  1. Update: Just change rule to "Inflicting non-super effective damage is not allowed." (Poison moves/abilities do not inflict damage; they inflict status.)
  2.
  3. - Main Nidoking
  4. - Skip Geodude (Poison Point Voltorb)
  5. - Mt. Moon optionals: Bug Catcher, Bug Catcher, Lass, Hiker (maybe more for more efficient split with Metapod)
  6. - Split exp. on Zubat (skip if L7 Nido), Grimer and Koffing (this gives L16)
  7. - Use Butterfree for Poison types
  8. - Get rid of Peck so you can keep Rock Tomb for Rock Tunnel + Rocket Hideout
  9. > Peck/Thief/Rock Tomb/Double Kick
  10. > Peck/Thief/Rock Tomb/Double Kick
  11. > Water Pulse/Thief/Rock Tomb/Double Kick
  12. > Water Pulse/Thief/Dig/Double Kick
  13. > Water Pulse/Thief/Shock Wave/Double Kick
  14. > Surf/Thief/Shock Wave/Double Kick
  15. > Surf/Thief/Shock Wave/Blizzard
  16. > Surf/Dig/Brick Break/Blizzard
  17. > Surf/Dig/Megahorn/Blizzard
  18. > Surf/Mimic/Megahorn/Blizzard
  19. > Mimic/Megahorn/Blizzard/empty (Move Deleter Surf)
  20. > Mimic/Megahorn/Blizzard/Earthquake
  21. - Catch high-level Spearow/Doduo for Lavender Tower Ivysaur (Fly 2HKO)
  22.
  23. HARD FIGHTS:
  24. - L16 Nidorans on Nugget Bridge (especially with bad Speed Butterfree)
  25. - S.S. Anne Rival (especially with bad Speed)
  26. - Misty (especially with bad Sp. Atk/Sp. Def/Speed; Oddish is a good backup)
  27. - Lavender Rival (Butterfree 4HKO)
  28. - Koga (L19-20 Gastly; not too bad with good stats)
  29. - Lorelei (Ice Beam 2HKOs Zapdos)
  30. - Champion (need to do Thunder Wave or Extremespeed manip on Arcanine, or Revive if stats/HP don't allow it)
  31.
  32. ALL SETUP FIGHTS:
  33. - Surge: X Acc, Dig x3
  34. - Koga: Lead slave, Guard Spec., X Defend x2, X Speed, X Special x3, Psychic, Psychic+Psychic+Psychic, Psychic, Psychic+Psychic
  35. - Erika: Blizzard, X Acc, Blizzard x2
  36. - Silph Rival: X Special x3, SW, Thief, SW, Surf, Blizzard
  37. - Silph Giovanni: Dig, BB+BB, Surf, Surf+Surf
  38. - Sabrina: X Speed, Megahorn x3, send in Zapdos, Drill Peck
  39. - Blaine: X Special x2, Surf x4
  40. - Giovanni 3: Surf, X Special, Surf x4
  41. - Viridian Rival: Guard Spec., X Speed, X Acc, (X Special), Blizzard, Megahorn, Surf, (send in Zapdos), Thunder, (send in Nidoking), Surf, Blizzard+Blizzard(+Blizzard) (Zapdos Drill Peck if Nidoking dies)
  42. - Lorelei: X Special, X Acc, Thunder x3, (send in Nidoking), Megahorn, (send in Zapdos), Thunder
  43. - Bruno: Blizzard x2, (send in Zapdos), Drill Peck, X Attack x2, X Speed, Drill Peck x2
  44. - Agatha: X Speed, X Attack x3, X Special, Mimic Shadow Punch, Shadow Punch x3, Blizzard, EQ
  45. - Lance: Thunder, (send in Nidoking), X Special x2, X Acc, Blizzard x4
  46. - Champion: Guard Spec., X Speed, X Acc, X Special x2, Blizzard, Megahorn, Blizzard, (send in Zapdos), Thunder Wave, Surf+EQ, Blizzard+Blizzard (Drill Peck if Nidoking dies)
  47.
  48. CANDY/EXP ROUTING:
  49. - Mt. Moon candy: L9-->10 Metapod
  50. - Cerulean candy could be L15-->16, and you'd want to give 200 exp. to Metapod to avoid wasting it (need ~300 extra exp. to get L16)
  51. - L16-->17 candy doesn't have many benefits
  52. - Main early-game levels are L24/25 Kadabra and L25/26 Starmie
  53. - Gentleman X Attack saves a turn on Martha, but fight is too slow because of Intimidate and Roar
  54. - Fight Butterfree optional
  55. - Beedrill optional generally doesn't save turns in Rock Tunnel, so it's not worth it
  56. - Need high L40 or very low L41 for Silph Rival (can get this with early Erika + L15-->16 Rival 2 and L23-->24 Rival 3 candies)
  57. - Get Gastly to L20 (consider L19):
  58. > L17 Gastly should fight 2 Gastlies, 2 Zubats + Koffing (loses ~2425 exp.)
  59. > L18 Gastly should fight all 3 Zubats + Koffing (loses ~1750 exp.)
  60. > L19 Gastly should fight last Zubat + Koffing (loses ~900 exp.)
  61. - 3 candies are available for late game (all are slow)
  62. - Bad Sp. Atk/Speed Nidos want L48/L49 for Giovanni 3
  63. - Bad Speed Nidos want L50/51 for Lorelei
  64. - Many Nidos want L54/55/L56 for Champion (Arcanine)
  65.
  66. FIRE BLAST ROUTE:
  67. - Get L39 for Juggler
  68. - Blaine --> Silph --> Erika --> Power Plant
  69. - (You get L40 for Arcanine and L43 midway through Silph Giovanni)
  70.
  71. BLAINE
  72. fire blast/thief/shock wave/surf
  73. ERIKA
  74. SILPH RIVAL
  75. ROCKET
  76. brick break/dig/shock wave/surf
  77. SILPH GIOVANNI
  78. megahorn/dig/shock wave/surf
  79. SABRINA
  80. BLACKBELT
  81. COOLTRAINER
  82. GIOVANNI 3
  83. megahorn/mimic/shock wave/surf
  84. VIRIDIAN RIVAL (Drill Peck Venusaur)
  85. LORELEI
  86. BRUNO
  87. megahorn/mimic/earthquake/surf (Thunder Golbat)
  88. AGATHA
  89. megahorn/blizzard/earthquake/surf
  90. LANCE
  91. CHAMPION
  92.
  93. PROS:
  94. - Fire Blast acc in Erika's gym
  95. - Fire Blast acc on Silph Rival
  96. - Surf Bruno instead of Blizzard
  97. - Don't delete Surf and do 2 extra flies
  98. - Slightly better Viridian Rival
  99.
  100. CONS:
  101. - Early Blaine (possibly not a con because of badge boost)
  102. - Teach Fire Blast
  103. - No Blizzard for Cooltrainer Nidoqueen
  104.
  105. -----
  106.
  107. Rules are somewhat difficult to make; central question is whether Poison Point should be banned. Allowing Poison Point seems reasonable since it is unintentional damage; however, it allows cheesing the Voltorb in Mt. Moon to save time leveling up Geodude. Thus, the ruleset could be "must use at least 1 super-effective move on every Pokemon that is defeated." This could still allow some cheesing with Toxic, but it likely wouldn't be worth it.
  108.
  109. All of this is in addition to the main rule: "Moves that have the potential to cause non-super effective damage are not allowed."
  110.
  111. -----
  112.
  113. (buy 3 bb tms and 1 dig tm)
  114. (time save: late lavender rival + skip rock slide + faster lavender rival)
  115. (time loss: 2 extra tm buys/teaches + less money + slower rocket hideout)
  116. peck/thief/dk/wp (from rock tunnel) -->
  117. peck/thief/DIG/wp -->
  118. peck/thief/BB/wp -->
  119. peck/thief/SW/wp -->
  120. BB/thief/sw/wp -->

  125. blizz/mimic/megahorn/EQ
  126.
  127. -----
  128.
  129. Nidoking route:
  130. - Catch Nidoran-M instead of Mankey
  131. - (Still need Geodude)
  132. - (Still need Oddish)
  133. - (Still catch Zapdos)
  134. - Skip any unnecessary exp. on Spearow (give some of it to Caterpie/Metapod on Route 3)
  135. - Skip Jolteon
  136. -----
  137. Bulbasaur: Die
  138. ***CATCH SPEAROW***
  139. ***CATCH CATERPIE***
  140. Weedle: Spearow (Peck)
  141. (Split exp. in forest to get L7 Bubble)
  142. (Skip minion)
  143. Brock: Squirtle (Bubble) (split exp. with Caterpie)
  144. Route 3: Spearow (Peck) (split exp. with Caterpie)
  145. ***CATCH NIDORAN-M***
  146. ***CATCH GEODUDE***
  147. (Level up Caterpie (L10), Geodude (L16) and Nidoran (L16) in Mt. Moon ... rely mostly on trainers, but fight wilds too and don't Repel)
  148. > Split exp. with Nidoran on last Super Nerd
  149. - Candy Geodude or Nidoran to L16 (doesn't matter which)
  150. - Peck/Thief/Rock Tomb/Double Kick (through Route 9)
  151. > Kills everything except NB3 Sandshrew (Squirtle Bubble), NB3 Ekans, Rocket Ekans and 4 Nidorans (Geodude Magnitude)
  152. - Peck/Thief/Water Pulse/Double Kick (through Rock Tunnel)
  153. > Kills everything except 2 Rock Tunnel Pidgeys

  155. - Brick Break/Thief/Rock Slide/Water Pulse (for Rocket Hideout first 2 Rockets)
  156. - Brick Break/Thief/Dig/Water Pulse (for Rocket Hideout final 3, Surge and Channelers/Marowak)
  157. - Brick Break/Thief/Dig/Shock Wave (for top of Lavender Tower and Juggler)

  160. - Blizzard/Thief/Dig/Shock Wave (for Erika + Silph Rival + Rocket)
  161. - Blizzard/Thief/Dig/Brick Break (for Silph Giovanni)
  162. - Blizzard/Mimic/Dig/Megahorn (for Sabrina through Viridian Gym; use Zapdos for Venomoth and Blackbelt)
  163. - Blizzard/Mimic/Earthquake/Megahorn (for E4; use Zapdos for 4/5 Lorelei, 3/5 Bruno, 0/5 Agatha, 1/5 Lance, 1/6 Champion)
