47. Jason Voorhees returns with a new look, a new machete, and his same murderous attitude as he is awakened on a spaceship in the 25th century.
48. Finally captured in the year 2008, Jason Voorhees (<a href=">Kane Hodder) is held inside a government research facility whose scientists try to answer the question that keeps eluding them - why one of the most infamous mass murderers in history cannot die. Once Rowan (<a href=">Lexa Doig), leader of the research project, prepares the specimen for cryogenic suspension, a greedy scientist goes over her head and comes to remove Jason, only to have the mad slasher break free and slaughter him and his entire entourage. Tricking Jason into following her, Rowan eludes him into entering the cryogenic freezer and begins the process, but a breach in the system causes her to freeze with him. The government tries to deny any evidence of the project, and nearly four centuries pass, during which the Earth gradually becomes less and less habitable and humans have relocated to a planet in another star system that they've named Earth II. A team of young students descends onto the ruined Earth, where they find the frozen bodies of Jason and Rowan in the forgotten research facility and take back on board their ship with them. Rowan is thawed and revived, but the team mistakes Jason to be dead, having no idea of his abilities or motives. Before long, Jason awakens to the sound of young people having premarital sex once again, and the carnage erupts once again as the ship proceeds to Earth II. The remaining survivors fight for their lives as the centuries-old mad slasher proves that he is just as evil and just as indestructible during their time as he was centuries before.
49. Well, the Friday the Thirteenth movies scared me when I was eight, but they just don't do it for me anymore. I understand that it's supposed to be stupid, but come on. Can't the writers put a little effort into it? Stupid story, no scares, bad dialogue, bad acting, no laughs except the sleeping bag murder scene (and that was more of a reaction to shock than anything). Just a bunch of stupid, unlikeable people running around half-dressed, doing stupid things and being killed in mostly unoriginal ways. Don't Jason's fans ever get bored with this crap? I guess not, since it seems quite a few of them think that setting the story in outer space makes it original. I got news for you guys, it's been done a thousand times.

The problem that nagged me throughout the movie was - didn't this movie start out at some kind of government facility? So, everyone here is killed, and this girl is left there, frozen, for over 400 years? No one ever wonders what might have happened to these folks? Okay. And people have forgotten what bicycles and hockey were, but there's a guy who knows Jason's story all these centuries later, yet apparently he's the only one? Did I miss something here? It just seems weird that Jason's legend has survived this long but no one but this one guy knows about him. Also, no one seems to be able to grasp the basic concept that shooting him doesn't work. They waste all this time dragging around weapons and shooting at the guy, when they could be finding a way to shoot his tail out into space and be done with it. The Matrix-Trinity-Wannabe robot was completely ridiculous. The campers seem really unconvincing when they're giggling about "premarital sex". I mean, come on, what teenager calls it that? It was corny. And how's this for clever dialogue (I'm paraphrasing): "You're lucky you weren't around during the Microsoft conflict. We were beating each other with our own severed limbs." WHAT? Stupid movie. There are a thousand other flaws in this movie, but to attempt to list them all would take many hours. Entire volumes could be written about the stupidity that is present in this film.

I am begging you people, don't continue to give these people your money so that they can churn out these pointless, wasteful, idiotic movies. It's shameful that people go hungry while this kind of CRAP gets made, year in and year out. Plus, every time you watch a movie like this, part of your brain atrophies. It's bad for you. Go watch something good!
50. A friend and I went to see this movie knowing what we were in for and that was a total piece of s*** but to my bigger surprise it truly was the worst and most utterly absurd installment of the series and actually worse than the previous dreadful installment. I almost have to think they made this one to intentionally be one big feature length combination parody of the Friday the 13th series and Sci-Fi movies like Alien. There were more than enough parts that poked fun at the horror film series itself like the Virtual Reality Crystal Lake sequence. The ending which I won't give away was so ridiculous I almost rolled into the aisle with the rest of the audience in a fit of laughter! My friend and I were laughing through the end credits along with everyone else as we couldn't wait to get out the exit door of the theatre!
51. The premise of Jason X is silly but strangely believable.
52. After Freddy vs Jason. In that film Jason is ressurected by supernatural serial killer Freddy Kruger after being sent to hell at the end of Jason Goes to Hell and eventually defeats him and emerges triumphant from Crystal Lake. He is then captured by unknown parties and is being held by the military at the beginning of this film. Unknown, it may have been the military themselves although other suggestions have included Tommy Jarvis (from the fourth, fifth and sixth films) or Jason's niece and her boyfriend from Jason Goes to Hell. He is holding only the back of her head and dunking her face in, and presumably thought the nitrogen was just water in which he could drown her. Brodski used the jet pack on his spacesuit to escape and fly around to the side. Very possibly, but odds are this question will never be answered properly, given that we didn't see Jason's final state in this movie (i.e. whether he was disintegrated completely on re-entering Earth II's atmosphere, leaving only his mask, or whether he survived and the mask was simply separated from his head), and the remake means that there will likely be no future film to fill in the gaps. The script has someone pulling Jason's mask out of the water at the end (though doesn't specify if it is Jason), and comic books show that Jason did survive the end of this movie; whether or not you count them as being a proper part of the Friday the 13th storyline boils largely down to personal taste. In terms of the movies however, this is the last one in the original storyline so yes, he is dead. So far, there are 12 movies in the Friday the 13th series. Beginning with Friday the 13th (1980) (1980), following are Friday the 13th Part 2 (1981) (1981), Friday the 13th Part III (1982) (1982), Friday the 13th: The Final Chapter (1984) (1984), Friday the 13th: A New Beginning (1985) (1985), Jason Lives: Friday the 13th Part VI (1986) (1986), Friday the 13th Part VII: The New Blood (1988) (1988), Friday the 13th Part VIII: Jason Takes Manhattan (1989) (1989), Jason Goes to Hell: The Final Friday (1993) (1993), Jason X (2001) (2001), Freddy vs. Jason (2003) (2003), and Friday the 13th (2009) (2009). A fan film, The Cold Heart of Crystal Lake (2003), was also released in 2003. A documentary about Jason, His Name Was Jason: 30 Years of Friday the 13th (2009), was released February 10th 2009. a5c7b9f00b
