  1. >It is great to have some company around here.
  2. >Not the common one whereas you would get a friend to chat, but an actual roommate!
  3. >Although he may be some sort of alien, but a very docile one.
  4. >It’s hard to admit that he is otherworldly, but it is great to know that he isn’t lethal in any way.
  5. >Such a shame that his kind are deviants, corrupted for their own needs or pleasure.
  6. >You just wonder how—
  7. >”Flutters, how’s the chicken coop?”
  8. “I’m just finishing up in here.” You say while placing fresh hay over the ground. “There.”
  9. >”That’s great! I might need some help with Harry over here!”
  10. >You walk outside of the chicken coop to see Anon scrubbing Harry in a small bathtub.
  11. >He is scrubbing Harry’s head with one head while scrubbing an arm with the other.
  12. “Oh Anon.”
  13. >You help him by rinsing off the suds off of Harry and start again.
  14. “We go from top to bottom while going clockwise or counterclockwise.” You narrate when squirting shampoo into Harry’s fur.
  15. >In a few minutes, the two of you rinse Harry’s fur one last time and dry him off with a couple of towels.
  16. >You give Harry a hug while Anon rubs his back with his bare hand.
  17. >”Sorry for wasting your time.”
  18. >Once you end the hug, Harry attempts to pat Anon’s back.
  19. >Instead, Anon receives a hard slap and falls to the ground.
  20. >Harry retracts his arm and covers his face in shame.
  21. “Are you alright, Anon?”
  22. >He brushes the grass clippings off of his suit as he gets up.
  23. >”Yes, a bit stained, but I’ll be fine.”
  24. “Don’t worry Harry, it’s not your fault.” You say to reassure Harry’s mistake.
  25. >He shrugs it off and wanders around while you and Anon walk back inside.
  26. >It’s starting to get late, but you head back inside to prepare some dinner.
  27. >Mushroom soup mixed in with some herbs might do it for you and your guest.
  28. >”Hey Flutters.”
  29. “Yes?”
  30. >”I promised to help Pinkie Pie to do some stuff. I’ll see you later tonight?”
  31. >He always does this.
  32. >Once every while, he needs to help out with Pinkie with something.
  33. >You want him to stay around, but he can’t break a Pinkie promise.
  34. “Sure, I’ll try to keep your bowl warm for you.”
  35. >He pats your head and gives you a peck on the cheek before exiting the kitchen.
  36. >”I’ll try to get back early this time!”
  37. >He always makes that statement when he goes out, but he roughly keeps to his word.
  38. >As you hear the front door closes, you grab your bowl of soup and hover into the living room.
  39. >You set it down and start to sip out of it.
  40.
  41. >You set the empty bowl in your sink to grab out a new one.
  42. >You pour in some of the soup inside and wander inside the living room to see your mismatched friend sitting on your couch.
  43. >”Ah, my dear friend Fluttershy, how are you on this lovely day?” Discord
  44. “Why are you here? Our tea party doesn’t start until later this week.”
  45. >”Yes, yes. I know of our arrangement, but I just wanted to check in my old chum.”
  46. >You set the bowl aside on the table and allow him to scoop it up and consume the bowl entirely.
  47. “Well, lately I’ve been doing well. It could have been better.”
  48. >”And how?”
  49. >You sit beside your unstable friend.
  50. >He squirms around to lie on his chest to look at you, showing his undivided attention.
  51. “It’s Anon. He would help out Pinkie Pie every so often for the last few months.”
  52. >”Do you understand why?” He says while tracing his paw against your couch.
  53. “No, I haven’t asked him. I just assume he’s baking some sweets with her.”
  54. >”OR, he baking his sweets in her.”
  55. >You know that was a joke, but it still bothers you.
  56. “I’m not sure, but I know that isn’t the Anon I know.”
  57. >”Come now, we both know where he comes from and what his people are.”
  58. “That’s not him!” You angrily shout.
  59. >He backs away from your outcry.
  60.
  61.
  62. “I’m sorry, but that’s not how he is. He’s unique, different.”
  63. >”Other than being a creature that none of us know where he spawned from?”
  64. “He’s more than that. He has feelings, thoughts to share for others to listen.”
  65. >”And what about me?”
  66. “You aren’t the same. I know who you are, and we can’t change that.”
  67. >He floats off of the couch and raises a finger.
  68. >As Discord opens his mouth, he leaves it there, pondering his actions over the last year.
  69. >”I suppose your right.”
  70. >He sits back down and looks away.
  71. “It’s nothing against you, but we learned that’s how it will be.”
  72. >He gets up, but doesn’t look at you.
  73. >”I understand.”
  74. “But this doesn’t change much. We could still have our tea party later.”
  75. >”Yes, I suppose so.”
  76. >He floats to the door, but stops to turn around.
  77. >”But just remember what I said. Anon isn’t what he seems.”
  78. >He snaps his fingers and vanishes right before your eyes.
  79.
  80. >You are sitting on your couch with another bowl sitting on the table in front of you.
  81. >It has been half an hour after you met your unexpected visitor.
  82. >He doesn’t know what Anon is.
  83. >Anon is more than a human.
  84. >He is nothing like his people.
  85. >Anon is well trusted and self-controlled, he certainly would not go against you.
  86. >Discord is clearly playing with your mind.
  87. >You never seen Anonymous act irrational or ill-mannered.
  88. >He’s always been nice around you and your friends.
  89. >Possibly too nice.
  90. >No, don’t let this get to you.
  91. >Anon would not go against you.
  92. >He isn’t like his kind and you’re sure of it.
  93. >You yawn and start to lie down, while looking at the bowl of soup that is in view of the front door.
  94.
  95. >”Flutters I’m back!”
  96. >You jump up and look around.
  97. >Once you settle back down, Anon closes the door and approaches you.
  98. >”Sorry to leave you like this, I didn’t expect you to wait up.”
  99. >You look at the clock on the wall.
  100. >It is seven minutes before one in the morning.
  101. >Maybe it wouldn’t hurt to finally ask what he is doing.
  102. ”Anon, what we’re you doing?”
  103. >He looks stunned by your question.
  104. >”You know, helping out Pinkie Pie around.”
  105. “I understand, but past midnight?”
  106. >”It’s a lot of work, but the job gets done.”
  107. “That brings up another question; what do you do when you’re gone?”
  108. >He tilts his head to the side and walks around the table.
  109. >”Helping her out with a party later this week.”
  110. “That’s fine.“
  111. >He gives a sigh of relief and sits right beside you to grab the bowl you left for him.
  112. “What’s it for?”
  113. >”What is?”
  114. “The party, what are you celebrating?”
  115. >He takes a sip out of his bowl.
  116. >”I can’t really say.”
  117. “Why not?”
  118. >”It’s a Pinkie Promise, alright?”
  119. >You let out a disappointed sigh.
  120. >”Oh come on.”
  121. “Can you at least tell me about the other times?”
  122. >He sets the bowl down.
  123. >You are able to see that he finished his meal with the empty bowl clearly in view on the table.
  124. >”I can’t.”
  125. “What’s the problem, did you get Pinkie Promised not to tell me that as well?”
  126. >Anon rubs his neck and bites down on his lip.
  127. “I’m feeling a bit neglected, Anon.”
  128. >”Aw, come on.”
  129. “Why are you keeping this all a secret? It can’t be that mush if you’re just helping out my friend.”
  130. >”Then why are you making this a big thing? Just leave it alone.”
  131. >You want to argue, but he does have a point.
  132. >Still, you aren’t letting this go.
  133. “Fine.” You say while crossing your arms.
  134. >”Hey, don’t be like that.”
  135. “I’m just concerned, that’s all.”
  136. >”I’m just helping her out, nothing else.”
  137. “Anon, if it’s work that you’re looking for, you don’t need that here.”
  138. >”It’s not that, Flutters.”
  139. “It just looks like it. You already have everything, a home, food… me.”
  140. >He rubs your back and gives you a smooch on the forehead.
  141. >”I know.”
  142. “Then why are you doing this?” You start to tear up.
  143. >You allow him to hug you and cry on his shoulder
  144. >”I need to do something. I get a bit bothered when I have nothing to do.”
  145. “But… why do you leave me?”
  146. >He backs away to look at you.
  147. >”It’s not like that.”
  148. “You leave me here all by myself while doing who knows what out there!”
  149. >”How do you think I feel!?” He shouts.
  150. >You sit there, unease by his voice.
  151. >”You go out with your friends, while I’m left here to make sure the animals are fine. Sometimes, I’m worried of you will ever come back.”
  152. “Anon, don’t say that.”
  153. >”If you haven’t noticed, this place isn’t exactly peaceful. Dragons, Griffons, greedy dogs that enslave ponies, and don’t get me started on Tirek and Glimmer.”
  154. “We overcome in the end. You know how it is for us.”
  155. >”I know. Sometimes, it feels like forever when you go. I’m just afraid that you would never come back.”
  156. >This time, you are the one to bring him into a hug.
  157. “I would never do that.”
  158. >”And neither would I.”
  159. >After dropping the topic, everything goes peaceful.
  160. >You clean up the dishes and the two of you go to bed in your room.
  161.
  162. >The next morning went out well.
  163. >It was best to leave every bit of what happened last night as if that never existed.
  164. >You did your daily routine of checking in every critter in your home and give them their breakfast.
  165. >Once that was done, you decided to go out into the town with Anon.
  166. >He must be so anxious to leave the cottage and do something with you.
  167. >”I’m happy that we’re finally doing something outside of your home.”
  168. “Remember, it is also your home too.”
  169. >The two of you walk into town to meet up with Twilight.
  170. >She arranges these meet ups to get an update on how Anon is doing.
  171. >There is almost no point to this.
  172. >Anon is a well behaved human.
  173. >”Hey you two!” Twilight calls out from an empty table.
  174. “Hi Twilight.”
  175. >Hello Twilight.”
  176. >You and Anon take a seat as Twilight brings out a notepad and pen.
  177. >”So, how is Anon doing for the past week, Fluttershy?”
  178. >Her pen clicks.
  179. “Oh, the usual; he stays at home when I leave, caters the animals when I’m not there or just to help me. There’s nothing else that comes to mind.”
  180. >”Yoohoo!”
  181. >You turn your attention to a mare in the distance calling out your table.
  182. >She has a wide smile while waiving her hoof around.
  183. >”Uh, is she your friend?”
  184. “No, I don’t—“
  185. >”Excuse me.” Anon announces himself while getting up.
  186. >He goes away from the table to talk to the white mare with velvet colored hair.
  187. >”Fluttershy, I didn’t know Anon had friends.”
  188. “Neither did I.”
  189. >You say in shock.
  190. >”Wait, how could you not know about this?”
  191. “Like I said, he is often in my house to watch the animals or he is under my care.”
  192. >”That sounds like you enclose him from the outside.”
  193. “No I do not. He goes out, sometimes.”
  194. >“Tell me about the times that he isn’t in your house. Where does he go or do?”
  195. “That’s the thing, I’m not completely sure on what he does.”
  196. >You hear Twilight’s pen click.
  197. >”Fluttershy, you don’t think—“
  198. “No! He certainly isn’t!”
  199. >”Between you and me; I respect that the two of you are… more than friends, but you already know what his kind is capable of.”
  200. “He is nothing like them. Anon is more than those uncontrollable beasts.”
  201. >”You may never know. I mean—“
  202. “I know what you meant, but that still doesn’t change on how I see him. You’re no different from Discord.”
  203. >”Hold on, Discord?!”
  204. “Yes, he visited me and said the exact same thing about Anon.”
  205. >”I’d hate to say this, but I’m afraid to side with him on this one.”
  206. ”What?! How could you?”
  207. >”You’re not even sure on what Anon does or even do when he’s gone.
  208. “He visits Pinkie Pie to do some errands. There, are you happy?”
  209.
  210. >”What kind of errands?”
  211. “Can’t we talk about something else? You already know that Pinkie plans parties and bakes cakes, so that’s that.”
  212. >You cross your arms.
  213. >”I’m just saying that there could be more. You’re not even completely sure that he is helping Pinkie out.
  214. ”What are you saying, Twilight?”
  215. >“I’m saying that it could be his alibi.”
  216. >You shake your head.
  217. >”Then go to the main source yourself. Ask Pinkie about it, maybe she could tell you about Anon’s performance.”
  218. >You look over to see Anon is still talking to that mare.
  219. >It looks like he is in some sort of argument with the mare who seems to be disappointed.
  220. >She gives up and walks away.
  221. >”Just keep it in mind, okay?”
  222. >You want to let this go, but there is something that Anon is hiding from you.
  223. >”Sorry about that.” He tries to excuse himself.
  224. “Was that your friend?”
  225. >He sits back right beside you.
  226. >”Well, a friend of Pinkie’s.”
  227. >”So, a client or just a friend?” Twilight joins in.
  228. >”Why are you two making a fuss about it?”
  229. >”It’s just that, overhearing a bit of your performance, you seem to go out to assist Pinkie in something.”
  230. >His hand roll into fists.
  231. >”I just help her out, now can we let this go?”
  232. “Twilight, please.”
  233. >She eyes Anon and his fists.
  234. >”Sure, I’ll be right back to get us some drinks.”
  235. >She tucks her notepad and pen under her wing.
  236. >As she walks away, Anon releases his fingers to press them on the table.
  237. >”You told her?”
  238. “This is about you. We need to keep track of your performance.”
  239. >”So this is it, I’m some lab rat, an animal to be tracked in every little thing?”
  240. “No, no, it’s not that.”
  241. >”Then tell me, what is it?”
  242. >You bring your hooves together.
  243. “You are the only one. We just want to know how you would prefer to live, even though this isn’t how like it was when you were.”
  244. >He brings his arms back to put them in his pockets.
  245. “Please, don’t be like that. We’re just fascinated and we’ll never have this chance again.”
  246. >”So, is that what it is?”
  247. >You scratch your head in confusion.
  248. “What do you mean?”
  249. >”If I wasn’t some sort of alien, you wouldn’t find me interesting?”
  250. “Anon, I don’t—“
  251. >”Is our relationship a lie?”
  252. “No! It certainly isn’t.”
  253. >”Then tell me, why?”
  254. >You look to the floor right beside him, then to his blank face.
  255. “You are the closest person that I’ve ever had. Discord and Rainbow Dash may have been with me more than anyone else, but you’re one that I can see more of.”
  256. >He brings his hand out to rub his shoulder.
  257. “I never could bring myself to stay around another male. It’s just, difficult, until you came. Yes, I saw you as a creature, but you were more than that, you always were. I know that I can’t stand on two legs and have… breasts, yet I still would like to stay with you.
  258. >He stares at the table.
  259. “I know that you miss home some of the time, but you adjusted well here and try to become of use.”
  260. >”Not really.”
  261. >He looks directly at you.
  262. >”I’m happy here, and with you.”
  263. >Anon scratches your ear and rubs your head.
  264. >”And I’ll be honest, I couldn’t care less that you’re… a pony.”
  265. “That never disturbed you?”
  266. >”I was, curious. But I was sure that you were one of a kind.”
  267. >Twilight comes back with a platter holding three light brown drinks.
  268. >”I brought us some cold raspberry iced tea. I sure hope you enjoy it, Anon.”
  269. >He just shrugs as a cup hovers by him.
  270.
  271. >The three of you created some conversation, but it didn’t last long.
  272. >Some were about how you and Twilight stay organized, or about the times that Equestria was in risk.
  273. >Anon would be fascinated, regardless of how many times he heard them all.
  274. >”I should get going. I left Spike to keep the castle clean.”
  275. >”Seeing how big that place is, I doubt he would need to do a lot.”
  276. >”I suppose that’s true, I’ll see you two later.”
  277. >Twililght gets up and walks away.
  278. >”Well, now what?”
