Thieves attempt a massive heist against the U.S. Treasury as a Category 5 hurricane approaches one of its Mint facilities.
If this movie treated itself more like sharknado and be comical it would have probably won awards. But the crutch of this movie is it takes itself way too seriously and the protagonists are beyond lucky to a fault. My question is is that if they had police on their side why didn't they just do an escort? Professionalism? Far from it. They have to rely on the antagonists stupidity to make it work. Granted there's a ton of movies that do that now these days and for some strange reason people humor it with a score of 8-10. Ignorance is bliss seems to become a run of the mill with these movies. Thank heavens I can get them all for free at the comfort of my own home. I know most of these movies nowadays is simply a moneygrab or "its just business." I'll support very few directors for the quality they deliver by going to the movie theatres. Not this garbage.
Not even the (normally) fantastic Toby Kebbell can save this disaster of a film. A few of the most remarkable things about this movie: 1) how bad half of the performances are, 2) the incredible lack of character depth/development, 4) awful writing, and 3) the complete absence of a plot. <br/><br/>Rating: 1/10 - Originally gave 2 stars (1 for the hurricane, 1 for the &quot;heist&quot; - using the term very loosely) but took both away because of how terrible the entire movie was and then realized that unfortunately, it&#39;s not possible to rate a film 0 stars.
In many ways, The Hurricane Heist’s lack of self-awareness regarding just how dated it feels plays to its advantage. If you’re looking for that 1997 big-budget CG showcase experience without the wink-wink self deprecating irony of The Lonely Island or Deadpool, then you should be fairly satisfied with this cinematic time capsule.
