  1. Dream Worker: Well, I suppose we should begin a long time ago. 90 years ago, to be precise. In my universe, of course.
  2. Back when the land was full, when grass expanded as far as the eye could see...
  3. Dark clouds swirled in the sky, lightning and thunder casting a sense of dread on all of the people in the land.
  4. It was a very bad day. And it was about to get worse.
  5.
  6. Dream Worker: Doctus Flanch, very noble and kind, was about to give birth. There was a doctor and everything. Everything was going well, until Aloa Perse burst through the doors.
  7. He was... well, a strange man. Friendly, but strange. He was given the ability to see into the future by the gods. Only a very holy person would be given such abilities, so nobody minded him.
  8. As one would expect, he had dire omens about the future. However, he wasn't sure why.
  9. So, he was babbling about death and destruction - everybody was understandably freaked out by this.
  10. The doctors pushed him out of the room, worried that he would upset Doctus. They thought maybe he had too much to drink or something of the sort. A bad move, in hindsight.
  11. And so, Limus Flanch was born.
  12.
  13. Dream Worker: He was a very nice boy. A friend to all living things. He had a great mother and a great father. He had tons of friends. To him, his life was nothing but the best. Pure. He had an endearing innocence. To say the least, he'd be a bad character in a book. Wouldn't be interesting to read about at all.
  14.
  15. Dream Worker: Outburst forgotten, Aloa Perse became good friends with Limus.
  16. Every day, Limus would go to Aloa's hut, and they'd talk about things, such as Aloa's psychic powers.
  17. It was a good friendship.
  18. Before I go on, I must explain something.
  19. Everybody has their own fatal flaw. Hubris, lack of trust, gullibility... Usually people will overcome these, because they always lead to trouble.
  20. Well, Limus had the misfortune of having two: not having the ability to accept something new, and always trusting the people who were his friends.
  21. These... well, they lead to disaster. Tragedy. But let's not get into that yet.
  22.
  23. Dream Worker: One day, Aloa seemed to remember what had upset him. He started to mutter something in a different language under his breath, creating strange black mist all around him. Limus ran out of the hut, disturbed.
  24. From that day onward, he didn't go to Aloa's hut again, avoiding him on the paths through town. Aloa was perfectly okay with this. In fact, he was relieved.
  25.
  26. Dream Worker: Eventually, at the age of nine, Limus went to school. There, he met people with rather strange powers. Magic.
  27. Of course, Limus didn't understand it, or how it worked. The magicians went to a different school on Tuesday, Thursday, and Sunday, and when they were at his school, they only spoke of their powers, never used them.
  28. One day, Limus decided to skip school on a Thursday and went to look in on the magicians in the other school. There, he saw something that inadvertently drastically altered everybody's lives...
