  1. >Jump 42: Avatar the Legend of Korra
  2. >Judgement (A change in point of view, most frequently towards greater enlightenment.)
  3. >Age: 17
  4. >Location: Rural Settlement
  5. >Identity: Inventor (-100)
  6. >Nationality: Fire Nation
  7. >Drawbacks: Collectors (+100), It's A Kid's Show (+200), Equalists Forever (+200), Lotus Eaters (+300)
  8. >Future Industrialist (Free, Inventor)
  9. Ten years of practical knowledge of a particular field of science? Mechanical engineering. More useful than anyone might imagine until they look into it.
  10. >Deus ex Mecha (1400, Inventor)
  11. Oh, I am going to have so much fun inventing magitech that now is far more advanced than it has any right to be...
  12. >Chi Manipulation (1100)
  13. Add this to martial arts and I've got an excellent way to basically disable anyone I'm up against without even having to knock them out. And in theory I can probably disable them for a time period roughly of my choosing! Especially if they are benders. Speaking of which...
  14. >Bender (1000)
  15. ...I kind of want to use this in a crowded theater. I think there's something wrong with me.
  16. >Lightning (900)
  17. And now I can hate people to death like Emperor Palpatine, but without the wrinkled saggy old man skin!
  18. >Blue Flames (600)
  19. To be honest, I just got this because it means I can make my fire blue instead of yellow/red.
  20. >Bending Genius (0)
  21. Also? This is how I will now sustain flickering flames in my skull in lich form, since I don't exactly have eyes, just empty sockets of darkness.
  22.
  23. So, Collectors. Why is the local crime syndicate trying to shake me down? Because they've been bribed to do so by the Red Lotus. I won't kill the idiots they keep sending after me though - if I kill them, they won't learn anything. But I can make sure they lose their eyebrows.
  24.
  25. Why are the equalists trying to come after me to remove my bending powers? Because they're idiots and someone from the Red Lotus put a bug in their ear. I'll keep them alive, as I said, but them... every time one comes after me I'll be rendering one of their limbs lame for a day. If they are stupid enough to come back, I'll go for two limbs. Let's see them drag themselves away when their legs won't move. Why are the Red Lotus so pissed off at me? ...well, I kind of stole Korra. While wearing my lich form, which I pretty much kept on for the entire jump. But I have my own city-state, so it's not kidnapping, it's extrajudicial immigration! That's how it works, right? Right.
  26.
  27. You see, the first thing I did was tracking down Korra right out of the gate, grabbing her, taking her to the middle of nowhere while she panicked despite my reasurrances... and she did her level best against me, I praised her for it after I disabled her ability to bend via chi manipulation. She got real, REAL quiet when Undrentide started rising up around her.
  28.
  29. I'm surprised more people didn't freak out about the shiny new floating city in the middle of the desert, honestly. Also... pretty sure that if I've got chi manipulation, I should be able to turn back on anything I turn off, yeah? Would be silly otherwise
  30.
  31. This is when her education began. The idea that started it all was to give her my mark - that is, the mark I can give someone as a reward for not being interested in any of the Outsider's trinkets - and things went along the lines of "you remember how this made sense two minutes ago? now I'll teach you WHY it made sense" and "you felt how easy it was to sneak through there? now here's how you do it without training wheels" and "you need to learn how to fight without bending, fighting with it is great but you should always use every trick at your disposal if things merit it".
  32.
  33. Basically... she'd get to try something with my boon granted to her, and then I'd teach her how to do it WITHOUT such a thing. In between the physical lessons, I made sure to give her as much formal teaching as I could, both in what would be considered standard education and practical matters.
  34.
  35. In short, I spent a year trying to pound common sense into her head, and just BARELY succeeded. Maybe she wasn't quite as much a master of the other elements as she might have been if things went according to the plot, but at least she wasn't an idiot and her physical conditioning was much improved. On the plus side, having an impassive skull for a face was very helpful whenever she'd throw a tantrum - I'd basically stare at her and eventually go "are you done now?" and that did a good job of making her feel stupid. The only expression that came across my face was thanks to the flames I kept dancing in my eye sockets - that was actually a heck of a thing. Usually kept them blue, but tweaked that a bit with Bending Genius so that I could have them change with my mood. A harmless cosmetic effect.
  36.
  37. The plot was put back on its rails when she left to learn how to airbend, and... basically? I stalked her in order to deal with a few particular plot elements that offended me. I didn't kill anyone, as I said, but... there are things worse than death. And I showed that Amon asshat that I could do all of them.... after all, you can't bloodbend someone who doesn't have any blood, and buddy, you went after my surrogate daughter. You fucked up. And what's that about a conspiracy? Oh, you ALL fucked up. Let a wiser Korra figure out the place of the Avatar in the modern world on her own - we're not breaking any cycles, that would be silly.
  38.
  39. Also? Fuck subtlety with this build. I'm going all-in, every jump, why not? Undrentide is coming with me for giggles as well. I just have to rename the thing to something more... appropriate.
