BACKGROUND:
    ¤ xiao was born in shenzhen, china, to a pair of busy workers. her mother was a businessman who was often working on business trips, and her mother was secretary who worked long hours in the city. her parents hadn't been expecting a child, but they were happy nonetheless when they discovered that she was to be born. xiao was never really close with her father, due to the fact that he had secretly hoped that xiao would be a boy (xiao herself often wondered if this was why she was given her name, because even though it was unisex, she thought it seemed to be used as a boys name a lot more commonly). her mother had to take time off work to look after xiao, but then went back to being a secretary when xiao turned five. of course, xiao wasn't yet old enough to look after herself while her mother was out at work, so her parents employed a nanny, who took care of xiao, and took her to and from school every day and looked after her. so of course, young xiao was closer with her nanny, since after that her mother's work hours got longer and longer. at school, xiao was relatively popular, mostly due to the fact that she always tried to befriend everyone, which led to her having a lot of friends. as she grew up, xiao had always had an interest in music, first picking up the violin and taking lessons for that each week, as well as joining the lcoal gymastic team, as she was very flexible. she decided she wanted to become an idol when she was fourteen years old, after seeing the other people perform, and she realised she wanted to do that as well. at first her parents weren't very pleased. her father wanted her to attend university and become a doctor, and her mother usually just went along with everything her father said. however, xiao fought to get their approval, having already attended and international audition with the help of her nanny. after she let slip that she'd already been accepted, her mother began to cave, and said that xiao could go, provided that she get good grades at the end of the year, promising that she would talk to her father and convince him to let her go. needless to say, xiao worked as hard as she could to get good grades, and was finally allowed to go to korea and begin her training when she was fifteen. she still remains in contact with her mother, but rarely ever speaks with her father.

PERSONALITY:
    ¤ in all honesty, xiao often seems like she has a split personality, due to the fact that her personality is always taking 180 degree turns. while performing she has no problems pulling off the sexy image. however, as soon as the music stops, she is back to being a total cutie. she always has a smile on her face, which can sometimes scare people away because they wonder how she can be so happy all the time. she is a major harry potter geek, and can find quotes from the books and movies to fit almost every situation. she is the type of person that has a lot of friends, and is always stopping to say hello to people she knows around the entertainment company. she is also extremely chatty, and could talk for the whole of korea. she has no problems conversing with people, whether they be people she's known her whole life, or a stranger she's just struck up a conversation with on the street. she is the type of person who is always friendly to everyone, but if you somehow insult her, it is extremely hard to get back into her good books, and she will be extremely salty towards you. she doesn't really let the language barrier get in the way of things, even though her korean skills have greatly improved since when she first debuted. other than this, xiao is pretty much a walking contradiction. she is the type of person that one would expect to have an endless amount of energy, and be bouncing off the walls on a sugar high 24/7, but she can actually be very lazy when ithe comes tout aNY thing other tHan dancing. if she doesn't want to do something, she will not do it. she absolutely loves her sleep, but she is known to stay up late on social media or reading harry potter, or sometimes even practicing. she doesn't handle responsibility well and known to crumble under pressure, but she doesn't like not being in control of things. xiao is pretty much a baby, and is known to be very fussy and whiney a lot, and absolutely loves to be babied (even though she won't admit it). she often acts like the youngest, due to her childish nature, and lack of responsibility. however, despite his, she loves fussing over people an babying them. she has her own fair share of aegyo up her sleeve, but she claims it is only for emergency situations (like making the others do stuff for her when she is too lazy to do it herself). it is easy to tell when xiao is tired or upset, because she doesn't talk much, and doesn't seem to have any energy at all, and just tends to curl up to one of the older members. she is horrible at hiding her emotions, and wears them on her sleeve, which is why people find her very easy to read. however, xiao is a very good person to talk to when you're  upset, because she will do anything to make her friends smile again, with millions of smiles and jokes up her sleeve (and bad aegyo if worse comes to worse), even if it means embarrassing herself. she is very good at making faces (which, embarrassingly enough, often end up caught on camera) she also has an uncanny ability to seemingly appear out of nowhere and sneak up on people without meaning to.

HOW YOU ACT ON STAGE: xiao has no troubles pulling off the group's concept, but as son as the music stops, all traces of sexines disappear, and she goes back to being her childish self. she knows how to get the crowd excited, and can often be seen trying to interact with the crowd as much as she can, always wearing a bright smile on her face and willing do do anything asked.

HOW YOU ACT IN PUBLIC: again, she's still her normal self, because she doesn't believe in pretending to be someone she's not. she does have a habit of making odd faces, and more often than not these faces are caught on camera and end up all over the internet. she doesn't mind doing aegyo for fans if asked, and takes thousands of selfies with fans she meets. she also very good at variety because she doesn't mind embarrassing herself (or others).

HOW THEY MET: well, they first met when they bumped into each other at the filming set, since they were separated from the rest of the group. of course, since they didn't know each other it was very awkward, because they didn't know what to say. and xiao, who absolutely hated awkward silences, managed to embarrass herself because she began rapidly talking about the weather in mandarin.

FIRST IMPRESSIONS: he was very confused at first because he either didn't understand what she was talking about (baekhyun) or was curious as to why the hell she was talking about the weather as if she was a news reporter (chen). xiao didn't realise it at first, because it was just an instinct for her to try and fill the silence, and she didn't realise that she was talking in mandarin until he pointed it out. of course then she was very embarrassed, and tried to come up with something else to say, so she began rambling about harry potter and how house elves deserved better, which just makes him even more confused.

HOW HE ACTS AROUND YOU:
    ¤ BEG | at the begin he was kind of confused, since she first started talking about the weather in chinese, then started talking about house elves and harry potter. he, like most people, had come to the conclusion that she was extremely weird. however, he wasn't exactly scared off like most other people would be, because he honestly thought she was very amusing. so him, being the teasing person her was, kept bringing it up, which sort of annoyed her because she was trying as hard as she could to forget the whole incident. hr wasn't really pissed off by her attitude, and simply told her that she was really cute and went to ruffle her hair, which xiao almost hit him for.
    ¤ MID | in the middle, they sort of become friends. well, technically they're gossiping buddies, because xiao starts ranting and gossiping to him about people she doesn't like (even though there aren't many people who fit into that category), and he is nice enough to sit there and listen to her talk and bitch about the people few people who have somehow managed to piss her off, finding the whole thing amusing. he starts to unconsciously correct small pieces of her korean, because she is known to stumble through words when she talks really fast, and starts to low-key flirt with her. in all honesty, he kind of expects her to slap him or something for his lame attempts at flirting, but is surprised when she flirts back. their flirting is really obvious to everyone (including themselves). they then become a lot closer and start talking, since they trust each other with their secrets, after all the bitching they've done.
    ¤ END | at the end, their skinship is more obvious, to the point where they are very close with each other, because they've been talking a lot more and texting each other. she is often found sitting on his lap or something, and there is a lot of hugging. he is only slightly awkward, due to the fact where they are practically dating, but not officially because neither has asked the other one out, and he feels like he should ask her out but is too chicken to do it, so his members keep telling him to "grow a pair and ask her out before someone else beats you to it." they basically act like a couple with skinship and kissing and stuff, but it isn't official, and it drives everyone else mad because of their sexual tension.

    ¤ BEG | at the beginning she is embarrassed because of what she did when they first met. however, her embarrassment soon turns in annoyance because he keeps bringing it up and teasing her about it, which causes her to whine. in all honesty, she is also kind of confused that he isn't avoiding her. most people seemed to find her bubblines a bit overbearing.  however, at this point, she tries (and fails) to tone down her personality, because doesn't actually want to scare him away or put him off. and even though he drives her up the wall, she actually enjoys his presence (not that she'd admit it to anyone.)
    ¤ MID | in the middle, she is more close with him, because she gets really pissed off at a jyp trainee or something and starts ranting to him about it, which then turns into a bitching session about the small number of people she's ever hated in her life. he just sits there listening, and amused smile on his face. after this, they become bitching buddies, and she always goes to him to rant about the people who piss her off, and vice versa (even though they're aren't very many people to bitch about between the two of them), because she trusts him and knows he won't tell anyone. however, when she rants she tends to stumble across her words, and when he corrects her, she simply listens and doesn't try to hurt him for correcting her, like she would with most people. she also smiles at his lame attempts to flirt, and flirts back with him, all awkwardness disappearing through their bitching sessions which have turned them into really good friends.
