  19. Newly replaced wooden stairs descend down into a clean, welcoming basement. One of those lift chairs have been built along the railing to make the steep slope handicap accessible. The basement is a little on the cool side and the walls are left to the bare brick. The lighting is pleasantly soft with warm circles of light instead of harsh fluorescents. A large, round table has been set up in the middle of the room with 13 chairs around the perimeter, but room enough for more. There is also a couch and a TV, a small washer and dryer in a closet off on one end, a little kitchen area with a small stove, and of course the smell of coffee wafts down constantly. There is a dumb-waiter built in against one of the kitchen walls to transport food - or whatever - up and down from above. Against one wall is a bright red phone booth. There is one entire room dedicated to a communal library.

Let me get this meeting out of the way and I'll bring us all some dinner." She looks up as she hits the bottom stairs. "Afternoon. What's up?"

  46. Stella enters comes down the stairs with large ledger in a tote bag. Stella speaks frankly, "I was wondering if you were taking apprentices. I think Hayden may be a good fit for you."

  268. Newly replaced wooden stairs descend down into a clean, welcoming basement. One of those lift chairs have been built along the railing to make the steep slope handicap accessible. The basement is a little on the cool side and the walls are left to the bare brick. The lighting is pleasantly soft with warm circles of light instead of harsh fluorescents. A large, round table has been set up in the middle of the room with 13 chairs around the perimeter, but room enough for more. There is also a couch and a TV, a small washer and dryer in a closet off on one end, a little kitchen area with a small stove, and of course the smell of coffee wafts down constantly. There is a dumb-waiter built in against one of the kitchen walls to transport food - or whatever - up and down from above. Against one wall is a bright red phone booth. There is one entire room dedicated to a communal library.

I could Hermetic him over the head with book after book like a lot of us do, or make him sing scales all day long while he makes potions from a recipe, but I can't teach that way. If we can't agree on a goal, then there's no point." She glances up at V again and gives her the mommest mom look anyone (other than Eloise) can pull off. She DOES have a five year old afterall. "Okay. You. You are a human imbued with magic. Own your power. Don't let it own you. This is probably one of the safest places in Prospect. TALKING about vampires isn't going to HURT you and you should probably learn about the assholes ANYWAY. You can leave if you want, but quit the back and forth dance of should I stay or should I go. No one wants to hold people's hand and make sure that they're all comfy snug. Come down and learn something or go sit at the top of the stairs and watch, or just leave, but being a timid little mouse is detrimental to you and to everyone around you."

From a safe distance she watches; with her knees pulled up to her chest and the mug of hot whatever resting on her knees she seems a bit more content from the distance.

The basement is a little on the cool side and the walls are left to the bare brick. The lighting is pleasantly soft with warm circles of light instead of harsh fluorescents. A large, round table has been set up in the middle of the room with 13 chairs around the perimeter, but room enough for more. There is also a couch and a TV, a small washer and dryer in a closet off on one end, a little kitchen area with a small stove, and of course the smell of coffee wafts down constantly. There is a dumb-waiter built in against one of the kitchen walls to transport food - or whatever - up and down from above. Against one wall is a bright red phone booth. There is one entire room dedicated to a communal library.

  798. Newly replaced wooden stairs descend down into a clean, welcoming basement. One of those lift chairs have been built along the railing to make the steep slope handicap accessible. The basement is a little on the cool side and the walls are left to the bare brick. The lighting is pleasantly soft with warm circles of light instead of harsh fluorescents. A large, round table has been set up in the middle of the room with 13 chairs around the perimeter, but room enough for more. There is also a couch and a TV, a small washer and dryer in a closet off on one end, a little kitchen area with a small stove, and of course the smell of coffee wafts down constantly. There is a dumb-waiter built in against one of the kitchen walls to transport food - or whatever - up and down from above. Against one wall is a bright red phone booth. There is one entire room dedicated to a communal library.

If we can't agree on a goal, then there's no point." She glances up at V again and gives her the mommest mom look anyone (other than Eloise) can pull off. She DOES have a five year old afterall. "Okay. You. You are a human imbued with magic. Own your power. Don't let it own you. This is probably one of the safest places in Prospect. TALKING about vampires isn't going to HURT you and you should probably learn about the assholes ANYWAY. You can leave if you want, but quit the back and forth dance of should I stay or should I go. No one wants to hold people's hand and make sure that they're all comfy snug. Come down and learn something or go sit at the top of the stairs and watch, or just leave, but being a timid little mouse is detrimental to you and to everyone around you."

  1522. Newly replaced wooden stairs descend down into a clean, welcoming basement. One of those lift chairs have been built along the railing to make the steep slope handicap accessible. The basement is a little on the cool side and the walls are left to the bare brick. The lighting is pleasantly soft with warm circles of light instead of harsh fluorescents. A large, round table has been set up in the middle of the room with 13 chairs around the perimeter, but room enough for more. There is also a couch and a TV, a small washer and dryer in a closet off on one end, a little kitchen area with a small stove, and of course the smell of coffee wafts down constantly. There is a dumb-waiter built in against one of the kitchen walls to transport food - or whatever - up and down from above. Against one wall is a bright red phone booth. There is one entire room dedicated to a communal library.

If we can't agree on a goal, then there's no point." She glances up at V again and gives her the mommest mom look anyone (other than Eloise) can pull off. She DOES have a five year old afterall. "Okay. You. You are a human imbued with magic. Own your power. Don't let it own you. This is probably one of the safest places in Prospect. TALKING about vampires isn't going to HURT you and you should probably learn about the assholes ANYWAY. You can leave if you want, but quit the back and forth dance of should I stay or should I go. No one wants to hold people's hand and make sure that they're all comfy snug. Come down and learn something or go sit at the top of the stairs and watch, or just leave, but being a timid little mouse is detrimental to you and to everyone around you."

She has a name (the one on the busines license for the Biograph that Balance got) and she knows that he likely havened there. I would like to begin by confirming he sleeps there by monitoring the place via Correspondence. Once the location of his lare is determined she'll use some magic to dump him ino the Egyptian desert during the day

  1812. "As far as the bond goes, that is a mischaracterization," Stella replies professionally. "Appropriate measures were taken. The matter is settled now." She moves on, changing the topic. "Hayden isn't formally my apprentice but I have shown him a few things. Think of him as in the application process for apprenticeship." (repose)

  1814. "Was it? The conversation we had was in May. THere are only three ways to stop a bond. Time and Distance, Death of the Bloodsucker, or Magic. Which was it?" Curiosity more than accusation. "And I am a little disappointed, honestly, that you weren't more up front with me. You told me it was all about education, when I asked you straight up if this was something you were trying to deal with." STILL no accusation. Typhanie is just very up front. She takes a breath and looks back to Hayden. "So you're vampire free. Was your association with the vampire willing? I don't mean the bond. I just mean hanging out with them."

They aren't ALL total dicks, but with your history, you can't do it. It would be too easy to fall back into it and start the whole thing over again."
  1824. Hayden nods "As far as I know my life is vamp free. I was warned off a nightclub by Stella and some other friends so I stopped hanging out there. Mostly, I go to school, sing at the Casino and hangout upstairs. I have a special spot on the beach I am fond of too."

Pretty high up on the food chain as far as their slaves go. If that's the casino you work at, I'd consider changing jobs, because that's pretty much right in the center of things, or used to be."

"I'm not getting straight answers from your semi-mentor, which makes me wonder what's REALLY up here. And if you aren't even willing to say 'Okay, well, it might take some time, but I will'... I've been there. I've been right there in your shoes. I was pretty closely entangled with the vampires for a while. I got out and I did better. If you want to do that, give me a call and we'll talk on our own sometime. I don't have the time or inclination to try to worm information out of people or try to talk them into things. So call me if you change your mind." Then she's heading toward the steps, moving to the opposite side where V is so she can pass.

  1846. Hayden says "I would open my hole in the wall club but that takes resources. Any big cultural entity might have undesirable fingers in it. So I can't sing opera or anything like that."

I got clean, managed to get my head out of my ass enough to go to school, lived off student loans. Became an accountant and made enough money to scrape by. Did what I had to do. Look at me now. I live in a house on 47 acres in the middle of nowhere with no one to bug me. My 'job' is writing songs for people too fucking famous and lazy to do it themselves. I have a family and we can do whatever we want to. I did that, all by myself. Go work at McDonald's. Start there. Night guys."

I need to be able to go to school, do my voice work and eat. Instead of walking away, help me try to figure things out."
