Kid Anon And Mommashy part 15

>Twilight paused for a moment or two to think, and as she thought. She started to realise that saying something to lift your spirits would,in the end, do you no good.
>She decided a more thought out and direct approach was required. She didn't think much of your cowerdice, and wanted to help you move past it. The day itself could be a disaster if you were scared every moment of the visit
>You yourself couldn't pinpoint the source of your fear. But whenever you were out of your comfort zone. you'd feel either upset or scared. You didn't like being put in a position like this. Even when you were with Discord, you didn't calm down around him until you had checked the toys he had offered you before hand, and he had gone to sleep.
>"Anon, you shouldn't be scared of every little thing." Twilight turned around facing away from you as she searched the bookcase for a certain book.
>"I'm not scared of every little thing!...I'm...just....new to everything..." You looked down, even if you were scared of most things. You didn't like being called out on it. You don't remember being such a fraidy cat before, but you didn't remember much of anything prior to appearing in Equestria.
> Twilight let's out an "Aha!" as she magically pulls down a large blue book and start sifting through the pages. "Anon, but you seem to be afraid of EVERYTHING. I'd bet even my assistant would scare you, and he's just a baby dragon"
>Afraid of a baby dragon? Would you be? How was a baby an assistant anyway? You point to yourself and disagree with such a remark.
>Twilight sighed, she wasn't getting anywhere. She had to be more direct. "Anon, the way I see it. You don't know much of anything beyond the cottage. Do other ponies scare you? Tell me the truth, I want to help you."
>You looked down, and squatted onto your butt. You didn't like these questions at all. You were sure you weren't that much of a coward. You stay silent.
>Twilight looked over the book and glanced at you for a moment before looking back to the pages. "hmmm....Is there perhaps some things even back home that scare you?"
>You remain silent.
>Twilight groans, and hovers another book stealthily towards your ear. She opens it and slams it shut. Causing you to fall forward. "WHAT WAS THAT FOR?!".
>"I was just making sure your ears worked, do you want to answer my question now?"
>You angrily told her you wanted to go home. She didn't even bat an eye, and told you if you wanted to leave. You were free to go.
>You huffed, and silently got up and headed to the front door of the castle.
>You open them and peer outside. But you don't take a step outside. Fluttershy wasn't there....and you couldn't remember the way home.
>You tried to convince yourself you could do it on your own, but as you tried, you just found yourself closing the door back up. You were stuck. Damn it....you were stuck....
>You headed back to the library in a defeated shuffle, Twilight was at her desk. Still reading that book. She turned slowly over to you. "Do you want to answer my questions now?"
>You sat down on the floor and crossed your arms. You faced away from Twilight and pouted. "Well...there's this really scary bear that comes around sometimes....and..."
>Twilight walks over to you, the book floating to her side, she moves up enough to look at your face "Annnnnd?"
>You don't look at her, staying your position "And he's scary and stuff....I mean...he's a bear!"
>"What has he done to scare you?" Twilight was genuinely curious to your responses.
>"Well........well.......urm...well...he's big!...and stuff"
>Twilight sighs, even for a child, that to her was a pretty weak excuse "So your entire basis of being afraid of a bear, a bear that never hurts anypony mind you, is because he's big.....and stuff?"
>You nod
>"And you don't see anywhere at all the problem with judging him just based on what he is?"
>You shook your head
>Twilight took a big calming breath and carefully thought out her next words. "Anon, do you realise you're afraid of the bear for absolutely no viable reason other than he's a bear. Didn't you not like it when others judge you for what you are?"
>You stop to think....no...you didn't like it. But...but he was....a big scary bear. You tell Twilight that it doesn't change that fact.
>"Alright then, let's think of it this way then. Has this bear ever done anything at all to scare you? Does it growl? Is it aggressive? Anything?"
>You rub your chin to think......it wasn't any of those things. The bear never once actually tried to hurt anyone. ".....I guess he...hasn't. He never actually does anything bad"
>Finally, Progress! Twilight felt she was finally getting somewhere.
>"Alright then, now, Anon. Can you then tell me any good actual reasons to be afraid of the bear?"
>You took a moment to think, but nothing really came to mind, so you shook your head "no"
>"So don't you think being afraid of the bear is alittle too.....ridiculous?"
>"Yes?" you say in a low voice, causing Twilight to narrow an eye at you "I mean...yes!"
>Twilight wiped her forehead, finally, you were learning. "See, there shouldn't be any reason to be afraid of the bear.....and a bunch of other things really. I mean really, I don't actually scare you, do I?"
>You brought two fingers together to display she had a degree of fearsomeness to you "Alittle...."
>Twilight sighed again, and tried giving you a smile "Well then, let's try to fix that. I like to keep things as casual as possible you know.....like being called by my name...without the Princess part"
> "Al..alright. ummm" You felt nervous, you started to process her words into your head. slowly making sense of it all.
>Suddenly, you realise something. Something that makes you feel lousy. You didn't like the bear because he was a bear. What if ponies didn't like you because you were a human?....you started to feel bad....and you bet that bear felt even worse whenever you actively kept your distance. "Twilight.....am I bad for...hating the bear? Because he was a bear?"
>Twilight sensed remorse in your voice, she looked down upon you as her smile went from victorious to warming. "No Anon, it's just a bad mistake really. You can still fix it."
>You nodded to her "I will! I will fix it!"....the moment the bear came by the cottage again anyway.
>You started to stand as you looked about the library. Twilight started to follow along in your aimless path.
>"Now about being scared, Anon. There are things that can be scary, but really. Ponyville isn't one of them. I bet you'd beable to do alot more things if you set your mind to not being so frightened of everything."
>You thought about that. "Really?.....Like what?"
>Twilight stopped, and raised her hoof "Ah! But how could you if you were scared of everypony? The slightest bit of provocation always seems to make you angry or scared. How could you do it if you couldn't even make the first two steps? You couldn't even leave my castle by yourself"
>You pointed at Twilight, you felt a sense of urgency in answering "That's different! I couldn't let mom or the others suffer! Never ever!"
>"Anon, it's not just about doing it for Fluttershy, it's also good to do it for yourself, to overcome your fears" Twilight's horn started to glow, as the room became hazy.
>You wouldn't stop pointing, you failed to notice that the library was phasing out as Trees started to appear, as the night sky appeared where the ceiling once was. "I could do it for myself too! I'm not a fraidy cat!"
>And with those words, Twilight dissapeared into the incoming mist as a creepy forest appeared all around you.
>You slowly put your arm down as you realised your predicament "W-what gives? Where did all these trees come from?". It looked like they had faces, ghoulish smiles and frowns sorrounded you. The trees looked old and withered.
>Suddenly, you could hear Twilight's voice as if she was right next to you. "They are from the Everfree forest. Pretty scary, huh?"
>You gulped, and backed up "N-no!"
>"No? Well I suppose you're right, they are only trees after all. Anon, just try to remember that, and you'll be fine. You might even find it funny, a friend of mine does, you might know her"
>You tried your best to keep that in mind, slowly murmuring a mantra of "they are just trees". But everywhere you looked, they seemed to be getting closer and closer. You closed your eyes as you said your mantra louder and louder.
>You blindly back into one and panic, yelping in fright as you try to run forward, but....you couldn't. It had you.
>You started yelling for help. You yelled for Twilight, and Fluttershy, Discord, Pinkie....Anypony.
>"Anon!"
>Twilight's yell pierces your ears as you stop struggling, looking around for her. You call out for her.
>But she only giggles
>What, why was she giggling? You were in danger here!
>"Anon, havn't you noticed yet? Look behind you"
>You didn't want to look behind. But....you did. You slowly turned your head to see the ghoulish tree that nabbed you. It scared you for a moment. Until you realised it wasn't moving at all, hell...it seemed you just got caught in it's branches.
>You tapped the branches, no movement. You adjust yourself to get out of the branch's hold and move to the base of the tree and poke it. "It's just a tree"
>You begin to laugh "It's just a tree...."
>You begin to examine the other trees, only to find out the same truth applied to them aswell, you gave yourself a facepalm the moment you realised your foolish folly. "oh boy...I can't believe I was afraid of a bunch of trees..."
>And with that, the forest begins to phase out as you return to the library. Twilight opens her eyes as she sighs, she giggles abit and goes to put away the book. "See? I knew you could do it. Pretty silly to be afraid of a tree, huh?"
>It was, you were supposed to be tough. And yet you started to realize that perhaps you shouldn't be so afraid of everything.
>".....Wow, I really messed up alot...huh?" You felt so foolish now.
>Twilight smiled at you. "Just think of it as a good lesson to keep in mind, also don't try to do anything dangerous either. Sometimes its ok to be afraid, just don't be afraid of everything....I guess the only thing for you now is to put that to practice the first chance you get"
>You nod "Mhmmm, I can show Mom how really brave I am now!"
>Twilight added to your sentence "....without having to do anything dangerous....right?"
>You rubbed the back of your head in embarassment "ohh...heheh...right..."
