- Magic
- In the beginning, there was the World Tree. And with its roots deeply spread through the land of Runera, came forth Mana. Mana, this ethereal shapeless form would become a source, a catalyst for mages across the land. And through Mana, the land was shaped by the Children of Yggdrasil. Rivers, oceans, lakes, mountains, deserts, oasis, arctic lands, all forged into the world through Mana by the Children of Yggdrasil. And once the world was forged and made, the Children returned to the World Tree to write down their magic in Sacred Tomes, passed down through lineages. Those tomes would become the foundation of the many types of magic that would become primary schools of each type. These types were taught in different lands across Runera, some having taught more than one. Over time, the world flourished with the advancements of magic and the aid of science through Alchemy. And it is so, that the core foundations are taught through the land.
- Elemental Magic
- The first four children, gifted in the natural arts, would shape the world through their magic. And it it through this primal form of magic that they commanded the elements at will. The children, quintuplets of the World Tree each had their own unique Elemental Mastery.
- Naramon, Child of Earth. Steadfast, grounded, a mediator. With his mastery of the earth he created mountains and deserts, sculpting the land as Yggdrasil deemed fit. He was the Tree's sculpting tools, laying the ground work as he created continents, plates, and molded the world into its infancy. From the mountainous peaks, the the ever expanding greens of the thick forests and jungles, He watched over the work of his remaining siblings returning to the Tree once their jobs all had been done.
- Azarin, Child of Fire. Bright, ambitious, brave, passionate. With the mastery of fire, he created the sun, heat, light, and gave man in its early years the needed tool of evolution - fire. Much like that of a flame every bright burning, even the sun must bow to make way for night. And so, fulfilled, Azarin returned to the World Tree.
- Sheol, Child of Water. Graceful, calm yet capable of a maelstrom of fury commanded mastery of water. With her magic, she created the vast oceans and sprawling lakes, the babbling brooks and rivers, the waterfalls. She provided man with the essentials of life alongside her brothers and sister, giving them the very water mankind now drinks. When she had completed her task she returned to the World Tree.
- Kazehira, Child of the Wind. free spirited, creative, flighty yet a whirlwind of colors. With her mastery of the wind she breathed life into the world, giving it the air mankind now breathes. With her powers she created the clouds that took up the moisture from the oceans of her sister, sheol and from them, produced rain that quelled the heat of her brother, Azarin and provided nourishment to the fertile soils of Naramon. She created the mist of the mountains, the fog that oft roll through the seaside, and the land. With her work done, she returned to the World Tree.
