- I normally would have this up over 12 hours ago, but I did end up with a rather debilitating headache Sunday when I would normally start drafting it. With that said, I'll be brief--at least by my standards.
- Puzzle General's second Tetris Attack V-Hard speedrun tournament starts next week. My preparation has been getting better. Sub-9 runs are starting to become the norm. Even last year, thinking I would have been able to do that consistently would have been insane. By the way, the average run in my prep is now 9:15. Even though last Tuesday had back-to-back 7:59s, it was by far my worst day of runs, bumping up the average quite a bit.
- In other stream news, I will likely pay off a donation incentive this weekend by playing 45 minutes of Yu-Gi-Oh! The Duelists of the Roses (PS2). I will probably attempt a speedrun of some sort in that time. I will spend the rest of said stream trying to improve my Wario's Woods VS COM time--keyword "trying." More like "failing." I still don't have a great handle on how to quickly get the combos that I actually want to get instead of the standard clears that I typically spam.
- In other gaming news, I am starting to regret trying to build up my characters' stats in Radiant Historia Perfect Chronology for New Game Plus speedruns. The issue is that the DLC special area within the Vault of Time, the Hunting Corridor, has the stat-gaining Fruits for "sale" at a much cheaper price than the regular area, but has enemies that yield much less of the currency, Mementos, than in the regular area. However, you cannot take Mementos between the two areas. The more efficient grind is in the Hunting Corridor by a good margin as you can get enough Mementos for 1-2 Fruits per minute, but on a good day it's going to take an hour, at least, to get 99 of a single fruit, each one increasing a stat by one (HP by 10, MP by 5). I THINK the maximum value for each main stat is 999. Therefore, it will probably take EIGHT hours to max out ONE stat for ONE character. There are EIGHT stats (HP, MP, ATK, MAG, DEF, MDF, SPD, LUC). There are SEVEN characters (Stocke, Raynie, Marco, Rosch, Aht, Gafka, Eruca). I've already spent over 40 hours on this game. Am I gonna have to add another FOUR HUNDRED AND FIFTY to it?! Am I really gonna log 500 hours by the time I'm done? So this must be why people learn to hack... but I'm too stupid to know how to do that for a 3DS game. I hope someone comes along to prove me wrong--preferably with a glitch to keep the standard-area Mementos into the Hunting Corridor so you can buy 100-200 from a single rare Memento Crab encounter instead of the usual... 2.
