BASIS FOR THE IMPEACHMENT OF DONALD J TRUMP, SITTING PRESIDENT

DT in a private conversation with James Comey = acting FBI director.
DT asks that he  "needs loyalty" from Comey.  Comey gives a
non-committal reply.
DT fires Comey from his position in the FBI on 9 may, 2017.
While firing FBI directors is a constitutional power of the POTUS, it is
assumed that this firing was made with the intent to cover up
investigation into crimes.
This crime is  called Obstruction of Justice.

(2.)
DT attempts to halt the investigation of Foreign interference by Special
COunsel led by Special Prosecutor Robert Mueller.
This halting never manifests.  It is assumed that the attempt to halt
the investigation was an attempt to thwart the investigation of crimes.
This crime is Attempted Obstruction of Justice.
