- I headbutted him and slashed him across the throat, but he brought a forearm up and took the cut there. I felt my blade hit bone, but he was moving the arm and his balled fist caught me on a nerve cluster at the end of my wrist. My hand went numb and I lost the knife. He tried to stab me, to end it right there, drilling his knife upward under my chin, but the proximity of our bodies foiled the thrust and instead his blade caught in my lapel. I headbutted him again and he staggered back without his knife.
