- [a01] --- Getting the Games ---
- If you already have the games, great!
- If not, I have uploaded the following to my Google Drive here: https://drive.google.com/open?id=1sokHgkmWt20U34nO6SVCH534lgK3JWLe
- (They're in a compressed .cso format instead of .iso now, to save storage. This has no impact on their performance.)
- ● Ace Combat X (American copy)
- ● Ace Combat X (European copy)
- ● Ace Combat X (Japanese copy) - For those fucking weebs out there.
- ● Ace Combat JA (American copy)
- ● Ace Combat JA (European copy)
- ● Ace Combat JA (Japanese copy) - For those fucking weebs out there.
- PLEASE NOTICE: Everyone needs to have the same region copy to play together.
- [a02] --- Getting Radmin ---
- Get Radmin VPN from here: https://www.radmin-vpn.com/
- This is the program that will let you do online multiplayer with PPSSPP.
- It also works with any other PC game/app that has LAN play.
- [a03] --- Getting PPSSPP ---
- Obviously, get PPSSPP itself from here: https://www.ppsspp.org/downloads.html
- I recommend clicking the link at the very top to get the latest development build, they're always ahead of the stable releases and 99% of the time have no issues.
- [a04] --- Configuring Radmin ---
- 1.) Click the orange power button to make it blue, which will "turn on" Radmin.
- 2.) At the top, click System > Change Name to customize your name. By default it uses your computer's name.
- [a05] --- Joining Radmin Networks ---
- 1.) At the top, click Network > Join an Existing Network
- 1a.) Use the Private Network tab, ignore the Gaming Network tab
- [a06] --- Networks To Join ---
- I have pre-made six different Radmin networks for everyone to use, one for each Game and Game Region. With unlimited user capacity!
- NETWORK NAMES: (without quotations, case sensitive)
- ● "Ace Combat X - America"
- ● "Ace Combat X - Europe"
- ● "Ace Combat X - Japan"
- ● "Ace Combat JA - America"
- ● "Ace Combat JA - Europe"
- ● "Ace Combat JA - Japan"
- PASSWORDS: (without quotations, case sensitive)
- ● "Gryphus" for X lobbies
- ● "Antares" for JA lobbies
- NOTICE: If you right-click another user in the same lobby and "Ping" them, getting a response means the connection is stable and working! But if it times out, that means there's something wrong on either your end or theirs. Figure it out!
- !!! [[[WARNING]]] !!!
- Both AC:X and AC:JA have difficulties when dealing with Ping above 100-150, because they were built with actual local wireless in mind.
- High ping will result in disconnections, errors, and all sorts of problems!
- [a07] --- Configuring PPSSPP's Multiplayer ---
- 1.) Launch PPSSPP, on the right, click Settings.
- 2.) On the left, click Networking.
- 3.) CHECK/ENABLE the "Networking/WLAN" setting.
- 4.) In the "PRO Ad Hoc server IP address" field, paste the IP of the person who will be hosting the game session.
- 4a.) You can get this by right-clicking the user in Radmin and clicking "copy IP address".
- 5.) CHECK/ENABLE the "built-in PRO Ad Hoc server" setting.
- 6.) On the left, click System.
- 7.) UNCHECK/DISABLE the "Fast Memory" setting. (This step is crucial!)
- 8.) Exit PPSSPP entirely after applying these Networking changes, and then re-launch it. (This seems to solve some issues!)
- NOTICE: If you want additional help with PPSSPP's other settings, consult the /aceg/ Emulation Guide found in the OP.
- [a08] --- Game Fixes ---
- There is an existing bug in PPSSPP when emulating X and JA, where the game will "freeze" when trying to play FMV cutscenes between missions.
- Thankfully, this is very easy to fix:
- 1.) In PPSSPP, go to Settings
- 2.) On the right, click System
- 3.) Change the "I/O Timing Method" option to "Host (bugs, less lag)"
- NOTICE: Not everyone will experience this bug, but you may as well follow these steps anyhow just in case.
- [a09] --- Notes/Extras ---
- Makes the skies beautiful, nuggets!
- Use Ostrich's HD texture packs for X and JA!
