>"Honey?" A muffled voice came through the door to your home as you stood in the garage.
"Shit, shit, shit." You muttered, standing to your feet and throwing a sheet over the cardboard contraption you had been working on. "Yeah? What's up?" You said loudly, turning to the door.
>The door opened quickly, revealing Natsuki behind it. In her hands, a tray of cupcakes.
>"I was wondering if you were hungry, since you've been out here for a while. Were you cleaning out the car or something?" She said plainly, her gaze turning to the bedsheet ghost behind you.
"Uh, yeah, yeah I was."
>"Right. What's that behind you, then?" She asked, stepping down the stairs into the garage and advancing in your direction.
"Uh... new car? Yeah, it's a brand new car! Don't look though, it's not ready, and it's for you, and it's a-"
>"Anon, that's way too small to be a car." She stopped short, looking up at you as she sat the tray on your workbench.
"... It's the front part of a car?"
>"Right." She grabbed the sheet, and threw it off, revealing the crimson behemoth underneath.
>For a few moments, she stood in awe, and you smiled softly as she appreciated your hard work.
>"Holy shit, dude."
"Right? It's a bit janky, but I was figuring we could use it to cosplay."
>She admired it for a few moments, and then turned to you.
>"We? That thing's way too big for me."
"Right, but check this out." You turned to a smaller sheet, and grabbed it.
>"You said that was a shopvac!"
"Yeah, well, y'know." You pulled it off, revealing a smaller cardboard suit. Picking it up, you turned to her. "You wear this, and that'll complete the pair!"
>"When did you get the time to make both of these?" She asked, immediately beginning to try the suit on.
"You know how I was too sick to go to the last few meetups with the literature club?" You asked, getting into your own suit.
>"You little liar!" She retorted. You could sense she would sock ya one in the arm if she wasn't too busy getting her arms through the holes in her costume.
"It paid off, didn't it?" You asked, turning to her completely in costume and flexing.
>"I guess it did. We'll have to find out the next anime convention and get some tickets! People will love this, especially when we combine!" She excitedly yelled, bouncing up and down in the costume.
"Yeah! ...Combine?"

>Carefully, you entered the doors of the convention center, small oohs and ahs surrounding you.
>"Hey, be more careful! I'm moving a bunch up here, and you almost hit the doorframe!" Natsuki said down to you through the suit, the light from the surface shining down onto your face.
"Well, excuse me, princess! I wasn't exactly thinking of having you on top of my shoulders in this thing when I was first making it!" You huffed, while making a note to walk slower.
>You were lucky to find some PVC that you used to reinforce the shoulders to keep her at least slightly stable, and you did enjoy having her legs as makeshift earmuffs, so you couldn't complain that much.
>Plus, the idea of two costumes combining was really cool, especially with her coming out of the top like the pilot of this mechanical beast. You couldn't dispute that.
>You continued walking forward, your sight slightly obscured by the sheet of black plastic in front of the eyehole you had made.
>And maybe slightly more by the red glasses you insisted on wearing for some reason.
>"Oh, Anon! Anon!"
"Yeah?"
>"Some people want a picture, on your right side!"
>You turned slowly, and saw a few people dressed up as ninjas with their phones out.
>The moment you had waited for. Practiced for. You looked up to Natsuki, who had already taken the decided upon pose, sitting up further with her arms crossed and that defiant smirk on her face.
>With that, you threw your right arm back and your left arm up in a point, taking care not to shake Natsuki too much.
>The ninja horde took their photos, and one came up to get a picture next to you.
>After that one was taken, they turned to you two.
>"Gee, thanks! This has got to be the coolest Gundam cosplay I've ever seen!"
"Gundam?" You asked out loud. Poking your head fully into the large eyehole, you looked at the white-haired cosplayer. "Hey, buddy." You spoke through the plastic
>"Yeah?" They asked.
