In combat Papyrus uses Blue Magic, this does damage to moving things/people. He is able to turn a person's soul blue, when the soul is blue...the person tends to be weighed down. It is possible to move around but it is difficult. When the bones used for attacks are blue the person has to stay still or else they will get hurt. On that note most of his attacks are bones much like his brother. When CQCing he utilizes two long bones like batons.
