  1. EzekielHarbinger: --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  2. EzekielHarbinger: Alice had slept fairly well all in all, the exhaustion from expending most of her mana cleaning up the pile of rubble the night prior had taken a great deal more out of her than she honestly thought, but more so it was the words of her Uncle that held her mind deeply in thought, the fact he did not see kindred in the same light as she did, nor did he hold the animosity she thought he would for the mage community, it was quite a bit different than she thought it would be to finally meet him. Rising from the comforts of the bed she casted those sharp artic hues out the window, the sun breaking way through the lingering grey clouds was about the only sign to it being morning at this point, her mind continued to race as she moved from the room down the hall, his reaction to the question of what happened to the house was one that she couldn't shake, the anger that held his words in responce, what was he hiding and why? "My family is so messed up." she groaned as she reached up and rubbed the back of her neck as she came into the library.
  3. DeviousMiskreent: The table had been cleared and reset already this morning, holding an array of foods closer to what Alice would prefer, Kellen having observed her eating habits the night before. Though at the same time, there were also trays of scrambled eggs, bacon, and sausage with silver domes, steam comming from the trays to keep the foods warm. Though Kellen himself was nowhere to be found, nor did it appear that he had eaten himself. there was a notecard addressed to Alice "Help yourself, make yourself at home" but there was no signature nor any trace of Kellen on the card itself. ------ Deep, deep below the manner was where Kellen was, and actually quite a ways away from the base of the house as well. Torches lit the underground area, a space that looked very ritualistic, and indeed it was. But the center of it all was Devon, hung from the ceiling by his wrists, spread eagle and quite naked. His bruised and bloodied form hanging unconscious and still. Kellen stood before him, another glass of wine in his hand as he studied his 'son'. The problem was that his neice was upstairs, and if Devon woke while she was here, it was likely she would find her way here, she was a bright thing, especially if she heard Devon's screams, or felt his magic in any way. Kellen tapped the edge of the glass along his lip, thinking. "I suppose you get a repose for now Devon" he said softly and waved his hand over the front of Devon's form, casting Silence around the other man, followed by spells of invisibility and cloaking to make him unseeable, hearable, or scyable. One his way out, he sealed the tomb like chamber with spells of undetection and sealing, hoping it would be enough to keep Alice away, far, far away. ---d--
  4. EzekielHarbinger: The spread of the morning meals was nice to see yes, the french press coffee the first thing she noticed as she fixed herself a cup, sipping at it with a soft sigh before her artic hues took notice of the little note, scoffing before practically dropped into the chair near by, taking some fruit and a few sausages onto a plate that she would pick from while wandering the room yet again, letting her gaze dance over the many different books to see if anything would jump out at her, slightly disapointed her uncle wasn't there to converse with at least, she knew he had his secrets and it would probably take a great deal for him to learn to trust her in any way or form before he shared a great deal with her, but she was a bit of child in that manner, she just wanted her family to be whole. The energies she felt around this place was like no other, the mana that gathered here alone was incredible, but than she felt something else, there was a life signature, though before she could really focus in on it, it was gone, no indication as to where it had gone or how it was gone, it was just gone, in her years of expereince that typically meant some one was hiding much more than simple secrets, a dark giggle passing her lips as she thought of the dungeon back in Mauger, and the 'play room' back in the Quarter, was her Uncle a kinky freak too, or did have a dungeon actually meant for torture and rituals. Now her mind really began to race as she could help but look through the matter to see if she could find the signatures of a doorway leading into a secret passage or something, naturally grabbing another piece of fruit as she wandered the room.
  5. DeviousMiskreent: "Hmmmm that didnt take long" Kellen mused to himself and shook his head as Alice's thoughts were projected to him through the magic of his manner. He rubbed his eyes gently as he made his way back towards the house through the underground catacombs and passageways and up to the secret door hidden under his bed. "this ought to be fun" he added to his own throughts as he reemerged, locked up and hid the door, replaced his bed and bedding and exited his quarters. "Good morning young lady" he said lightly, causally making his way to the table. "I hope you slept well" he added as he sat down, pulling a huge plate of eggs bacon and potatoes to himself. He ate much like his sister did. --d--
  6. EzekielHarbinger: Her gaze had been dancing over every surface in plain view and those hidden behind the bookselves, though she did find where Kai enjoyed sleeping , she quite litteraly sighed with a pout when she hadn't found the passage she was hoping for. she had moved back to the table and leaned on the arm of the chair with her coffee in hand and piece of sasauge literly hanging from her mouth, 'Maybe I missed it.' she thought to herself as she kept looking around, nearly choking when her Uncle came into the room, "Morning Uncle." she said quickly swallowing the last bit of food in her mouth as she took the sasauge from her lips, "I did thank you, your place is amazing for mana and energy recharge. I so need to learn those ones for my own place." she sat down in the chair.
  7. DeviousMiskreent: Kellen looked up from his meal, a smirk on his face. "You mean to tell me you haven't figured it out yet Alice? Or havent you tried to find out where the mana comes from?" he asked, almost teasingly as he dug into his food, and poured himself some orange juice.--
  8. EzekielHarbinger: "When you're as busy as I have been, simple things like eating meals with fmaily don't happen very often." her gaze dropped to the plate in front of her, taking drink of the warm bitter liquid with the cup, her thoughts going to her mother, and brothers in that breif moment before she would take a deep breath and smile. "Living in the Mage community we weren't suppose to ask those things, we were simply told for every life there is death, with death there is life, the mana we use for our spells and rituals are replensihed when we die. I always knew there was so much more to it than that, but I also just wanted learn it all, it's part of why I went to work with Lady Aife."
  9. DeviousMiskreent: He sipped at his drink, a little confused at her line of thought and perked one dark brow at her. "You are free to ask anything you want here Alice, free to learn everything there is to learn in any tome you find here. Like I said, nothing is off limits. .... well . . except the ruins out there" he said, and took another bite of eggs. "Open up your senses, trace the mana that you feel flowing through the house. It's easy enough to find" he coaxed her. "You just have to learn to filter out the fuzz, extraneous information, the energies that you can identify as not the source
  10. DeviousMiskreent: " he explained. --d--
  11. EzekielHarbinger: She listened to his words and raised a brow as she took another drink of the coffee, setting the cup down on the table she thought about what he said for a moment, "Then who is it you are hiding and why? I felt the life energy moments ago, and than it was gone. The only time I have ever felt something like that is when some one has a being locked up in a dungeon or something." she knew she was overstepping a bit, but he had just said she could ask any questions she wanted.
  12. DeviousMiskreent: He took the question in stride this time, fully expecting her to ask something along those lines, and not shocked as he had been the night before. His eyes still darkened as he finished off his drink, and anger rolled off of him in heated waves, but it wasnt directed precisely at her or her question. He sighed through his nose and set his glass down. "You are not incorrect Alice. I do have a prisioner. It is he who attacked me and brought down that wing of the house." he honestly hoped she would take the hint as he pushed a sausage accross his plate then litterally stabbed it with his fork. Devon's betrayal weighed heavilly on him, and honestly confused and angered him. Why had the demon suddenly grown a concince, why turn on him then? was it that tart of a red headed kindred? was it meeting his 'mother'? Kellen wasn't sure, and that was what angered him most. --d--
  13. EzekielHarbinger: She could see and feel the heat of the anger that flowed from him just thinking about her question, she knew the anger wasn't directed at her, or the question itself, clearly it was meant for this prisoner, her gaze shifting to the collapsed side of the house where she had taken the time to clean up before looking back to him, "This may be a bit .... brasin, but can I help in some way? I mean, not to rub it in or nothing, but times have changed, as has magic, and you have stated yourself, you have been alone for a rather long time. I may be able to help get the information you want from your prisoner, that is if he is that sort of prisoner."
  14. DeviousMiskreent: Kellen was about to snap at her for pushing the issue when her question suddenly took him by surprise. He actually sat up straighter and gazed down the length of his nose at her, "that . . .sort of prisoner?" he asked, his brows rising in confused question--
  15. EzekielHarbinger: "Oh dear uncle, people have had dungeons built in their houses for other purposes these days." she giggled lightly as he seemed rather confused, "I meant if you are trying to get information out of him, and well not use him for ....." her danced around the plate in front of her for a brief moment, "Well sexual favors."
  16. DeviousMiskreent: He nearly choked on his next bite of food and burst out laughing. "Oh gods and demons . . no . . no no no. I mean -snorts softly- I know were not going to discuss that" he said, shaking his head. "He is a relation of . . . ours, and that is one line I do not cross" he said, still coughing as he took a sip of water. --d--
  17. EzekielHarbinger: "Well that is certainly good to know." she let those words sink in a moment as she tilted her head at him, she struggled with her next words as even she had a bit of a hard time coming to understand the full extent of the situation. "A relative of ours?" she rose to her feet and walked a few feet away to the window, she had to take her time with this one, who had she missed in her search for family, clearly she had missed Kellen, though they were in full beleive that he was dead, and than she remembered what was said about the one who impregnated the kindred woman, mated to her employers childer. She turned back to look at him with those bright blue hues, "You have Devon Mclarin as your prisoner don't you?"
  18. DeviousMiskreent: He was fully prepared for the assumption this time, utensils food, glass all set down and away from his hands as he looked up at her pacing as she thought. "Mmm . . and if I said I do, how would you feel about that Alice?" he asked, his voice dark and flat the way it had been the night before when she had asked about the ruined wing of the house. --d
  19. EzekielHarbinger: His question put her back, how did she feel about it, she wanted to murder the bastard for taking Jacoby's sister, the action having meant so much more because he took her from Jacoby's territory, but than again, that didn't seem to matter much to JAcoby, as he threw his life away to become kindred, all for knowledge. The ain of that still fresh in her mind, it took her a few extra moments to refuc her thoughts, this was still the same Devon that plagued this world with yet another immortal, "I truly don't know how I feel about it. I am told he is your son, with the kindred Raven, before she was kindred. But he is also the one that impregnated the mate to my employers childer, plaguing this world with yet another possible immortal. I want to be angry about it, but I don't think I can be at this point."
  20. DeviousMiskreent: Kellen steepled his fingers on the table, his chin resting just on their tips as he listened to her. "You have a few of those facts wrong Alice. First, Raven was already kindred when she bore our son Devon. It was my magic that brought her to life long enough to do so. You say plaguing this world with another immortal. Your mother, aunt, and I are all immortal. You and your siblings likely are as well. You will likely live forever unless you die a violent death. And yes, he is the one that impregnated Jessilyskya. On my orders" he said, dropping that bomb of truth on her. --d--
  21. EzekielHarbinger: The last part shocked her, she had to actually sit down on the window sil to absorb it all, there was so much more of her family that she never put together, where the hell was Gavin or Ray, they were always so much better at piecing things together. "Why?' her voice was shaken.
  22. DeviousMiskreent: He took in a long, slow breath. "Does it really matter Alice? why I do what I do, or is it what im doing? I didn't think you would care about the fate of a kindred or a kindred born child? Dont you hate them excessively?" he asked calmly. --d--
  23. EzekielHarbinger: "That's not what I meant Uncle. I don't care what becomes of the leeches or thier child." she rose to her feet once more and moved back over to the table, placing her hands along the surface as she leaned in, "I want to know why you would need one so badly you would have your own son get a kindred pregnant? And please tell me this is about immortality. You said it yourself, you are an immortal, you don't have to worry about that."
  24. DeviousMiskreent: He watched her intently, sitting back up in his chair as she approached, alarm bells sounding in his head as he took in her anger. "Im not inclined to explain my reasons to you young lady, but no, it is not about immortality
  25. DeviousMiskreent: " he said flatly. "Now please, sit down or change the subject because if you continue to ask about this all you will do is get me angry" he added, and poured himself another glass of wine. --d--
  26. EzekielHarbinger: "Than you best be prepared for anger in return, but I refuse to drop this." her skin began to shift and darken into the shadowy scaled flesh of her Rabisu lineage, "You have permitted me to be here, you said I could ask anything, and that I could learn anything, this is what I have chose to ask and you turn me away because you think I'm scared of your anger. You're in for one hell of a surprise than uncle." the shadows around her frame thickened greatly as those galatic hues took her gaze. Once they dispersed before him was no long the young humanly looking Alice, but the Rabisu princess, the plant life that surrounded the entire place seeming got a dose of some wicked fertelizer as they grew quickly at her presence alone, "Now stop being so damned scared and actually let some one in when they give two shits about you."
  27. DeviousMiskreent: Kellen sat there calm as always, his hand steepled against his chest once more as she had her little temper tantrum. Watching in hidden awe of the creature his neice became. "I suggest that you reel in your temper tantrum Alice, because as I give, so to can I take away" he said calmly, reaching out to the table he drew a simple sigil. It looked like a lower case h with a long top and tail, the upper top was then branched with an L making it look like a 4 overlaying an h, in reality it was a combined power sigil of the runes that represented Jupiter (4) a planet of life and related mostly to nature and Saturn (h) the planet of death, destruction and rebirth. Nothing happened until he drew a circle around both sigils and slammed his hand atop it. All the energy and mana she had regained while in his house was instantly sapped from her being, leaving her as exhausted and tired as when he found her. --d--
  28. EzekielHarbinger: Her gaze dropped to the sigils he was drew along the surface of the table and smiled sweetly at him, waiting for him to activate the power within the runes themselves, oh yes, she knew of runes and sigils and knew exactly which one he was working with in that single moment. Yes, the mana she had gathered since being there had been sapped from her being, but she stood there, almost as though she were uneffected by the power of the rune, "You see Uncle, it would have been better to use something like that against the mage, as you can clearly see I am not very magey at the moment. Basically all you have done is keep me from using my trinities while in this form." her words were actually quite calm, her tone held no anger, no frustration, in fact there may have been a hint of ammusment even. "As a demon we do not rely on mana to be able to control our abilities. A demons power comes from the house, even then, what we have in our stores are not so easily drained. So can we please get past this pissing contest of who is the better mage, stronger abilities and just get back to the original question? Can I assist you in your endevours to quicken your process. You want the baby, take it, like I care of some leech, saves Gavin from having to kill it in the furture any way. You want answers, let me help you find them. Or send me away, to leave you to your empty house, and your loneliness."
