I do not think we need more leverage, however. If we take Starfall tower, it shows to the rest of the nations that Orsona has strength."
- "If we refuse to help the King if he is unwilling to accept our conditions, he will know that he can not take Starfall tower."
- "And if we lose the battle? We have to worry about none of that. We just have to focus on defending the Faithful."
- "Now, we should go over the full idea of terms and conditions." A paper would be drawn from inside of Romani's pack.
- "For one, the King must agree he will attend the peace summit if we win the battle for the Tower. What else should we make a condition? Because we should make these documents public. One, our contact that the king will attend the peace summons, and also a summons to all nations for peace if we win."
- "A chance of failure, it may have, but more lives will only be foolishly lost if we do Nothing. "
- (Romani cos Montclaire)
- [23:16] {Item} You drop Church Contract.
- [23:16] {Item} You picked up Church Contract. Dropped by Romani cos Montclaire. .
- [23:16] Romani cos Montclaire says, "Bring up conditions anyone would like to add."
- [23:17] Malikos Caelum says, "That he is to apologize."
- [23:17] Pericles Vitalis says, "Hostilities must not commence without explicit warning."
- [23:17] Inante arl Salis says, "I don't I have much faith in this plan but if you require my assitance or attentance I'll be there."
- [23:17] Inante arl Salis says, "Otherwise I'll leave it to you all."
- [23:18] Romani cos Montclaire says, "Apologize for? and I will include a hostilties clause."
- [23:19] Pericles Vitalis asks, "A limit on attendance from all sides?"
- [23:19] Malikos Caelum says, "That he should apologize towards Lady Asta, for doing what he did. Same with the Queen."
- [23:19] Malikos Caelum says, "Three."
- [23:19] Inante entered and he's met with a smile.
- "We're not passive." They agreed with. The Church was not an army, nor the personal one dedicated to the kingdom. "We've our own objectives that make us separate from the Order, as we should. Thought countless lives will be lost..."
- Though should could be smoothed were efforts focused on the Order to strengthen and solidify. But there's no need for questionable thoughts of the military. It's the job of the Radiants and the Lightbringer.
- However the summit sounds very nice.
- "A summit is what I can get behind... That will include Rin, the King, Serea, Penelope, Mars, Basil..." A few leaders they could think of. Since hosted, perhaps, by the Church, Priests will be present.
- Peace through words and discussion- But the sudden raise in Romani's voice startles them. They look over to the Keeper, first a bit stunned.
- Excommunication.
- "I would first like to add that I don't ever recall Regulus being a part of the Clergy- A Deacon or beyond. His land and titles were stripped away before our eyes... A direct call out to him would be catastrophic." In theory perhaps better, but how it'd work out in reality? Asta may kill someone again.
- "An attempt is better than none at all, even if it seems like it'd fail. Trying will allow for less murmurs about what we do and do not do. We're firm and concrete for acting quickly..."
- The specifics of the documents... It seemed handled by Romani. Del could only smile at the rather thorough Keeper.
- (Del mer Joyau)
- [23:20] Pericles Vitalis says, "Three would perhaps to be too small, let's go with five. So advisors and bodyguards can be brought if required."
- [23:20] Del mer Joyau says, "I agree."
- [23:20] Del mer Joyau says, "I don't believe either of them will..."
- [23:21] Del mer Joyau says, "They should apologize to Esshar, however..."
- [23:21] Del mer Joyau says, "The people that will suffer because of this war."
- [23:21] Inante arl Salis says, "Well if everyone agrees to move forward I'll let you deliberate the details."
- [23:22] Pericles Vitalis asks, "How's it looking so far Romani?"
- [23:23] Inante remains silent unless called on just idling until the meeting concludes.
- (Inante arl Salis)
- [23:23] When asked, Romani would peer up from his writing on the paper, reading how far he had gotten at that moment.
- "This is a contract from the Church.
- After the meeting of the Celestial Church in the year 1737 AC, regarding future church behavior. At the time of the meeting, the Church has decided on the following;
- 1. If this contact is followed and signed by King Alexander, we will be participating in the defense of Starfall tower.
- 2. If the King is unwilling to agree to this contact, the Celestial Faith will only defend the bridge to the west, and what is within the gate.
- The Church's conditions are thus;
- 1. If victory is had upon Starfall tower, the King will appear at a peace summit, soon following at the Starfall tower.
- 2. "
- His quill does pause, waiting for any current objections.
- "I am still writing it up currently."
- (Romani cos Montclaire)
- [23:26] Pericles's eyes focused on Romani and the written text that no doubt gradually formed as the terms were written away onto the piece of paper that would hopefully succeed.
- Blue eyes scanned across the paper, a quiet hum escaping his parted lips.
- "Direct and to the point, perfect."
- And it doesn't hold any downfalls to the Faith itself, for they were doing things that they would of done anyway, all for the sake of the innocent that they watched over.
- (Pericles Vitalis)
- [23:26] Pericles Vitalis says, "Another condition actually, perhaps."
- [23:27] Pericles Vitalis says, "Any captives that clergy members capture will be put under the care of the Celestial Church, till their situation has been decided."
- [23:27] Del nods in agreement.
- (Del mer Joyau)
- [23:29] The scratching of the quill ever fills the air as Romani would continue to work upon it.
- "Again, if we have any objections to the wording, do bring it up now."
- "2. Hostilities are no longer to commence between Orsona and other nations without explict warning. Further breach of this is counted as a violation of sacred hospitality.
- 3. An apology towards Lady Asta regarding the breach of Sacred hospitality must be made.
- 4. During the Peace meeting, all sides in attendance will have a limit of five people with them.
- 5. Any captives that the Clergy members take will be put under the care of the Celestial Church until their situation has been decided."
- He once more paused for others to speak.
- (Romani cos Montclaire)
- [23:29] Romani cos Montclaire asks, "Anything else we should add?"
- [23:29] Pericles Vitalis says, "I can not think of anything else."
- [23:30] Romani cos Montclaire says, "Alright."
- [23:31] Del mer Joyau says, "Perhaps..."
- [23:31] Del mer Joyau says, "Specifying the Church making a decision on any captives..."
- [23:31] Del mer Joyau says, "That would be my suggestion..."
- [23:35] A few last marks of the Quill are made onto the paper.
- "5. Any captives that the Clergy members take will be put under the care of the Celestial Church until their situation has been decided by the Celestial Church.
- On the Church side, if the King agrees with the contract, the Church will
- 1. Honor that it's members will defend Starfall tower.
- 2. Participate in this war further if no peace is made at the Summit, to bring an end to the war."
- He would pause, glancing up from the paper.
- "From now on, until the war ends, the Church must be an active part of the peace making process. Thus I am adding clause two. So we should very much see and be careful about what we would make the King agree to, as we want him to accept peace at the Summit."
- (Romani cos Montclaire)
- [23:35] Pericles Vitalis says, "The second condition, of our participation."
- [23:35] Pericles Vitalis says, "If the peace talks are particiapted in a lax manner, we would be dragged into a more offensive war."
- [23:36] Pericles Vitalis says, "A more direct confrontation, where we end up sieging others to put an end to the war."
- [23:37] Del nods.
- (Del mer Joyau)
- [23:37] Romani cos Montclaire asks, "So add a clause asking for the peace talks not to be used laxly, and for the king to have reasons for denying certain things at the peace talks, if he does?"
- [23:37] Del mer Joyau says, "Mhh..."
- [23:37] Romani cos Montclaire says, "Our ideal is not to further wage war. However, if the other nations refuse to stand down at the talks, we do need to enforce peace being brought directly."
- [23:38] Del mer Joyau says, "I agree. Should things become heated it should be called off and everyone escorted somewhere safely..."
- [23:38] Pericles Vitalis says, "I do not wish for the Faith to be used as a tool for conquest to be actually achieved, we would be on the frontlines. That is my main worry."
- [23:38] Del mer Joyau says, "Yes... They very well could attempt to do so..."
- [23:39] Romani cos Montclaire says, "Very well. I will strike clause two on the church's side, but do know the King will likely demand more in exchange for signing this contract."
- [23:39] Inante arl Salis says, "Hmm."
- [23:39] Del mer Joyau asks, "Like...?"
- [23:39] Romani cos Montclaire says, "Like a clause like two."
- [23:40] Romani cos Montclaire says, "We are asking for a lot for a single fight."
- [23:40] Del mer Joyau asks, "Demanding more violence for peace...?"
- [23:40] Del mer Joyau says, "Mh..."
- [23:40] Pericles Vitalis says, "Most likely, after all we are pushing for a lot."
- [23:40] Pericles Vitalis says, "Potentially seen as fools that wish to chase after a dream, especially with all the hatred that has formed from recent actions, but."
- [23:40] Pericles Vitalis says, "Let's pray, hm? We can come to more clauses if needed."
- [23:41] Del mer Joyau says, "Mmhh..."
- [23:41] Pericles Vitalis says, "I'll head over now with the paper, and speak to the King."
- [23:41] Romani cos Montclaire says, "2. Serve as guards during the Peace talks, seperately from Orsona to prevent breaches of Sacred hosptiality."
- [23:41] Inante arl Salis says, "I believe it a naive plan really Good faith is nice to have but I don't believe that everyone always has the best intentiosn just because we do."
- [23:41] Inante arl Salis says, "The situation could easily exasterbate things."
- [23:41] Inante arl Salis says, "The way I see it."
- [23:41] Romani cos Montclaire says, "It could. But it is important to attempt to bring peace."
- [23:41] Del mer Joyau says, "It's already spiraling out of control..."
- [23:41] Del mer Joyau says, "It's better than sitting idle, I believe."
- [23:41] Inante arl Salis says, "If it goes well we'll have at most 4 more years of peace before war starts up again."
- [23:41] Inante arl Salis says, "Or it will fail."
- [23:42] Romani cos Montclaire says, "3. Establish a global peace keeping organization, if the peace talks go successfully."
- [23:42] Inante arl Salis says, "And if it does fail it will make the Church responsible depending on what happens."
- [23:42] Del mer Joyau says, "Your grandmother was an Exarch. You should know more than ever that war will come and go."
- [23:42] A hand extended towards Romani for the paper, it was finally time to depart from the church and attempt to speak to the king about the matter of peace. He could only pray for the best, and the second clause cause his head to nod.
- "Perfect."
- Hopefully the Faith's reputation is one that'll offer some comfort to those that would hopefully travel to the peace summit.
- "The peace last time was poorly crafted, relationships between the two settlements didn't properly form. After all, who would wish war on their friends?"
- (Pericles Vitalis)
- [23:42] Del mer Joyau says, "It's up to us to at least make sure peace lasts..."
- [23:43] Inante arl Salis says, "Its exactly the reason why I don't believe attempting peace in this manner will make much of a difference. Beyond poor oil onto an open fllame"
- [23:43] Inante arl Salis says, "If it backfires it will reassure the other states why they hate us"
- [23:43] Del mer Joyau says, "For them to hate us for wanting peace will speak volumes to what they want..."
- [23:44] Del mer Joyau says, "If they hate an attempt for peace they will hate us regardless..."
- [23:44] Inante arl Salis says, "From Asta's demnads it's perfectly clear what they want."
- [23:45] Del mer Joyau says, "Should we remain idle then, Inante? A war fought with words, discussion, a bit of faith in the character of the leaders..."
- [23:45] Del mer Joyau says, "It's worth a shot..."
- [23:45] Inante arl Salis says, "I already gave my suggestion on what we should do."
- [23:45] A hand had been extended towards Romani, and the man would nod. The final scratches upon the paper were made, engraving the words in ink then reading them out loud for all to hear.
- "5. Any captives that the Clergy members take will be put under the care of the Celestial Church until their situation has been decided.
- 6. The Peace talks will be firmly engaged in by the King, and not acted upon in a lax manner.
- On the Church side, if the King agrees with the contract, the Church will
- 1. Honor that it's members will defend Starfall tower.
- 2. Serve as guards during the Peace talks, separately from Orsona to prevent breaches of Sacred hospitality.
- 3. Establish a global peace keeping organization, if the peace talks go successfully. "
- A glance towards Inante. "While it may spectacularly fail, it is on us to ensure that peace occurs. We need to be symbols of hope and peace. That is what I work and strive for."
- The paper then would be fully handed to the Stellus as Romani stood up.
- "I will go with you to see the king, Percilies."
- (Romani cos Montclaire)
- [23:45] Inante arl Salis says, "I didn't agree to being idle either."
- [23:46] Pericles Vitalis says, "Del, Inante."
- [23:46] Inante arl Salis says, "Symbols or marytrs its a very thin line."
- [23:46] Pericles Vitalis says, "Thank you for coming."
