  1. 01[17:30] <Artisan_Kiran> 5The first thing that Kiran is going to do is find a chessboard.
  2. [17:31] <SwaDM> Doing so would certainly be easy. Firstly, there is obviously the one set at the main lobby - albeit some quick looking around would have him finding another spare down by the basement of the manor, shuold he so desire.
  3. 01[17:31] <Artisan_Kiran> 5I'll pick the one from the basement, since it's less likely to be used.
  4. 01[17:31] <Artisan_Kiran> 5Now with the chessboard acquired, I'm going to figure out where Adalet is.
  5. [17:32] <SwaDM> Let me just check something...
  6. 06[17:32] * Artisan_Kiran will meander through the manor without knocking over any of the chess pieces.
  7. 04[17:33] <SwaDM> Kiran displays a truly impressive feat of dexterity - yes, that is the only thing he has trained for. Not knock over chess pieces. Naught else. He has already begun his stellar carreer as a butler.
  8. [17:34] <SwaDM> All joking aside however, some further looking would have him locating Adalet over at that same library - with a couple of books set to the side by a small circular table, while he reviews a rather thick tome with a piece of parchment to the side. And yes - it would be at least ,to a certain degree, vaguely amusing to see how someone so armoured has to-
  9. 01[17:34] <Artisan_Kiran> 5Kiran can be whatever he sets his mind to.
  10. [17:34] <SwaDM> - handle turning pages on a book.
  11. 01[17:35] <Artisan_Kiran> 5So, this is just after we found out about the Reveno thing.
  12. [17:35] <SwaDM> I see - so, not much time afterwards?
  13. [17:35] <SwaDM> That's fair - he'd be in the library regardless.
  14. 01[17:36] <Artisan_Kiran> 5The plan was to find some way to help by distracting him. But Adalet seems to process these things differently to Kiran.
  15. 01[17:36] <Artisan_Kiran> 5Poor kid.
  16. 01[17:36] <Artisan_Kiran> 5Anyway!
  17. 06[17:36] * Artisan_Kiran approaches the table.
  18. 01[17:36] <Artisan_Kiran> 5"May I sit?"
  19. 04[17:37] <SwaDM> Adalet quirks his head up, "eyes" briefly gliding along the retrieved chess table, afore focusing back on Kiran. "By all means."
  20. 06[17:37] * Artisan_Kiran sits down, and places the chessboard delicately between the two of them, white turned to Adalet.
  21. [17:37] <SwaDM> His tone sounds decidedly neutral.
  22. 01[17:38] <Artisan_Kiran> 5"I thought you might like a break."
  23. [17:38] <SwaDM> "I've but recently started."
  24. 01[17:39] <Artisan_Kiran> 5"I know."
  25. 04[17:40] <SwaDM> He remains quiet, for the moment, eyes still focusing on Kiran, as if waiting for him to continue.
  26. 06[17:41] * Artisan_Kiran feels significantly out of his depth.
  27. 04[17:42] <SwaDM> *Thankfully*, for Kiran, Adalet does speak, given his sudden silence.
  28. [17:42] <SwaDM> "You are worried."
  29. 06[17:42] * Artisan_Kiran decides to say fuck it and speak his mind.
  30. 01[17:44] <Artisan_Kiran> 5"I don't know how you deal with things like this. So thought doing something you enjoy that takes attention might help."
  31. 01[17:44] <Artisan_Kiran> 5"So I guess yeah. Not worried, really. I'm just checking on you."
  32. [17:44] <SwaDM> "I believe I understand."
  33. [17:45] <SwaDM> He retrieves a small piece of what red cloth, setting marking the page of his tome, afore slowly closing it.
  34. [17:45] <SwaDM> "And I believe you will find I am little different to Lous, in that regard."
  35. 01[17:45] <Artisan_Kiran> 5"Oh?"
  36. [17:46] <SwaDM> "Preparing for righteous retribution is often enough to set my own mind at ease."
  37. 06[17:46] * Artisan_Kiran nods.
  38. [17:46] <SwaDM> "Much like his. Albeit, as you might expect, companionship can be appreciated, from time to time."
  39. 01[17:47] <Artisan_Kiran> 5"That's fair. Well, if you like sometimes it helps to have a sounding board for preparation for righteous retribution."
  40. [17:47] <SwaDM> "Mayhaps, albeit my planning is yet at it's infancy."
  41. [17:47] <SwaDM> He nods towards the table "Shall we?"
  42. 01[17:48] <Artisan_Kiran> 5"Sure. I'm a little rusty, though."
  43. [17:48] <SwaDM> "I am certain you shall do fine."
  44. [17:48] <SwaDM> https://lichess.org/G1h2vLyM
  45. 01[17:48] <Artisan_Kiran> 5Ah, neat! I was just making a game too.
  46. [17:48] <SwaDM> (You're goddamn right you're actually going to play a match)
  47. 01[17:49] <Artisan_Kiran> 5Alright. Let's see how long it takes you to kick my ass.
  48. [17:49] <SwaDM> I haven't played chess in years.
  49. [17:49] <SwaDM> "I've more been concerned about where we might start our assault."
  50. 01[17:50] <Artisan_Kiran> 5And I forgot that you can move other pieces to disrupt line of attack.
  51. 01[17:51] <Artisan_Kiran> 5Man I'm good at this.
  52. 01[17:51] <Artisan_Kiran> 5"What were you considering for the options?"
  53. [17:53] <SwaDM> "The way I see it, we've two options. A direct fontral assault in hopes that it will not be ready for such - or an attempt to move in through the coast of the city - albeit that would take more time - and should we be spotted, it would make said assault far harder to consolidate."
  54. 01[17:54] <Artisan_Kiran> 5"If Reprisal's tactical tendency was to aggression, what do you think the probability is that it would respond with an overcommitment to a distraction?"
  55. [17:55] <SwaDM> "He was agressive - but not mindless. No Raven. Plus, he is...hardly the only thing that has been absorbed by the Void."
  56. [17:55] <SwaDM> "Hoping that only his personality shall be in effect is foolish."
  57. 01[17:55] <Artisan_Kiran> 5"Yes. Raven's in there too."
  58. [17:56] <SwaDM> "And Reveno. There are...far too many R's within him."
  59. [17:56] <SwaDM> "It, even."
  60. 01[17:56] <Artisan_Kiran> 5"Thank goodness for Sandra."
  61. [17:57] <SwaDM> "Still - it is possible a distraction may catch some of it'sa ttention."
  62. 01[17:58] <Artisan_Kiran> 5"If we have the spare capacity for it, then it can't hurt."
  63. 01[17:58] <Artisan_Kiran> 5"We should still have some signal flares."
  64. [17:58] <SwaDM> "The flares will likely do little, if it is growing smarter. A feint may be the better option, if you are hoping for such tactics."
  65. 01[18:00] <Artisan_Kiran> 5"That sounds like a real risk to our group."
  66. [18:00] <SwaDM> "Yes. Which is why you should consider the strategy carefully."
  67. [18:01] <SwaDM> "Overwhelming force, or trickery. We cannot rely on both - we simply do not have the manpower."
  68. 01[18:05] <Artisan_Kiran> 5"How much time would the coastal assault take, and why?"
  69. [18:06] <SwaDM> "Likely half an additional day to circle around. I am hoping that their backlines shan't be as defended as their frontlines - what did you see, when you were there?"
  70. 01[18:07] <Artisan_Kiran> 5OOC, I don't think we swept their back lines.
  71. [18:07] <SwaDM> (You did not.)
  72. [18:07] <SwaDM> (Adalet does not know this.)
  73. 01[18:07] <Artisan_Kiran> 5I just wanted to double-check!
  74. 01[18:08] <Artisan_Kiran> 5"We didn't sweep the backline. We found a stealthy route through to investigate the city centre."
  75. 01[18:08] <Artisan_Kiran> 5"As the walls were still being constructed, I'd hesitate to trust that the route would still be there now."
  76. [18:08] <SwaDM> "I...see. A pity. Then I am not so certain about commiting to a coastal assault, yes."
  77. [18:12] <SwaDM> "What I am having trouble with is equating the current power that the Mimic would have, at this moment..."
  78. 01[18:13] <Artisan_Kiran> 5(Apologies, got a call)
  79. 01[18:13] <Artisan_Kiran> 5"Raven? Well. I've sparred with her a couple of times. I can probably answer some questions."
  80. [18:13] <SwaDM> "I know what to expect form her."
  81. [18:14] <SwaDM> "What you must keep in mind is that the Mimic grows stronge r with time. I am not certain as to how much power it will have."
  82. [18:15] <SwaDM> "It will be Raven. Yes. And it will be *better* then her."
  83. 01[18:15] <Artisan_Kiran> 5"Ah. Well, that I can possibly answer as well. Against myself, Lous, and Raven, along with Rowan - we struggled."
  84. [18:16] <SwaDM> "But you defeated it."
  85. [18:16] <SwaDM> "Only you three - and one nonbeacon."
  86. 01[18:16] <Artisan_Kiran> 5"In a manner of speaking."
  87. [18:16] <SwaDM> "Precisely. That does not sound correct."
  88. [18:16] <SwaDM> "I shall speak plainly."
  89. [18:16] <SwaDM> "You should be dead."
  90. 01[18:16] <Artisan_Kiran> 5"After a certain point in the fight, when it had lost its form, it looked to the north - toward Snowtown, and allowed itself to be defeated."
  91. [18:17] <SwaDM> "..And I am proven correct."
  92. [18:17] <SwaDM> "Hrm."
  93. [18:17] <SwaDM> "Odd."
  94. 01[18:17] <Artisan_Kiran> 5"Yes."
  95. [18:17] <SwaDM> "It has never "allowed" anything, from what we've observed."
  96. 01[18:18] <Artisan_Kiran> 5"Allowed is probably the wrong word. It may simply not have cared."
  97. [18:25] <SwaDM> "I suppose there is yet far more to learn about the Void. There could be a pattern in the chaos, at the very least."
  98. 01[18:26] <Artisan_Kiran> 5"I think that'll do it for this game."
  99. [18:27] <SwaDM> "A good match - thank you."
  100. 01[18:27] <Artisan_Kiran> 5"You're welcome. I thought I was making a comeback for a moment there."
  101. [18:28] <SwaDM> "It can be a rather thrilling game, yes."
  102. [18:28] <SwaDM> "Still. I'm obligated to ask."
  103. [18:29] <SwaDM> "Do you believe you are ready for what is to come?"
  104. 01[18:29] <Artisan_Kiran> 5"For which part?"
  105. [18:29] <SwaDM> "The coming engagement."
  106. 01[18:31] <Artisan_Kiran> 5"I'm worried, but I'm not afraid. We'll get through this, beat it, and we'll do what we came here to do."
  107. 06[18:31] * Artisan_Kiran looks down at himself for a moment.
  108. 01[18:31] <Artisan_Kiran> 5"As for being personally ready? I think that I am, yes."
  109. [18:32] <SwaDM> "Hrm."
  110. [18:32] <SwaDM> "You've certainly changed."
  111. 06[18:32] * Artisan_Kiran shrugs.
  112. [18:33] <SwaDM> "It is impressive how sufficient stress and demand can cause others to adapt and change so quickly."
  113. 01[18:33] <Artisan_Kiran> 5"I probably have. This isn't the kind of life experience you go through without learning from it."
  114. 01[18:33] <Artisan_Kiran> 5"I'm certainly more confident."
  115. [18:33] <SwaDM> Adalet quirks his head to the side, nodding.
  116. [18:34] <SwaDM> "Conflict has bred strength in you - good."
  117. 01[18:34] <Artisan_Kiran> 5"Now I wouldn't go so far as thinking I could hold my own one-on-one with you. But I think I've learned to play to my own strengths instead of scrabbling to work out how to fight like someone else."
  118. [18:35] <SwaDM> He then shakes his head, making a small waving motion. "No - no. I'm quite certain you are *not* overconfident."
  119. [18:35] <SwaDM> " 'tis one of the few points where you do not remind me of Reveno."
  120. 01[18:36] <Artisan_Kiran> 5"... I remind you of Reveno?"
  121. [18:36] <SwaDM> "To a degree, yes."
  122. 01[18:37] <Artisan_Kiran> 5"Should I ask why?"
  123. [18:37] <SwaDM> Adalet shrugs his shoulders. "I do not mind if you do."
  124. 01[18:37] <Artisan_Kiran> 5"Why?"
  125. 06[18:38] * Artisan_Kiran delicately lifts up his king and places it on its side.
  126. [18:38] <SwaDM> "You've a similar spark of will, when it comes to your desire to fight the Void. As far as I am aware, you both were more forcefully removed from your realities - a far more sudden method of recruitment then the one Neviltis or Spera tends to do."
  127. [18:39] <SwaDM> "Now - it is true that you handle your own problems in a...significantly diferent manner - yet in the base of it all, I certainly can see quite a few similarities."
  128. 01[18:41] <Artisan_Kiran> 5"Huh. I'll take your word for it."
  129. [18:42] <SwaDM> "Quite. Albeit I would profer a warning to you."
  130. 01[18:42] <Artisan_Kiran> 5"I didn't know he got forcibly removed."
  131. 04[18:43] <SwaDM> He starts talking, afore pausing, and giving Kiran a small shrug.
  132. [18:44] <SwaDM> "I know little about it - he's spoken little of his past. Yet if he is from a dead world, then it only stands to reason that his introduction into this play was little different then yours."
  133. [18:44] <SwaDM> "When Spera gave you her offer, you had almost no choice on the matter."
  134. [18:44] <SwaDM> "It was as simple as fight or die."
  135. 01[18:44] <Artisan_Kiran> 5"I would have chosen the same regardless."
  136. 01[18:44] <Artisan_Kiran> 5"But I take your point."
  137. 04[18:45] <SwaDM> He nods towards Kiran, once more.
  138. [18:45] <SwaDM> "As I was saying."
  139. [18:45] <SwaDM> "Regardless of whatever animosity it is you bear against the Void - which, I have no doubt it is...considerable."
  140. [18:46] <SwaDM> "Do not let it consume you. Our world will have no need of such rancor, when it all ends."
  141. 01[18:47] <Artisan_Kiran> 5"It's okay. I don't hate it. From what I know, it's doing what it was meant to. But it's just... misguided. I hate the result. Seeing what the outcome of it's been so far."
  142. 01[18:48] <Artisan_Kiran> 5"I don't think I hate anyone."
  143. [18:48] <SwaDM> "Good."
  144. 04[18:49] <SwaDM> "It may seem sentimental to you, Kiran. But I am glad you appear to be a truly good person."
  145. 01[18:49] <Artisan_Kiran> 5"I- huh. I don't know what's appropriate to say in response to that."
  146. 01[18:49] <Artisan_Kiran> 5"Thank you?"
  147. 06[18:49] * Artisan_Kiran looks slightly uncomfortable.
  148. [18:49] <SwaDM> He then makes another wave of his hand. "Albeit one with considerable issues, when it comes to interacting with others, at times. "
  149. 06[18:50] * Artisan_Kiran grins.
  150. 01[18:50] <Artisan_Kiran> 5"I'm learning."
  151. [18:50] <SwaDM> Adalets tone appears to considerably ligthen.
  152. [18:50] <SwaDM> "Ah, but we all are."
  153. [18:50] <SwaDM> "Tell me - was there aught else you wished to discuss?"
  154. 01[18:50] <Artisan_Kiran> 5"Do you think you've changed, Adalet? Since this whole thing began?"
  155. [18:50] <SwaDM> "Ah."
  156. [18:50] <SwaDM> "Hrm."
  157. [18:51] <SwaDM> Adalet slowly leans back on his seat, remaining silent.
  158. [18:51] <SwaDM> "Changed...?"
  159. [18:52] <SwaDM> "If so - precious little. I've already had all of my life to learn, and become who I am. I've certainly learned more, in these years. But I am hard pressed to say I have truly changed in any significant manner."
  160. [18:53] <SwaDM> "Of course, one could argue that becoming a Faceless is a significant change on it's own right, but..."
  161. [18:53] <SwaDM> "From what I have observed, our personalities do not change."
  162. 01[18:53] <Artisan_Kiran> 5"I wonder if that's really the case."
  163. [18:54] <SwaDM> "Might be Neviltis has the answers for such."
  164. 01[18:55] <Artisan_Kiran> 5"I mean. You are who you are because of a combination of things, right? Nature and nurture or whatever. If the things that were the external pillars of who you are, the people, or the physical things, are no longer there or accessible... the-"
  165. 06[18:55] * Artisan_Kiran gestures like he's trying to grasp for the word.
  166. [18:55] <SwaDM> "Crux?"
  167. 01[18:55] <Artisan_Kiran> 5"The things that reinforced and kept you the same person that you were won't be able to influence you."
  168. [18:55] <SwaDM> "Core?"
  169. 01[18:55] <Artisan_Kiran> 5"Core."
  170. 01[18:55] <Artisan_Kiran> 5"The core that kept you who you were is gone, and you're free to change. To adapt."
  171. 01[18:56] <Artisan_Kiran> 5"Which I guess is part of the philosophy. Adapt or die."
  172. [18:56] <SwaDM> "You..."
  173. [18:56] <SwaDM> "I suppose you could be right."
  174. [18:57] <SwaDM> "It would be impossible for me to tell that I have changed if I do not know precisely *who* or *what* exactly I was."
  175. [18:58] <SwaDM> "It could be that the...original me met his final death, years ago - no longer to ever exist. It's a..."
  176. [18:58] <SwaDM> "Sobering thought, I suppose."
  177. 06[18:58] * Artisan_Kiran frowns down at his fallen king.
  178. 01[18:59] <Artisan_Kiran> 5"I think it's important to be a version of yourself that the past you would be proud of."
  179. 01[18:59] <Artisan_Kiran> 5"And I think what we're all doing is worth being proud of."
  180. [19:00] <SwaDM> "It but stands to reason that if my blade has not left me, then, in some fashion, I at least resemble who I was."
  181. 01[19:02] <Artisan_Kiran> 5"Is it... conscious?"
  182. 01[19:02] <Artisan_Kiran> 5"Or semi-conscious?"
  183. [19:02] <SwaDM> "It is conscious."
  184. 06[19:03] * Artisan_Kiran leans slowly around the table to look at the sword.
  185. [19:03] <SwaDM> "Albeit-...no, I suppose your latter description is more apt."
  186. [19:03] <SwaDM> "In a sense, it is slumbering - the same way my physical body is."
  187. [19:04] <SwaDM> The "blade" - A.K.A - Chunk of rock is currently leaning against the side of Adalet's chair - as it would simply be impractical for it to rest upon his back when he is sitting.
  188. 06[19:04] * Artisan_Kiran stares at it for a few moments.
  189. 06[19:04] * Artisan_Kiran tentatively waves at it.
  190. 01[19:04] <Artisan_Kiran> 5"Hello."
  191. [19:05] <SwaDM> Adalet suddenly scoffs, afore breaking into a deep, yet short laugh.
  192. [19:05] <SwaDM> " *Hah*! The attempt is...appreciated, at the very least."
  193. 06[19:05] * Artisan_Kiran sits back up, glancing at the sword again before re-settling in his chair.
  194. 04[19:06] <SwaDM> Much to Kiran's broken heart, the sword does not talk to him.
  195. 01[19:06] <Artisan_Kiran> 5What's the point of being a weaponsmith if you can't talk to swords?
  196. 01[19:08] <Artisan_Kiran> 5"Adalet?"
  197. 01[19:08] <Artisan_Kiran> 5"What religion does the symbol on your chest represent?"
  198. 04[19:09] <SwaDM> He glances down towards it for a moment, afore focusing back on Kiran.
  199. [19:09] <SwaDM> "In truth? None."
  200. [19:10] <SwaDM> "It is of a divine nature, yes - but divine power need not be shaped by a specific sect. I suppose the closest thing I could equate - to you, would be the symbol of an Empyreal Lord, albeit that wouldn't be quite right ,either."
  201. [19:11] <SwaDM> "...Wait. You are not Lous. You likely do not even know what those are."
  202. 06[19:12] * Artisan_Kiran lowers the hand he was beginning to raise.
  203. 01[19:12] <Artisan_Kiran> 5"I do not even know what those are."
  204. 01[19:12] <Artisan_Kiran> 5"I know the word empyreal."
  205. [19:12] <SwaDM> "Extremely complciated to explain to the unitiated, so I shall have to simplify it considerably to you."
  206. [19:12] <SwaDM> "They are, in essence, more abstract beings that represent distinct aspects found across the gamut and hierarchy of celestial beings."
  207. 01[19:13] <Artisan_Kiran> 5"Okay. I think I understand."
  208. [19:13] <SwaDM> "Often directly given worship by outsiders - instead of mortals. My own symbol pays some reference to the one aligned to concepts such as Justice, and Order - yet tempered by my own blade."
  209. [19:14] <SwaDM> "To simplify - think of it as..."
  210. [19:14] <SwaDM> "Celestial Mumbo Jumbo."
  211. 06[19:14] * Artisan_Kiran frowns.
  212. 01[19:14] <Artisan_Kiran> 5"Would it be easier to explain in Celestial?"
  213. 01[19:14] <Artisan_Kiran> 5"I know some concepts don't translate well."
  214. [19:14] <SwaDM> "It wouldn't, no."
  215. [19:15] <SwaDM> "It's far less to do with the language - and more to do with an understanding of how planar aspects function in general."
  216. [19:15] <SwaDM> "If you're truly curious, it might be good for you to speak with Lous. The man is...far better as a teacher then I could ever hope to be."
  217. 01[19:15] <Artisan_Kiran> 5"Oh. Okay. Well, I'll do some research on that and next time we talk I'll be in a better position to discuss it."
  218. [19:16] <SwaDM> "That might do you good."
  219. 01[19:17] <Artisan_Kiran> 5"Hm. Interesting!"
  220. 01[19:17] <Artisan_Kiran> 5"Well. Before I go take a look at the greenhouses, do you want another match?"
  221. [19:18] <SwaDM> "Not at the moment - why don't you go do whatever duties you need, while I review my maps. Once we are done, we can go for a rematch."
  222. 01[19:19] <Artisan_Kiran> 5"Okay. I'll talk to you again later, then."
  223. [19:19] <SwaDM> "By all means."
  224. 06[19:21] * Artisan_Kiran will reassemble the chess pieces before standing from the table.
  225. 06[19:21] * Artisan_Kiran heads toward the greenhouses to investigate!
  226. 04[19:22] <SwaDM> ADVENTURE! Kiran shall set off to briefly have gander across how such a place may be organized.
  227. 01[19:22] <Artisan_Kiran> 5Pretty much. Let's go learn how greenhouses work, because this will be incredibly useful.
  228. [19:23] <SwaDM> Well, YOU know how they work, but
  229. [19:23] <SwaDM> Fantasy
  230. [19:23] <SwaDM> I'll basically just write a full, proper description here, while asking you for a couple of cehcks, depending on what you ask.
  231. 01[19:23] <Artisan_Kiran> 5Let's do it
  232. [19:25] <SwaDM> In truth, there is a row of three of these - located directly behind the mansion itself. They're...not particularly large. Relatively thin, too. Currently ,there is little sunlight to be had. Interestingly, while the material of the panels placed upon them seems to have the texture of glass, it is almost completely black at this point - with the grey metal-
  233. [19:25] <SwaDM> - framings of the structure constrasting heavily with such a color. Still - one can still peek at vague silouettes of plants within, should one squint.
  234. 06[19:25] * Artisan_Kiran will circle around them all.
  235. [19:26] <SwaDM> Perception roll, please.
  236. 01[19:27] <Artisan_Kiran> 5Waiting for r20
  237. 01[19:27] <Artisan_Kiran> 523
  238. 04[19:29] <SwaDM> One thing Kiran might notice is that the color of each greenhouse...isn't actually the same. The leftmost one has the darkest glass, with the rightmost one having what is certainly at least a ligther shade of it. It's easy enough to notice once one gets a bit closer to them.
  239. 04[19:29] <SwaDM> None of them are really clear and transparent like some Kiran might have seen, though.
  240. 01[19:30] <Artisan_Kiran> 5Interesting. Possibly one to absorb varying levels of light to modulate plants that grow over or belowground?
  241. [19:30] <SwaDM> (JJust popping on my laptop for a moment)
  242. 03[19:30] * SwadDM (Mibbit@7F5A8C5B.46946E9.8D871A00.IP) has joined #vrppathfinder
  243. [19:31] <SwadDM> As for your question
  244. [19:31] <SwadDM> Give me a Nature check - easy one.
  245. 01[19:31] <Artisan_Kiran> 5oh boy
  246. 01[19:31] <Artisan_Kiran> 519
  247. 01[19:31] <Artisan_Kiran> 5I'm going to have to invest some more in that when we next level.
  248. [19:32] <SwadDM> That could infact be true, yes - it makes sense in paper. However, there is one small thing that's a bit glaring.
  249. [19:32] <SwadDM> Due to the climate in the Snowlands themselves, plants would get very little sunlight *regardless*. As such, in normal occasions, it is likely that darkening the glass in this context would probably just not allow plants to grow, usually.
  250. [19:32] <SwadDM> It's likely something else may be at play here.
  251. [19:33] <SwadDM> Still, the theory is sound.
  252. 01[19:33] <Artisan_Kiran> 5My other theory is that the glass is somehow storing light or preventing light from escaping, so that the plants can be bathed in light for longer periods.
  253. [19:33] <SwadDM> Similarly possible - how would you investigate this?
  254. 01[19:34] <Artisan_Kiran> 5Shining light on it to see if a beam of light appears on the other side.
  255. 01[19:34] <Artisan_Kiran> 5I've got a wayfinder and can use paper or cardboard to create a pinlight.
  256. [19:35] <SwadDM> It doesn't quite appear that the light manages to make it's way past the entirety of the greenhouse, no. You certainly light up the glass, getting a slightly better view of what's inside - certainly plants. Easy enough to identify a few roots, given the result of your previous roll.
  257. [19:36] <SwadDM> It doesn't look like light from the outside can *quite* make it in too much, no.
  258. 01[19:36] <Artisan_Kiran> 5So stands to reason that light is being trapped inside as well. Is the inside dark?
  259. [19:37] <SwadDM> It's awkawrd to judge from the outside- but it IS easy enough to simply nudge open the door, or even use your light from the outside to get abetter view.
  260. [19:37] <SwadDM> It is not dark inside, no. There are six, flaming orange/red points of light distributed across the inside of the greenhouse, infact.
  261. 01[19:37] <Artisan_Kiran> 5Eh, fuck it, let's move inside.
  262. [19:37] <SwadDM> Planes or Arcana, please - planes being the easiest.
  263. 01[19:38] <Artisan_Kiran> 523 Planes
  264. 04[19:38] <SwadDM> No one is currently working within, and as Kiran gets inside - well.
  265. [19:39] <SwadDM> It's hot. Okay - that might be an understantement. It's *extremely* hot inside. Not to the point that his skin starts burning - of course not, and he does have heat resistance, but he can still tell that this place is *warm* - and not...entirely humid, surprisingly enough.
  266. [19:40] <SwadDM> The dots of flame can be identified easily enough - specially since they're actually used for some utilities, from time to time - they appear to actually be tiny elementals. Often considered non-sapient to practically mindless - they can be used to provide heat to certain areas - or cold, depending onthe elemental.
  267. 01[19:40] <Artisan_Kiran> 5Ah. The same kind that were recommended to power the oven
  268. [19:40] <SwadDM> Being very simple creatures - they often attempt to seek out areas that appease their climate - precisely so.
  269. [19:40] <SwadDM> They appear to be currently held upon small balls of glass - with tiny holes across said balls.
  270. 04[19:41] <SwadDM> It's *abundantly* clear that the light and heat they are generating is bouncng across the dark surfaces of the glass repeatedly. Kiran may also notice something else.
  271. [19:42] <SwadDM> There are a few lever mechanisms set near the walls themselves, alongside transparent, glass panels beside them. An engineering check is not required - given his actual stats. It is likely that the greenhous ecan have it's outer panels "swapped" to be transparent, so taht it can absorb sunlight mor easily, when required.
  272. 01[19:43] <Artisan_Kiran> 5Ah, neat. So I was somewhat correct about it being to force growth and generation through dark points.
  273. [19:43] <SwadDM> And then, when sunlight cannot be acquired in any significant manner, swapped back so whatever light and heat has been retained remains there as much aspossibel.
  274. [19:43] <SwadDM> Quite so.
  275. 01[19:44] <Artisan_Kiran> 5Fascinating!
  276. [19:45] <SwaDM> Now - it is *clear* that the plants within are not doing precisely 100% - they still do not have quite as much sunlight as they would *need* - indicating that harvests would certainly take something of a longer time, and be lesser then usual.
  277. [19:45] <SwaDM> But it's still something.
  278. 01[19:45] <Artisan_Kiran> 5Okay. I think that's probably as much as I'll get out of it. Though I do need to work out more about how to summon and/or recruit elementals.
  279. [19:45] <SwaDM> That's require legitimatelyalot of study, yes.
  280. 01[19:46] <Artisan_Kiran> 5I guess there's a solo session with Lous and/or Savitri in Kiran's future.
