  1. **Roleplay Rules**
  2.
  3. ```1. Metagaming
  4.
  5. Metagaming is the act of using information gained through Out-Of-Character (OOC) means In-Character (IC).
  6.
  7. Here are some examples:
  8.
  9. • Using Information gathered from OOC Chat (In-Game OOC, LOOC, Steam, PM etc.)
  10. • Using Information from the Steam Group or Discord unless explicitly stated as IC (i.e. Business Advert)
  11. • Asking a friend OOC to help you with an IC issue (i.e. Being robbed)
  12. • Using the nametag or scoreboard to identify a person in a disguise
  13. • Using information gained from one of your characters on a different character of yours IC```
  14.
  15. ```2. New Life Rule
  16.
  17. New Life Rule (NLR) is enacted when a player dies. Your character will not remember any of the events leading up to their death (How they died and their attackers etc).
  18.
  19. Here are some examples:
  20.
  21. • Taking revenge on your killers after being killed on that character
  22. • Instantly creating a relative or friend of the character killed to swear revenge on who ever killed them (Not technically NLR but very poor and unrealistic practice)
  23. • Remembering someone you met during the events leading up to your death
  24. • Instantly associating with people you were allies with on your old character (If PK'd)
  25.
  26. If a character is perma-killed (PK'd) they can not be recreated or revived no matter how much time passes (unless stated otherwise by staff).
  27.
  28. Please avoid creating an exact clone of your old character but under a different name.```
  29.
  30. ```3. Powergaming
  31.
  32. Powergaming can be used to describe when a player acts for another player without permission or giving the other player time to react. Powergaming can also be used to describe Asspulling “IC people” for your own advantage, or performing impossible maneuvers such as dodging a bullet.
  33.
  34. Here are some more examples:
  35.
  36. • Asspulling rare skills without authorisation from staff (i.e. expert gunsmith, ex-ranger)
  37. • Asspulling items for an advantage (i.e. lockpicks, kevlar, weapons, tools)
  38. • Forcing roleplay onto others without allowing them to react (Even when firing a gun you must allow people to react to being shot.)
  39. • Inhuman reflexes (Dodging direct gunfire, blocking/dodging a sucker punch)
  40. • Claiming your weapon is hidden when being frisked. Make sure your weapon is ''HIDDEN'' in your description so others know
  41. • Raising your gun and firing it in the same action and claiming the shot was pinpoint accurate
  42. • Trying to rob an NPC trader
  43. • Failing to RP Fear```
  44.
  45. ```4. Exploiting / Abuse
  46.
  47. Exploiting or abusing mechanics and cheating will result in a permanent ban.
  48.
  49. Here are some examples:
  50.
  51. • Duplicating items or currency
  52. • Any form of hacking
  53.
  54. IF YOU DO FIND AN EXPLOIT, PLEASE, INFORM STAFF!
  55.
  56. However, abusing PET flags or a faction whitelist (i.e. getting cheaper guns for non-faction characters) will usually only result in those privileges being revoked.```
  57.
  58. ```5. Roleplay Guidelines
  59.
  60. 5.1 Erotic Roleplay
  61.
  62. Erotic Roleplay involving minors, animals or mutants will result in a permanent ban. Any graphic descriptions or actions are not allowed and should be kept to steam. Things such as kissing and sexually suggestive actions with human adult characters are fine.
  63.
  64. 5.2 Avoiding RP
  65.
  66. Players are encouraged to play out all RP situations. You must not avoid RP when initiated on, or try and leave an active RP situation.
  67. We understand players have lives and sometimes may have to go mid-session. These incidents will be dealt on a case by case basis.
  68.
  69. 5.3 Realistic Characters
  70.
  71. Characters are not allowed to have unnatural eye colours, hair colours or highly unique traits such as "Heterochromia" (Two differently coloured eyes) without proper permission from a member of staff. You may however lore-friendly things like missing fingers, limbs or deformed body parts.
  72. Also as stated above, characters must have permission from staff to create a character with rare traits like being an ex-ranger, expert gunsmith.
  73.
  74. 5.4 Fail RP and Fear RP
  75.
  76. Fear RP is a rule to ensure all players roleplay properly when in dangerous situations that would make someone fear for their life such as an armed robbery or coming across a mutant. If held at gunpoint, it would be unrealistic for your character to reach for their weapon when they could be easily shot at for doing so. Also, if held at gunpoint and you choose to flee without any /me, this would both be a fail RP and breaking Fear RP.
  77.
  78. Failure to RP an injury properly such as running when you've just been shot in the leg, is classed as fail RP. All players must RP their injuries properly. It'd be unlogical to be running around the next day when you've broken your leg the day before. Also, poor “mingey roleplay” will not be tolerated. Please avoid using internet abbreviations and emoticons in any IC messages as this is classed as fail RP also.```
  79.
  80. ```5.5 Killing other players
  81.
  82. Someone must have a valid roleplay reason to kill another player, otherwise it will be classed as Random Deathmatch (RDM.) If a player is caught Mass RDMing people they will be recieving a permanent ban. You must also always shoot to miss (S2M) when in a gunfight unless explicitly told by an admin it is Shoot to Kill (S2K), or as long as both parties agree.
  83.
  84. We highly encourage players to try and injure, not outright kill someone - Though it depends on the situation, we believe it creates much better stories in the long run.
  85.
  86. Whilst not against the rules, we highly encourage players to only resort to killing another player only when necessary. Obviously this highly depends on the scenario, a soldier would have an easier time taking a life at range against an enemy firing back at him than a simple dweller who decides to slit a person’s throat for little to no reason would.
  87.
  88. Permakills/Permadeath is only enacted under certain conditions such as; Executions, suicide or if the character being killed is of importance. PKs are ultimately only to be given out by staff but the player dying/parties involved (if both agree) also have the right to decide the character's fate . If you die during a mutant attack event to a mutant then you must roleplay being severely injured after the event is finished. Staff have the final say about a PK.```
  89.
  90. ```5.6 Building Guidelines
  91.
  92. When building you must adhere to a few small set of rules.
  93.
  94. If you are not a trader then:
  95.
  96. • No Bullet or Magazines models
  97. • No Weapons or ammo
  98. • Try to avoid armour/clothing or equipment in general
  99. • No Expensive items
  100.
  101. And these rules apply to all builders:
  102.
  103. • No lore-unfriendly props (e.g. Combine props)
  104. • Try to avoid over detailing
  105.
  106. Exeptions may be made for decoration purposes to make your home feel more alive. Please ask a member of staff when doing so. Objects placed around are NOT allowed to be stolen ICly as there's a lot of confusion regarding this subject.
  107.
  108. 5.7 PAC Guidelines
  109.
  110. PAC flags are given out to only those that show great RP or are well trusted in the community. Even to these people theres a couple rules they should follow.
  111. You must not abuse the camera to look through walls and do not give your character gear they do not have.
  112.
  113. Want to be sure if you're allowed to have a model, use an item for your character from the model, etc. Ask a member of staff!```
