- Ame wins.
- As much as I'd like to immediately give the win to Embrace for "Dick hits hard", Ame kept a consistent hold on arguments that were extremely relevant to his team winning, more specifically I felt that they argued NW, BWL, Batman, and Azrael in a way that was much more comprehensible and successfully hit Embrace with the rulebook multiple times in this debate. Embrace definitely argued Mysterio (initially) and Shang-Chi better than Ame, and Mysterio's role in Embrace's team winning makes the matter of who won this debate not just a matter of quantity but rather where the pieces fall when we take into account the points Ame successfully held and the point Embrace successfully held.
- Embrace definitely opens strong with brief, easy-to-follow arguments on durability, piercing, and speed alongside in-character actions using scans that at a surface-level seemed fairly straightforward (Ame later catches the arguments on mitigating context / specifics on basically everything Bat/Dick-related, however). Had Ame not pointed out how GDT rules break a few of Embrace's key arguments with weaponry, and didn't shut down BWL's piercing arguments later in the debate, Embrace may have won this debate handily. Mysterio was, alongside BWL, a major part of Embrace's wincon argument, and proving his antics would work on Ame's team was, IMO what makes or breaks the overall debate here. I particularly liked how Embrace laid out examples that were implicitly impressive so that when resistances were brought up by Ame, those arguments could be taken down in short order with the same feats and just slightly more context.
- Ame predictably opens with Batman esoterics, something Embrace did well to argue against to start with. Granted, what I didn't expect was Ame then carefully deconstructing every example Embrace did of Batman being a buffoon (and why they don't apply to the fight), and their takes on BWL were nearly rock-solid, although the defense of Shang-Chi was fairly lackluster especially in the context of Embrace's "9/10" rebuttal shortly thereafter. I also don't think Mysterio was debated very well by Ame - it didn't seem like they anticipated all these feats to be vs. opponents who, like Ame's team, have meme senses and meme poison resistance, which was made all the more apparent when Ame switched gears into arguing Batman could pick up on the illusions + the illusions hurt Embrace's team too. Overall between the first two responses I'd say it's pretty even - Ame shits on a ton of the BWL arguments while Embrace's Mysterio arguments are still largely in-fact, and Batman was argued well for esoterics.
- Embrace's R2 only felt marginally different from their R1, although the response keeps a solid hold on Mysterio's winconcs while winning some points on both BWL (namely, the visor weakness). Mysterio scaling was also well-defined and despite many of these arguments bordering on OOT Ame only called these out superficially. Overall at this point I feel like not much as moved from Ame's R1; Embrace still has advantages in the same arguments and Ame still has advantages in the same arguments. While much of the in-character rebuttals were well-done and the scans linked all seemed to indicate what Embrace was arguing, Ame tears into this like crazy with their R2 to the point where it makes this response seem much less substantial.
- Ame's R2 defined the match for me. Pulling out the book on Embrace again, pointing out mitigating context with BWL's feats, giving relevant durability feats for everyone but Shang-Chi (who didn't seem to play much of a role in Ame's arguments to begin with). Most importantly Ame had a kickass rebuttal to Embrace's arguments on Batman's in-character actions and made Embrace seem legitimately less knowledgeable on the time. Which leaves Mysterio. I don't think Ame gave a good explaination of how Batman/NW/Shang resist Mysterio's meme gas, however they put forward new arguments that were far more relevant and comprehensible, namely defaulting to Batman's detective skills for illusions + Mysterio fucking over his own team for gas. And the mad lad actually gives all the relevant scans + sourcing for Batman's arsenal having 2+ appearances. That last response really kicked Embrace's arguments in the proverbial nuts and made what were previously well-composed responses look pretty terrible, which says a lot.
