Pinkie and the Queen Part 3

>Chrysalis managed to shake off Pinkie's snuggly grip as she jumped backwards and took a quick menacing look at Pinkie before taking a breath and calming down. "You need to stop doing thjt, it's annoying....ahrm"
>Pinkie merely made a small salute
"Can do! But if you want a great big Pinkie hug! then never ever ever ever ever ever hesitate to ask! ok?"
>Chrysalis looked up at the sky, noticing the sun beginning to dip into the horizon as the blue sky began to turn dimmer and more orange. "hrm..I wouldn't hold your breath on that"
>Pinkie looked at the sky with her, as it seemed. She seemed to have completely ignored that comment.
"Whatcha looking at"
>"All the wasted time, you could have gotten here sooner. But now it will be dark soon soon and you will most likely become too tired and useless to continue your friendship lessons"
>Pinkie zipped to Chrysalis and wrapped her hoof around her neck, startling her. The queen looked into Pinkie's happy eyes with annoyance, but said nothing.
"Yaaaaa know. It's not just lessons. You gotta BE friendly too, and be a friend. And do you know what friends do when it gets dark?"
>Chrysalis took a moment to think."hrnnn...Ahh, I suppose they would plot and scheme together, correct?"
>Pinkie rubbed her chin with her hoof, she started thinking if certain friends would do that. Then started to put a positive spin in her mind. Like plotting for making somepony's party the best they ever had.
"Yeah! friends do do that actually!"
>Chrysalis made a small grin, feeling she has finally made actual progress in Pinkie's eyes.
>Pinkie hopped away from her, and turned to face her with inquisitive, yet anticipating eyes
"you know what else friends do when it gets dark?"
>Chrysalis was confused by that question "I thought that's all friends would do" she began narrow her eyes as she looked down, thinking. Taking a moment before looking back at her "Unless you mean they also bring down entire monarchies...or such....right?"

>Pinkie shook her head and slowly walked towards the bugpone queen.
"tsk tsk tsk, friends don't attack monarch butterflies. How would you even find them in the dark?"
>Chrysalis looked down on her "I didn't say anything abo-...."
>Pinkie jumped in mid air with a loud bellowing yell.
"THEY HAAAAVEEE SLEEEPOVERS!"
>Chryslis cringed as her head rang from the loud sound as she fell on her plot. "Must you be so....wait...What is this..."sleepover?". She shook her head to compose herself, and then stood as she fluttered her bug wings to blow the dirt from her flanks.
>Pinkie gasped.
"You never had a sleepover before?"
>Chrysalis sighed with irritation in her breath "I don't even know what that is! stop playing riddles with me and start making sense!"
"oohhh! Riddles...hrmmm..we could definatly do that!"
>Chrysalis started to step closer to Pinkie, feeling anger overcome her "WILL YOU JUST SPIT OUT WHAT A SLEEPOVER IS ALREADY, IT'S GETTING DARK AND I'D RATHER NOT DEAL WITH YOUR CONFUSING PRATTLING ANYMORE!"
>Pinkie stepped back, feeling startled from her outburst, but quickly snaps back to her senses as she gives her a smile
"It's simple Chyrssie! I come to stay with you for the night and we play games and tell stories and eat lots of snacks before we plop down for bed! doesn't that sound fun?! We could really get a connection going if we have a sleepover at your place!"
>"what are you tal.....oh no" "Chrysalis's eyes widened "What kind of terrible suggestion is that?! Are you trying to kill me?!"
>Pinkie giggled
"That's a good one Chryssie! as if i'd ever do that to anypony! See, you're really starting to get it!"
>Chrysalis took a step back "..right...a joke....Well will you look at the time? I simply must be going back to my lair, perhaps we can continue this bright and early tommorow?" But in her mind she already wanted to say: "Perhaps never continue this at all and forget this ever happened"

>Pinkie's smile started to die down, her giggling stopping as she realized Chrysalis already seemingly didn't have her heart fully invested in this endeavor. She started to internally question if it was because she was shy about making a friend, or the worst case scenario that she was unchangeable. But she quickly dismissed the latter on the reasoning that Discord had been reformed, and at this moment. She herself havn't been blown up yet.
>Pinkie took a breath and gave Chrysalis a serious look, one that even surprised the queen of the changelings.
"If you don't want to have a sleepover, then I won't force you. But if you are super serious about making a friend. Then chryssie, you gotta open your heart just a little bit.I know you have one in there, everypony does. You just gotta get all those icky nasty cobwebs out. So I'll ask you one more time. Ya wanna have a sleepover?"
>This sudden change in Pinkie was quite surprising to Chrysalis, But she acted as unphased as possible and gave a slick grin to her. "Nice try, Pink one. But I wouldn't be as foolish to accept such an offer. Besides you being rather intolerable. I just realized you could also do some spying of your own while in my lair. heh, now off with you. I trust you can get out of this forest the way you came in, correct?"
>Pinkie's serious face slowly faded as she started to frown ever so slightly.
"hmm..y-yeah, I know how to get home. I was just hoping you'd kinda say yes Chry..."
>Chrysalis immediately stopped her "All I had to hear was a yes, now be off with you! Before I change my mind altogether"
>Pinkie looked at her for just a moment, it seemed as if she wanted to say something. But she just made a small sigh and hung her head. And started to walk the other direction. She wanted to keep her word about not saying anything else after being declined.

>Chrysalis observed Pinkie walk out of the clearing and disappear into the trees. When she was sure she was gone, she turned around and slowly flapped her bug wings. "hrm...What a silly, stupid little pony. Only a single meeting and she wants to immediately be friends?! Hah, I hope she thinks i'm not foolish as to believe anypony would easily want to be friends with me."
>She chortled, then looked up into the sky. It was darker now, a dark shade of blue blanketing the sky as stars started to appear."and to make matters even more laughable, she wishes to stay in my home for a night. Perhaps this was indeed a mistake. There's nothing this "friendship" can offer to me, not even nutrition."
>Chrysalis smiled at the moon as the night winds blew through her mane "hm hm...It's lucky I had her come all the way down here. I could just stroll right back to my castle from this distance while she'll have to travel ALL the way back through the forest. She'll probably be terrified and get lost. Now that would be a sight to see, nehehehe"
>The queen snickered, and sighed joyously as she began to walk forward towards the other end of the clearing. When a nagging feeling began to tug at her mind.
>hrn...Why do I feel like. hrnnn...no it couldn't possibly be..." She shook her head, and as she thought about Pinkie Pie running for dear life. The thought began to seem less and less humorous. "ngh...Why does the thought of her suffering not seem so enjoyable?"
>Chrysalis slowed to a stop and began to wonder why these thoughts had began to bother her "hrn, it couldn't possibly be me caring about her. She much too bothersome for that. hrnnn...Aha! of course!" Said the Queen with a stomp with her hoof.

>"Silly me! The thought must bother me because should anything actually happen to her. Then i'd never beable to complete my plan to produce my own kind of love for eternal fuel for me and my children. And I can't be having that. AND No doubt should anything happen to her that her friends would come down and attack. And I can't have that in my current state.....but....I can't just...no..I can't have her sleep the night in my castle. I'd probably lose a chunk of my changelings from her jovial nonsense. And not only that, she would subject me to her childish games. A torture that would make being blasted by those wretched ponies seem worth it."
>Chrysalis sat on her plot as she continued to monologue to the nothingness of the air. "But then, theres that look she gave me when I turned her down in the first place. It wasn't like her to seem so defeated. Why am I even thinking about that? That makes no sense whatsoever to even think of that. And besides, she should feel honored to even have a chance to serve me...I'd think.And yet she seems happier doing things for my sake rather than my command. hrn...."
>The train of thought the Queen was on was starting to make her feel more and more unnerved. "I'd even say despite past...transgressions. That she seems perfectly willing and even happy to do with me the same things she does with her friends. hnn..."
>Chrysalis felt a small tug at where her heart should be, and took a breath, doing her best to ignore this alien feelings "...hmm..I suppose. Atleast for the benefit of my plan. I should allow her to stay a night. If anything happened to her, then my plan would fail. And I am not willing for any of my schemes to fail again! not this time..."
>Chrysalis took a step, then stopped, to reassure herself "....yes...that's the perfect reason. Only logical one I can think that best fits this situation"

>With another sigh, Chrysalis started to walk towards the direction Pinkie went while she adjusted her wings. to ready herself for flight.
>as she took another step. She feels something at the base of her hoof. making her nearly trip as she balances herself after a few wobbled steps and looks at to what she stepped into.
>It's Pinkie's saddle bag
>Chrysalis growled "Of course she'd have to be so irresponsible as to leave her junk here! It nearly caused me to trip!"
>Chrysalis's horn grew an evil green color as she lifted the bag to eye level. "Look at this silly thing, it's as pink as her. and so disgustingly festive. I should destroy it on sheer principle! In fact, I think i'll do exactly that! It'll serve her right."
>Chrysalis cackled as her horn began to glow lighter, illuminating the clearing as it seemed to charge a magical energy. "Now then, time to-WAHHHHH!"
>Suddenly Chrysalis nearly falls forward as Pinkie jumps out of nowhere, giving her a great big hug.
"Chryssie, you found my bag!"
>Chrysalis shook her off immediatly and stared at her with anger "What are you still doing here!"
>Pinkie hopped backwards and caught herself, then immediately smiled.
"Well, when i went to go home. I realized I forgot my saddle bag and went looking for it. Then when i saw that weird green glowing. I saw you holding it up with your magic.It made me so happy I just had to give you a hug. I didn't think you'd care enough to find it for me! but you did! And to think I had even a teeny tiny pinch of doubt!"
>Chrysalis anger nearly piqued at those words. "I WASN'T LO-...."
>She suddenly found herself stopping, her anger leaving immediately as she looked at the pink pony. "Why would...why would you even spend time looking for it when every minute you spend in this forest in the dark could spell your doom?"

"Because, that bag has alot of special things in it that was going to be for you and me. Like a camera and two picture frames so we can take our pictures together and both have a copy for ourselves!
>Chrysalis sighed and put her hoof to her forehead as she began to rub "Are you telling me you risked your life for some useless trinkets? Are you an idiot?"
>Pinkie looked confused by those words
"uhhh? come on, I don't think things are that serious. It's just night time. All the big baddies would be asleep! so no worries!"
>Chrysalis covered her face in her hoof. Those words were simply appalling. "I see...of course you'd think that."
>She turned to the bag, it had fallen back to the ground when she was jumped. She sighed, used her magic to lift it back up, and floated it over to Pinkie. Who grabbed the bag with her mouth, and turned back to toss it onto her back.
>Chrysalis watched as Pinkie secured the bag. She felt like she wanted to say something. But she suddenly began to feel yet another nagging feeling. it almost felt like what would be guilt. for what she was about to do to the bag.
>Pinkie smiled and waved
"Well Chryssie! seeya tommorow! And no worries, I promise i'll be right here. Bright and early!"
>Chrysalis merely stared. Not saying a word. She seemed alittle lost in herself for a moment. Until seeing Pinkie nearly disappear again snapped her back to reality. "Wait!"
>Pinkie stopped, and slowly turned back, she didn't say anything.
>Chrysalis sighed. she stayed silent for almost thirty seconds. Both her and Pinkie being as still as statues. Until finally she said "It occurs to me, atleast with my personal knowledge of the Everfree. That perhaps you venturing out by yourself at this time would be well.....stupid. I guess...hrmm...What i'm trying to say is.....is that...
>Chrysalis was finding it hard to come up with the words, and it wasn't helping that Pinkie suddenly was growing a rather wide smile as her eyes seem to glisten with excitement

>"what i mean is....grr...mnnn...You may stay at my castle for the night!.....if you want to.."
>Pinkie's answer was immediate, and not even a yes or no but a big loud
"SLEEEEEEEEPOOOVVVEEERRRR!!!!"
>Chrysalis cringed as Pinkie once again rushed to hug her. But it didn't knock her down. This hug seemed more precise, with more cuddling with less spontaneous power.
"I'D BE HAPPY TO!"
>Chrysalis was again silent. She didn't get angry this time. But she did sigh. "Alright alright fine" her tone was softer, mixed with annoyance...but also mixed with a feeling of care. An almost friendly tome. "But i'd rather not call it a sleepover or any other term you might have for it. You are merely staying at my home because...reasons."
>Pinkie released Chrysalis from her grip, and shook with glee.
"Whatever ya say Chryssie, I'm just glad i'll beable to hang out and show you how to have fun and be friends!"
>Chrysalis gulped "what have I done?"
