  1. Choice to go for - Litespeed, bitninja or imunify360
  2. We currently use Litespeed, Bitninja basic with CXS Modsec ruleset(CXWatch disabled).

  16. Now we have a budget for 20x servers we have to launch soon but manager states to choose between Litespeed, Bitninja or imunify360 based on what is actually beneficial based on our current shared servers.
  17.
  18. Performance and Security are obviously both important.
  19.
  20. What would you go for in thise case?
  21.
  22. Our system admins seem to like Bitninja and Imunify360 as the main options first.

  27. LiteSpeed is for performance and Bitninja and Imunify360 are for security. So one is a web server and the other two are security software.
  28.
  29. So the question should be LiteSpeed + Imunify360 or LiteSpeed + Bitninja?
  30.
  31. I only used Bitninja once and it was when it first launched and so I can't really comment on how good it is. But I recommend LiteSpeed to help improve speed and I am familiar with Imunify360 and would recommend that software too.
  32.
  33. It is best for you to test them all yourself and see which you prefer.

  44. It seems Imunify360 does have some advantages over Bitninja though.
  45. LiteSpeed for better traffic handling and Imunify for servery security.
  46. LiteSpeed has nothing to do with the 2. You can still use Apache 2.4 with proper optimization though if you want to save some money.
  47.
  48. Bitninja is good especially with preventing spam but sometimes, a bit of strict especially if those IPs are known to get hacked or infected with trojan and such.
  49.
  50. Imunify is also good but just not happy with their modsecurity rules throwing some buggy rules error so we had to disable it considering we have our own modsec rules.
  51.
  52. So, you can choose to use any of the above as long as you monitor it closely.
  53. Now we have a budget for 20x servers we have to launch soon but manager states to choose between Litespeed, Bitninja or imunify360 based on what is actually beneficial based on our current shared servers.
  54. It sounds like your manager doesn't really know what he is doing if he is lumping a web server like LiteSpeed together with the two other security solutions.
  55. Performance and Security are obviously both important.
  56. If performance and security are both important to you, you will want to retain LiteSpeed and then decide between Bitninja or Imunify360.

  60. What version of IM360 did you use? Did you have ruleset update enabled (sometimes people disable modsec rule auto-update and they stuck with outdated ones)? As the ruleset in the latest 4.3 shall work like a charm. Thanks!
  61.
  62. Nothing to do with update or not.
  63.
  64. Their developers confirmed the issue already and they are releasing the new ruleset v2.68 to resolve it.
