  1. - The community is set in mushroom forest
  2. - Well, on a volcano in a mushroom forest
  3. - Or rather, on a boat which is floating on a volcanic hot spring ... within a mushroom forest
  4. - We have lots Extreme Hot Water Clams
  5. - But not much in the way of Unobtanium, Cheese, Bones, Tools
  6.
  7. SPRING:
  8.
  9. Week 1:
  10. - The Community finds a nuke, which is leaking horrible and mutating radiation. So we throw it into the volcano.
  11. - We have also discovered there are UNICORNS in the mushroom forest! Unfortunately, they have a taste for human flesh
  12.
  13. Week 2:
  14. - Let me known that those with the highest status in our community are those who can dive for Extreme Hot Water Clams; to gain inclusion into this esteemed group, you must prove yourself by diving for clams without any gear.
  15. - We held a discussion about the blood thirsty unicorns. We've considered killing the unicorns (before they kill us), leaving them alone (as dealing with unicorns is a dangerous folly), or diverting their appetite to something else (clams perhaps?)
  16.
  17. Week 3:
  18. - The most hideous thing in this area is a hideous, giant, fungus monstrosity that looks like a toe, which lingers to the north.
  19. - We've begun to experiment to see if Unicorns will eat offerings of clams, to sate their hunger for human flesh. This should take about two weeks.
  20.
  21. Week 4:
  22. - A young boy digs in the ground and discovers the hideous, rotting corpse of some kind of tentacles creature, near the beach of our hot springs.
  23. - We have discovered that there is a community of cannibalistic cultists that engage in human sacrifice
  24.
  25. Week 5:
  26. - Let it be known that we believe our Extreme Hot Water Clams to be gifts from our Volcano Gods
  27. - We have discovered that the unicorns do INDEED love our Extreme Hot Water Clams. It seems we can sate their hunger by leaving out offerings in the forest.
  28. - We have discovered that SOMETHING is living under the volcano.
  29.
  30. Week 6:
  31. - Two of your youths have fought! It seems there is friction between Those That Dive for Clams, and those that do not.
  32. - We have begun a 6-week project to domesticate the Unicorns, now that we know of their love of clams!
  33.
  34. Week 7:
  35. - A terrible storm has sunk our boat! Luckily, no one was lost, but we have lost much
  36. - We've begun a 2 week project to set up a town on the shore of our spring
  37.
  38. Week 8:
  39. - We've had a persistent problem with flying Barracudas. They come in great schools, and prey upon our people.
  40. - We discussed the loss of our boat. Some believe it was punishment from the Volcano God for the infighting between our peoples; some agree, while others have said blasphemous things, such as wanting to destroy the Volcano Gods.
  41.
  42. Week 9:
  43. - We've been storing our food in tents near the lake. This is attracting predators, and is becoming a problem.
  44. - We get some tents up. They're shoddy, but they'll do for now.
  45. - We've begun to salvage the remains of our boats. It's hard labor, and may take up to three weeks.
  46.
  47. Week 10:
  48. - We found a castle; apparently it's where the giant toe-fungus mutant lives.
  49. - We discussed the flying barracudas. We've considered finding their nest, so we may exterminate them! We suspect they may live near the tar pits.
  50.
  51. Week 11:
  52. - A bad omen! Smoke is bollowing out from the Volcano, every day at noon. The black billowing clouds end as suddenly as they begin.
  53. - Discussion about whether to move into the castle. Some are in support of this idea, while others fear and loathe being near the hideous toe monster.
  54.
  55. Week 12:
  56. - Kids are not being born to us lately, perhaps due to the radiation. This is a shame, as children are the only ones we can send safely into the forest to forage, as their small size lets them elude the barracudas, unicorns, and other predators with ease.
  57. - The unicorns are tamed! They are happy with their diet of clams, and will let us ride them.
  58. - Sadly, salvaging the boat did NOT go very well. Other than some rotted wood, we got little to show for our efforts.
  59. - We've discovered a man that strides out of the volcano at noon! He claims to be Volcano God made flesh. His name is Gary.
  60.
  61. Week 13:
  62. - A charismatic young woman has taken the title as High Priestess of the Toe Monster. She wants us to sacrifice Gary to the tar pits. We expel her from the community for her blasphemy!
  63. - We've discovered that the cultists to the north west are the ones controlling the flying barracudas.
  64.
  65. ---
  66.
  67. SUMMER:
  68.
  69. Week 1:
  70. - We have discovered a strange cave to the north east; strange, twisted howling can be heard coming from deep within.
  71. - We have begun a 3-week project to reinforce our tents using mushrooms, to protect ourselves from predators
  72.
  73. Week 2:
  74. - The brother of the young woman has left our community to find proof that Gary is indeed a false idol.
  75. - We have begun a 4-week project to explore the howling cave
  76.
  77. Week 3:
  78. - Summer is fleeting! (8 & 9 are out)
  79. - These cultists to the northwest have been left alone too long! We must ride our unicorns into battle, and fight them and their barracudas! (1 week project)
  80. - We discover weapons and old bones in the tar pits. Hrmph...
  81.
  82. Week 4:
  83. - Gary goes missing! Where'd he go, man?
  84. - The battle against the cultists is long and bloody, with casualties on both sides. We manage to destroy the evil altar which they use to control the barracudas. Some cultists get away however, perhaps to fight another day.
  85. - Also! Using mushrooms as building materials was surprisingly easy. Great success.
  86. - We discuss Gary's disappearance. Perhaps he disappeared back into the volcano; or the priestess' brother murdered him. Some think it's no coincidence he disappeared so soon after the bones rose in the tar pits.
  87.
  88. Week 5:
  89. - A traveling merchant comes to our settlement. He deals in tools, which we lack, so he is well recieved! The problem is, he wants cheese...which we lack.
  90. - A new project is initiated to produce cheese to trade this man on his next return, in 3 weeks.
  91.
  92. Week 6
  93. - We've begun planting mushrooms for food! In about 2 weeks, they should be ready
  94. - We've found a group of moderately intelligent and possibly friendly were-badgers in the howling cave.
  95. - We've discussed the castle; perhaps we should fight the heretics that have taken residence there, and take the castle for ourselves!
  96.
  97. Week 7
  98. -The Soil is surprisingly fertile and the mushrooms grow surprisingly fast, and finish production. They not only grow fast, but are delicious and nutritious. We will life well off of these.
  99. -Given the recent conflict a salvage operation to gather the weapons floating in the tar pit is launched which will take two weeks
  100. -The expedition to the cave returns, it is inhabited by werebadgers who howl at the moon. However they are moderatly smart and open to trade
  101.
  102. Week 8
  103. -Toe-ists, followers of the Priestess of the Toe, demand to be heard and are dissatisfied with oppression by the followers of Gary. They want the castle to be left alone.
  104. -The Toe-ists have begun a pilgrimage to the castle and will arrive in 2 weeks.
  105. -Our initial trials in unicorn cheese have proved lackluster. However, due to the novelty that IS unicorn cheese, the merchant has provided us with some shoddy farming tools.
  106.
  107. Week 9
  108. -The salvaging of weapons goes well and several swords along with a number of harpoon guns are recovered
  109. -start a 4 week project to locate the one true prophet Gary
  110.
  111. Week 10
  112. - The patriarch of our community was found slain in his bed this morning with a tar covered dagger shoved into his chest.
  113. - We have begun an investigation to find the murderer. (4 weeks)
  114.
  115. ---
  116. FALL
  117. Week 1:
  118. - (Gary Project USURPED)
  119. - We have discovered that the flying barracudas are even MORE bloodthirsty now that they have been freed from the cultist's grip; the flying swarms make going out during dawn and dusk impossible.
  120.
  121. Week 2:
  122. -The investigation into the murder has failed, the culprit is unknown but likely the murderer
  123. -It's discovered that the Toe Monster provides his followers with cable TV
  124.
  125. Week 3:
  126. -The Nuke has activated! The Volcanists believe it will explode unless the Toe-ists provide blood sacrifice! They lead a 2 week project to gather a sacrifice from the toe-ist.
  127. -The Were-badgers have invented s'mores. They want to share them with us. How nice!
  128.
  129. Week 4:
  130. - Watermelons harvested, now abundant
  131. - Neither hide nor hair has been seen of Gary since his disappearance; that is until his ornate, volcano-embroidered shroud mysteriously floats up from the tar pits.
  132. - We start to shore up the houses against the coming winter with even more mushroom insulation
  133.
  134. Week 5:
  135. - Last week, we found Gary's robe. This week, we discovered the remains of his body, amongst the were-badgers. We learn that they were making smores from his remains.
  136. - Things are tense between The Garyists and the Toe-ists as the Toe-ists refuse to give up a sacrifice. The Nuke is still armed and dangerous.
  137. - We had a discussion on whether or not to punish the werebadgers for slaying Gary and feeding him to us. Feelings were mixed, maybe this was Gary's plan all along.
  138.
  139. Week 6
  140. - A gang of a dozen or so marauders has entered our territory. They are armed with machine guns and highly dangerous.
  141. - We start a 2 week project to go to war with the Toe-ists! We will take their castle by force if need be!
  142.
  143. Week 7
  144. -The Champion clam diver dies in a freak accident where his own clam gathering skills have caused him to be crushed under a deluge of clams
  145. -An ambush is being planned to take care of the marauders, which will take 3 week
  146.
  147. Week 8
  148. - Disease sweeps through the forest, but the Volcanists do not take heed. They keep fighting, and Health and Fertility become scarce
  149. - The war against the Toe-ists a disaster, as morale was low and we were quite sick. We lose dozens in our attack against the Toe-ists, and are turned away with little to show for it.
  150. - Also, a concerned detective begins investigating a link between the deaths of the old man and the scuba diver.
  151.
  152. Week 9:
  153. - Gary miraculously returns to the community even after his death
  154. - He starts to rally the people and organize them to restore the health and fertility of the community (4 week project)
  155.
  156. Week 10:

  158. - The Ambush goes fairly well, killing all but one of the marauders who has gone to team up with the cultist in their mushroom fortress
  159. - -A research project has been initiated for how to disarm for the nuke. (2 weeks)
  160.
  161. Week 11:
  162. - Ash and smoke kill many of our people as we scramble to protect our supplies
  163. - We discover the wandering merchant has a device for disabling a nuclear weapon! The catch is, he wants toe cheese for it.
  164. - We discuss what should we done about the Toe-ists; some consider converting, while others wish to turn the might of Gary upon them
  165.
  166. Week 12
  167. -A breakthrough has been made when it is discovered the old man was killed with a tar clam
  168. -It is discovered that the Toe Worshippers have trained the flying barracuda to protect the castle and change the channel on the Toe Monster for them when they don't feel like getting up to do it themselves
  169.
  170. Week 13
  171. -Gary organized us and quarantines those who were diseased ridding us of the disease and raising up our health and fertility
  172. -Horrors! The Were-badgers have infiltrated human society! We don't know who is or is not a Badger.
  173. -We commenced a discussion about how to root out this badgery evil, and decided to devise a test and a stake-out to see if the badgers are allergic to clams, or if they're working for the Wizard in the mushroom castle.
  174. --------------
  175.
  176. WINTER
  177.
  178. Week 1:
  179. - The pitch black smoke from the volcano is replaced with brilliant white smoke
  180. - We begin a 6-week project to root out those badgers!
  181.
  182. Week 2:
  183. - The harsh, cold winter has killed all the extreme hot water clams. All of them.
  184. - It's begun to snow, and as usual, the mushrooms are starting to glow with photoluminescent colors
  185.
  186. Week 3:
  187. - The Unicorns and children are crying and wailing! We don't really know why
  188. - We have begun a 2-week project to steal Toe cheese from the Toe-ist fortress
  189.
  190. Week 4:
  191. -With the loss of clams fearmongering among the tribe has taken hold and the people turn against the unicorns before they can turn feral again
